I was wondering how they were going to escalate the next villain after Beerus.

Didn't think they can get more threatening than a God of Destruction...but a rogue Kai that can manipulate time (and apparently steal bodies) is perfect, and not what I was expecting.

Time manipulation can be threatening to any fighter, regardless of how strong they are.

The U6 and U7 Kais we've seen were garbage, though. Only the Hakaishin showed to be actually powerful. Pic related spent the entire Buu Saga being completely useless.

In hindsight, besides exposition and helping everyone be wary of Babidi's plan for Majin Buu along with reviving Goku, the Kaios besides King Kai were really fucking useless, weren't they? Even Gohan's mystic from the Elder Kai lasts for relevancy in all of one fight before he got absorbed.

I don't think you can put it all on his mom, in general the earthling cast was important throughout the series in repressing the vicious nature of the Saiyans. Don't forget Goku murdered people on many occasions in DB, but he was mostly good natured due to brain damage/his grandpa/roshi/bulma. Vegeta had probably the biggest character change I can think of in any anime, once again due to primarily interactions with the earthling cast. Piccolo bucks this trend a little because it was really his experience killing Goku and with Gohan that resulted in character change, and moreso once he fused with Nail and Kami who were both "good guys". IIRC when he killed Goku he had some thoughts to the effect of "great, I finally avenged my father and slew my rival. wait, what the fuck am I supposed to do next."

Piccolo was ENTIRELY willing to throw himself at Cell but fucking chickened out against Supreme Kai.

Supreme Kai could be SSJ2 tier and still be ineffective in the saga he was relevant. The level was just so high that anyone who wasn't SSJ3 tier or above was shit.

Vegeta proved that when he was SSJ2 AND Babidi buffed and still got effortlessly beat to shit by Buu to the point he couldn't even move without his son helping with a sneak attack while Supreme Kai soaked as much damage while also actually counter attacking, though it was entirely ineffective.

Not to mention he literally help Gohan still while in SSJ2 with a gesture.

People just underestimate Supreme Kai because of what was happening in the Buu saga but he could have probably taken Perfect Cell in a straight up fight.

Super Android 13 is Android arc rehash now with 300% less soul and personality, avoid. Broly 2 and 3 are absolute trash, but Broly 2 is redeeming in that you get more Videl and Gohan in it, and in Broly 3 Android 18 saves the day along with Goten and Trunks. They're still shit but yeah if you like Videl and Gohan then Broly 2 is watchable and if you like 18 then Broly 3 is watchable as well.
