I won't tell anybody to get into InuYasha. I liked it (for the first 15-20 volumes or so), but it's got serious flaws that become more pronounced the longer you follow the series, because it becomes more and more formulaic and bland.

Well the thing about those type of time period setting is that the world just feels empty, like there is nothing there since there is hardly any civilization, so whenever they travel it doesn't feel like they are going anywhere. It just seems like their situation will take forever to fix (finding all the shards things) and it makes it less appealing to me.

Not sure if you know what I mean, but it just feels boring to watch. Might just be me though.

Oh yeah what, his loli just died. Seriously died, can't even be revived with his other sword. What does he do. He jumps INTO FUCKING HELL despite knowing there's probably no escape.

Remember how Tessaiga slaying 100 demons in one strike was awesome? One of Narakus minions summons over 2000 of them. What does SESSHOU FUCKING MARU do? KIll them all in one strike. Even the minion admits he was OWNED.

And then they fight Naraku and he's like "hurr durr if you kill me my poisoned body will rain down on the village" and Sesshoumaru is like, "I don't give a fuck", and slices him in half

And if Kagura hadn't died, he probably would have made her his waifu because she sure as hell lusted for his cock. And don't forget the fucking loli.

Even fucking Gundam Unicorn has a bunch of Sawano haters, but pretty much nobody back then hated Inuyasha's music. It's kinda like how Hikaru no Go was, only the show itself was garbage 99% of the time whereas HnG is still a contender for GOAT coming of age type anime. The only other series I know of to achieve this kinda status for it's music other than those two would be Slayers.

I watched most part of it in catalan It was okay despite being more oriented to girls

I actually agree with this, it would have been nice to have more regular detective missions between the big arcs and it would've been even nicer if there were a few SOL episodes thrown in for good measure. YYH has GREAT characters and they weren't shown off as much as I would've liked which is kind of funny because Sailor Moon was running at the same time and they actually did a great job of fleshing out the girls and giving them personalities where their manga counterparts didn't have much. I'm not saying YYH should have had the same amount of filler content but it wouldn't have detracted from its overall value as a series with a few similar episodes thrown in there.

I honestly didn't think it was possible to be this stupid ...

But it did remind me of something, back in the early to mid 00's when Inuyasha was at its highest point of popularity I got an artbook for the series, it was cool as fuck too. I love looking at concept and line work, it kind of gets me off. But at the very end of the book there was a section of character sketches with the names translated, I remember Sesshomaru's translates to something ridiculous and Sango's is a kind of jewel or something like that. Very enlightening at the time.

The story is a decent 3 parter.
The first 23 manga volumes were good. They introduce all the characters and set the scene, started out strong but dipped before they fought Naraku for the last time in the castle. Had too much run around with Naraku and less Thunder Brothers. BEES. The only part of the anime worth watching.

Second part involving the Band of Seven up until getting the final shard of the jewel was great. Had Naraku come back as a ""full"" demon but had nice build up getting to that last shard with Princess Abi.

Third part from that last shard to the finale was okay. Lots of deaths, new character interactions (Sesshoumaru to Kohaku) (Rin to Kaede), and of course a wrap up to the story.

If you stick to the manga it's not too bad, but fuck trying to watch all of the FILLER along with the story.

InuYasha's problem was that they were stuck in a loop. It was a Sisyphus task, never getting anywhere but always going through the same motions.

No other Rumiko work that I read had this problem. How can you even compare that to Ranma? Ranma was SOL for most of the story, and every story arc came with a timely conclusion. The only thing that was never concluded was the relationship angle, but that wasn't much of a loss.

I hated it when /a/ hated it because I thought it was cool to hate it back when I was just going along with /a/ opinion.
The last few volumes of Ranma felt like Inuyasha, and I think thats why I hated it at first. It was because it felt too 'shounen' and I think everyone knew that Rumiko didn't like being stuck in that hole.
Rinne is pretty much better in every way, and has almost zero shounen elements left and is more comedy focused. It reminds me of the early ranma volumes where it was just fun fights and nothing else.
I think the characters take a huge page out from Ranma too stylistically, which is the problem I had with Inuyasha in the first place.
