She didn't get sneak-attacked. She attacked Yamcha first and he knocked her out in one hit with his counterattack. And she wasn't just any kid. She had just killed a dinosaur in front of him. And I don't think there's a big difference in age between them. Aren't they like 2 or 3 years apart at most? She also didn't do very well at all against Goku. He shoved her off the ring without even touching her. I'm sure Yamcha would have lost miserably against him too, but Goku probably would have had to at least attack him. Jamcha is the second biggest jobber out of the male characters, but Chi Chi is all around a bigger jobber.

When Toriyama wrote the original ending, he was at the border of an emotional collapse. He wanted to finish Dragon Ball many times already but he couldn't because Shueisha didn't allow it, and with a good reason considering the sales crashed after Dragon Ball finale and they never fully recovered. Toriyama had to fight to finally end Dragon Ball so he was tired and too stressed out to care. Nevertheless, DB was such a money-making machine that the anime continue without Toriyama so GT was born

Toriyama is a hack. I have nostalgic love for his artstyle because I was a huge Dragonball and Dragon Quest fan since early on in life, but if you really take a look at his work as an author and artist he's incredibly wanting.

It's a prime example of 'right place, right time' how DBZ got so big.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the day that he hands over the reigns as Dragon Quest's designs to Oda.

Dragon Ball was succesful at many places on different decades, the formula just connects with people and both normies and neets love it. Toriyama may be a hack but he created something so loveable that everyone remembers it and will remember forever.

In Japan it hit in the 80's, in Europe and South America in the early 90's and in the USA in the late 90's and early 2000's

Cell would surpass the both of them. He was always on a higher level even without training. If he trained he'd be insanely strong. Likely he'd end up combining a Golden Form with SSB, since he seems to be able to use SSJ transformations. All his powerups are yellow in aura and when he returns after blowing up, he starts getting crackling energy like SSJ2 and starts to fight on par with Gohan.

True heroes go unsung and live true to themselves; Yamcha is probably one of the most well-designed characters in the entire series.

In contrast to almost every other Z fighter, Yamcha realized that he just couldn't keep up with everyone else and began to pursue his other ambitions. Yet at the same time, he is never afraid to answer the call of his friends to save the planet, all the while knowing that he will most likely end up dead again.

He is the role model for those who have hit a wall despite trying their hardest, and have the courage and inner strength to realize their own limitations. He transforms his focus on to what he can do, which is quite a lot considering how powerful he is compared to your average person.

Meanwhile everyone else has next to no character development and remain stagnant throughout the later part of the series.

The only thing Cell did was feed until he was strong enough that the Androids didn't stand a chance against him. And then Vegeta just let him win. He didn't train or anything. What he did takes less effort than running a space empire.

And Buu did in fact spend most of the story arc being the strongest character. The people who stood a chance against him didn't show up until later on and, again, he didn't have to train either. He just used an ability that he was born with in order to instantly become more powerful.

Also, regardless of how they each got their power, it's still a fact that Freeza was the only one who had goals that made any kind of sense in the long term.

After accomplishing the former, Cell just decided that the latter had no meaning & sought strong warriors to defeat. I doubt Buu had a motivation aside from sheer destruction. Kid Buu especially is more like a kid wrecking someone's sand castle than seeking anything special.

Last time I've ever seen Raditz even mentioned was Minus and I think it's the first time we've had him been mentioned as Goku's brother since the fucking Saiyan Arc, well not counting like flashback Cell Games filler.

Raditz wasn't terrible either, he could have killed Goku several times over but didn't. He just never really had any parental guidance after awhile, Gine would have smacked him upside the head treating Goku and Gohan that way.

Honestly Raditz should have been the one to live through the Saiyan Arc as much as I love Vegeta. They could play off the brother angle, the fact that the younger one is stronger just as well as low-born/prince Goku/Vegeta stuff, and have had him change as time goes on.

Dragon Ball has never had great animation. It's just people trying to find something to complain about. Sure, Super might be even worse, but it doesn't really make any sense to me to even get this worked up over the animation on a weekly TV anime in the first place. It really doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment of it. Especially since most of the "quality" shots that get posted here go by so fast that it's hard to notice them. No, I'm pretty sure genetics are exactly what make all of the saiyans in this show special. Because they're saiyans. Tien trained his whole life and couldn't keep up. The thing is that saiyans were used to breaking themselves up into classes based only on their base power level because they were ignorant space monkeys who didn't know anything about controlling their ki. Goku learned skills from Kami and King Kai that could throw those preconceptions completely out the window. And Vegeta was also able to suddenly go from being pushed around by fucking Cui to killing Dodoria and Zarbon because he figured out how to control his ki after fighting Goku. There's no reason why other saiyans wouldn't be able to achieve that too when even humans can do it.
