So I think Ishida probably realized whatever Ichigo's connection was to Yhwach early on. That's why he infiltrated the Sternritter without telling anyone. Even despite Ishida being Ishida, I don't think he'd tackle something this huge on his own. He's not THAT stupid.

I think he realized something about Ichigo, so his actions were specifically in order to keep Ichigo specifically out of the conflict. Maybe Ishida never wanted Ichigo to encounter Yhwach at all in the first place.

I think the reason for why Kubo is sending Rukia and Renji there is not so they can support Ichigo or fight alongside him, but rather so that they can escape together from Wahrwelt. I think Isshin and Ryuken will try to stall Yhwach and Haschwalth so that Ichigo and his friends can escape into the world of the living. Giselle, Bazz-B and Liltotto will also conveniently wake up and escape alongside them. They plus Uryuu will meet up with Chad and Ganju, deal with whoever controls the statues and then escape using either the sun gate or Yukio's box.

Two of the Schutzstaffel members are part of god and another is close to godhood. They were the guys that defeated Squad Zero. It makes sense that the Shinigami didn't really earn their victories, because there is actually no way they could have defeated the guys, who demolished Squad Zero and are more or less gods.
