Boring isn't objective criticism. NGL had an horrorish vibe to it and was pretty tense, Kite's death really came out of nowhere in particular so i wasn't bored. The only part i felt that dragged on was between Meruem's birth and after he met Komugi. Incidentally it's also the part Madhouse stretched the most in the anime.
Though it's true the invasion has the most memorable moments, but that's pretty reasonable considering it's the climax of the arc.
