Honestly speaking i was a redditor until 2010, when it just finally dawned on me how much of a shit eating hypocritical, backwater echo chamber it was.

I visited 4chan and i realized that for the shit reputation that it had, that it had something unique. It had its own set of unspoken rules and behaviors, there were no need (generally speaking) for mods like on reddit or outspoken sidebar rules.

The community for the most part moderated itself and fostered its own discussions with allowing to grow in an organic unfettered environment that for the most part survived horde mentality.

Its strange reputation and the elitism and apparent hostility to newfaggs was a self regulation mechanism that helped maintain board quality and slow its decline. It weeded out the special snowflakes who couldn't adapt to a community or intergrate into its culture, its similar to the migrant issue that europe is suffering from, the problem isn't having refugees the problem was that refugees refused to integrate into society and attempted to reform it for their convenience.
