Honestly, from my experiences, it's a matter of timing and the subject matter.
I posted a few sketches that got a dozen replies, even though it was nothing special.
And then same weekend, I post a fully colored piece, with background, for 2 replies.
After you draw a lot though, you start thinking of it in terms of the sum, instead of individual responses.
Or even better, you learn to not be bothered by it, and just draw cool things and enjoy the process.
