Name a show with
strong female lead
Protip: You cannt
I think some of them are. I think they where still on going by the time the anime was on production.
Since it's not particularly popular anime i don't think those would be that easy to find either... not all of them at least.
One of the few badass female protagonist who isn't outdone by supporting characters
Wahey, someone else remembers this.
I remember watching the movies then the TV series, but never reading the manga.
This is because while Masamune Shirow may have created it, quite frankly everyone else made it better.
>prosecuted minority are the main fighting force against dragons
>strong female leads gets over her rape and proceeds to kick ass with her lesbian friends
And the SJWs hated it? Why?
>while Masamune Shirow may have created it, quite frankly everyone else made it better.
Well... Apleseed made that obvious. I mean, it's essentially the same thing but without the existentialism and the contemplation of self... which makes it just shallow and generic.
This guy is the cause.
Actually it's not that hated, it's just a couple of vocal tumblerists, who most likely shitposted here as well. Tusk gets his well deserved hate but otherwise the show got decent acceptance.
I think good sci fi is about analyzing society and problematics. The Mayor of GITS comes as strong because she questions how technology affects the notion of self and possible freedom within the system.
To me that's what makes her interesting. the fact that she questions the naturalization of humans merging with technology. Since she is a cyborg that means that by questioning that she is questioning herself.
But if you take that away and she is just a cyborg policewoman she would become really dull.
As a detective she is on a position where she can act on that questioning of self and the puppet master is a vehicle for that self discovery...
Apleseed is nothing like that. Not only because Dunan is human and Briareos is the cyborg but because those questions, or any questions for that matter, need to be asked. The only relatively intersting topic there is if there could ever exist a relationship between human and machine but it's not explored, not deep enough. It's just another mission/ situation...
How many totally contrived plot twists and shoddily resolved conflicts does it take for you to consider a show a trainwreck, then? That's even before we get into the handwavy magical "science" the setting predicates itself on.
It was better than it had any right to be, but was still kind of crap.
It was discussed enough times back then. I don't care what you think or heard. It wasn't a trainwreck. The actual bad twists and asspulls were so few it doesn't make the show a wreck.
That's because this is a bat/thinly veiled rec thread. We're not being serious in the least with the exception of a few morons who haven't been in the net long enough to recognize one of these when it pops up.
>Posting drinking Akane
>Not posting Tsunemoe Akane
They didn't have a lieutenant out of Kaien's honor.
I'm saddened by the lack of love Cutey Honey gets.
Akane has an interesting strength. She's like a YN because she displays a reserved strength. However, instead of being refined, she's a potato. Instead of displaying a quiet wisdom, she's a potato. Instead of dignified self-absurdness, she's a potato.
I tried to watch because i heard the fighting animation was good
The fighting scenes were incredibly scarce and instead I was left with something so fucking boring it was unbearable to follow and a lead that had a horrible voice with dick sucking lips
The real question is, are you looking for a strong female lead, or a female lead that is strong?
