going emo again for sure, also nice detail on the colors of its outfit, clearly alphamon is behind this
I heard the title of the 3rd movie is called "Confession". Does that mean Takari? Takeru and Hikari are joined at the hip throughout the entire series, so please Toei make this happen.
>Hiromi Seki's statement was the actual nail in the coffin.
I was talking about your pic related anon.
What happens is that apparently some people believe that there are "Takari hints" in the epilogue, like this guy >>138664547 # when we know that's bullshit and in reality we got evidence that it never went canon.
It was translated years ago. And it's legit,
overexposed / nostalgia-riddled / trainwreck
godly / knuckle-head / optimist
beta / moe / chump / not leader material
meme / overrated / reactionary (doesn't adhere to the gogglehead code of honor)
dumbass / annoying
No, it's Koushiro and Meiko as can be seen by that red thing with tails reminiscent of meicoomon.
Obviously Izumi will save her and confess his feelings while Miyako makes a cameo to say she's evil now then die via walking offscreen.
How was it possible to make Mimi even more perfect than before?
>Government agents sent the 02 crew on a suicide mission against Alphamon
>Alphamon smacks them so hard they went MIA
>Alphamon being based decides to take them in and explain the situation
>Ken, having been a total insane monster in the past, goes "maverick" again and hunts down Meicoomon, but also fucks with Hime since she knows something she didn't confess to them while Alphamon told them
>The infected Ogremon was actually saving the digital world by preventing more infected Digimon from being born and swung at Hime because she was tied to the infection
>Huckmon will eventually work with Taichi to defeat a rampant Meicoomon
Alphamon has no reason to smack them. He's supposed to be the good guy. And if the secret government agency wanted help with their top secret mission wouldn't they have recruited more DigiDestined?
I like your headcanon, except the Ken part.
Ken infected leomon just by looking at him. That Ken ain't Ken, he is probably a digimon in disguise using some sort of database shit to reform itself into the appearance of Ken
Friendly reminder that Mimi only dates tall blonde American guys.
Meanwhile in an alternate universe, everyone is the opposite sex and Takeru and Hikari don't exist. Also Ryo is there.
They are memeing because the Alphamon in Cyber Sleuth was a cutie
Why did no one tell me this manga was so good? I'm upset I missed out on it all this time.
Isn't that Takeru's old outfit? Where'd Gomamon find this?
I've been thinking about it lately, I only just started recently though so I was thinking of working on my skills a bit more before I start really asking around.
I'd say the worst proper manga was Next, but even then it was just mediocre at worst.
Next also gets pretty shameless with the advertising in the later chapters but was still enjoyable.
My problem with D-Cyber is how all over the place it is. Stuff happens with no rhyme or reason.
So what's the definitive list of currently English Digimon manga that must be read? And the currently English ones that should be ignored? And the currently not English ones to keep an eye out for?
V-Tamers, Xros wars
>Shameless ad tier
And i guess that's it, noone has translated the CS manga so no idea how that is.
Does that even count as a manga?
What was the creation cycle for them anyway?
Was Toei like "Palmon looks interesting for the partner of a heroine, but none of these Adult and above Digimon look like they would work to a general observer" and made Togemon, Lilimon, and Rosemon, or is it that Bandai had a bunch more Digimon designs lying around but not yet implemented in something including them so Toei used them?
There aren't many, but pretty much just read V-Tamer and Xros Wars for the basics then Next if you fancy more (It's not as good as the others but not really bad either)
D-Cyber and Chronicle are in english but are also fairly short (14 and like 4 chapters each I think) so even if they aren't as good there's still no harm in checking them out.
Same with the very first Digimon manga C'mon Digimon, it's a one shot but its still good and shows a really early side of Digimon that just doesn't exist anymore.
Digimon designs adn evo lines come from the v pet toys, Toei grabbed the lines that made the most sense and gave it to the MC.
Funny enough, i think most of the Adventure ultimates were gradually introduced in other media, Heraklekabuterimon and Houhoumon appear in the DW 1 game as perfect level, Rosemon existed in the Vtamer manga before appearing in Savers.
I have no idea when Ophanimon, Vikemon and Seraphimon were introduced
>English ones that should be ignored
>tfw bought Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth when it came out in Japan
>tfw still bought English version upon release
>tfw enjoying it every second
>tfw I want Next Order since that one guy with the beanie is clearly Digimon World's Protagonist
Good God, these crossovers are gonna kill my wallet.
That fucking Comic was beyond funny, the storytimes in the threads were amazing.
So the timeline is
>World 1→World Re:Digitize→World Next Order
>Story DS→Story Dawn/Dusk→Story Cyber Sleuth
With Cyber Sleuth taking place after Re:Digitize due to dimension hopping Mirei? (I mean purple haired Mastemon girl)
Vikemon was originally Shakkoumon's evolution in the D3 toy.
Ophanimon was not created until a bit later.
I have no idea about Seraphimon, but I'd guess the D3 toy too.
I read Chronicle years ago. The site I downloaded it doesn't even exist anymore.
I don't think there's a direct relation between World 1 and Re:Digitize, at least not yet.
The first Story and Dawn/Dusk take place in different worlds, so does Cyber Sleuth.
Timeline is irrelevant when we're talking about Dimension hoppers. Specially Mirei. At very least the trip to fetch Ulforce V-Dramon from Rina's world happens after ReDigitize.
>Vikemon was originally Shakkoumon's evolution in the D3 toy.
Uh, that's sad, considering how awesome Valkyriemon's design is, it always sucked that Shakkoumon never got a cool design like that.
>13 years have passed since the events of Digimon World...this is equivalent to over 9000 Digi-Years (or 780 years) in the Digital World. Many changes has occurred to File Island, as its environment changes drastically, and the GIGO Company gains access of Infinity Mountain and converts it into the DigiTower for their new Internet game - Digital Monster.
From Wikimon's Re:Digitize page.
So is the digital world from Digimon World a close variant to the one from Adventure? I don't think I've ever heard the name File Island used anywhere else.
haven't finished frontier or started savers yet, or read any of the mangas
Yeah, you wouldn't know unless you read promotional material or official summaries or anything. It seems to be intended as more of a spiritual successor while Next Order seems to be acting as more of a proper sequel, especially since it has Hiro in it. Although it also has Mirei and Rina from Re:Digitize, so.
Yeah, and the pathetic letters to the editor.
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN ZERO TWO DIED
keep in mind digimon tri is taking place in roughly 2005
File Island comes from the Virtual Pets backstory, I think. V-Tamer namedrops it in the first chapter, and it is in a Digital World map released in mid-2000s along with Folder (whichis also from the early Virtual Pet days and main setting for V-Tamer) and places that never showed up in any anime and manga like WWW Contient and the Forest of the Gods
So yeah featuring File Island doesn't mean it's related, it's one of the stock names that get reused a lot like Net Ocean.
Frontier was pretty fun with an interesting and different concept with Digimon meets Super Sentai. It did lack in giving the other kids something to do when it shited to the Kouji and Takuya show. Still it's pretty good and all the characters came out the ordeal better people. Savers was full on shounen but really lacked development for it's characters and seemed to focus on the hot bloodedness. Akso they dropped the ball with not using the Demon Lords as a group.
Back in Digimon World the time passed slowly in the Digital World. Hiro spends months (possibly years) there yet returns to the Human World in the same afternoon he left.
Not sure about Re:Digitize.
Even though I bought Cyber Sleuth, I don't read Japanese, can't read it, but understood what I was doing by memorizing characters and reading the atmosphere they would create.
But it was fun.
I'm not buying Next Order twice since I struggled with Re:Digitize, but will buy it if localized.
I'm going to wait for a bit to see how voiced Next Order is first, if it's voiced as much as Cyber Sleuth was I'll probably buy it since I can understand a lot of Japanese by ear from growing up with a jap friend.
>Koushiro confesses to Mimi
>She says she can't be with someone who isn't honest unless it's out of spite
>Takeru confesses to Hikari
>She says she can't be with someone who isn't
True Character Development Hype Train.
So as someone who hasn't played anything other than Re:Digitize, is World 1 gonna be a step backwards as far as mechanics and the general game system goes? Is it the equivalent of DQ1 vs DQ8?
Pretty much. World 1 is also much harder in getting Digimon, getting Greymon is actually a bit of a struggle unlike in Re:Digitize. Still totally playable though, I just recently replayed it.
Yes. DW isn't as beginner friendly, and your training isn't as easy.
It has a game breaking bug, though I don't remember what it was about.
Recruiting pixiemon can be a bitch.
I like it's dungeon crawling, but it's certainly not for everyone.
The story doesn't really have anything special but I like it more militaristic ambientation.
Also it was the first Digimon to have a supercomputer as the villain long before Yggdrasil.
There were these really cool digimon that would fight dominimon, regulumon and someone else in vtamers. I distinctly remember a skelly mage looking guy, i'm still sad those guys were never made canon, Skullsatamon could have used an evo.
Hikari: Wow, this is exciting! People are already lining up for Yamato's concert!
Tailmon: Don't worry, Hikari. We'll be sure to get good seats! Especially after you bring
Daisukethose homemade cookies!
Hikari: I hope.
Takeru: Hikari-chan! Wait up!
Palmon: Something smells good!
Gabumon: Yamato's busy getting ready. But I'll take those to him! Mmm!
Tailmon: Oh, no you won't! You'll eat the whole thing yourself!
Gabumon: Why, I resent that. I'm on a diet.
Takeru: So, Hikari-chan? Are you going to the concert with anyone? Not that it matters...
Takeru: No. I want to be available in case
Daisukeis free afterwards. Hmm.
Takeru: Oh. I see.
Takeru: It's okay.
Hikari: You're not mad at me, Takeru-kun?
Takeru: Of course not. Now, get in there and say 'Hi' to niisan for me.
Hikari: Thanks, Takeru.
Palmon: The least you could do is leave us the cookies.
Hikari: Tell you what. I'll make some special ones for you.
Takeru: I'll be waiting. Thanks.
Palmon: You know what, Takeru?
Palmon: You've really grown up.
Hey guys, trying to brush up on my Digimon lore.
It's my understanding that before Taichi and the others, there were a group of 5 chosen that had the same mission however they failed.
Do we have any information on these 5 chosen?
Were they killed or did they just fail and give up?
Do we have any idea who their partners were?
Additionally, it was revealed in 02 that Ken had a digivice and was originally supposed to join the 01 cast but was held behind and got stuck in his own digital world adventure with Ryo. During this time, Ken got infected with the initial dark seed that made him the Digimon Kaiser, right? I just want to make sure that was correct and I am remembering it correctly.
We don't know anything about the identities of the previous chosen children group. But they apparently did succeed in defeating the being who crossed the wall of fire. The Adventure kids were called because it was happening all over again, not because the previous group failed.
And you are correct about Ken.
wouldn't the 5 first children possibly be sent to a different dimension? If Ken and Ryo did, why not the first 5 children? There is no trace of them ever appearing to Taichi and company being in the same universe, maybe it was a different mission, what was that mission anyways?
>Do we have any information on these 5 chosen?
They fought something and sealed it behind the Wall of Fire.
>Do we have any idea who their partners were?
The Adventure novel, written years later to connect Adventure with 02, hinted that their partners became the Holy Beasts. No idea what the 5th Holy Beast is.
I think it's entirely a shame we'll never see things like C'mon Digimon or even V-Tamer again. I know it's only because they came so early in the franchise but they are both so unique it's almost refreshing rereading them now.
>we will never get to play any of the Ryo games in english
>The Adventure novel, written years later to connect Adventure with 02, hinted that their partners became the Holy Beasts. No idea what the 5th Holy Beast is.
Oh shit nigga I fancy myself a Digimon expert and I didn't even know this. Where can I read about this some more?
>yfw you will never see Neodevimon ever again
I'm still mad that Next made
the fallen form of Holyangemon into Murmuxmon
Just be happy it appeared in more stuff and has Bandai official art. Callismon didn't have the same luck.
He does have one solitary card, but that was part of a special V-Tamer booster and uses manga art.
I'm still mad we never saw this guy again.
Here is how this movie series will play out.
1. Ryo will make another grand appearance.
2. Ryo will reveal that the Ken Ichijouji we see as the Digimon Kaiser is a data copy
3. Ryo will reveal that the 02 cast is being held captive by clone Ken and using them as a power source to create evil digimon and distortions
4. Ryo will NOT currently have a Digimon partner, Monodramon is currently missing
5. Clones of Daisuke, Inoue, and Iori appear all wearing Digimon Kaiser style outfits
6. Mega/Ultimate forms will be created for their partner digimons to give them a presence as formidable foes, these could be forced evolutions like SkullGreymon and not be their natural line choice
7. New Jogress forms will exist in this manner: HeraclesKabuterimon and Seraphimon will Jogress, Holydramon and Hououmon will Jogress.
8. Hackmon makes himself known and Ryo naturally bonds with him
9. Ryo showcases Matrix evolution with Hackmon to the 01 cast
10. Ultimately the final battle with whatever is controlling the 02 chosen will end with Taichi and Yamato matrix evolving with Agumon and Gabumon
I honestly feel bad for the people who won those contests. Most Digimon that won those fan contests were properly made into Digimon and the ones for the Xros Wars contests actually showed up in series, but those few never saw the light of day. You'd feel so bad.
>What would Agumon and Gabumon matrix evolve into?
Don't know. Maybe something brand new. That would create a lot of hype and create something they could sell.
>And what happens to Monodramon?
Maybe it wasn't able to jump through dimensions again.
Only reason Ryo was even in Tamers was because of his popularity. He was easily the most popular digimon related character at the time.
There are actually a lot of Digimon from contests that didn't end up doing much. Hell, Wikimon doesn't even have a page for some of them.
>Break Sorato up
>Taiora fans get hope
>Add a ton of shipping both ways
>Sorato are going to get back together
>All that hope is for not
>Taiora fans will have to settle for the new girl
15 years later and it will still hurt
I wish at least there would be photos of the original entries for these. Some of them sound really interesting like Technodramon. Is it a Sea/Airdramon made out of cybernetics? A Mugendramon-like Digimon but with a different body structure?
Don't NTR Monodramon, he deserves screen time too.
The problem there is that Digimon like Technodramon are from the Dot Art contests, so what you see on it's page is literally all there is.
I think the Dot Art contest was actually a clever way to do it, since you still could pretty much design it however you want and only had a very basic outline from the contest to go by.
Fuckin Royal Knight glory hogs. Ryo's Monodramon was the cutest.
Maybe they just don't like those guys.
I ain't taking anything back.
Pure slut. She had sex with the whole school, has daisuke and takeru as her sex slaves and manservants and only pretends to be a nice girl when her brother is near, indirectly seducing him so he's the one who makes the first move
Shit, kuwagamon must be crushed.
>Everyone's back, including the 02 Kids
>Through the light of the nine Crests, Omegamon reaches a new form
>Omegamon emits a light that envelops the 02 Chosens' Digimon
>They all evolve to their Ultimate levels
Imperialdramon just turns to Paladin Mode rather than Stingmon branching off into its own Ultimate level
I know i know. They can all evolve into damn near everything. But it just feels weird to me to actually see 2 different digimons share a final form in anime. I'd like to think that each rookie had their own personal endgame in these universes.
That's more because Digimon designs are generally very different today than anything else.
Hackmon is a Child and also will stick in the eventual scenes he will share with the chosen children digimon.
One has Burst Mode
Causing the main character who has never shown any interest in girls to fall in love with her would be worse writing than Hikari ever had. If Meiko and Taichi end up together it would just prove that she was added only to be shipping bait and not an actual character.
>she is evil looking
What, why? The exposed panties?
I'm not saying Meicoomon isnt bad, just saying this isn't new to the series.
>over the top design
>adult base form
>leomon can't resist
>wins cuteness contest
>has burst mode
>source of infection
>all this against will
>evil against will
>partner has large chance of ending up with main character
>partner has black digivice infected with weird red dna cross
>takes the honor of performing the leomon sacrifice ritual
>Evil Miyako with edgy Valkyrimon
Might be cool. Needs more Evil Iori with edgy Plesiomon
If that's all that her character amounts to then yes.
If her development and actions are mostly unrelated to that then not really.
That said I don't even think that will happen.
I doubt Armadimon's gonna evolve into Cherubimon. They already used Cherubimon in Hurricane Touchdown. Also, Armadimon isn't even a Holy species Digimon so it'd be weird for it to evolve into an archangel without Angemon.
02 isn't named 02 because it's the second series, but because it takes places in 2002, the original does not take place in 2001. So the referring to the original crew as 01 is not accurate. :^)
It's like saying the mon in digimon is a file extension (misinformation).
I would also have prefered something new. There wouldn't be all this shitposting, for one.
But I actually like when digimon tries new ideas and every series did that, to varying degrees of sucess.
For what it is though I'm really enjoying Tri.
Personally, it's the animations that get me
Depends on if they decide Iori's Armadimon can become Shakkoumon on it's own now or not. Those 02 jogress mons will always be more Daisuke's, Miyako's, and Iori's than Ken's, Hikari's, and Takeru's.
>yfw Meicoomon turns out to be a X-Antibody version of Mikemon
Like I said, they already used Cherubimon for Wallace's Lopmon in Hurricane Touchdown. I've never seen a Digimon show give two non-minor humans the same Digimon within the same continuity. That's literally never happened.
I meant more for Armadimon's mega being any kind of holy mega digimon in general. If they stick with Shakkoumon it wouldn't be weird to have some kind of angel mega, and I agree Cherubimon would be a disappointing choice.
>yfw Iori receives Takeru's Digimental of Hope and Miyako receives Hikari's Digimental of Life, combine them with their own Digimentals and somehow achieve stronger forms with them
That'd be cool, I think. And it's not like Takeru and Hikari need their Digimentals. Unless the Kaiser brings back Dark Towers. That'd be swell, wouldn't it? A big ol' Dark Tower right in the middle of the city.
>war great mon
>great war, mon
>the nips have secretly been complimenting the US on their performance in the pacific theater this entire time
Did they visit America in 02? Think I only watched the dub back in the day, so they probably changed America to some other country at the time.
Who were the digi destined kids in America?
probably some boring cliché like "Im pretending to be bad in order to make you guys stronger" or "Im pretending to be part of the bad guys group so the bad guys doesn't do badder stuff"
>The Original Digimon Super Entry Contest (オリジナルデジモン超応募大会 Orijinaru Dejimon Chou Oubo Taikai) is a (usually) annual event held in Japan where fans are encouraged to send in their own, created digimon. The top ranking one(s) are made into official digimon. (Under Construction)
>What does this mean? XDDD
>That kid who proposed the kabuterimon
is basically the 4th panel of this comic
Ryo games, since they don't have a silent protagonist and some nostalgia bait to go with them.
None of these retained the fandesign. What is the point of the contest?
Veggiemon's fanmade had 2 mouths, one in his head and another in his hand. That's pretty fucking cool.
That kabuterimon could be made into a digimon without changing a single thing, its a great drawing.
Why would they do this?
>That kabuterimon could be made into a digimon without changing a single thing, its a great drawing.
I'll give them the kabuterimon, kids wasn't creative tbqh Zen3.14
The fuck is a gravity beetle? The kid copied the design from somewhere else? What a shitty kid.
Snowman could be a rookie, yet he is nowhere to be found in the digimon database.
So Snimon is Dark Mantis, Yanmamon is Commander Yammark, Kuwagamon is Kuwanger, Waspmon is Blast Hornet, Mothmon is Morph Moth, so who are Scaravitch, Antonion, and Izzy Glow?
>post your face when meicoomon becomes the new poster pokemon of the franchise
Nah, the rest of them are Godzilla bosses.
Lilithmon is lust yet is monogamous.
Venusmon is love yet is surrounded by digimon that are essentially love slaves.
Now add in rosemon x and you get a harem so beautiful that just looking at it is hazardous to your health.
tfw no dark masters
why dis new show
Damn, Adventure villains were the fucking best.
02 had some good villains too, like mummymon and ken arc, beyond that it was shit.
Tamers was literally shit in the villain department from start to finish.
well, beelzemon was fun, but yeah, the Devas were underwhelming and didn't feel like a threat at all, one gets to obliterate a city block then other gets killed by 2 adult digimon
Tamers has no real villains besides the D-Reaper.
And even then the D-Reaper was just following it's programming.
So yeah if you want charismatic mustache twirling villains Adventure is the place to go.
Frontier has some cool ones too.
Most Deva were more akin to monsters of the week than to main villains like Devimon or Vamdemon though. Try thinking back of all the lame motw Adventure has too. The antagonist was Zhuqiaomon.
>how he single handedly ruined a show that was already bad
Mugendramon at least got some backstory in the Ryo games. He went bitter and twisted because he waited forever for his partner who never came.
But yeah Piemon and MetalSeadramon have nothing. At least Piemon is entertaining.
>I really wanted to see more machinedramon
>Is the Agumon of one of the first chosen children
>When they failed, he abandoned Agumon
>Lost in the darkness, Piedmon took it under its wing and trained it until it became Machinedramon
>digimon based on toys meant to sell instead of making toys based on digimon
>toys were so shit it almost ruined digimon entirely
I always thought machinedramon should have been the last master they fought kinda like how he is also the final boss in DW1
Didnt care for piedmon and his silly clown antics, he is not menacing
>change timeslot to 6am on a Sunday
>ratings inevitably go to shit
>getting upset at the Japanese for one of the few times they had good taste
And they moved it to that timeslot since no one was buying the toys.
The bad part is no lilithmon and mervamon action figures but then again it's not like they were ever gonna be made.
He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Xros Wars wasn't a success but didn't do any serious damage either.
It performed well for the timeslot it got placed from Death Generals onwards.
Xros Wars toys are absolutely terrible and sold accordingly.
Though it apparently did better than they expected in the new timeslot but by then the toyline was pretty much discontinued.
I don't remember if they sealed or actually destroyed the evil from beyond the Wall of Fire.
I think it's the latter. Then the story started repeating itself (something comes from there and warps the Digitar World) and they once again called human children.
Apocalymon is impled to be cyclical. He's made of data of the digimon erased during the evolution process. It is possible that one being like that appears over time again and again.
A lot less dead. Not long after Savers the card game got discontinued, and there were no games for a time.
Xros Wars was part of a franchise revitalization That doesn't mean much as it's just a small part of the new products that started coming out though.
Since that time there was always something digimon-related coming out, like the mobage and several games.
