Silver Link is not that Bad Edition.
Let's take this time to thank SL for bringing Mari to life with their animation,
and not think about how they will butcher the vol 5 adaptation with the filler episode.
In other words, let's think positive.
So far I've got this:
I'm new to this, how do I make it even better?
>mfw I copy and pasted the wrong thing
Better than last nights.
Rereading Volume 1, I just remembered that there were other 3 members of the platoon that just left. One joined a cult, one suffered a mental illness, and the other ran away. Takeru wasn't also the original captain
Why is he so cool?
and a refreshing change of pace after all the female principal or loli principal cliches
He reminds me of this guy.
Although having the same VA probably contributes a lot to that.
I guess people are not that interested in Mari are they?
I love Mari but there wasn't much of her this episode.
>yfw no magic academy animated which is just Mari and Lapis being cute.
>no magic academy animated which is just best girl sexualizing her harem
Maybe I can bribe the author into having her win and living a long, happy life. Considering how low it is, I might be able to double the sales of his last novel.
The fact that this is a harem is what keeps me away even though I have mild interest. I just know for a fact that she won't get the focus she deserves (since she has to compete with other girls) and the show will end in an unsatisfactory way because of that.
Episode was average and we have to delay our excitement for Volume 5 another week. If the threads are the die, let them be. Anything worth discussing, we already talked about
Silver Link is absolute total garbage. Rush 4 volumes worth of content neglecting every-fucking-thing and then add a fucking fanservice filler!
this guy is fucking right. Fucking utter garbage studio.
and maybe Kiseki toois the main girl with Ouka and Mari on the sidelines
>not getting the focus she deserves
I'm sorry if I'm messing with your expectations here, but Mari is relevant in pretty much everything in this series.
Other than main girl Ouka she gets a shit ton of scenes and gets the most shit done plot wise. So if you're worried about that then you really shouldn't be.
Read the LNs, her scenes are some of the best to read even if they are filled to the brim with asspull nonsense.
And we love her for that.
Volume 11 still proves that Mari pulled some of the most left-field shit in the series.
It goes beyond Takeru's lightspeed
>Mari was able to use 『Sun』 and 『Moon』 by applying 『Aurora』 property alone.
What absolute twaddle. But Mari is cute, so we allow it.
Need I say more?
Watch all we need to fix Takeru's demon baby problem is have him pump it into Mari and her Aurora magic will do the work. Why? Who the fuck knows, it's Mari so it'll probably work itself out.
Well Kirin's are considered an Eastern equivalent of the western Unicrons in terms of mythological reverence. But yeah, broken as hell and killed everything. Only to disappear and all the mooks it killed are quickly replaced.
Pretty sure the author was just trying to fill up space there.
Rushed as hell being a constant factor, I think this arc actually skipped the least amount of things compared to the others.
How can a girl be so cute? Is it that mischievous smile? the scarf? Kanae Itou's perky voice? In this season dominated by waifufag catering anime, she wins this by a landslide.
Considering how that world is, odds are they're dead.
I honestly don't know, it's not like her design is particularly unique or anything. But the scarf and hat combo somehow make her absolutely adorable.
Plus the hat tilt she does instantly gives her a badass look. Cute and awesome at the same time, literally perfection.
While the filler does grind my nerves a lot, at the very least we might get swimsuit Mari. So cheers to that.
I was thinking more along the lines of beachwear anon. You can never have too much variety in terms of Mari clothing.
I still feel cheated out of her platoon uniform, so this is the bare minimum that I need out of SL at this point.
Yeah, but if she survived then there Kana's character development would be pretty much non-existent right?
Besides the harem is fine as it is, five is a very balanced number and I like that it stays that way.
Needs the actual boss mix of the song, the one without the vocals and starts with an instrumental buildup before the RULES OF NATURE.
I'm pretty sure there's a guy on Youtube who recreated it.
>no drawn out tournament plot
>school aspect is barely there
>linear plot progression throughout
The plot certainly isn't original, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it is cliche. Predictable for sure, but it is very entertaining for the most part; and no subplot overstays it's welcome in my opinion.
It is definitely much different than the other battle harems airing right now. The setting and the tone (at least novel wise) sets it apart in my eyes.
Plus the girls all actual do shit and continue to do shit throughout the story; instead of being harem target of the week. Which is always nice to see.
Like almost all studios that don't have inhouse talent, I personally blame the actual staff instead and whoever thought it was a good idea to hire an amateur director for this.
Blaming studios themselves always lead to far too hasty generalizations.
>harem target of the week
Isn't that basically what we got there?
First the redhead, then the bunny girl, then the mahou shoujo, then the scientist. I saw a pattern right there.
>shit starts getting real in volume 5
>Kiseki is an abomination
>Mari is a walking, talking, very cute deus ex machina
>Ouka is the temporary captain of the platoon in volume 7
>Mari almost dies in volume 11
>something with unicorns wanting to protect her smile or whatnot
>listen to the MGR OST
That's about it. I essentially know nothing of what goes on between volumes 7 and 11, and whatever I do know of the series is vague enough to be relatively meaningless.
Why didn't Sougetsu just let Mother Goose and Orochi do whatever they want? Their ultimate purpose really aligned and if they co-operate then things could've turned out differently in favor for both sides.
That's pretty okay then. Sometimes being spoiled the right information really boost your enjoyment of a series.
Reminder that most of the ACTUAL EFFORT went into this. In fact this is the best LN adaptation of the season.
Well that's the thing, those episodes just covered the "intro" volumes. They were all written to setup the basic plot, and introduce the characters with their individual subplots.
The key thing being that those weren't just "monster of the week" type of story telling, but interconnected and they lead the buildup to the main plot. In the other harem shows the girls stories are largely independent, they can be rearranged since there's no real linear story to them. Aside from the bunny's volume this isn't the case, since taking out one of the girl's stories make parts of the main one not make sense. (Alchemist in Ikaruga's, Valhalla in Mari's, Inquisition shit in Ouka's, Heretic Alliance in Bunny's).
Which isn't the impression the anime really conveys since it skims over most of the foreshadowing that makes this obvious. Basically, each girl gets their focal volume but their role in the harem and getting the desire for the MC's dick isn't the point of them.
Damn shame too
Sougetsu's goal isn't really compatible with theirs, he wants the world to be destroyed while they want it do be recreated.
Sougetsu is (obviously) a lot like Loki in the original myths. It doesn't really matter how the man feels, Loki is always fated to be the one who leads to the world's destruction. And there is nothing that can change that. Even if Sougetsou did see Orochi's and Mother Goose's plan as reasonable, he wouldn't be capable of carrying it out. Because it is his purpose to bring about the world's destruction.
If you're into Warhammer it's a lot like Archaon and him being destined to become the Everchosen and bringer of the End Times. Which makes sense because he is also the Loki of that setting in function. It doesn't matter what happens during the journey, the end result is all that matters.
Fun fact, that is the reason why the English word "Destiny" is spelled that way, because all that matters is the "Destination".
I should note that the spoiler part is a bit of an oversimplification on the subject; wouldn't want to go into the details about Greek/Norse word origins and shit.
Speaking of Rakudai, are the novels actually interesting? I tried to read the first volume and it didn't really catch my attention at all.
Wasn't his ultimate goal is suicide? Destroying the world = he's dead, Takeru becomes God Hunter = he's dead. And considering that what Orochi and Mother Goose were doing is pretty close to destroy the world, I think they're pretty aligned. What's original "destruction of the world" in the Old Norse mythology? Is it the wipe out of all living being or literally destroy the world existence?
The LNs shows alot on the relationship and the increasing motivation to win. 3rd volume is the most lewd that is translated and it asks for s*x. Dammit I cant use spoilers function.
I wouldn't blame you, adaptation is pretty lackluster. I wouldn't even be this irked if they skipped the filler and did Volume 5 in 4 episodes.
At this point, I'm just sticking around for the voice work and maybe seeing Kurogane and Kyouya's Witch Hunter forms
Well Sougetsou does want to die, but that desire is really just an extension of his overall desire for everything to end. The best way to make everything be destroyed is for him to die since his existence as the current god is keeping it around.
As for the actual Myth, Norse mythology is interesting because the end is also the beginning. In other words the end of the Norse Gods was predetermined from the start.
No matter what happens the world of the gods would be destroyed. Loki was always destined to bring about the death of all the Norse Gods, Thor was destined to be killed by Jormungandr, and Odin is destined to be killed by Fenrir.
The Norse were really big on the idea of not being able to fight fate. Hence why Sougetsou has an obsession with destruction, he really has no choice in the matter.
I think some people are trying to go for irony or something. But kind of fail at it since you're making yourself look like a 12 year old, ironically or not.
Same reason why they don't know the keyboard shortcut to use a damn spoiler: Newfags. Another reminder to me that all dedicated threads to current airing show is crawling with faggots, no wonder there are so many generals.
>I couldn't use the damn spoilers function so I had to make it kinda subtle. Maybe I should have said snu snu or some shit.
Or alternatively, you could take a gun and kill yourself.
We also have that one anon who can't stop putting exclamation points on everything
You might as well quit while you're ahead, just digging yourself deeper at the moment.
There really wasn't a need to spoiler it, just say sex.
And sure we gave you shit for censoring yourself, but it would have been better to just ignore that and continue posting without calling attention to yourself.
I admit I'm one of the OPs who used edition, by accident (I'm not this threads OP though). But the exclamation point anon is kind of silly, he always does it in three's too.
If you had tried using a spoiler at all, it would've shown like this
[/ spoiler] or this or similar fuck up. And I don't give a shit about your damn reasons, nobody does, nobody should give a shit about anyone reasons for not following the (jungle) rules of the board. If you can't post properly then don't post at all, is lurking, reading and trying to fit in to hard for you?
This place is not for you, why don't you go away to some friendlier, normalfagger places like reddit or some thing, that will benefit both of us.
No, don't reply. Just stop, go away.
>Hence why Sougetsou has an obsession with destruction, he really has no choice in the matter.
Woah, that's pretty neat, and considering Yaganami really like Norse mythology he might actually thought about that while making Sougetsu.
>As for the actual Myth, Norse mythology is interesting because the end is also the beginning. In other words the end of the Norse Gods was predetermined from the start.
>inb4 Kiseki managed to destroy the world for real and Takeru failed to stop it
>everybody dies except for Takeru
>The world is created a new by NUCLEAR Takeru contracting with Gungnir
Assuming some Ragnarock shit happens, I'm still betting my chips on
Lapis taking away the demonic essence from Takeru's soul and sacrificing herself so he can have a happy life. Kiseki's fate is something I'll need to think about.
>"...she's a good girl."
>Takeru narrowed his eyes and muttered heartily.
>It would be good to have a girl like that with us... if that were the case she would heal him up... he got to the school gate while thinking like that.
>Suddenly, his name was called out.
>Next to the stone pillar with the school's nameplate on it, a silhouette with a muffler wrapped around her neck.
>"Mari? Didn't you go back early?"
>"...I was waiting."
>She held a student bag, Mari's moderate figure was strangely graceful and girly causing him to skip a beat.
>Mari lively closed in on Takeru, and looked up at him as she bent her waist down.
>"Let's go home together."
>With a deadly smile, causing Takeru to almost stop thinking.
>What's this. His heart was pounding really hard. He had a bittersweet feeling.
>Twilight. Going home from school. Hustle and bustle in the distance. Autumn wind stroking his cheek.
>Let's go back together. Just by being told that, his youth obtained something unexpected...
>"I-I don't really mind... which direction are you going? Our directions might be different."
>He blundered and scratched his cheek almost blurting out the fact that he can't read the mood. Calm down, calm down. me, he repeated to himself.
>Perhaps because of the setting sun and the current situation, but Mari looked strangely cute.
>"What are you talking about? Isn't it obvious we're going the same way."
>"I-is that right?"
>"That's right, because."
>Mari turned back with a twirl, and only faced her head his way.
>"Because I'm going to Takeru's house now."
>Her hair and the scarf fluttered on the wind. She looked godly, Takeru was astounded.
You know I'm mostly fine with SL's adaptation, but I was really disappointing in how underwhelming this scene was in the anime.
LN's version was great and really nailed Mari's coy nature; especially since she was doing it just to mimic the cliche anime/manga trope. But instead of that all we got was an actual cliche version.
Alright you faggots, let's play a game.
Let's guess on what we're NOT going to get.
>Takeru visits Kiseki
>Kurogane fights Kiseki
>The crew out in the town hunting a perp
>Kiseki breaks out and meets Takeru
>Kurogane stops fight
>Kiseki is put into transport and Takeru despair
>Kurogane preps against Orochi
>Kyouya vs Takeru
>Takeru vs Kiseki
You don't think there isn't going to be a single scene of build up before Kyouya actually shows to fight right?
The world was in fact, already destroyed by Kiseki in vol 11. Didn't she dive into the earth to gobble up the core? It means the world is already dead, but hasn't noticed it yet.
>Woah, that's pretty neat, and considering Yaganami really like Norse mythology he might actually thought about that while making Sougetsu
It's admittedly mostly conjecture on my part, however I think his conversation with Comfy Nagaru is a good indication for it. While it is clear he is enjoying himself, there is a sort of resignation to it. Like he is doing something just for the sake of doing it, and is trying to make it as entertaining as he can before the end.
The demon bit is kind of unclear to be honest, so we don't actually know if it can affected at all by
Considering that demons aren't really a thing in Norse myth (at least the version we get in AntiMagic), I'm not discounting the fact that they existed
before the world collision shit yet.
Considering the setting, I'm pretty sure it'll never be "fixed", but who knows. I'm sure an asspull is waiting around the corner in some shape or form.
And I'm betting on Kiseki will be dead having her humanity restored. Although the overall theme of the story is hope, having everyone survived without a scratch in the end is too good of an outcome because the story is dark at the same time. Kiseki will be dead for the peace of the world and Takeru will moved on somehow due to the fact that Kiseki no longer willed dead but sacrifice herself for the world or something like that. The key to Takeru mental recovery is Kisekis' humanity.
>any scene involving Kurogane
I'm pretty sure the director must have a hate boner for the character or his voice actor, since he has had a criminally small amount of screentime so far.
I think the reason Mari is so great is that she is 100% dere all the time. She's constantly hungering for Takeru's attention in the cutest way possible, and gets so excited whenever she gets princess held or anything, all without being a bitch to the other girls or tsun to Takeru (except Ouka but she usually deserves it).
>Kurogane fights Kiseki
Even the novel didn't narrate this part, no chance SL is going to do it.
>>The crew out in the town hunting a perp
Showed briefly for the sake of leading to Kiseki meeting, also fanservice of Mari and Usagi. Also date because fanservice again.
Nope, he will probably show up out of nowhere at the last moment and narrating his entire story up to that point or his role will be retconned to cut the Takeru and Kyouya fight, leaving times for something else.
Fuck. Reset ending then, let's meet again in a better world! Fuck. This train just have no break isn't it? Kurogane better popped in and save the day.
The demons, monsters and vampire existence was explained in vol 11.
They didn't exist before the collision in either world, they were created out of gods' power turned magic to accommodate the changes. So they're 100% native to the new world. Basically, think of it as pre-collision human world's myths turning real because of magic appearing.
I can imagine the convoy attack being super cut, although that does go on for ages to be fair. Kurogane and Orochi are going to be basically non existant along with Kanarias role. Kyouya will also probably lose most his lines/development, and I expect that Kiseki's condition won't be fleshed out properly.
He's shown up quite a lot actually, which is the surprising part. He's had a speaking line for a good chunk of them.
>Even the novel didn't narrate this part, no chance SL is going to do it.
If anything, just the scenes leading up to it and Kurogane getting ready was the scene I had in mind
Well he was supposed to get his legs torn off, which I don't think was actually shown.
The hospital scenes and clone Akira's existence are also not shown. So yeah, he's definitely going to appear out of nowhere.
Ah, that makes a whole lot of sense, thanks that detail must have gone over my head.
>Fuck. Reset ending then, let's meet again in a better world!
I keep saying this, but I'm telling you guys having a scene where they are all briefly showed a view of the new world Cosmo Entellecheia style and rejecting it would be fucking amazing.
I'm going to be happy as fuck seeing anyway but it's not going to make the most sense for the anime only's.
Like somewhere in the filler or at the first episode of Volume 5's adaptation, I'm going to expect one fucking scene. JUST ONE. There would be no goddamn point putting him in the opening goddamn it
I like the background in this one though but yeah, I agree on the lack of cool poses. There's barely any of Takeru, Kyouya, or Kurogane at all.
I also appreciate having color spreads be on group shots instead of fanservice shots.
I am now looking forward to the Another Mission stories much more than I did previously.
Please continue on kind anon.
Any Mari pics?
BEAR THE MARK OF MY SCARS
SHEDDING BLOOD UNDERNEATH THE STARS
BUT I WILL SURVIVE SOMEHOW
There needs to be another Metal Gear Rising game, just so we could have more songs for this shit.
walking her gently. Too much for my heart to take.
When Takeru goes literal light speed, I can hear this in my head.
The most compelling reason for Takeru and Mari to get together is for Takeru to be able to tell Haunted "I FUCKED YOU'RE WAIFU" a la Embryo from Cross Ange.
>She should have to deal with the constant hostility and harassment and abuse of her inquisition surroundings
Except she does have this happen to her, hence why she hangs out with the platoon so often despite not being officially part of it.
She didn't care about hiding her identity as a witch, so everybody else in the Academy sees her as a target. Not that the anime tells you this at all.
At least use a better picture of IF
It's not a normal high school, its a military school in a post-apocalyptic world, a serious setting. Don't think bullying would happen unless they want to be thrown out.
Moreover, for most of the time other students don't know Mari is a witch, even after they learn that, soon after Mari and others leave the school (within a month or two). Bullying in a high school with superpowers is cliche and unrealistic.
Has the Stella shitposter been replaced with an IF one?
Cause as much as I love the Nep series this is a pretty obnoxious comparison.
And Mari actually stays relevant in the series, unlike IF who immediately becomes useless in your party once you recruit some CPUs.
I still like both of them though.
He avoided the first one's thrust and slashed him.
Dodged the second one's horizontal swing and crushed his head.
Crushed the third one's upwards slash along with his body,
Bisected the fourth knight along with his shield bash.
Protected himself from the fifth and sixth's simultaneous bow and sword's attack with a sword-drawing technique's flash,
Blocked the seventh's spear thrust from above and finished him by thrusting from below,
Parried the eighth and ninth's overlapping attacks by splendidly rotating and cut them both in half.
Showered the horseback-riding tenth knight's horse legs with slashes,
Pulverized the large-bodied eleventh knight in a sword clash.
Fuck, even the first volume was pretty cool.
I've been lazily skimming these threads lately so I have no clue, only seen his picture posted twice though, but I assume it's been the same guy so I told to at least a cuter picture.
True, IF's look in the newest spinoff game is pretty cute though. Shame there aren't any decent pictures (at least without watermarks) around yet.
Except she does get bullied, or at least harassed in some way. She notes how different the Magic Academy was specifically because of that.
Her status as a Witch made her an anomaly looked at with disdain at the Inquisition's academy, so she felt uncomfortable not getting any of that in the Magic one.
Fanservice Budget: Shomin Sample
Action Budget AND Fanservice Budget: Rakudai
No surprises on what we got, I guess.
I haven't watched the anime at all. Is it going to have Santa Mari?
It's kind of a background detail, Takeru's narration goes over it while thinking about Mari's constant presence in the Platoon room or something along those lines.
Nothing directly shown last I recall, though I'm kind of fine with that since we didn't get a bullying arc or some shit.
No bullying the Mari!
She might end up liking it.
Now I just need to see her holding hand with Takeru.
No one give a fuck about LN adaption's "action budget"(if i want action i go with one sale man or Gundam), and Rakudai's fanservice is trash.
You can go back to your basement now.
I always thought Mari had the most, at least in terms of LN illustrations. But I've never actually counted. But I'm guessing the fanservice factor, since she is pretty marketable appearance wise I guess.
Since we're on the topic, anybody know the ratio for the girls in the illustrations? Makes me wonder if the artist has a favorite he likes to draw or something.
Too many girls
Fair amount of Kurogane
Absolutely no Kyouya outside one color art
Who's that guy who kept coloring these illustrations?
Last I heard, someone from dA.
Sidestory volume with some side characters would be really nice.
Like Yoshimizu and Nero talking about Kyouya and having him hear what they say and be too embarrassed to enter the room
Kudos to him, the guy really love the series doesn't he?
Maybe I should buy the series too, seeing the number of sales so low makes me hurt. Can I grab this off from jp amazon?
Because WAR, WAR NEVER CHANGES.
On a side note. I still can't decide if I want to make love to Usagi or take care of her, in a daughteru way.
Don't you have a filler episode to be directing?
Why does Ouka even have to get involved? Takeru could just put on his armor and have Mari constantly blasting him with her magic cum.
Daily reminder that Kiseki-chan is doing her best!
What does Mari's magic cum taste like?
I can't stop listening to this line. I want to have sex with her voice.
Takeru would never hate Mari for being a witch since his sister is something worse, and the other two don't have that problem because of their backgrounds. Plus people in school do hate Mari, that's why she has to stay with the Platoon all the time since they are her only friends/are the only people who tolerate, and they have to blackmail the chairman to keep her in school.
Hands off, she's mine.
please somebody put me out of my misery
Lapis a cute. A CUTE.
At least we have this
Speaking of Nero, what was even the point of putting her human form in the OP with Kyouya? Or the rest of the 15th platoon? They've had even less appearances than Christmas Cake.
They will appear next volume or something, who knows if SL is smart they might add them in to the next intro.
Not gonna happen, you are not Oniichan. So I hope you like the tentacle sex and the vore.
Anything to make Kiseki-chan happy.
I want to make this post to remind everybody that Kyouya did nothing wrong.
Inside her pupils instead of having them for eyes
I swear these two have enough moves for a fighting game
>"Niiice... there's three heretics...! A good harvest... ain't it!"
>His eyes were glowing, and Kyouya showed a glimpse of his sharp teeth, he trembled in joy and anger.
>"...these are Heroes. I'll take on two of them, you deal with the one left behind."
>Hayato left the convoy vehicle and lined up next to Kyouya.
>"HAAa?! Don't say such bullshit——they're all, all mine!"
>"Do as you please. But don't complain if you die after getting caught up in one of my attacks."
>"That's my line!"
>Kyouya stood while retracting half of his body and readying his gun, Hayato began to rotate the revolver's cylinder. In the middle of wave of people running away screaming, the two spoke the words of power on their own and at the very same moment.
>Desiring with supreme ardor——Hammer of Witches" "Summis desiderantes affectibus——Malleus Maleficarum!" "
>The two magical beings raised a signal to start the battle on the highway filled with screams.
Relic Eaters can heal people, Lapis is even keeping Takeru alive after he was sliced in half.
It's a disguise you know, if she uses the old scarf people will find her really fast.
I'm a little surprised, actually, that Ouka let LM live.
>thinking the MH would satisfy her revenge with a bullet to the head in a battleharem LN
Yeah, I know. What was I thinking?
I have to try to unsee sukumizu from the thumbnail every time. I mean, honestly now.
>pockets hanging down longer than the hem of her shorts
But that's not enough, anon! She has to keep laughing! Laughing is salvation! If she dies while laughing, she'll go to heaven you know?
He would react so fast that he probably wouldn't be able to play the game, and Lapis would get jealous that Takeru is playing with another sword, virtual or not.
Oh you, LM, you should know that Takeru will make sure she keeps laughing, so don't worry about her.
Why is she such a complete fucking slut /a/?
>"I'm in heat too so I can tellll!!"
Can confirm, Mari best slut too.
