Ayana is devastated and pretty much tries to stop relying on people

She takes a cinder block to some guy's head since he was following her. Puts him in a Saw situation with his girlfriend(?) by chaining them up. Sets the building they're in on fire. They both die, even though the guy saws off one of his legs.

And that's about the latest chapter. Ayana is completely irredeemable at this point. I would've preferred if she never actually killed anyone on purpose, now there's no one to sympathize with.

Only one thing is bugging me: basically Ayana doing nothing, just bringing up some dirt. It's not usual for a cute middle school girl to be randomly targeted. There must be a specific reason given the extent of violence. From Ayana's perspective, she doesn't know why she was targeted or doesn't think it's important. Thus I assumed that she indirectly caused it, and as a cute middle school girl I defaulted to the obvious. Anon mentioned earlier something about her father though, so clearly I was wrong. The assumption did make the story more enjoyable, however. Comparing this story to real life is hard. Never heard anything about sexual violence in school until college, and they were were nothing like what is being portrayed with habitual gang rapes and cigarette burns. Sexual crimes often go unreported, so maybe I'm just unaware and unable to relate.

So what's the Police role in all of this? Teens getting killed left and right and they aren't being that pushy beyond asking a few questions, the perpetrators sure aren't Crime Geniuses to leave the scene untouched.
