Potato Quality. Get ready for SPACE JAZZ
This, fuck CG mecha. I want to see anime not video game shit. Which is a shame because I like the concept/execution for Origin besides the CG. Would you make the main girls in a moe or harem show in CG? Fuck no. So why do it to the mecha, is there that much of a lack of fucking talent / ability to animate mechanical shapes outside of Sunrise?
At least Thunderbolt is shaping up to be fucking fantastic though. Leave it to UC OVAs to bring home the bacon after such fiascos as AGE and G-reco.
>dem 2D mecha
Oh lord, I am hype.
>hand drawn mecha
>chance of a jazz OST? seriously? I fucking love jazz, classy as fuck and much better than melodramatic "epic" movie soundtrack style done to death
>dat 3+ tone shading on people
>UC OVA with fucking hardcore, hardass zeon grunts without newtypes
This shit alone will save 2016 if nothing else does, and 2016 was already shaping up to be an interesting year before.
I was reading JP Twitter earlier for reactions, and I guess Studio 1's lead animator made a comment at an event that trashed CGI, calling it "cheap and unclean."
It's looking like a good, fun adaptation.
>So why do it to the mecha
Because animating mecha properly by hand requires a lot of talent and effort.
People funding shows care more about profit than creative value.
>Would you make the main girls in a moe or harem show in CG?
Arpeggio had no issue doing so and the girls were still cute.
Basically it has to be in mid-late December 0079 because there are Gelgoogs in the manga, and those barely entered production before A Boa Qu. You could already guess it was very late in the war because Rick Doms were introduced pretty late and the FA-78s were not finished in time to see combat; the fact that there is one in operation at all in Thunderbolt is already kind of pushing the canon to me.
Then again the timeline of the OYW is really fucked up in how everything important with the war/anime etc got squished into the span of only a few weeks; it's easy to see authors just disregarding that shit.
Actually a Gundam's armor is much stronger all around than the shields GMs carry.
Even so a shield will only absorb like one beam rifle or bazooka shot max; the suits in Thunderbolt carry them to guard against the the shit tons of space junk floating around the sector.
The cg in origins was alright.
Zeon have always been far cooler/more intriguing than Feddies. However the Feds in this series are pretty cool too, at least Io is a smug douche, which is more fitting to the side that knows it's about to win as opposed to the usual unrealistically neutral do-gooder Fed MC.
Your soul isn't tied down by Earth's gravity is it anon?
>shitposting against unicorn
It was the best thing from Gundam in 10 years faggot, go back to reconguista underage fuckboi
The Crossbone Gundam is fucking weird. It has beam fist weapons (zanbers I think they're called?), little extendable rope lines etc.
Basically that entire series is weird as fuck though too, I mean there are ships with fucking beam sails; it very much doesn't even feel like proper UC canon at points yet somehow picks up where F91 left off.
This is thunderbolt, not crossbone.
But yeah, crossbone was popular. Its one of the few late UC series, has a great lead gundam design made by a popular mechanical designer, a couple of nice fights, and Tobias the mc goes from complete nub to monster by thr end.
Debris field and bum rushing a sniper.
The manga explains it as being a melee heavy gundam due to the ms design at the time making ranged combat more difficult due to beam shields and faster ms. So it gets in the opponents face and around the shield Instead.
>melee(?) (with invasion?)
so a pirate version of gundam or something?
all i got from
build fighterswas that it seemed like it had more energy than a regular suit
pirate esque weapon?
and i know, still uc
Fuck all of you I posted this yesterday and nobody responded
Seriously though it looks cool
Thanks for ruining my morning by reminding me about how they jobbed out the crossbone and Tryon-3.
Its used by a group of "space pirates". Its pirate theme is part of a disguise so people don't immediately recognize it as the F97 gundam.
But both bf and try being energy monsters is wrong. The crossbone was fuel efficient and its main feature was the powerful yet articulated thrusters on its back which were designed for efficiently moving around Jupiters heavier gravity.
The manga has no homo. both of the MC have a waifu.
The EF MC's waifu gets shot by her own subordinate who's been pissed off with her the whole series and was furious that she wasn't staying behind to go down with the ship as captain when it was being evacuated. The Zeon's waifu is kind of fucked in the head.
