Niggastream picked up RWBY and translated the 1st chapter
Any idea about how to take out their watermark?
>calling a manga as a not-manga
You're so ridiculously confused right now.
What will /a/ do when this is animated by a Japanese studio?
The word filter is gone?
>might be a mod or janitor
Nah I'm just not retarded.
Just post it on /co/, that's where all the fans are anyway. I'm guessing you're just baiting though.
>made for a Japanese audience
Not that dude, but...
Nah, there are plenty of Manga that pander to the west and they're still manga. There's plenty of western IPs that get shit drawn by Japanese people, but it doesn't make it manga.
Besides, why don't you just post it on /co/ where it'll be appreciated? You're just trying to get frustrated neckbeardesque responses from us at this point.
/a/ never gave a shit about this, however /co/ brings it up practically daily.
Same kind of thing applies here. Given that the manga is a spinoff of the years-running cartoon and barely exists at all, the vast vast majority of everything RWBY is entirely /co/-bound. So, this thing should be lumped in along with it, because you technically can't talk about the web cartoon here anyway so it's hugely handicapping yourself for no benefit to attempt to force discussion about it with a board that clearly does not care about it in the first place.
If you are even faintly aware how fucking shit RWBY is in the first place there is no way you're actually from /a/. You may be aware that /co/ and the RWBY fanbase on there is fucking awful; you can't just bring this shit in here though and think that you're not tracking mud on the carpet and we don't notice. /a/ doesn't give a single fuck about RWBY in any way/shape/form and you're going to have to fucking deal with it.
Post yfw you will never be a janitor babysitting RWBY generals on the wrong board
You are aware that liking RWBY makes you far more of a weeb because you will literally watch anything on YouTube if it has anime-looking girls in it, even if it's total irredeemable garbage substandard to even bad actual anime.
>if it's total irredeemable garbage substandard to even bad actual anime.
how much anime have you watched? at my level every "new" show is generic as fuck. RWBY just have terrible animation but the story is as generic as any anime these days,
Hey retards here's a quick tip
Spamming threads about why this isn't /a/ keeps it from just dropping off page 10 after less than 50 posts. Hide the thread and move on with your life and the mods will delete threads if people keep making them despite not going over image limit.
This is exactly the shit that RWBY tell themselves to justify their continuing to watch it.
>i-it's the same as real anime
>not like the real thing any is any better
Yes, it fucking is. RWBY is a fucking joke. If you seriously cannot tell the difference in you are beyond all fucking hope of ever actually understanding anime in the first place, which means you should get the fuck back to >>>/co/ all the quicker.
>fucking hope of ever actually understanding anime in the first place
put sunrise or madhouse behind the project, say it is written by a japanese and you will not be able to see the difference from any shonen out there. then you will flood the board with ma waifu rwby, best show ever.
You're literally just repeating back to me what I just said the fans of the cartoon always say.
No, it's not Sunrise or Madhouse shonen tier at fucking all. Are you this fucking naive/blind? Just go.
So, even disregarding the inane back-and-forth argument of whether this is /a/ related or not,
Obviously the manga being related to the anime/manga board with the show discussion being secondary at best, which would let the threads die quicker, but I digress, with OP clearly being a faggot, creating this thread only to incite shitposting and bait, why is this thread still up then?
Generally mods are more attentive to making sure threads like these aren't encouraged here. I mean, if it was an OP that was being sincere and actually wanted to talk about something he felt should be here, I could understand, but it seems kind of obvious that he either made this thread to troll, which means it should be deleted, or he's a retard who can't find his own shit, which means he should be booted and the thread should be deleted.
Maybe to bait shitposters into one place and try to ban them, but there's no justice to be found here in keeping a thread about something that should be allowed on /a/ up if the thread, itself, is just an attempt at trolling.
I have a pet theory that rooster teeth paid off Hiro to allow them to shill this shit here free of mod interference.
You know, out of some hugely misguided attempt to get us into the series or something.
Let's see, right off the bat
>made by people who didn't even like anime or knew shit about it, they simply bought some MMD models to play with
>they were so clueless what to call it they literally just named it after the girls' hair colors
>half assed animation work / world models etc insulting even to an undergrad graphics student
>terrible voice acting, cringe worthy stupid weapons / fights even by anime standards
>they makers actually thought that a magic battle academy setting battling generic shadow creatures is original and good
>shitty aimless show just stringing along for youtube views, which is blatantly the only goal because it's been going on long after the original creator literally fucking died
If it's equivalent to anything at all in anime, discounting the fact that it lacks actual animation or voice acting talent which is already giving it a mountain-sized handicap, it's maybe on the same tier as the worst magic-battle-school LN adaptations, the some ones that /a/ ubiquitously fucking hates to begin with and whines when there are more than one or two of a season, and typically bomb in sales in Japan too and were made purely by contract by the studios to try to boost sales of the source garbage LNs.
>If you are even faintly aware how fucking shit RWBY is in the first place there is no way you're actually from /a/.
You're implying that being on /a/ requires people to not like shit. It must be nice living in a fantasy world, where all anime isn't shit. Holy fuck, you must have some levels of shit taste.
>No, it's not Sunrise or Madhouse shonen tier at fucking all.
serious and clumsy protagonist that dont like each other end being best friends.
adventure examen arc
power of nakamas
overpowered strange figures that appear in the last moments
mysterious characters everywhere
"evil" organizations with a hidden purpose
hyperactive happy character.
I can keep going all day. whats is the fucking difference with stupid as shit shonen? ho yeah is not made in japan pfff.
Yet despite the series being total trash for all those reasons it's actually very popular with a certain type of vapid kid audience, you know, they were surfing YouTube and started watching it because it was in the video upload list of the same guys who did Red vs Blue.
However instead of vomit fifty feet at the sight of the show like /a/ does, they actually like it. And talk about it on /co/. Nonstop. And make fanfics of it. And now they want to push it onto here because "it has a manga it's now officially japanese guys :)". No, and it never will be. Its source will always be Western.
Nope, the whole point of the post was about how the animation is the only thing that puts it away from every other generic anime. 3 of your "points" are specifically calling the animation shit over and over. The setting and story itself is as bad as any other generic anime. It's no worse in these aspects than half the shit studios push out of their anus in Japan, and yet you eat it up because you just can't live without your chinese cartoons.
>with OP clearly being a faggot, creating this thread only to incite shitposting and bait, why is this thread still up then?
But Niggerstream took this project but they will use their super quick release on this.
You make a false equivalency saying /a/ likes those generic battle academy/harem LN adaptation shows. It fucking doesn't. Some people here watch them for the girls and that's literally it; no one actually says those shows are good.
On the flipside you have RWBY fans with the same kind of mold of a series only done far worse, and they actually authentically like it and think it's "good". If they didn't think it's good why would they be trying so fucking hard to force it on /a/ then? Shouldn't they roll over in deference admitting how shitty it is? What a load of bullshit.
It's easy as fuck to make waifus in any random crap series. There are hundreds of random waifus that appear in random anime throughout the year. That property doesn't make the series itself worth acknowledging as anything more than a mildly entertaining distraction that will be forgotten the week it finishes airing.
However RWBY faggots can't let it go like that, can't acknowledge it as trash they can just let go of. I think I know why that is too; when you're a newfag to anime/actually liking 2D girls, you tend to cling hard to whatever first series exposed you to this paradigm and opened your eyes. RWBY fanbase being a bunch of clueless faggots who don't know shit about actual anime fall for this tactic hook like and sinker which is why they have their shitty general going 24/7. They cannot de-bias themselves from the show when they're smitten with the waifus. /a/ can like hot 2D girls but can also let them go as shitty throwaways when they come from garbage series.
We don't want them here nor do they even fucking belong here in the first place because Western cartoons are /co/.
>You make a false equivalency saying /a/ likes those generic battle academy/harem LN adaptation shows. It fucking doesn't
Literally what everyone who watches RWBY says this. You don't actually believe that, do you? People eat the battle harem shit over and over again because they love it. They love seeing the shit and they love watching the same generic settings and plots each time.
You also have Tokyo Ghoul and Akame ga Kill threads. /a/ isn't exactly the center of good taste.
Kind of bad thing to say but honestly the series is better off without the guy. The replacement voice actor for his character is better at the role and without his creative vision the writing improved.
Honestly it's still not a good series but if they get some koreans to animate it and get voice actors that aren't just people from their youtube channels it would be on par with most action anime
>why they have their shitty general going 24/7
It can't be any worse of a reason than the shitty 24/7 generals there are on /a/. Some of them just need to fuck off to /jp/ already, and they were even told to.
>not watching the Japanese dub
The Japanese VAs aren't YouTubers; though, looking through their list of past roles, they're not exactly seasoned veterans either. But they've had their fair share of roles.
Calling it an Anime is thematically pushing it and wrong by definition. It's a fighting weeaboo cartoon powered by RoosterTeeth's massive fan base that loves almost everything they produce. Japan likes it though so it gets a manga with a pretty good artist.
yeah you are those kind of faggots that make a big deal because people don like what you like and you think have an amazing taste and everyone should praise you, Even when 99 percent of anime is erotic pandering shit.
I'm not even a part of the argument you're having, I was only pointing out that your line of thinking is idiotic. Nice victim complex though, it's a definite marker of where you come from.
No. You seriously don't get it. Your mentality approaching this kind of media doesn't match /a/'s. RWBY sucks. It fucking SUCKS. But its fans due to their behavior and devotion to the series seem to authentically like it, only pretending "y-yeah, it's crap" as a meme to yourselves. That very much does not fly on /a/, not for such a shitty series and especially not for a series that has never been fucking allowed on here in the first place. This is what's most fucking ludicrous about it, that cartoon you guys like is 100% responsible for spawning these shit threads? Not /a/. You can't even talk about it here. So why bother.
Like was just said, if you didn't actually care for it, you wouldn't be so fucking butthurt that /a/ doesn't like it and try to force it onto here fucking every day since that one chapter came out, which no one on /a/ gives a fuck about in the first place. Oh look at what great discussion on the manga we're having, isn't this all fantastic? Isn't this all just whip cream with a cherry on top and not just /a/ telling the fanboys who wandered in from /co/ to go stand in the corner until their precious RWBY outpost threads here get spammed to death or autosaged? Nothing good has or will come of this. The more you faggots force it here the more we realize how impossible it truly is for us to get along because /a/ simply doesn't try so hard to whiteknight such objectively garbage series. It reeks of the /co/ mentality of clinging to everything they have for dear life and beating discussing it to death until mods forcibly kill their generals.
>definite marker of where you come from.
yeah I fought that fight so many times againsts narutards, bleachfags, one piecefags and then I learn if they want to eat shit I just going to leave them eat shit. filter the threads and move on. that make me realize you werent here when we want naruto banned from /a/ 9 years ago...
>only pretending "y-yeah, it's crap" as a meme to yourselves. That very much does not fly on /a/
Considering your English is that of someone who has been studying for a few years at the most, pretending to be an oldfag is not going to convince anyone. I don't know why you're even arguing with me, you clearly can't read or understand my posts.
My only point was that it's stupid to tell someone to only hate a shitty series' shitty fanbase when it's perfectly reasonable to hate both.
>RWBY sucks. It fucking SUCKS
Your opinion. It's no worse than generic battle harems except in the animation department.
You, or someone else, literally just said everyone on /a/ watches battle harems because the cute girls and say they don't actually like it. ""y-yeah, it's crap" as a meme to yourselves" is literally what /a/ does with AgK and every battle harem ever. You're fucking delusional if you think the /a/ elitism is real.
We've already improved in the thread department since the first threads. A good amount of people from /a/ actually are interested in reading this (inb4 "nuh uh! that's /co/. If you can say that then I can say every shitposter in the threads is one person) and we have already had proper discussion. If you retards didn't start a shitposting war every time there was a thread up then baiters wouldn't make them all the time.
My favorite RWBY chapter was when the GRIMM invaded the school and RWBY did bad with the GRIMM.
>Your opinion. It's no worse than generic battle harems except in the animation department.
And the story
And the setting
And the design
Hell, it is basically a battle harem already.
>It's no worse than generic battle harems except in the animation department.
Aside from the fact that it adds the shittiness of american highschool soap operas tropes to the already shitty battle harem formula. RWBY is on a league far, far below any battle harem. It's terrible. It's really, genuinely, terrible.
Most people are always indifferent. As soon as some asspain is generated from a few vocal shitposters, it's just the crowd effect. You seem to think that people aren't just shitposting for fun.
>we've already improved
>a good amount of people from /a/ actually are interested
No, it's just you in here, thinking we give a shit. I bet you're the OP. You're the massively fucking delusional one if you think that these threads have been anything but mountains of shitposting. If you think these are "good" threads it also shows you don't even use /a/ because you wouldn't know a good thread if it dickslapped you. Just give up and go. Your autistic fanaticism for RWBY will only harm yourself forcing it onto us.
For days (at least when I was looking) we didn't have a single thread on this shit here, and what did people say? Were they sorry they were so mean to those RWBY fans? Did we want these threads back? Were there hushed whispers about these threads. No. Only fucking silence. That's the true hallmark of no one giving a shit, is being utterly forgotten like it never happened. Do you even realize just how sad that is that you think that we actually care about this shit in any way besides telling you to get the fuck back to /co/? Just do it once and for all.
How would you know the story without watching the whole thing? There hasn't even been a fucking climax to an arc yet, it's all been buildup. The setting is basically Attack on Titan with magic and the design is no worse than half the shit you see in anime.
Not really. The bully episodes were complete shit, but that's pretty much the only "american highschool trope" present.
I hope everyone on /a/ has been letting hiro know how much they enjoy RWBY.
>99.9% of this entire subject is in the form of a cartoon which is not even /a/ material
>fans have been discussing this on /co/ for years
It's not /a/. A spinoff manga doesn't validate all that other shit being here, not even close. The fans for this series exist exclusively because of a Western cartoon show which is not allowed here and you cannot separate them out to have them not talking about the show in here.
At the same time /a/ has shown nothing but rejection for this series due this very strong /co/ association. It just isn't gonna work out.
>A good amount of people from /a/ actually are interested in reading this (inb4 "nuh uh! that's /co/")
see how I knew your entire argument before you even made it?
>you think these are "good" threads it also shows you don't even use /a/ because you wouldn't know a good thread if it dickslapped you
Please be bait.
I see you actively search for RWBY threads on /a/ to shitpost though. The fact this thread exists shows that either someone on /a/ likes it (along with others in this thread) or it's simply bait to trigger your autism.
>There hasn't even been a fucking climax to an arc yet, it's all been buildup
We're three fucking seasons in. Do you not see a problem there?
>Not really. The bully episodes were complete shit, but that's pretty much the only "american highschool trope" present.
And that was half the first fucking season.
The real problem with RWBY is that the writing is terrible. Just terrible. Unbelievably terrible, on a scale that not even the worst ln battle harem adaptation could get away with.
3 seasons totaling at about 5 hours. I agree they should do more with the little time they have though.
>And that was half the first fucking season
It was 4 episodes of 16.
I think it's no worse than something like Asterisk or Unbreakable Machine Doll, but that's my opinion.
>How would you know the story without watching the whole thing
I actually follow the series because it is a perfect example of how to not write an animated series, so yes. I would know the story is terrible. Season 1 was not even one hour and you go through four different plots, season 2 was three plots that went nowhere and season 3 so far had one of the worst cliches that battle harem series do, of explaining powers. Except it was done by a commentator to people in the arena. Then a fight was ground to a halt for a bad joke with no punch line, followed by an episode where nothing happened that we didn't already know.
To quote a really good movie critic,
"Brevity is the soul of wit. What this means is, don't waste my time."
>The setting is basically Attack on Titan with magic
It's nothing like Attack on Titan. At all.
>the design is no worse than half the shit you see in anime.
I've never seen an anime that turns everything into a gun.
Not a general. We haven't had a RWBY thread all week. This is new news about the manga though, so I don't think this should be deleted. /a/'s whining obviously doesn't hurt the mods and it obviously belongs here because it doesn't break the rules. I'd say mods have the most common sense out of the collective mind of /a/ right now.
If even a small portion of /a/ actually liked this then they would be very vocal in trying to get people to stop shitposting. That isn't the case though, rather the opposite, with 99% of the contents of these threads telling the subject material to get the fuck off of /a/.
Even right now no one is discussing the manga, just how shitty RWBY is and the rationale/legality of these threads even being here. That's essentially all these threads ever have been in the first place. It's also indeed clear that some people are starting these threads knowing full well they're bait, because they are taking full-on advantage of the mods' incompetence to remove them. That doesn't show /a/ likes or accepts it at fucking all, more of just what a spectacular failure this whole gambit has been trying to force RWBY onto here.
>muh self moderation will make those meanie RWBY lovers go away!
Worked real well with Naruto, right? There's obviously people who like RWBY on /a/ because these threads exist and you have a good amount of people who have argued about how it's not that bad or that it does belong here.
Right before the climax of the second season, Weiss gives Blake a powerup. Let's go through all the plotholes that this one moment creates
>Why did Weiss wait until that moment to hand Blake the power-up? They'd been fighting bad guys for days.
>How was Blake able to use that powerup? It completely changed her fighting style. So she either mastered a powerup that she was handed literally instantly, or she trained offscreen with it, none of which is ever shown. At least fucking Gear 2 or Gon-san actually made sense in-universe as logical extensions of character's powers, Blake just learns how to use a completely different moveset instantly.
>Why does Weiss give it to Blake in particular? Does it only work with Blake's powers? Why would Weiss make powerup that only works for Blake, and not for anybody else?
>Why does Weiss only have one? Are they expensive/difficult to make?
Every single episode is riddled with plotholes, from Ruby going from being able to run so fast that she can create hurricanes to not being able to outrun two generic grunts, to the bully who was so pathetically weak Jaune could beat him bullying a girl who was later revealed to be one of the strongest students in the school. There's a really simple reason for it: Monty thinks of action scenes he wants to do, then tells Miles to go write the plot that fits in between those moments. The plot is literally just created to be filler so Monty has more time to animate action scenes. And the action scenes are too few and not nearly good enough to justify the rest of the show. And Monty's animation method was insane, the dude would animate shot-by-shot out of order, which resulted in the magical teleporting highways or Cinder's disappearing mask, not even going into the insanity that is him refusing to make a base nude for his models because he doesn't want nudes of his characters leaking on the internet, so the character's fucking heights change depending on what they're wearing.
>the threads exist
>thus /a/ likes it
No. Just no. It's clearly been
>one guy comes in and make the same thread, never even attempts to promote discussion or dump the manga etc, day after day, just starts it and leaves it to crumble into shit
>the board rejects the thread and subject except for one guy who is either the OP, or someone mistaking the presence of the threads as acceptance coming in and tries to whiteknight the series from the otherwise clear, ubiquitous rejection of these threads
>mods do nothing or autosage
I don't remember the RWBY anime well enough. I'd suggest reading the mango from the start. It's probably before this though, which is chapter 39.
All I remember is that they went with some different plot threads before the complete derailment.
It did work. Naruto threads are allowed now because the show is over and the former cancerous fanbase of 12 year olds are now 20somethings who don't care anymore.
There is one person who likes RWBY, and it's the fucker who keeps creating these threads, because he doesn't fucking understand what 'fuck off' means
Well I guess it couldn't hurt to start from the beginning if it's that early on. I've been meaning to get around to reading it since it ended, but I always end up forgetting.
I can only hope that the manga's ending is better than the anime'sl, though that wouldn't be much of a feat.
No you want a pretense to create drama on /a/ and you hope you can hide behind a piece of dogshit to do it.
This makes you less welcome here than /co/ really.
>There is one person who likes RWBY, and it's the fucker who keeps creating these threads, because he doesn't fucking understand what 'fuck off' means
This. The only times I've ever seen someone be so purposefully incredibly, astoundingly deaf to a board before, is when it's a troll. Lanced Jack, Taiga, Siztra etc, all pretended like /a/ liked them and things were getting along fine, knowing that it made /a/ all the more mad to pretend that they were accepted here despite being told to fuck off thousands of times.
Likewise the RWBY guy pretends like nothing's wrong. So you know, it's almost like he's doing it on purpose, because he likes the attention, and the mods are too stupid to tell it's some troll who found a new way to feed himself.
I think RWBY went to shit in the mango so I can't promise you a good ending, but it's definitely not RWBY PUNCH.
>it's CLEARLY been like this because I say so!
>people act the way they do because that's how I think they do and that's a fact!
The mods will get the hint if people remind them enough.
If the series is published for a Japanese audience, it's manga no matter how "western-pandering" it is. If the series is published for an American audience (for example), it's an American comic book no matter how "Japanese" it is. There are good reasons for banning RWBY threads on /a/ ("We don't wan't to invite /co/ posters here", for example) but any pissy nerds screaming "IT'S NOT MANGA" aren't helping their cause and make their side look silly.
That's not true. A retarded double standard would be one which just plainly doesn't have a better alternative. Things have and do get redirected or moved to other boards all the time.
Eh, I kinda felt like the beginning was trying to put on the manga-version of the Ruby Rose trailer which was like the very first trailer for RWBY. After that they just skipped ahead to where team RWBY is already together.
Art style... mehhh could be done better I think, it seems quite crude to me and the artstyle seems completely different from the animation, but of course I'm comparing it to Triple-A mangaka that I'm used to (like Oda, Kubo, Akamatsu, Okubo, etc etc) which isn't really fair. Especially if you compare to Akamatsu who I honestly think pays more attention to fine details than anyone (in his recent works).
But all in all I'm happy they're going all-out with RWBY and pushing it into all consumer bases (anime, manga, AND video games). That way it'll grow it's fanbase as much as it possibly can. I'm pretty much sold on buying Creatures of Grimm.
Anyway, overall I kinda feel already that the manga is going to take a different route than the animation is. It already feels like it's gonna go that way.
All in all, usually the book comes before the movie but that isn't the case with RWBY. For RWBY it's one of the rare cases where you should see the animation first.
Manga -spinoff- whose -primary source material- is a Western IP.
The source for this material is not allowed on /a/. This status cannot be altered or undone. This proves problematic in attempting to have manga discussion on here without talking about the show, because the fans for this series exist explicitly due to the show.
Reminder that this tard posted on the /co/ RWBY thread and they didn't want this here anyway, didn't visit /a/, and told him not to stir the bee hive.
His express purpose is to shit up this board.
The boards were always made to be ambiguous to a degree to avoid super specific and unnecessary boards. However, the majority of RWBY threads are discussions about the show, pics from the show, and information surrounding RT, all of which is /co/. By its very source and nature the show is /co/ as it's made by westerners for a western audience, so it will NEVER be accepted on here.
and this is precisely why our nip overlords this weeaboo bitch wishes he was actually fuckin love rwby.
they love it so much they put some good talent on the VAs for their dub of it, got posters of it everywhere, AND doing a manga.
the doujins will likely come rolling in soon.
>However, the majority of RWBY threads are discussions about the show
This is just not true. Nearly all discussion in these threads have either been comparing the series to the manga (still /a/ related) or talking about the art style/story placement.
Am I supposed to seriously respond to this? Okay, my citation is the show and the 24/7 /co/ general that existed for years before this manga.
It is also a devil's proof to assert that someone who claims to like the manga on /a/ isn't someone who already liked the show. If these threads, now having raised plenty of awareness and giving people plenty of time to read the chapter have been any indication, /a/ doesn't like this period.
You mean the samefag OP trying his hardest to push this shit on an unwilling board that is actively shitposting these awful threads to the hell where they belong? Hang yourself tonight.
>comparing the series to the manga
That totally is show discussion. You have to be able to talk about this shit on /a/ with complete disregard to the show. It never happened. Never existed.
This is why it is so very stupid to actually want these threads on /a/ and not on /co/ where you can talk about the full spectrum of whatever in comparison.
So because there are persona and god eater threads on /v/ the only people that would watch persona or god eater are /v/ermin? There may not be people that necessarily like the RWBY manga, but there most definitely are ones that are interested in it.
Or just push this manga which is probably not even 1% of the total content of RWBY back into /co/ along with the rest of it.
Assuming it doesn't get canceled, even if it ran for years, as a monthly it'll practically never catch up to the show itself meaning it'll always be just a little lump growing on the side of the cartoon in relevance.
>people honestly don't want the snow angel on /a/
What the fuck is wrong with you?
the creator considered it an anime
>it's not anime
it gets a Japanese dub with decent cast
>It's not anime!
it gets a manga and japs apparently love RWBY
>IT'S N-NOT ANIME!!!
I look forward to seeing the shitfits you babbies throw when they announce it also gets an actual anime OVA or some shit announced for it. you know it's gonna happen now.
>wanting a slow paced show without awesome actions just so the writers can maintain their vision
>Probably thinks that Penny revealing her powers was bad and not the saving grace of a shitty S1 finale
Honestly though Monty was a bit of an ass and not a great writer but this show would have been way better if they had listened to him and just made it about the girls post graduation.
but they hate the series too No, I hate it myself, and mostly want to discuss how and where it's gone wrong. But at the same time cannot escape it. For reasons.
Thanks for the heads up, though.
Yoko HIkasa is fucking god-tier and I'm surprised that they roped her into this shitshow
Here's the thing
Pretty much nobody here wants to go to that shithole. The only reasons to go on /co/ for the last 5 years has been to download comics on Wednesday or talkback threads if you are in to western media.
I've got to ask cause I know there has to be at least some /RWBYg/ posters in here, are you guys for or against it?
And will you fucks who only post in the general please leave /co/ and never come back.
>some fuck in the thread actually didn't know what .cbz and .cbr were
Fuck shit I was mad
Yes it is silly. Which is why we think people pushing this on here are just immensely ignorant/naive. They don't seem to understand what we mean by "the show is not allowed on /a/".
Let me give it to you straight, /a/ was not enemies of the RWBY fans prior to this. We didn't like them much (if they ever came up at all), but they were fine in /co/ where they belong. Forcing this shit on here and then endlessly arguing with /a/ about what belongs on its own board, with respect to a cartoon adaptation which /a/ near-unanimously deemed not /a/ material, is deeply souring our opinion of that show's fans by the day.
At this pace even if it got an anime we'd probably push for Hiro to ban it from here just by association with how these fucking threads have been going, and the people perpetuating them.
>the creator considered it an anime
>it gets a Japanese dub with decent cast
>it gets a manga and japs apparently love RWBY
None of that makes it an anime, and you know it, too, since you say "an actual anime" later. Now shut the fuck up and stop trying to start shit.
Mods, you're all sacks of shit for not deleting obvious bait out of fear of offending people. You have a job, and that job is not to be nice to every group you can think of.
>the creator considered it an anime
The creator didn't fucking know that magical girl was a genre when he made the anime. He doesn't know the first thing about anime. Which is beside the point, because he's wrong.
Go take your badly animated web shit somewhere else.
>I look forward to seeing the shitfits you babbies throw when they announce it also gets an actual anime
You realize that's an admission that none of what you said makes it an anime and even you don't think it's an anime, right?
The storytimes are nice, and if you were actually into comics you could talk about those.
I never get why newfags think you can't talk about comics just because we refuse to talk about the generally accepted masterpieces (we've done it too many times and there's nothing you can add) and these same people probably believe the memes of writers and don't know what the "designated list of shit writers" actually means
I don't know how somebody can watch this and go "Yep, that's done. That's what we want it to look like. Now let's go publish it and ask people to give us money for it."
It's silly because you're creating a double standard just because the series triggers your autism. It is in fact a manga, whether you like it or not. Talk of the source material when comparing it to the anime or manga is and always has been related.
Let me give you a direct quote on the sum total of Monty's experience with anime.
>"I watch a lot of stuff like Naruto and Bleach. I don't really watch the shows, I just skip to the fight scenes for ideas"
That's the man who created this show.
What the fuck are you even on about?
I checked /co/ the last time this worthless sack of shit did this and they don't have any desire to have a thread here.
He is literally just shitting up this board for his own amusement. He needs to go.
I don't give a fuck about /co/.
I saw the first episode and it was some random faggot going into some random store and saying to some random girl "We must fight now," and then a random shitty-animated fight breaks out.
I think it would be wise to practice eugenics on the fans of this to improve the human gene pool. We should banish it from /a/ for the same reason, because people this mentally impaired couldn't contribute any worthwhile discussion. Don't give me the whole "I-it's better than generic harem story-wise" because that's just bullshit. I dropped every battle harem this season and would rather watch Asterisk ten times over this shit, even if Asterisk was as poorly animated as this shit. You just have something wrong with you on a fundamental level if you find this is worth watching. It's like humans have a sixth-sense telling them that something is bad, but these people have that sense dulled.
>the creator considered it an anime
And, by your definition then Bojack horseman is anime
>it gets a Japanese dub with decent cast
So did EEnE, PPG, KND and other cartoons.
>it gets a manga
So having a Simpsons manga makes the Simpsons an anime?
>and japs apparently love RWBY
They also love south park, and no, only a few like that shit since they have shit taste.
Could someone post those jap comments about that shitfest of series?
>Talk of the source material when comparing it to the anime or manga is and always has been related.
Not in this case. This is the entire sticking point of this problem. To /a/ it is very, very obvious that the source overrules a derived product of it, especially since it had already been on /co/ to begin with and under no circumstances can you just re-label a Western series an Eastern one.
/co/ talks about Powerpuff Girls Z quite often (rather if you bring it up they're game to talk about it), and they're allowed to do that there even though that was an anime adaptation, which shouldn't be allowed if they wanted to be sticklers to the rules. It's because it's a clearly Western source. Same thing here.
He actually didn't want the school to be the main setting. It was supposed to be 1 season of world building then skipping to their graduation. It was the other writers that said "No see MONEY"
>an actual anime OVA or some shit announced for it.
Weebs will be BTFO
>That's the man who created this show.
Everyone knows Monty was a gigantic faggot. The world is better off with him no longer in it. Too bad his show is actually worse off.
Goddamnit you are all idiots
The Animated series is a cartoon inspired by anime not an anime it has anime elements but by definition is not an anime, if the series is taken over by a japanese studio and writers (with korean animators for ovcious reasons) it will be an anime
The manga is a manga because as pointed out above if it's written in japan and produced by a japanese company it's a manga, pretending it's not because you don't like it just makes you an idiot and reduces the rest of your argument into whining.
Stop fucking posting this shit, it doesn't go here
Besides a very few autists, /a/ doesn't want it here. and the only people who would post in these threads the few retards in the /c/ general.
It's not allowed for the same reason Naruto wasn't, it encourages retards to post. Mods, just fucking declare these threads banned, they will always get shitposted to hell. /a/ doesn't want them here, /co/ doesn't want them here. Only shitposters and a small minority of /co/ wants them here
>Monty "rwby is so shitty it gave me cancer" Oum
>Monty 'I'm literally allergic to pussy' Oum
>Monty 'killed by my gf's puss' Oum
>Monty 'Irony is a bitch' Oum
>Monty 'I just wanted my gf to be happy' Oum
>Monty 'if I see that fucking cat one more time' Oum
>Monty 'wait, I won't see the cat again after all' Oum
>Monty 'fucking rekt by cats' Oum
>Monty 'the universe really didn't want me to keep cats' Oum
>Monty 'my gf probably was secretely trying to kill me' Oum
>Monty 'so allergic the allergic test killed me' Oum
>Monty 'MMD weeb shit gave me cancer' Oum
>Monty 'allergic to rwby' Oum
>Monty 'pussy test left me comatose' Oum
I can almost taste the tears now.
>I look forward to seeing the shitfits you babbies throw when they announce it also gets an actual anime OVA or some shit announced for it. you know it's gonna happen now.
It'll just get forced back to /co/, because /a/ doesn't want the general, or fanbase here
Just because you don't "want" it here doesn't make it against the rules to be discussed here. However that doesn't mean you have to welcome it with open arms. Just don't break any rules while shitting on it.
The one voiced by this landwhale.
Superior RWBY coming through, dess
No, it does go against the rules, the unwritten ones. There might be written rules, but the community still gets to decide what content should be posted. When the community very clearly doesn't want something and can give a actual reasonable reason to why it shouldn't be allowed, its not fucking allowed. The mods have just been fucking retarded lately, otherwise this would already be gone
Actually despite everything Monty did legitimately go days without or with minimal sleep during RWBY production. Volume one had background niggers because he wanted to do EVERYTHING himself which didn't leave him enough time to polish things despite his sleep schedule.
He was talented but never took proper education of his talent but he was at least dedicated.
Also the major issue of clipping is legitimately beyond pretty much anyone's ability to fix because the program is kinda shitty.
Spongebob gets a japanese dub, that doesn't make it anime.
Faggots making their own western cartoon anime style doesn't make it an anime(see:youtube).
The fact that japs love it has nothing to do whether it's anime or not.
It's the west, anon. Pretty people do real acting because you don't need talent if your face and body are marketable. There's no dignity in voice acting, so it's relegated to the people too ugly for a screen. It's nothing like our chinese cartoons.
He's Miles' self-insert so that he could have an excuse to have monty explain the plot to him, except he turned into a literal 'I'm going to use this character to redo my shitty highschool life" self-insert.
don't sully one of our goddesses by shitposting in her name, faggot
if you don't like the content or subject of a given thread, the correct response is reporting OP, hiding it, and moving the fuck on
christ, there's no manners or common sense on the net any more
Fuck the rules, some people tend to forget but shitposting and self moderation are some of the hallmarks of /a/ and 4chan as a whole.
Fuck your shitty garbage web toon made for 12 year olds by depressingly unfunny machina hacks. Someone start an image dump so we can force this to the bump limit.
Just how many RWBYs are there?
His behavior is like much of /a/. Weak. Indecisive. And do not know what's good, even if it's right in front of them. Eventually, Pyrrha will be taking in some other man's dick; and by then, Jaune will realize what he's missing.
I love this manga.
I might even say it's in my top 5.
that's why you hide the thread and ignore it, it's not like you bitching and shitposting is going to make the mod(s) change their minds, if anything you're more likely to get banned
this shit isn't fucking rocket science man
private army, etc
and yeah, things were so much fucking better when accelspammer, gorespammer, spiderman spammer, wikispammer, et al were literally shitting up 3/4 of the board at a time, amirite guise? so epic! sekrit club!
A problem doesn't go away by ignoring it, tumblr. Every /a/non has to do their part in killing cancer threads.
Well it is always the same with anything that gets shit on /a/.
The haters just come her to hate, if they really did not like it they could just ignore it instead of shitposting and bumping the threads always with more hate and shitposting.
Without them the threadds they hate so much would much faster die.
Penny. She hasn't shown up in the manga yet though.
>hat's why you hide the thread and ignore it, it's not like you bitching and shitposting is going to make the mod(s) change their minds
No, that's exactly how you do it. Its called self-moderation.
> amirite guise? so epic! sekrit club!
>The haters just come her to hate, if they really did not like it they could just ignore it instead of shitposting and bumping the threads always with more hate and shitposting.
It's called sage moron
>don't know nothing about this show
>everyone else here seems to have fucking watch the whole thing
>/a/ watch this thing
I have the feeling everyone shitposting here have a RWBY figurine at the side of their screen.
and neither has spamming and relentlessly shitposting, if anything it's made using the board more of a hassle for everyone in general
we didn't used to have a captcha, remember?
we didn't used to have high post timers, remember?
Starting to run out of ideas already, cocksucker?
self moderation of the kind you suggest has never worked well, it's only increased the restrictions placed on people who actually want to use the board to discuss anime and manga
Touhou has a manga doesn't it?
Does that mean Cirno is officially /a/?
If only there's someone want to animate Touho like Morty..
>implying anyone actuialy still doing that and even if they did the hate encurages trolls and others to counter which in the end bumbs the thread so even if you saged you would indirectly bumb
If sadpanda is /a/ then 2hus may as well be.
>self moderation of the kind you suggest has never worked well, it's only increased the restrictions placed on people who actually want to use the board to discuss anime and manga
It really doesn't. It sends the clear message that /a/nons don't want it here. Almost no one wants to discuss shit like Naruto or RWBY, nor do we want its fanbase posting here
Ask yourself how badly you want every thread on /co/ derailed forever.
How ducking Japanese do you want this shot to be before your lust for Japanese animation is satisfied?
What? You want shonenn jump to make an official announcement calling it manna? You want A1-studios, Kyoani, or madhouse to animate it?
And even then u assholes wouldn't call it manna and anime. Look how hard /a/ sucks Japan's dick
Unwritten rules are not real rules bro. Besides what's even the point of rules if you have to ban the discussion of something that falls within the guidelines of being on topic just because people get into a tizzy when its talked about? Using an example from a certain shit forum, a certain game was completely forbidden from being talked about there despite being an actual game with actual gameplay because the content was "problematic" This is the exact SAME situation down to the "problematic" perception of the subject, and I can't defend it.
After doing a little homework on the series through the wikia, I can say those "plot holes" are nonsensical even by /a/ standards.
The bullies are alike many IRL bullies, all talk. IRL people get bullied by people younger, smaller, etc all the time. Those bullies seem big & intimidating but when their bluff is called, they have nothing left. That bullied girl was apparently from a species that many dislike. It's no different from a group of bullies attacking someone for race, a deformity, etc.
In that scene, Ruby lacked her weapon and just took a fall. Apparently being unarmed against enemies makes you harder to catch?
Judging by how Weiss is supposed to be the heir to some big arms producing corporation, it's logical that she have shit barely anyone else has. Why not use it before? Do people naturally keep that shit around and not for emergencies? It's supposed to be a mission so it's safe to assume that someone decided to bring more firepower than a training exercise.
This I got from reading the wikia or basic common sense. Is this how /co/ acts? This is getting /r9k/ level.
>Seiken Densetsu 3
No you're not, thats a video game.
Oh good, as if everyone's point couldn't be made clearer.
Don't forget to post images to force bump limit
Yet there are constant Naruto, Bleach and Wanpiss threads up. Constant. 24/7/365. How's that working out for you, champ?
Fact of the matter is, /a/'s userbase is larger than your little "comfort zone" of "the shows that are okay to talk about" and no matter how loudly you bitch and moan and whine and shitpost and flail against the very concept of someone liking something you don't, you will. Not. Win.
Fucking hell, I'm not even in the group that thinks rwby should be on this board to begin with, but your idiocy is painting me as part of that by association.
Report / ignore / move the fuck on. This is how it's always been, this is how it'll always be.
If you're extra butthurt, email the new owner and cry to him directly to try and get it banned, see how far that takes you.
But stop fucking shitting up the entire place for the rest of us.
Then don't have a thread you retard, the show belongs on /co/
>Naruto, Bleach and Wanpiss
No there aren't. Maybe Wanpiss, but it's been like that for ages. The real generalfags are idolshit, Monster Girls, Kantai, Love Live (but they fucked off again temporarily), Tokyo Ghoul, SnK, Jojo, Yu-Gi-Oh, YRYR, Gundam, even Osomatsu sometimes, Yahari and I probably missed some.
>Unwritten rules are not real rules bro
They are rules, they are called, LURK MOAR FAGGOT
And no, there is a clear difference between us and the reddit shit. They banned something because they didn't something small about it, we don't want it just because of that, but because it'll bring retards over to post, encourage them to post, lower the average posting quality and more shitposting. The simple fact is they don't go here and they already have a fucking general home on /co/ to post. I don't even fucking know why they want to post here, most of /co/ is too afraid to post here, because /a/nons are big bullies who don't spoonfeed them recs
Actually, the best choice would be Sunrise
Same reason why people keep replying to it, I suppose.
>/a/ was one of the only boards which still liked the mods when /sp/ and /tv/ were having hourly revolts
>somehow they were so incompetent that they managed to turn the userbase on them completely
It's fucking comical. How do people this incompetent even manage to become mods?
>Yet there are constant Naruto, Bleach and Wanpiss threads up. Constant. 24/7/365. How's that working out for you, champ?
Naruto threads are only allowed, because moot decided to have fun and force them back in. They still have heavy restrictions on them to be in a single general only
>Report / ignore / move the fuck on. This is how it's always been, this is how it'll always be.
Bitching at things you don't like is how it always has been done and I don't intend to change to the new method retards keep trying to encourage
Don't act like you don't understand the facts. Korea ssows animated by perriot somewhat but it was still created in America. The situation here is the manga was created by Japanese people in japan after getting the rights. This by definition of what manga is, is manga and not western comic. There's a reason why a Japanese manga publisher is publishing it. That's why its manga and if the anime is created by a Japanese studio too then it is indeed a manga and anime now. Don't try and mix my words to suit your argument. I don't like or care for the rwbh series but I'm smart enough not to act like a retard on a manga imageboarf about a manga aadoption. Its logically allowed to be on both /Co/ and the manga version on /a/ now.
bitching at and then moving on to whatever it is you actually want to discuss
only idiots like spamfags that ruined the board actually did any more than that
didn't they just accept a new round of janitors? wouldn't surprise me if mod positions got rotated at the same time
>this specific manga I really don't like is only allowed by special exception
>this manga is only allowed
Nigger, the literal name of the board is motherfucking "ANIME & MANGA".
>Mods deleting a ton of posts
>Not deleting the thread
I don't really understand why the tripfag's posts are worth deleting but not the thread.
/co/ has a general for this series it makes no sense to have two threads on the same thing cross-boards just because a manga came out for it. /co/ seems to have a tradition for this series. Let them have it.
Penny was fuckable in her original design, fuck you.
Don't expect anything good, just cute waifus. Season 1 is terrible, season 2 is bad, season 3 is pretty good so far. Somehow the manga is even more all over the place than the series.
Is /a/ really stupid enough to believe this is a /co/ crossboarder? All of these images are pulled from the thread up in /co/. Are you just going along with a shitposter to try and convince mods that this is what /rwbyg/ is like?
Mods hate anime so no. They only like western shit spinoffs
The mods made a decision and even though they have to realize now that it was a bad decision, they don't want to back down because they'll lose anonymous internet face if they do.
A-are we allowed to talk about Japanese twilight here??
Japanese Twilight and Japanese High School Musical were the lowest ranked manga on MangaUpdates last I checked. Kneejerk reaction by idiots most likely, but amusing nonetheless.
>You fuckers realize
I've never had any interest in knowing what the series was about. You seem informed, it seems to be your problem (while I take care of shit I know is also shit).
