Not in the sense of thinking it's important, but in the sense that they do it the correct way because that's how they've been taught and doing it in a different order is generally understood to be wrong. Stroker order is not just a suggested order, it's the correct order and the only one that is so.

Why is it that this means, "I hope the sakura don't bloom quickly like they did (bloom quickly) last year" and not that "I hope the sakura don't bloom quickly, as they didn't last year"?

Hey guys. Is this correct?

A: 小さいと大きいとどちらのほうがおっぱいが好きですか。

>>
>>133530927

>>
>>133530843
>"I hope the sakura don't bloom quickly like they did (bloom quickly) last year" and not that "I hope the sakura don't bloom quickly, as they didn't last year"

~Vないといい is a standard sentence pattern meaning "it'd be nice if it didn't V".

オナニーをしない と いい, "if you don't masturbate, that would be good."

AとB just means something like if A then B, と is a conditional particle here.

Does that help?

>>Because it teaches you to write 2000 kanji in two months.
Which is a largely useless skill. You could've learned 2000 words in the same amount of time which would be far more beneficial.

I'm not saying writing has no value. I write, but only to get a better understanding of the character (writing it out stroke by stroke lets me get a feel for how the character "fits together" and emphasises the differences between similar characters). I don't do it in order to learn how to write characters from memory because there's no situation where I'll ever need to do that.

The script was pretty clearly translated by someone with no idea of what was happening on screen, and voiced by people who didn't even understand what the series was about.

You've got shit like なんてこと... translated as "what the!" upon seeing a girl grieving for her mother.

All right, I have a theory...
Whatever comes before ように is what is describing the appearance/state of the cherry blossoms. The part about them not blooming quickly comes after this and is follow by といい -- so you're saying it would be good if this isn't true. Since you're talking about what would be the good outcome, the state of the cherry blossoms would have had this good outcome happen last year -- this part is implied.
Yeah. Fuck; I know I didn't explain that clearly, but it makes sense to me.

So i-adjectives can't be used by themselves in a sentence structure like that? Both 背 and おっぱい are nouns so the "がおっぱいが好きですか" part is correct and would work for example with a sentence like this?

アスカとレイとどちらのほうがおっぱいが好きですか。

Thanks for clarifying this stuff for me. I find it very helpful trying to produce sentences on my own.

>美ちなる方へ
>"On the way to becoming beautiful"
I'm confused though, what exactly does the ち in 美ち mean? Is it some sort of adverb?
>>
>>133536451
It is read びち, which is short for びっち
>"On the way to becoming (a) slut"
>>
>>133536451
It's probably some kind of archaism.

I'd also be inclined to believe that this means "Towards beautiful people", as in directed at the beautiful people, like a product or a speech directed at the beautiful people.

What's the context?
>>
>>133536536
It's a song title. Here's the lyrics if that helps: http://j-lyric.net/artist/a053810/l023bc8.html

>僕は美ちなる方へ行きました
That seems to mean "I'm on the way to becoming beautiful." doesn't it?
>>
>>133536854
No, it means that he walked towards the beautiful person.

Before you ask, I have nothing at hand to back this claim up with. All I can tell you is that I know that なる is used together with some other words to make them adjectives.

The claim I am making is based on almost two years of learning Japanese and a lot of reading and I may also be completely wrong with my assumption.

The song's subject is about social anxiety and going outside to live your life though, which makes me think he's referring to a conceptual way of becoming beautiful by living your life.

Some threads ago, an anon posted this article that makes an argument in favor of re-reading as a technique for language learning:
http://indwellinglanguage.com/reread/

I think re-reading has been helping me a lot to say the least. I don't re-read all the text, only the difficult parts. And for those, I bookmark them or make a save and re-read it a few times over the next few days. It's helped me internalizing and making sense of complex sentences and vocabulary. I'll keep doing this as I feel like I'm progressing more and thanks to the anon who posted the article.

There you go.

Of course, it follows that there are 562 unique kanji in a maximum of 1016 lines. Given that Muramasa has 55,192 lines, if you go into Muramasa with just 2,500 kanji (assume 100% overlap), then a new kanji will appear in 1.84%, or about every 50 lines, which is pretty obnoxious, though they will probably be focused in fights and infodumps anyway that would require googling, as opposed to standard dialogue. Well, thanks for listening, math is fun.

Was kind of joking around with that. Not many people you can talk about shit like eroge to and play piano duets with.

Totally impossible though because I have to finish school and she has stuff related to her work. She's also 26 years old and I'm 20 so it's natural for her to be worried about her biological clock ticking.

She was crying so much these past 2 days though ;_;

Also her name is read "Aiko".

Well at least she didn't lie about it. A lot of older japanese girls (women) lie about their age if interested in someone.

Why am I so attracted to watching obscure old anime know one knows about? Like, with current popular ones, you'd have to twist my arm to start the series. But if were talking about some 90s OVA with shiny rendered boobs, blood splattering everywhere, and monsters, Im more than happy to chug that shit. I haven't even started watching popular series nisekoi, toukyou ghoul, so I wonder if I watch as much obscure shit as I want, Ill actually flock to the normie shows.

I know that feel too well. Im immune to it by now. Just learn not to give a fuck about a girl that you have no chance of getting together with. You can be friends with her, if you want, but you have to ask yourself "Do I like her like shes a bro and would be happy if she met someone, or do I only like her this much because shes a kawaii japanese girl?". Seriously, have you ever met a japanese guy, who you all of a sudden didn't want to talk to ever again because he has a gf? No. But can't really say the same about japanese girls now can you.

Personally, as bad as it may seem, I dont really hang out with girls too much because of this.

Genki very recently was the single only "credible" English-Only Pleb japanese language learning textbook used in universities in the USA. Some universities are phasing it out for some other one that I can't remember the name of.

We prefer genki to that other one because genki is marginally easier for self-study use.

We prefer tae-kim to genki because tae-kim is even easier for self-study use than genki; even though genki's explanations of some grammar concepts are significantly better than tae-kim.
