Animators getting paid so little while VAs get paid most of the anime's budget is fucking bullshit

KyoAni's staff only get payed 90,000 yen a month, I know Kyoto is cheaper then Tokyo but Ghibli pays more.

Rough Draft pays 18,000 won a month.

But in the end, TMS is TMBest paying at 1,320,000 yen a month at least.

I got paid more back during my part-time job. God damn.

And everyone wonders why animation is dying. Studios would rather spend money on a CG worker than a traditional artist. In the end the only important people are the ones who draw key frames and they get paid shit compared to CG workers too.

What's worse is that Shirobako is making people more interested in joining the animation job. Job wages will likely be less if more animators flood the market. Guess I should work on my CG and laugh at the hand drawn animators on the way to the bank.

Not sure if you're trolling, but do you realize how much more time/frames/coordination it takes to make any significant hand-drawn sequence? There's a lot more money than just salary v salary.

If you watch the show, they have like 2 in-house CGI animators doing all their CGI, where they have 5-10 in-house and 20+ outsourced hand-drawn animators doing sketchwork and keyframes.
