It is actually hard to make it as a seiyuu.
Only 1 out of 300k aspiring seiyuu actually make it yearly. To be an A-list seiyuu it is even harder.

Most of them just end up failing with no proper school qualification and end up doing JAV to make end meet.

And everyone wonders why animation is dying. Studios would rather spend money on a CG worker than a traditional artist. In the end the only important people are the ones who draw key frames and they get paid shit compared to CG workers too.

What's worse is that Shirobako is making people more interested in joining the animation job. Job wages will likely be less if more animators flood the market. Guess I should work on my CG and laugh at the hand drawn animators on the way to the bank.

If you watch the show, they have like 2 in-house CGI animators doing all their CGI, where they have 5-10 in-house and 20+ outsourced hand-drawn animators doing sketchwork and keyframes.
