>not watching something that is entering a golden age while anime is increasingly becoming more homogenized and stagnant
>A new golden age
I mean, it was more a parody of these old super sentai shows. But whatever.
>Current Simpsons and Spongebob suck shit but won't go away
>Actually good shows like Sym-Bionic Titan, Young Justice, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Avengers Assemble are cancelled left and right to be replaced b purey horseshit like the current Marvel cartoons and Teen Titans Go, with bland garbage like Ben 10 still going on
>Saturday morning cartoons are dead
>Cheap CGI animated films rather then glorious and beautiful 2D
Green Lantern has referenced Gurren Lagann twice, one in one of their shows and another in a comic.
The Hulk gets some kind of armor that looks a lot like The World from JoJo but that may be a coincidence that they look so similar
/co/, I know that you're in a rough spot with tumblr taking over your board and your medium stagnating, but these delusions should be checked out by a psychologist.
Jesus, /co/, you're a mess.
Between the Tumblr, Films, eternal generals; you have a ton of issues.
>western animation is bad
Rick and Morty is AOTY
I would have agreed with you two or three years ago, but CNs new programming feels too inspired by Adventure Time. Older Cartoon Cartoons had some individuality since they didn't share most of the same staff between them, while most of the new shows are made or directed by people who worked on AT. You don't get the same variety and contrasts in programming you would have gotten back in the 00s when KND, Megas, EEnE, Justice League, and Fosters aired simultaneously.
While Nick only airs shit, Disney delays the daylights out of their good shows, and The Hub treats anything that isn't MLP like third-rate trash, Cartoon Network's biggest fault is that their lineup feels incestuous.
Yeah, I love AT and RS, but I barely watch even those anymore since it seems that's all CN is now.
I assume you're talking about Gravity Falls in regards to Disney; is it really that good?
It was in the comic too. One of the green lanterns creates a gunman construct with his ring.
Nobody wanted to copycat Doug because that shit was fucking boring, but there were many that definitely wanted to create their own Ren and Stimpy, but when they realized that nobody was succeeding, they gave up because being gross wasn't enough and that John K. had to fight tooth and nail to get away with a lot of the shit he did. Very few people are passionate enough to do what John did, and even fewer had the balls after he got fired for it because it caused countless delays.
Of course, when he got free reign at long last for Adult Party, it was fucking shit.
Well, here's one for the Western references in Anime pool.
Kyle Rayner. He's a comic artist, so he's a big weeb.
