SM12 - The Extracurricular Lesson is on Hidoide?! (Jan 26th)
>Everyone in the Rocket Gang have had some leisurely and lazy days. But one day, they receive a call from HQ. HQ wants to know if their activities in the Alola region are going well or not. The Rocket Gang somehow manages to give them a report that smooths things over. However, they realize they can't just continue on like this, and decide to aim for getting a new Pokémon.

SM13 - The Great Alola Pancake Race! (Feb 2nd)
>Satoshi's classmate Mao tells him that the Pancake Race will soon take place. This is a race where Trainers and Pokémon work together to carry pancakes stacked up on a plate to the goal as fast as they can without the stack collapsing. Satoshi gets really interested and enters the Pancake Race together with Pikachu.

SM14 - The Fruit of Courage: Lilie and Rokon! (Feb 9th)
>The Pokémon egg Satoshi and his friends have all been taking care off together finally hatches, and they're all really excited about it. Lilie has been in charge of the egg, and her emotions towards it hatching are really strong. But she is still unable to touch Pokémon, so she ends up feeling down about the entire thing. And then, after school that day, an ominous shadow has its eyes set on Lilie while she's on her way home.

XY only appeals to self-insert fags. It has some great music and a few decent fights, but even by shonen standards it's weak. It doesn't have the character or emotional impact of its predecessors, and its narrative is a fucking mess.

It's much better than SM. SM is just a comedy anime. The battles are not interesting and not excited. Thanks to SM, the trips now make no sense anymore. By traveling, he became mature and adult. At first he was still childish, which is also understandable. And now turning him into an immature, childish Ash, does not give any logic. The comedy has been good for 19 seasons and no one has complained. But in SM is the comedy really shit. Ash behaves shit and tries to be funny now, which he never was. The fights are not interesting and not exciting, because Ash fought against someone who does not have a strategy and then gives him a crystal. A Pokemon gives Ash the crystal, rather than a captain (if the captains is in anime at all). This was badly implemented. The only, thing you can look forward to, is the fight between Ash and Hala. Everything else is momentarily boring in SM.

It's not really possible to get an accurate read on who would be the most popular in the anime. It's usually the one that gets most screen time though, so I guess we'll see over the course of SM. Iris might be the only exception to that, but even then her game counterpart was pretty good so she probably got a boost of popularity from that.
