The difference is I guess nobody expected anything out of type master goals so you can't get disappointed over it. Its the same thing with Brock's "Worlds best breeder goal." Did anyone give a damn we never saw Brock breed pokemon, all he ever did was make pokemon food.

Besides with Misty during Kanto/Orange it didn't matter since those sagas were so short and focused on Ash. Its only when Johto began that Misty's goal being lackluster became apparent.

Serebii and Bulbagarden aren't very active anymore, so 50 votes per poll is the norm. Most people don't use forums anymore and instead are on social media sites like twitter and tumblr.

Reason polls went on with over 100-200+ votes back in the AG and DP era is because back then most anime fans were on forums and social media didn't really take off yet. Hell most of AG aired even before youtube came out in 2005.

I'm enjoying SM for the most part so far, but its just nothing like the hype I got from watching XY. I actually believed things were happening back then, got excited for new titles, and was generally interested in where Ash and Serena's arcs would go, their pokemon, liked Bonnie/Clemont, etc.

The SM cast bar Sophocles is enjoyable...but overall its just hard to get excited.
