Okay, figured out Porygon since someone asked, and because I wanted to see if I could figure it out myself. In spoilers because I'm sure there's at least one person (other than me) who wants to do it all on their own.

1. Switch the lone Gible with Pidgeotto to get rid of the Gibles.
2. Move the Porygon at the bottom middle to make a match with the Porygon in ice, getting a 4 match of Pidgeotto in the process.

1. Move the Luvdisc in the second column in between the two Staryu. This should make a 4 combo.
2. Match the Staryu. There's only one way to do this from here.
3. Match the remaining Lapras by getting them all on the bottom row.

Beating it is easy enough. Just move the Porygon2 on the second row to the top row.

That'll always trigger it's Crowd Power ability and make the puzzle reset allowing you to do it again and again until it's defeated.

It's an exercise in monotony though and won't give you an S-Rank.

At max efficiency 1 Jewel gives 5000 coins. So if you're playing something like an escalation final boss where you buy all items and fail, it's cheaper to use the Jewel for 5 more moves, even 2 for 10 more moves than to try buying it again. The main time to use them is when you have a safari or escalation about to run out and don't have the hearts to finish it, that's when you buy them. Spending to get to grind faster when you'll end up just finishing earlier and then having nothing left to do is stupid and wasteful.

Does everyone agree that these last stages are actually fun? I mean, I'm up to Lanturn so far and at most I have needed 2 tries to clear a couple of them (I think Aggron was the one, and I can't remember the second) without using any items. No bullshit like Gothitelle at least.

Plus, I like that they gave us quite a few 3-Pokemon stages, and also the puzzle stages. Catching and S-ranking some of these new stages may need items and lots of trying, but simply clearing the stages is attainable without spending coins.

Oh, well, last week was dead week so I had reached (almost) max coins, spent around 8000 on items and great balls for Zekrom, grinded Meowth again till I hit (again almost) max coins and only started playing the new stages yesterday, and I'm not spending any coins (only the occasional great ball if I get a super catch rate on sth interesting) because I'm saving it for the escalation. The stages will be here after that anyway, why rush?
