i mean, archetype related plays, the fact that you cannot search Krystia and Vanity makes it quite random, even if you have good draw power.

The main idea is indeed relying on main deck monsters, but the fact that Morningstar have no protections and the others neither beside via Tesca makes it clanky, so you have to outgrind/use it as a Xyz engine.
Also, even if we are based on high level monsters, it feels like i am wasting my normal summon without vanity fiend/Krystia/squire shenanigans, making pure darklords pretty shit: the lvl 3 was meant to to fill that role but again he is trash. The field spell meme would fit nicely into the deck tho

Well, there should be a Darklord that basically does what Time Maiden does for Timelord.
Also, most Darklords have different levels so that's why I sayed Link instead of Xyz, I was not remembering Superbia (I usually avoid to rely on one card, I learned the hard way that you can't rely on one monster or card, be it from the Main Deck or Extra Deck, you have to rely on more than one)

Now that you mention it.
I did tried to make something different. I noted that certain cards are better for her than others, what I did was choose the most important ones for her (like Demolisher, Honest and Summoner Monk for three examples) and make like a "core" for her, to splash in other decks. It's still a work in progress and I am waiting for the Starter Deck Link (I'll be honest, I like Links, not as much as Synchros (much less Rituals), but I'll like them) to try something with the Cyberse monsters on that Starter.

There are less traps. Those three don't become staples magically, Compulse is shit now and Dark Hole just isn't that useful. Bottomless might be ran in trap-heavy stun decks, but it's not a 3-of in every deck like Solemn Strike is.

I honestly believe that the only thing KoA did good (and can make good things) is bringing the anime cards, even the ones that were only knowed by lore like Cosmic Blazar Dragon and even totally new ones that never appeared in both anime and manga but has some "sense" (like the new Timaeus Dark Magician Knight). And I feel that lately they are "improving" their exclusive cards.

So I was thinking of building a deck around this card. Using the monarch engine which does a good job of protecting it's summons and the potential for indestructible vanitys, whats not to like?
Theres just one problem, If my hand doesn't open up with uranus, my whole deck just falls flat. If I don't find a way to draw out uranus, then I just can't mount an attack. Sometimes I can work my hand as hard as possible, but without uranus, my deck just doesn't go off.

Out of all the formats of modern yugioh, was the arc-v era the only format where tribute summoning was a viable summoning method to the point of becoming tier 1?

You're also running into the classic mistake of thinking any given mechanic is inherently slow. Thinking that a tribute summon is slow because it takes two turns is like thinking a Synchro or Xyz summon is slow because you have to normal summon two monsters.

And tribute summon isn't always slow, its just how the concept is executed sometimes and there's also the recent generic support tribute summoning got like Stormforth and Tribute burial, and in True Draco's case, they can tribute summon during either player's turn and virtually have extra normal summons because of the true draco spell/traps second effect of tribute summoning a true draco. This gives them some advantage but i still think they're slow, they just happen to be hard to outgrind because they have draw power, the best field spell in the entire game and can recycle shit.

It gives them consistency i guess, the third effect more or less means you get a search every turn assuming you keep flipping your behemoths on the opponent's turn.
