I'm strongly in favour of historical pictures in the OP, and strongly against the infopic, but I'm not a steamcordplaza memer.

I like history pics because they're relevant, cool as fuck, and interesting. They really bring the subject of these games alive, in my view.

I dislike the infopic because it causes shitposting between people arguing what games are and aren't GS (stellaris, aurora, DW, etcetera), and it does genuinelly seem to have a larger amount of redditors and communists in, I don't know why, but I suspect because Redditors don't know how to search the catalog and simply look for the pic they remember.

This isn't some grandiose conspiracy, or at least if it is I'm not part of it, I just want a thread with less infighting and less redditors.

In that case, would anyone have any advice on beating Awakened Empires? I'm playing on Iron Man with all the empires on normal difficulty in a mid sized galaxy. Just about everyone in the galaxy at this point hates my guts but they cant do shit since I've got the strongest fleet in the Galaxy at this point.

However, this fucking Awakened Empire wakes up and starts churning out 150k fleets like crazy. My combined forces total like 100k atm, so I always end up having to run whenever this fucker goes to war with me. Ive managed to get him to a white peace this time (no idea how). Working on a mod around the USA falling apart during Shays' Rebellion
I have a 0.1 Version with the basic country changes done, but it keeps crashing 1 year into the game about 50% of the time so I'm gonna fix that before I release it. Probably Friday.

Currently all that's in here is the new countries/cultures, however there are still some disputed areas to fight over:
1. Vermont is still claimed by New York, as that issue was solved in our timeline by the US Constitutional Convention, but in this timeline that event never happened. New England also has a claim on the eastern half of Vermont to make New England whole.
In later versions, there will be an event for New York and New England to negotiate for the area. Britain can offer to pay NY for the land, or they can offer Vermont to NE(putting NE in their sphere), or they can also decide to tell both countries to fuck off and let Canada keep it.

2. New York and Virginia both have settled Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Currently they just both have claims on the whole area, but in later versions they won't start with cores and instead some sort of border dispute event will fire a few years in, giving one of the two(at random) a chance to either start a war or offer a permanent border that the other can accept or reject

3. The CSA has cores on Florida as Dixie settlers have moved in to the northern part of the state in the absence of any real attempt by the Spanish to colonize the area. No flavor planned as of now, maybe later.

4. In an effort to weaken the Mexico, Prussia has thrown their support behind a Navajo uprising against Mexico
At the start of the game, Navajo is in Prussia's sphere being attacked by Mexico with a "restore order" wargoal.
2 of Prussia's armies have been moved to Louisiana, and I've given Prussia Britain's level of naval tech(Theoretically they've upgraded their naval tech in the years since the Napoleonic Wars in order to stay connected to their American colony)

I should clarify what I meant here. Delete their provinces between Ontario and Alberta, instead move that line south, to Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and South Dakota, leave the inland uncolonised though, to represent them drawing a line here and putting forts along this border.
Places like Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Colorado should still be uncolonised and up for competition, to represent Britain and Prussia fighting for hegemony there.

Also, if possible, use as few straight line borders as possible. This needs to look natural and as if it were a frontier with sparesly placed forts, not a perfectly divided strip of land.

Also Mexico is still a power in the area, especially if they manage to beat Prussia and the Navajo in the initial war.
Prussia has the edge, but in testing I've seen Mexico win too.
It usually ends with either Prussia seizing Texas or Mexico re-annexing the Navajo but leaving Prussia's colony alone.

Nah, that would be too unrelated. I say have several events pop up, similar to the CSA events in vanilla, that basically make you choose between appeasing them or risking them breaking away.
Example, an event about them demanding to keep a large share of their slaves' production, if you refuse they get more independency, if you accept you lose 50% of the RGO.

In this 1836 Canada took in an influx of people fleeing the collapse of the United States, as well as the entire state of Vermont and a small chunk of New York, so it's more populous(hence them expanding and having the Great Lakes states as colonies), so it'd be a pressure of Canadian settlers and immigrants from Europe demanding Britain open up more land to them, while Britain also wants to appease the natives and keep Canada from getting too big.

When I said "When it's all Colonized" I worded that badly. As each province Britain finishes colonizing has an option to either:

>Give it to Columbia(raise Canadian tension) (In later builds Columbia will start as a separate British puppet)

If Canadian tensions get too high, they rebel and get cores on all of the west, if you keep it balanced they won't.
I'm thinking something like 2-3 provinces will be enough to make Canada happy(if you space them out correctly), and not creating a Native American state will slowly raise militancy in Metis cores until the Metis Confederacy eventually rebels.

This would work like the US system of deciding free or slave states.
