What happened with that anon who was making a mod to mechanise planets, did he ever finish and release it?
>>
I was going to post this on /tg/ but thought i'd try here first since people here are more likely to be familiar with the setting.

If I were to run a D&D campaign set in Endless Legend, how would you go about it? What racial traits would different races have? What would your main plot thread be?

I thought I could try having the Drakken employ the party as political ambassadors to unite the major races in an attempt to prevent the endless winter/ stop a cultist crusade/ do battle with a Necrophage horde or something. Have the party travel to different capital cities and have a subplot in each one.

Fishing primarily for ideas for quests and major plot hooks, and if anyone can provide any insight on creating/running homebrew that'd be amazing.
>>
>>181714557
What I like with D&D is that in a campaign, you don't have to be a hero. You can just try to escape, or be someone important's right hand.

So I would probably go for a hunt after a necrophage mutant while trying to gather forces to push back a wind walker assault.

>Was this fixed with the patches/expansions?
It's not really something that could be fixed in SP 4x. If you can gain an early military upper hand on your neighbours and stompt them into dust you will have an advantage in any 4x. That being said touching Impossible/Endless AI early on is nigh on impossible, pun not intended, challenge.
>dominant strategy
It's not, but it has a place, always.

>>181701453
If you aren't aversed to older games SMAC might be up your alley. Also Last Federation is a neat little indie game that fits many of your criteria.

>>181709032
No and Yes.
>>
>>181714557
>D&D campaign
Not the best choice for it. GURPS if you are into it, pathfinder or something equally modular would do better.

D&D is simply too set in it's ways for adapting it to other systems, you will always have it's ears sticking out of various holes. I'm also pretty sure /tg/ tried to create a custom system for EL, might worth trying to dig it out.

>>181714557
>What racial traits would different races have?
Game covers that extensively, but you will have to go trough the list yourself and figure what you want in your game and what you don't.

>What would your main plot thread be?
There are 2 ways to do it - hunting the Dust Crystal, and not hunting the DC. If it's the latter than it depends on your centrepeice faction, if it's the former, its pretty much universal.

>I thought I could try having the Drakken employ the party as political ambassadors to unite the major races
Could work if you have the right players for it, be mindful that some factions have deep seated rivalries bordering on hatred for each other, Clans/Ardent and Fogotten/Vaulters come to mind, and would be difficult to convince both to come on board.
>>
>>181716358

Warlock is shit though, and straight up doesn't exist in PF anyway. Exploiter Wizard / Arcanist is the godclass without any 3pp in PF, while Spellsage is basically Archivist, nerfed just a tiny bit. In 3.5e if I 'went big' I'd obviously go for Conjurer | Rainbow Servant or Dread Necromancer | Rainbow Servant. Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil is overrated though.

Hollow circles like a bee hive; start with an X with your city center and first four borough streets and make cells from there

Some of the cultists (The things that fanatics ride and the armless servitors/solid blocks the preachers use) are pure automatons, while others are a collection of converts from the many peoples of Auriga
Whenever the Queen "chooses" read: messes with the head of a member from either group, they get dragged to the center of the city and tortured/mind fucked for weeks while their body shifts, transforming into the Cultists' elite (giraffe-necks, the Chosen heroes, and the Nameless Guard)

>>181726401
It's a shallow title, it's only worth if you want to daydream about being a galactic emperor of your personalised empire, the game itself offers very little substance, but a lot of generic fluff to go along with your daydreaming.

This is not intended to insult it's players, just trying to explain what people actually mean when they say roleplaying is the only good aspect of stellaris.

Tho I'm told it has some decent mods because of how easy it is to mod for.
>>
>>181726401
Simply put :
>replayability is low
>governement has little effect
>AI is botched and designed to be a challenge to you, so alliances are limited
>planet management system is £#@¤µ shit
>there are no easy way to manage fleets, you build them one ship after another
>your input on battle is too limited and unlike EU4, you have no terrain
>>
>>181726030
Why the fuck do you repost this meme? The point of patterns in EL is to have the least unupgraded districts. Out of all, only moons and super triangle meet the requirements.
>>
>>181726401
poor replayability, flawed game design, a general lack of depth, and very stingy business policy
>>181726709
caterpillar is honestly the ardent mages' best bet though - it provides a large amount of level 2 districts, covers a large surface area without requiring a super wide region, and provides excellent places for pillars (if you put it in the center of the spaces between the caterpillar's "legs", the bonus will be applied to its maximum thanks to the exploitation of the land around it)
>>
>>181726828
Broken rode is actually very efficent, it covers almost optimal territory and has only 4 lvl one districts. Big Triangle is the optimal one, period. Just math. The others are for snaking around difficult areas and special cases, not for optimal output.

>>181726973
>caterpillar is honestly the ardent mages' best bet though
Yeah, late game - sure, but I play with irregular shapes and it very hard to fit that monstrosity in. And early game its suboptimal since you spend almost 50% more districts and still miss a square in the lvl 1 pillar square. Contrast it with a simple C shape that spends 4 districts and covers all 7 hexes of interest.
>>
>>181726709
My favorite city was when playing Broken Lords I filled up the entire region with districts, had a pop of almost 100.
Good times.
>>
>>181727385
Yeah BL "We can do it better than Cult" megacities are amusing, but by the time you can construct them you've already won. The reason I remember that particular city is that it was a very good way of making the best of a difficult situation where I spawned on top of 3 anomalies but almost no industry in range of the settler or the anomalies.

Prioritize assimilating minor factions with food production. If you think you can get away with a war against a faction like Riftborn or Vodyani, do it. Their assimilation bonuses are huge.

Would anyone have any advice on beating Awakened Empires? I'm playing on Iron Man with all the empires on normal difficulty in a mid sized galaxy. Just about everyone in the galaxy at this point hates my guts but they cant do shit since I've got the strongest fleet in the Galaxy at this point.

However, this fucking Awakened Empire wakes up and starts churning out 150k fleets like crazy. My combined forces total like 100k atm, so I always end up having to run whenever this fucker goes to war with me. Ive managed to get him to a white peace this time (no idea how). But I guarantee he's coming after my ass again in 10 years. What do I do?

Fine, let's talk about SEVEN KINGDOMS 2.
>>
Seven Kingdoms 2 is an old real-time strategy game, with limited 4x elements and also a limited economy, more focused on units and experience than on gold.
It's perfectly possible to have a lot of food, a lot of gold, an excellent reputation, but still get rekt because the kingdom attacking you has veteran units.

Therefore, you're encourage to be aggressive, to build up your forces and give experience to your units.
To give you an idea, a human soldier starts with a combat skill of 20. It can go to 200, unlocking a new attack and boosting its HP in the process.
Through it's simplifying the situation, as wealthy and advanced kingdoms can build war machines to compensate for limited manpower, but these have a higher upkeep, don't get experience, and don't benefit from leadership bonuses, so veterans and heroes can tear through war machines.

Ultimately, the game suffers from a couple of flaws : it's too easy to snipe enemy generals and cripple an army, some civilizations are unbalanced (some of them don't have a single ranged attack while others start with one), and there's a lack of unit variety (only soldiers and unique units, not counting the civilians or war machines), and economy is pretty much "spam towns", which makes Egyptians overpowered as they can use temples to boost their population and turtle without needing to expand like other kingdoms, while the AI is pretty retarded, sometimes even unable to recover from their forces, so as soon as you can defeat their main army, they're done for.

The thing that I really like about Seven Kingdoms 2 is the freedom you have.

Unlike, I dunno, Lords of Everquest, in which you need to raise your units before promoting them, in Seven Kingdoms 2, you can promote any military unit you want. So you can have a Japanese samurai leading a ninja army, or a greenhorn general leading an army of veterans who can totally rekt his ass (and probably do, because there are no women).

My favourite was when I summoned supernatural monsters to join my army and had them being under my king's command. Out of respect for his unmatched skills, they never defected or died.

How to invade? As in the more advanced mechanics. Do I need to keep sending new fleets with more manpower all the time? Where the fuck is the bombard from orbit button to reduce defences?

I am trying to exterminate the trees.

Also, how the fuck do I remove the religious party for the faction quest? I've spent the last 100+ turns boosting support for it as Vodyani.
>>
And how do Minor Factions work for Vodyani?

I've Brainwashed/assimilated them. Some of them are even within my faction influence area. Game tells me I should be getting their faction trait. But it doesn't look like I am getting any bonus other than the extra resources.

>>181818596
You are getting a faction trait. You can check it out on the empire screen.
>>
I'm not him but have question about planetary assault in es2. I blockade the system and defencive manpower lowers, ok, I get it. But when I press ground battle button all the fleets in orbit deplete their manpower, deploy only current limit and then ground battle happens, where goes the rest of manpower? It comes even to situations where I move fleets out of system, so only one of them spend their crew and bring other fleets a turn later to not waste people into nothing.

What is a genre? A miserable little pile of arbitrary conventions! But enough talk! Have at you!

You cant because either the faction doesnt like you or it doesnt like the other members. Besides I think they need that special status beforehand (cant remember the name) that places them in good relations with the federation.

General rule for federations is that they should only be formed by non xenophobe factions of similar ethoses. In those circumstances it becomes ridiculously easy to form one and thats for what they are used for.

There are no more gamebreaking bugs for vast majority of players as of the latest patch. The game is fun but feels a bit raw/unfinished the balance is off the mark and the AI isn't very challenging if you are a 4x veteran.

The game is enjoyable but hits a ceiling of replayability rather quick, due to those factors.

Granted, if you are just looking for something to play it will probably give you a few dozen hours of fun before you start noticing those problems.
>>
>>181821551

I've been trying to develop an egalitarian faction that competes with slavers at min/max at the start but its ridiculously difficult. Im always in doubt if I should take mechanist or not. Slaves with slaver guilds and industrious trait beats robots on tiles superior to 3.
>>
>>181821932
Well, not really, because in Broodwar, you know where you start and you have an idea where the enemy start, so there's no "explore" as you already know how the map is like. same for Supreme Commander.
Rise of Nations and Seven kingdoms 2 have randomly generated maps, as well as ressources, which gives you a reason to explore.

But it's all technical.

>>
>>181824171
Because RPG means "roleplaying".
What role playing is there in just watching a story?
>>
>>181824108

Its still strong. Kinetics are horse shit late game, save for autos+afterburners because of the shit tracking. MIssiles already deal extra shield damage. That way the player starts with missiles for pwnage and then researches disruptors/lasers for large size weapons and swarmer for mediums. It hits everything.

i honestly don't play mages that much at all, but all of your units are glass cannons; until you get a good frontliner minor faction assimilated, expect high casualties for anything that isn't a pheonix

also, dust is a very high priority due to the pillars; they are your bread and butter that push you beyond your opponents when properly used - also, remember that you can use spells in combat to turn battles!

food is only important to focus on in order to complete borough patterns to fully make use of your pillars

once you have like ten or twelve horatio (or like six for the early game) it's always worth it to genemod, you will get more output and faster growth out of them than the shit pops that would be clogging up your planets

if you are actually not genemodding you completely misunderstand the purpose of horatio and should completely reevaluate how to play him
>>
>>181831995
>>181832871
There cost of modding increases by 2 each time. The extra fidsi you get from the mod often doesn't pay until way later compared to just keeping the pop.

That combined with expensive shitty ships means you never win wars.
>>
>>181833846
>There cost of modding increases by 2 each time. The extra fidsi you get from the mod often doesn't pay until way later
Which is why you shouldn't just blindly genemod everything you see, focusing instead on races most useful to your game. And by midgame you should have enough horatios where genemodding is a no-brainer. Just research and build food, mate.

Aesthetic choice is quite deliberate, and models staying more or less the same throughout is a necessity because of having as many various ones as the game does. The equipment does indeed starts to look different lategame, tho cities do not. I'll spare you the explanation for the technomagic going on and just say that if you are so autistic as to dislike the visuals because they dont fit human tech development pattern, EL is probably not the game for you.

ES on the other hand starts at spacefaring age with FTL, SO I can't see how any of your complaints are related to it.

It's not about development patterns. In one faction you can clearly see a giant robot in the background. Yet they start at the primitive age same as the faction literally made of bugs.
>>
>>181850954
the issue is that there are more urgent options for your opening than it; if you're on a situation where urgency and a quick rollout aren't as important, it's not a bad pick instead

just know that if you want to get endless machining (refreshes all explored ruins), the 10% ruin efficiency tech is pretty much mandatory and vice versa

You realise we have encountered no alien intelligence, right? You realise we would have jack shit worth of an Idea how their tech developed and what it will look like to our eye? Even within human cultures it has been known to happen that the most high tech and elaborate construction look like a toy or don't look like tech at all. I'll skip the radio romans, and will go with something I find far more amusing. A sundial . Do you know how much time it took humanity to figure that shit out and let it stick? And do you know how the most primitive version of it looks? It's just a fancy stick stuck in mud. with some symbols around it.

Hell just take biological organisms, they have the mind numbing complexity out matching our tech by centuries, and yet they occurred purely trough universe masturbating at random.

Again, you don't like the visuals, no sweat, don't play it, but stop lying to yourself about the fact that it's the game isn't realistic and not you are who used to common tropes and patterns that deviating form them causes discomfort.

That's the thing. I can't find any playing as AM. Food farms seem wasteful, they are only good if you are going wide and AM can't do that cause cities need to be shaped for pillars hence Approval issues. Pretty much all buildings fall into the same pitfall, only the mill escaping it by virtue of industry being too important to ignore early game. And approval ofc, cause that's approval. Mercenary market is meh, cause you won't have enough money to recruit anyone for half the game cause pillars are consuming all the dust. I guess Military science can be decent for some early fortification against AI aggression to help glass cannons defend themselves, but overall once you are done with resource extractors you don't have all that many useful techs as AM at T1.

Or maybe I'm overthinking this because I can't get a decent game going and I should just take a brake and chill.

It'd be great if pirates were more mercenary pirates. Had some kind of diplomacy based around extortion and mercenary work, along with a black market. Pay pirates to do hit and run raids on an other faction, for a previous model ship from an other empire (to reverse engineer), for some pirate ships to join, to raid a colony for some pops/slaves. They'd be able to "capture" mining stations in systems with no military presence. As the game progressed they'd get more or less powerful depending on how successful they were at gathering resources.

Colonizing at the start like anyone else.
Pick religious option at the starting quest and get a free second tier ship. Take it on a victory lap across the universe and conquer all minor factions you come across, prioritizing those that give better troop traits if they happened to spawn. Remember to upgrade infantry, restock the free ship with more troops as necessary and use preemptive bombardment tactic on minors.
Pump out more and more ships and conquer your neighbors and boom.
Steal all the wonders while you're at it (as in build them yourself) since depletion bonus is so crazy good you'll finish them in a handful of turns.
Governor heroes also level like crazy due to depletion bonuses.
And yeah, Craver systems can't rebel even at 0 approval so you technically don't need to worry about over-expansion, though it does apply the usual system specific and empire wide maluses on FDSI generation (not Industry though).

In general just make sure you have access to strategic resources and manpower so you can keep on blobbing.

>don't even think about population?
In early game before over-expansion makes all your attempts useless you might actually want to manage pops if you want the approval based % bonuses on FDSI, since Cravers enslave non-Cravers only if they're on the same planet. This means if you move Cravers away from planets (not the entire system, the planet is enough) you can play around between slavery output vs. system approval.
>>

>>
>>181895287
Even when you planets are depleated, the +50% bonus is soo good so early that you will be ahead of another system due to upgrades for at least 3 times as long as it took to deplete iin the first place.

Basically: you need to "deplete" your planets 3 times before the system is worse than a non-depleted system.

Cravers are WAY op.

You want to produce food as quickly as you produce districts and buildings i.e. you want to get to that 4 pop breakpoint after you've build all era 1 buildings you have and a district, 6 after era 2 buildings and yet another district, etc. This usually means that you'll have pops on iindustry or dust depending on whether you are buying or building stuff.

I remember reading some logs in the end game high tech dungeon of some might and magic game (probably 6), where it talked about how they were losing a war against some alien so they were sending out colony ships everywhere. That's fine. Explains the blasters, the robots and all that.

Doesn't explain why everyone could cast spells though. Not everyone was the super-tech cyborgs from the end of Might and Magic 4-5.

>Research on Gene Seed Purification completes

ive just been using giga cannons and kinetic artillery.

>>

No, theres some use for fighters since they double as anti-missile but bombers are flat out hard countered by Flak
>>
>>181952436
>are carriers good for anything in stellaris?
No. Their ships have a long travel time and are completly destroyed by PD.

It's usually better to run two L weapon slots instead of an XL slot. Also, you should mix some ships with plasma weapons in to rape enemies that rely on armor.
>>

Two kinetic artilleries are better thanks to no limited firing arc. But the giga cannon is the most useful XL because of its massive range.
It's not like you need to be a minmaxing turbonerd against the AI though. I mean, I run fleets with Arc Emitters just because I can.

>It's usually better to run two L weapon slots instead of an XL slot. Also, you should mix some ships with plasma weapons in to rape enemies that rely on armor.
the giga cannon has pretty good AP.
ive mostly been fighting awakened ascendants so it seemed like long range was good to counter their lasers and kinetics was the way to go since they have a mix of shields and armor

>Especially when Paradox were dumb enough to admit the price will be going back to normal AFTER the Steam sale.

This is the hilarious part. If they kept silent it would have been impossible to prove that the price increase was made to cheat consumers. But the idiots admitted they would be restoring the original prices. And then madmen actually did it! Sale ended and prices are back to normal.

Really made me wish I had bought all their games with all their DLCs for $500-1000 or however much it costs. If I knew the fuckers would make it so easy to prove they committed fraud it would have been possible to ask a full refund for that AND to keep the games as compensation at the very minimum.

Do you disagree? I like having my pops being in political parties, so that I can address their wants. It provides an interesting pressure on the player in which you get influence and happiness by doing something that might not otherwise be mechanically sound (such as declaring war on an enemy empire when you don't have the forces to actually defeat them).

It's certainly better than factions as nothing more than groups of rebels who gradually prepare for a strike over the course of decades.

All of the Tile Blocker techs have a base cost of 480. They have the second lowest research cost of any techs. There are nine of them total. The free research equivalent is "you get one free T5 tech" basically.

The absolute only reason to get Master of Nature is if you're going very wide very quickly, as this will definitely help you with ponying up the 100e/100m per blocker at that point in the game. Interestingly enough, the energy and minerals you save by choosing this perk are less than you would fail to earn if you take Imperial Prerogative, because you have 5 more systems that aren't paying 25% tax.

In any case, long-run it's absolute trash.

Just bought stellaris and I already know I will spend a fair bit of time on this game

I'm in the late game, two ancient aliens have popped up and started warring everyone. I'm leading the neutral faction, my biggest rival throughout the game has joined the aliens so I'm going to enjoy crushing them. Although when I tell a fleet to move and attack an enemy fleet in the same system, the fleet will do nothing for a good 5-10 seconds before carrying out the order. Why is this?

Also, you weren't kidding when you said that micromanaging the building upgrades would be such a bitch.
>>
>>181984179
Especially now, because I made an evasion tanking long range kinetic fleet to murder ALL of the cravers (protip missile a shit), but the system has still been sieging for the last 8 turns due to all of the population offloaded onto it.

Yeah- You'll notice that all your orbiting ships in an invasion will lose their manpower because they've been dispatched (invisibly) to the invasion. Its annoying from the invaders perspective as well because you sometimes don't get the manpower back afterwards.

nah. minmaxing is just winning the game by juggling numbers, without any attachment to the faction you are playing.
have you ever tried to create a faction, based on an idea, and tried to stick to it, knowing that there may be better choices metagamewise? like sure, i could use this or that bonus but fuck it, we'll stick to our ideals?
it may be a relic from my past experience of pen & paper roleplaying, but people just minmaxing always kill all the fun.

>not mention of lasers or kinetics
>>
>>181998174
Not him but big stuff like that rarely has PD in any meaningful capacity and missiles do do slightly more damage than other weapons. PD just fucks them so hard it's never appropriate past super early game. I think big stuff like that usually has capped armor though so plasma probably reigns supreme as usual.
>>
>>181998309
Lasers are a nothing burger
>>
>>181998309
Lasers and Kinetics don't have an especially high accuracy or the ability to be shot down by a weapon type -- thus they're both respectable generic choices outside of super early game and idealized equip setups. Kinetics will do better against a shield heavy early-mid to early-late fleet composition while lasers will do better against an armor heavy early-mid to early-late fleet.

Super early fleets are going to be heavily weighted towards corvettes with 60-66% evasion means weapons have the lesser of:
accuracy+(tracking-evasion) and accuracy.

Mass driver (s) is ~70% accuracy
Red laser (s) is ~80% accuracy
Missile (s) is ~104% accuarcy.

Destroyers already have such shit evasion that medium weapons generally overcome all of it and missiles stop doing anything special, but it will still matter on large sized weapons.

Thus, Missiles > Corvettes > Large weapons > Big Ships > PDD (shit damage and range) // Flakk (no other bonuses) > Missiles
>>
Endless space 2:

A hunter with long range kenetics, the +critical/damage support modules for kinetics, and plate armor

A protector with move speed, 1 fleet shield, and 1 fleet repair.

The above two ships compose the ultimate "can't hard counter me" fleet. Be sure to put them all in the same flotillia and put them all at long range or beams will rape you.

It's fucking amazing (in a bad way) how much stuff in Stellaris is just complete fluff. I've played CK2 and I've played EUIV, and in both those games I don't think there's a single mechanic that I've never had a legitimate strategic reason to use. But in Stellaris, a third of the game mechanics are literally pointless, another third are almost pointless, and the remaining third is "Muh minerals"

> species rights - who cares whether minor alpine species 13 can colonize or not? Just don't choose to build him a damn colony ship
> reform government - apart from that one tech where you get an extra civic, there is never a good reason to press this button
> the vast majority of other government mechanics - emergency elections, support candidate, embrace faction
> edicts - unbelievably weak for their influence cost. Even if you play a hyperspirutual build and get the cost down to like 10 blurple, then 10 blurple is still vastly more valuable from the 20 minerals you might get if you use production targets on a hyperspecialised endgame mineral only world
> prevent atrocity wargoals - I did actually use this once to influence farm, but the *stated* goal is utterly pointless
> half the genetic traits - talented? Quick learners? And even for the "objectively good" ones like industrious, the bonuses are barely noticable on a macro scale
> megastructures - that's some nice "awful return on investment" you got goin there
> unrest - has anyone ever had a rebellion? Anyone?
> armies - when I go on the army builder on a multispecies planet I have like 50 different options and they are all functionally identical
> empire builds in general - beyond the different map colours, what is the functional difference between Empire X and Empire Y? Fuck all that's what

The game design just feels really half-assed. Like they didn't think "lets design a good game with varied strategies", but instead "Let's just throw sci-fi tropes at the Clauswicz engine at random, who cares if it's balanced?"

faction support makes your population happy, which makes then work better. i used emergency elections to elect a admiral into office that made my battleships build faster and cheaper

Yeah but it doesn't though.
I mean, sure, it does IN THEORY, but in practice your pops are gonna be chaotically distributed by both faction and kind-of-facility-they're-working such that any positive change in the happiness of one faction is balanced out by the negative change in happiness of another faction. There's no way you can exploit this behavior strategically.

> naval cap is not weak
And if there were an edict that boosts naval cap this would be relevant, but The Grand Fleet is a policy, not an edict

>androids dont suffer moral penalty for example
Again, a distinction without a difference. Sure, there are *technically* differences between armies, but *in practice* 99.99% of the invasions that happen in a Stellaris game are gonna be "overwhelming offensive force against bombarded-to-zero fortification planets" such that the actual nature of the defending / offending armies prove completely irrelevant

> now youre just a faggot
I have worked in good faith until this point, but the only person who could defend the near-total fungibility and lack of personality of Stellaris empires is t. Wiz

Jesus christ Cravers need a nerf. There is no possible way to out-fight them. If they find you before 50 turns have passed its GG.

Read the comment again.

100 coil gun (2.5mineral x 3) corvettes (costing 57 minerals total, no ftl, tier 1 engine and thruster) will lose to 100 nuclear missile (2.5mineral x 3) corvettes (costing 57 minerals total, no ftl, tier 1 thruster, radar and 2 small nuclear reactors) where the missile corvettes will win with 40% losses.

5,700 minerals & 100 fleet cap vs 5,700 minerals & 100 fleet cap.

>Theres a reason why naked corvettes with coilguns beat anything else in terms of military power/mineral ratio.
Is the reason "people repeat a meme without testing it first"?
>>
>>182029220

You are full of shit. I have done these tests in the console for fixed budgets and coil guns always won.

In the console with a non ironman mode using two factions of either similar militarist ethos or none at all for balance with no admirals each:

Types:
>ai
>research_technologies
build ship
>add_ship [shipname]
..add as many according to budget
>play 01
repeat steps from research_technologies onwards to build the second fleet

Coilguns win the vast majority of times. Naked corvettes with lvl 1 coil guns vs naked corvettes with lvl 1 missiles. The command "play 00" switches to your original faction and other digits (play 01, play 02, etc) change to others.

You are full of shit or either one of the factions was a fanatic purifier or militarist while the other was not..

There's the "hangar mod" if you're into storing ships into a container so it's not loaded by physics beyond mass.
>>
>>182030569

When ship A fires a missile to ship B, if ship B has a long range turret, ship B will always hit ship A first when both are in range, adding more alpha strike to B's fleet. Theres no such thing as kiting in stellaris since ships keep closing in after engagement.

Also if several ships of type A fire a missile at the same type B ship, odds are the total damage is overkill, resulting in wasted time.

It was exactly like that in early versions (well... close to it) but now its nowhere near.

No PD my ass! If theres two things the AI abuses is PD and plasma weapons. It also usually prefers shields.

Okay, so for your information, AI War (full name : Ai War-Fleet Command) is an indie real-time strategy game.

Actually I was wrong in one thing (just checked). "research_technologies" command gives kinetics around 10% more firepower (equivalent of a militarist ethos).

It still loses though. According to reddit, Wiz will apply missile retargeting (his own words). I expect it (it should at least) be the strongest early game meta. Its the only weapon that has a dedicated counter to it.

Ofc turtles rule in small gangs. I dont expect them to be decent in large battle though.
