I certainly don't agree with their modus operandi.
What's the problem with putting out really small balance tweaks? They could've easily taken shieldmaidens veteran status and Hjalmars 2 points a week or 2 ago and then proceeded from there.
But ultimately it's their call. I'd rather have them do it their way instead of just implementing every balance change the stupid masses demand.

QoL changes are another thing though. Listening to the community when it comes to that is usually a very good thing. The best example for this is Dota 2. Valve usually is very quick with implementing smaller and medium QoL changes, while balancing remains in Icefrogs capable hands entirely.

It seems like the devs are perfectly capable of going full retard without reddit's help. Their idea of balancing is just nerfing. A thing is popular? Nerf it. A card is powerful? Nerf it.
Instead of nerfing everything into the ground, they should buff things that counter powerful plays. This makes meta game more diverse, not less. I hate playing against weather, but I'd rather have new ways to deal with it on my own than have the devs simply neuter weather into irrelevance.

Ambush was infinitely stronger than tier 3 Spell ST, that's for sure, but that doesn't make it worse. It was a well rounded deck with multiple win conditions. Spell ST is a shitty gimmick deck like Swim's Fringilla+Letho carryover deck. These decks may be rather weak but they are frustrating on a whole different level. Exploit decks like these are shit and don't belong in the game.

Your spells mean nothing now.

Mill rates look completely and utterly fucked. They do not appear consistent for everyone and even in one person's client have been reported to change. Some people are milling for 1600 scraps, others for 800 scraps + dust, some had one then the other. Commons and Rares are displaying their old (lower) mill rates. Could be a host of visual bugs, or it might not. Unless you wanna try and get the max scrap mills I'd advise against milling anything until this is all cleared up.

My opening move was to try mulligan for quen ing the Riders and getting them out with Navigators and Eredin+Navigator if need be, either getting the first round, forcing a card disadvantage on the enemy, or leaving the riders with me for round 2. Then pound them with frost and damage as much as possible.
Weak to an earily Scorch and good weather removal, but I feel my worse loses were from being outnumbered with another Monsters or NG.

Buffing isn't always == biggerererer numbers
For example, the problem with weather, as I see it, is it instead of making the situtation on the board more complex and interesting, it simplifies it. You either have a clear, or you're fucked. It's binary. Weather is potentially an interesting mechanic that could spice up the game, just not in the state it was. The solution would be to improve non-clear skies mechanics that can battle weather - move, armor, healing, promotion (at the current state only Impera Enforcers have it and it's useless) and so on. Heck, introduce wacky cards that deal with weather but not so much everything else, how about

What I'm saying is that developers should aim to make the game more complex, not more "fair". Fairness is fucking boring, especially in card games, we need that potential for retardedly powerful synergies, it's fun, just not so often.
