Since it looks like exchanging moon dust for scrap is never going to come back, I guess I should start considering what cards I want to movie. Vilgefortz is obvious because he's the best moviecard, but I don't play much nilf lately. This is going to be tricky.

On the upside, turns out not milling anything since the launch of open beta,
then milling only nerfed cards after the first patch and abusing the powder loophole,
then milling only nerfed cards this patch paid off. Haven't bothered to tot it up but I've either got enough for a complete collection or damn close to it now. If only the game was as much fun as closed beta. Never thought I would miss fucking ambush squirrel.

Haven't even dicked with reveal yet myself though since I tore up Leo, but the impression I've been getting when I get matched against it is the buffs didn't matter that much. But they've also all been idiots running mangonel so who knows.

Drought still isn't very good but it might be the pick there anyway. The main appeal to Kayran was if you were playing a Borkh deck, since you're playing a 16 gold and hiding whatever you ate behind gold points too. With the Borkh nerf/rework (More of a rework since he's still good) protecting points in a thicc penis isn't as important.

Coral only synergizes with axemen, but it's a moot point because she's a general purpose good card and can be put in any Skellige deck and isn't terrible.

Ermion is primarily for discard with a slight degree of Kambi. Coral's fine in discard too, so build a discard deck. It isn't rocket science, play king Bran, 3 pirates, 3 pirate captains, 3 queensguard, 3 priestesses, all the draw and discard shit, Ciri Dash if you have it and if you don't then whatever 2 other good golds you've got, etc.

Arguably the only point of Johnny is if you're playing Ciri Dash memes, because you can discard her which shuffles her buffed back into your deck and copies one of your opponent's golds. The problem is that Foltest pushes trebs over 3 and they are now the only card that will spawn the copied BSC's, Sergeants can't be ran, but honestly those things work more to set up over powered scorches and epis, they're high risk high reward. In the old patch I'd use reaver scouts to draw to copies but they were slightly bugged. this patch BSC looks deader than ever.

Radovid control probably works fairly well with trebs/ballistas etc for removal for big barons, I would probably avoid tunneling on crewmen pockets as they're low temp so the opponent will just steam ahead, I'd perhaps use the siege platforms to replay them and create pockets for towers= in the process maybe.

Can also see the armour remove red knights/elites/dun banner heavies being a pretty decent deck foundation for NR.

I think they'll take off bigly, just don't buy into the dwarves they will be the target of the anti meta choices till the next patch cycle, they are so easy to counter, whats more they won't be nerfed so you won't get your scraps back just like the QueensGuard hype that lasted like 3-4 days last patch and in turn spawned the grave robbing Regis higher craze.

They are a lot like Kaedweni siege supports, I screw these players over by playing high tempo moves get 20+ points ahead whilst he's placing his second then pass, if you ever managed to drop two of these unscathed a smart player will just let you take the round hopefully for 1-2 cards.

It's not a waste of a lock though. Dealing with the spotters is a completely different problem that is handled in a different manner entirely, I'd honestly question why someone would ever use fiend/margarita on a spotter.

I'm not over estimating I'm talking percentages, with 3 in the deck your chances of having 2 in round 1 are some what low its more unlikely than likely, scorpions drawn in round 2 are better than mangonels as you're likely to have at least 1 method to trigger it and again its a practically guaranteed 12 strength per card.

Scorpions are essentially 24 - 36 strength every game, Mangonels typically = 1 getting locked so 6 + 1 potentially getting use in round 1 for a very generous 18 points and one being in the deck at the games end. That is assuming you get both in round 1, if you don't you're burning through those reveals regardless.

That's assuming the opponent doesn't cut their losses when you set up your war machine, passes and lets you take the round for a card or worse 2.

CDPR is being absolutely retarded with the NR nerfs.

They nerf Trebuchets because in very specific setups Trebs can be buffed to being 8 STR and used to hit for 12 damage when capped to 3 targets.

So they thought "no this is too much" Not taking into account the vast amount of cards and buffs it takes for you to reach that 20 point value on a treb.

MEANWHILE Monsters put down a Celano Harpy + Vran and the harpy alone generates 21 points in value without the Vran.

Or Sapper hitting 5 units alone is a 16 point play.

Or Elven Merc pulling a Thunderbolt Potion is a 14 play

All with no setup.

But for some reason when they are discussing NR balance they have to take into account that there may be in some situations a case where your enemy lines up 3 units and you line up 3 units and then you can generate some strong value from Trebuchets... So they just pre-emptively nerf it.


Im calling favoritism at this point. The reason behind the hotfix was to bring Skellige and Monsters winrates and pickrates under control. But what it turned into is Monsters being T1, Skellige still being T1 or T2 and NR being shitstomped into the ground.

It's a toss up, I don't think CDPR is retarded, so I don't buy the whole "we're trying to find a state of balance bullshit", I think they are misguided.

I think they believe that if they control what becomes meta by forcing it through deliberate imbalance they create demands for cards that weren't there. I have no idea why they removed the ability to trigger the BSC trio effect but they also did that.

So the reason they nerf NR is because in very very specific setups NR units got above average value.
But they are so dumb to realize that this pidgeonholes all the decks into these specific setups. NOONE can run Trebs outside sergeants buffing them.

Without playing trebuchet next to 2 crewmen, which takes you exactly 3 turns to set up. Your trebuchet on its own is HALF an arachas venom in value.

Its a 6 point bronze value. Which can be countered by armor and which can be interrupted by playing gold cards or armor between units you want to hit.

So they nerfed a card to being HALF the value of a neutral spell because in some specific setups which required a lot of investment and setup these cards had high value...

Meanwhile you have Dol Blathanna Trappers and Elven Mercenaries and Celano Harpies and Rot Tossers having the same value with little to no setup.

This isnt balance, its a joke.
