Participants will be matched up with others who sign-up and fight for the claim to be /dsg/'s champion on May 19th, 5pm PST. The winner and runner-ups will receive prizes including Steam games and being better than everyone else who fought.

RULES:
-There will be two teams: Peasantry and Nobility. Once you’ve made the choice you can’t go back. Both teams have a certain list of approved weapons you can check on the sign-up sheet. Not following the rules results in a disqualification (and public shaming)
-Maximum Soul Level of 80 allowed. Someone with CE open will be monitoring all players to make sure this rule and others aren't broken.
-The starting location will be High Wall, followed by Undead Settlement and ending at Lothric Castle.
-Fights are best of 3
-Each fight is 2 minutes long, the one with the most % health left at the end will win if both are alive.
-Only two Ashen Estus sips per fight, any more and your win will not count, initiating a rematch. Do this twice and you are disqualified
-All Regen items and spells are banned to disincentive passive shittery. This includes Sun Princess Ring, spells like Bountiful Sunlight, and anything infused with Blessed.
-Normal FC rules still apply such as no healing items. Fight rotation will be determined once brackets are set.
-Requirements to join: Discord and/or Steam ID for organization purposes.
If people don't respond a week prior to the tournament and they've signed up, they're disqualified

General quality of Jap voice actors seems to be high, but that's probably just due to the contrast of so much English voice work being fucking shocking. I honestly don't know how they expect to be paid for some of the stuff you hear on Anime dubs or videogame voices. Claymore shits all over Executioner's and you only need to go 27str to get max damage. Executioners can't be infused which means it needs quality to have good damage. Falchion has more AR than Sabre but also has the SHORTEST range in the class, SHORTER THAN THE FUCKING SCIMITAR, so it gets outclassed easily by Sabre that still has Scimitar range.

From what I recall reading the ideas are written out in Japanese and then translated for the voicework. They also probably give the actors a lot of creative freedom with it.
Remember though that Miyazaki has talked about the inspiration for his ideas coming from reading old English fiction, in English, like King Arthur. The themes and language used in Souls fit the period of literature he apparently has an interest in, so it wouldn't be surprising if he OKs the voice work based on an understanding of that kind of Olde English.

The Sword is far better and actually a great weapon for PvE. It has the same range as the Dark Sword and despite having less AR its moveset allows it to make use of its natural Frost buildup far better while having thrust R2s and Stance WA. Irithyll meanwhile is one of the shortest rapiers and the rest of its moveset is kind of mediocre, also it requires a quality build still while other rapiers now outdamage it when pure Dex.

The most hilarious one for me is the Cathedral Knights on the rafters. You can get them to kill themselves by shooting them with an arrow and then backing up. Without fail, they will try to path to you and take a flying leap into the pool of giant shit below.

I think it's something to do with audio cues. Different armour sets make different amounts of noise, and that changes when you'll aggro things with sound. You can also alert stuff with combat noises. When a mob ends up in some random position I just assume you somehow triggered it at an unusual time and it walked itself somewhere trying to reach you.

I'm bursting with excitement when I'm thinking up new characters and creating backstories for them, what equipment I want them to use and that sort of thing.

And honestly I like making new characters for DS3 but the thing is that Lothric High Wall and CoA are fun, but Road of Sacrifices is so incredibly fucking dull part of the game and there are no sequence breaks for it. Bloodborne kept things interesting by the different events that influenced stuff and there was a greater wealth of optional stuff you could do almost in any order after you killed Gascan and Memelia.

Duels in das3 are so fucking trash. You can never use the setup you're used to because the holy trinity of weapons can't be countered by most of them and unless you abide to the fucking meta all you can do is cry.

Unless you're using a spear to counter a greatsword, a straight sword to counter a spear or a greatsword to counter a straight sword you're going to have a fucking bad time. Don't even get me started on fucking crossbows and how poise interacts with latency, jesus christ what an abomination.

They are 2 because most likely the host is bad at the game. What the guy is thinking is: "fuck this guy I just want to progress through this game for the first time and this asshole wants to come kill me"
The gank squad will not show mercy.
The correct way to invade is hide behind enemies and shoot arrows/spells to hinder his progress even more. Heal, run away and punish him for making the game easy mode. If he seeds, clump up the enemies and send them all his way.

I tend to always cast it at the start regardless of whether or not the opponent has a catalyst that I can see. The best use I've found for it is when people try and run away to heal. Not happening.
