the only way to slow down lao is constantly pummeling it with shit like critdraws from Mantis GS and lv.5 brave gunlance. Everytime you majorly stun him, he takes like 4 steps back - but in the end is quite retarded since you're essentially just making the fight longer since he can't be killed til the second zone and will take him longer to get to the Dragonator.

Overall, 3/10 fight. 6/10 gear.

A single Normal lv.5 Brave gunlance with tremor res and Dragon's Breath III can totally ruin the pacing of the fight, so it really doesn't take a lot of effort to insure slow nigger gets slower.

I was having the same issue as you trying to plan out a set for XX that would be good. In Gen atm I like this set:

Silverwind Cap
Chaos Archplate (Gem: 2x +1 Crit Up, 1x +1 Tenderizer)
Silverwind Braces
Silverwind Faulds
Silverwind Greaves
Dragon Talisman OOO (+5 Tenderizer & +2 Evade Dist) (Gem: 1x +4 Tenderizer)

which gives:
-Critical Eye +3
-Evasion +2
-Evade Distance
-Critical Boost
-Weakness Exploit

Which will be 100% affinity with EC. I don't believe mantis can beat this because evasion and EE fight each other. Obviously you will have problems in G rank if you get hit since the def isnt that good so I think your only option is to upgrade these pieces to their higher levels and if possible find a higher def 3 slot torso.

There may be a mixed set that could do something similar or even better depending on your weapon but I haven't checked through the japanese armor builders yet.

Brave with Quick Sheath is about twice as fast to sheathe than any other GS style which requires a roll or delay to sheath after swinging, wheras because it's Brave, every attack links into Brave sheathing. Brave Mode's draw charge with Focus also only takes about a second to pull off, which is faster than other charges. On top of that, it's the super charge so extra MV.

You can't draw into Charged hits. You sacrifice like 2 swings worth of Crit Draw if you have that skill.

Basic and Brave Tapped draw literally links into brave sheathing on like frame 3 after the sword hits the ground - it's incredibly fast, and from brave sheathing you can do charges. All it takes is one Lv.3 Charge and one Lv.2 Charge to get into Brave mode.

Depends on monster. It works fine on low level monsters like G rank garuga because killing it only takes 1 bar of brave. But on high HP monsters like Hypers or some higher Deviants it might be still inferior due to sheer time needed to activate few gauges of brave meter. Everything which takes more than 1 gauge of brave will presumably be better with Guild or Striker.

I joined a strange /mhg/ hub today. When I entered and said hello no one said anything back or acknowledged my joining. When I sent out my guild card no one sent theirs back. No one said or did anything until the hunt started then everyone was spamming meme shoutouts like crazy. And after some hunts they'd just be standing there for close to 10 minutes not saying or doing anything. Even when I asked what's going on they said nothing. It all ended after one of them double carted to Bloodlust Diablos then I fucked up and was the third cart. I was going to apologize but when we got back to the hub I got some error and disconnected. Then everytime I tried to join again it'd just say I'm unable to join the hub. Some strange shit I tell ya.

It's a true story. One of them was called Nora and the other zv or something like that. Then a Masterlink joined to make it a full hub. The hunts themselves were fine. Every monster was killed quickly and easily. It was just a strange and highly autistic place to be. I only joined because I was in a /mhg/ hub that was posted in vint yesterday and it was really fun. But after today's experience I'm a bit wary now of joining /mhg/ for hunts again.
