/indie/ - Indie and Obscure Games General

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

>What the fuck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, Machinarium, DashBored, Vampire of the Sands, Braid, Limbo, Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, The Desolate Hope, Burrito Galaxy, Gone Home, Stardew Valley, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads (since they have no other home in /vg/), however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

>How can I contribute?
All we need right now is people to talk about their loved indie and miscellaneous games, so don't be afraid to post, bump and reply your fellow anons. Also we're looking for anons to make new pastebins/wikis/images and update the ones already made. And please give lots of feel, love, kind and nice to everyone, except namefags. And be sure to make a new thread if nobody else does.

I stand by that kill pillars is too hard in comparison to the others

If I played and beat the original free version of OneShot back in the day, is it worth picking up the Steam version for the new content that just came out?

If you liked the original, I'd say to definitely give it a shot. The new content gives you quite a different perspective over the game's world.

Kill pillars and high priest are both 'ah fuck' bosses for me. If I can get to the former's last phase it's not so bad but it's such an intense boss. I almost want to say Dragun isn't even all that hard compared to most bosses unless it spams knives.

Fine. Epic Battle Fantasy series.
>>
>>172801737
I'm fine with hard bosses but it pisses me off a fair amount that there's such a difficulty disparity between bosses of the same zone.

All of the zone 1 bosses are about the same

I don't think ammoconda is hard, but I do think it's annoying. Beholster spawns adds but aside from that he's pretty easy. I think gorgun is the easiest of the zone 2 ones, but not by a whole lot.

Depending on your set up I think mine flayer is easier than treadnaught, but if you have a real good way to deal with adds then treadnaught might be easier. I've only ever faced balrog once and I died.

Meanwhile I've faced the kill pillars 3 times and never beaten them once, two times I had junkan. I beat high priest ok and wallmonger was a piece of cake.
>>
>>172795223
>>172801737
pillars die very quickly to piercing/aoe, and most of their attacks are flashy but fairly easy to dodge
they're more just a bitch if you burned your blanks early or aren't used to fighting them

priest is fucking cancer though, hard to predict, fast-moving, and constantly jumps off-screen

What kind of retarded ass backwards game devs save their best ideas for after the game gets super popular and makes a lot of money
>>
>>172829187
Because they can't actually implement the cool sounding things
>>
Holy shit, undead are total assholes in Battle Bros. I had like 17 zombies on my ass, and then they added even more zombies by zombifying my own guys! Plus, the game keeps giving me guys who are good at archer, but the undead are resistant to ranged attacks. Fuck these fags.
>>
>>172829250
That would normally make sense, but the game is already plenty complicated, the good stuff is just a different take on the assets they'd already have if they had the core gameplay down
I'm just really confused
>>
>>172829853
link pls
>>
>>172831416
Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you
kickstarter.com/projects/rocketjumptechnology/king-under-the-mountain
It's your average dorf forts clone, except the devs are holding /v/'s wet dream hostage behind a money barrier that will never be reached
>>
>>172832546
These are pretty substantial:
* Play as a [single character]
* Community API
* Observer mode (if actually good / doesn't just cheat resources)

But yeah I can see how the other shit is shit that should be in the base game.

Even that seems to be a common pattern on kickstarter, though. Makes sense to do when you're pretty confident you'll get funded but want to egg people on with neat sounding shit (that you were going to put in anyhow)
>>
>>172832943
A single character seems incredibly simple compared to entire civilizations with complex interpersonal interactions
And I think the devs feel that way too, considering they have plans for three of them
>>
>>172832546
I'm not really sold on backing it
Their prototype is shit and they know it
>>
>>172834428
Yeah
It seems like every kickstarter campaign that decides to release an actual demo of the game instead of doing marketing like everyone else is doomed to fail
>>
>>172833484
The problem is that it requires attention to different details. If you just slap a dude in a dungeon with the items/monsters from the civilization mode, the pacing/challenge/level design/etc will just be plain crapola. Everything has to be a lot more tight when you're only controlling one guy.

If you get single-player mode down for one character though, adding more will be absolutely trivial.
>>
>>172791840
If you include updates now then Iji got a recent and notable update.
>>
>>172834897
Gotta sell people on dreams. Prototypes are bound to be kinda crappy, and it provides a very tangible object for "this isn't what my imagination cooked up"

>>
>>172835289
Star Citizen didn't release anything for initial funding as far as I'm aware
They've been releasing piecemeal alphas of the game for years but the only thing that was available for a long ass time was nothing more than a digital garage where you could look at all the non-functional ship jpegs you paid for in 3D form

>>
>>172834897
They could probably get more funds if they'd market it better, but I still wouldn't back it.

The problem is that their demo is actually garbage. It's a non-game showing off characters chopping down wood/mining and hauling it to designated areas, something their team could've cobbled together in a week or so. It's just simple state machines + pathfinding. Funny thing is that they claim to have worked on it for year (two years, judging by their youtube channel). I have a lot of doubts that they will be able to catch up with their gargantuan ambitions.

The art is fugly too, despite the fact that their artist seems to be very skilled.

So what's the point of backing the project? To see how they struggle for another five years to bring it up to the level of Dwarf Fortress in 2006?

The first one is actually a different mod but the second and third are what I found after two runs in a mod
It's got cool stuff but so much bad so quickly so far. Not sure if I'll go back to it for a while.
Spoiled Milk - All stats way down
That is all it does
I went from 7 or 10 fire rate to 50
damage was about 6 now at ~2
The pill puts a timer under you of a minute. I thought it was just a time release bad trip but it killed me and I still had hearts left on the ui.
It has neat things like "Speed limit up" pill and I assume other stat limit pills, nice new backgrounds, etc, new bosses though I haven't seen them yet, and some neat new enemies so far but I really don't have that much confidence in it after that much of a rapidfire of bullshit.
Spoiled milk has a chance to ruin your run for no reason, while cyanide has a chance to LITERALLY end your run.
I'll play more of it to see what else is good or bad.

Of note, there seems to be "negative" heart containers, in that if you use spice while you have 1 heart container, you have to get enough heart containers to cancel out the ones you would have used.

>>
>>172949485

The other 3. Pasts are really easy, surprisingly.

Also casey is a lot less good than I thought it was, but it's still decently fun, because melee weapons are never not fun in games like this.

>>172949485
Meh.. Gungeon just doesn't really interest me, and it is too much like Isaac anyway.

Pick exactly one. I don't fucking care how much damage it does. I'll clear faster and less riskily with a Klobbe than your trashbat and if you check the numbers to see if that's true you're a faggot that's missing my point.

Casey is easy to use. It's also too slow for me to give any kind of a fuck about. The only melee I like LESS in this game than Casey is the Huntsman's reload. Casey is shit.

>>172958805
Missed that bit. And I'm glad to see you say that, because you're absolutely right. Pasts are supposed to be easy. Mind you, Hunter's is definitely one of the easier ones, but most of them shouldn't take you more than a try or two.

Irrelevant to be honest.
Casey is amazing because it promotes both good and bad play.
>See a pack of enemies
>Hit one and it ricochets off 2 or even 3 of them, essentially instantly clearing the bulk of/whole room
>Can get hits in on enemies that attack in waves, like Cubulons and Gun Nuts with ease
>Reload isn't even that long
It's only shit for bossing.
>>

Definitely don't sound like that guy because Hollow Knight looked inspired as fuck. Still planning on playing it. Nah I know what you mean though.

Yeah, upper left one, then up through a bright purple glowing tunnel and there's a Karma Gate. Get the minimum Karma to pass through to enter Industrial. From here, there are three paths. The upper one leads to Chimney. You don't wanna go there yet. You want one of the two on the right side, leading to either the Shaded Citadel or Garbage Wastes. You'll visit both eventually.
>>

>>173016093
Oh, so I just have to eat and sleep to progress sometimes?

>>
>>173016457
Yeah. Sleeping in a box gives you 1 Karma rank. Death takes away 1. There are hard mins and maxs at flipped2 and Survivor respectively.
Those Golden Flowers protect you from losing Karma from death once. A new one always blooms from the spot where you got the game over screen, irrelevant of where the thing that killed you takes you.
Also, game over is not always the end.
Watch your eyes after getting nabbed by a mob. If they're squinted, you're still alive and if something goes awry, you can escape and keep going. If they turn to Xs or get stuffed in a hole, you're dead.
>>
>>172961706
It's really hard to feel like you've found something worth sticking with. Especially if you've released something in the past. Probably even more so if that was successful and you get this pressure to make a new hit.

One thing I dislike about ESA is how the game closes some routes after you do some shit, this is becoming a pet peeve of mine, metroidvanias suddenly blocking routes. Hollow Knight pissed me off with a bit of this too

Actual Lost is probably the 2nd best Lost-analogue there is.

#1 is Melting, of course.

Worst goes to Aria, or Coda if you want to count him.

That Battle Bros game needs to have more autosaves in it. Right now it only autosaves right before you go to a battle.

Well I was at a really hard battle, and it took me five tries but I managed to beat it while losing like three guys, but when I went to the map, the stupid game crashed and I really don't want to do that battle yet again.

Expedition Conquistador had it so it saved after every day that passes, Battle Bros should do the same thing imo.

Knytt Underground, Affordable Space Adventures, and most recently Uurnog.

Understandable if you haven't heard of them. Nifflas seems to always release games in the least commercially rewarding way possible at the time.

>how lazy
AB+ is $10. Almost the price of the base game.
And actively makes the game worse. It's just the first things they thought of when throwing it together.
The entire selling point of this was to put the game into the hands of the community. They said precisely that. And instead,
>Pile of garbage nobody wanted
>Mod tools that are outright worse than what the community had already made
>And them holding the game's finalized version hostage with 'booster packs' for a whole year
>And the Booster Packs are fucking awful
>Release 2 full months after their respective month
>Contain next to nothing because they're too fucking lazy to actually just go above and beyond and put in some good shit, only some items, trinkets, and Quality of Life changes, MAYBE a single challenge
>>
>>173069383

I think the last I heard of him was Knytt Ug, and even then, that`s pretty hazy

Maybe I`ll check out his newer stuff sometime. he seemed pretty cool at the time. It`ll be nice to see how his new stuff measures up.

The January Booster Pack dropped like a week and a half ago.
Cause they spent half of February picking out the Mods they'd add.
Then they spent the rest of February and a good bit of March implementing and "testing" the new stuff.

I'm still in the pre-season and I've been manually playing out every game calling plays from the dugout. Holy shit though this might be the best pitching roster I've ever drafted, like ever. they should never have labeled the booster packs by month. it's confusing and fucking retarded to have your monthly January dlc be dropped in March, February dlc being dropped in April, March dlc being dropped in May, etc. should have just named them Booster Pack #1, Booster Pack #2, so on and so forth.

I guess you're still technically getting your monthly dlc, but way behind schedule

It's not the fact that there was a secret that people found tedious, it was the drawn-out way you had to do it. Even with complete knowledge of the process, it was too long and precise.
As for what we continue to make fun of Ed for, it's not just the putting his own game on a pedestal, it's the fact that he thinks it's good enough to be put on a pedestal in the first place.
It's that kind of behaviour that lead to the split with Danny Baranowsky and losing the superior soundtrack.

It's called fucking 'vagina crisis'. What do you think it's going to end up like?
Literally no-one who actually needs educating on the subject is going to play something with that name.
>>
>>173087051
>Vagina Crisis: A Period Piece is a health education game about a 13 year old girl who gets her first period. It’s an adventure game where the player is presented with solutions to a problem. None of the options will have a correct choice because life has no perfect solutions. Cutscenes will depict the girl’s reactions to the situations she’s put in. There will also be facts on how a period affects women’s everyday lives. The girl’s appearance will be customizable and a meter will monitor different emotions. When an emotion gets too high the girl will react. Both the story and facts will be different for every decision, making the game perfect for multiple playthroughs.

>Every gender should feel comfortable playing the game as it will be a great learning tool for students as well as adults.

Dont be so quick to judge anon
>>
>>173086901
I know it's just a concept, I'm saying that it's silly to equate some indie jam game to something more popular and pushed getting that kind of attention and bullshit

>>
>>173087380
I dont see why you cant equate it. It's not an indie game jam, its leading to a professional prototype made by DoubleFine employees which, if its the same as the first fortnight, they will take to major publishers to try to get funds for development.

That might as well be a part of their pitch to publishers, that they will get praised regardless of quality and negative reviews will be dismissed as misogynerds.
>>
>>173087832
I guess it's more just the difference in visibility. Did anyone really care about the last fortnight's stuff?
>>
>>173088209
Sure. Remove the visibility and user voting and it's what companies like Double Fine normally do internally like the several private amnesia fortnights.
I didnt even know there was a fortnight in 2014 until now, I thought they stopped after the SpaceBase debacle. A quick search shows to no surprise that the prototypes never went anywhere.

I'm trying to write up a review of the game as I go. First off, the game doesn't tutorialize anything, and there aren't many controls to the game. The game plops you down into the first world and its your duty to learn the mechanics by "struggling" to do the dozen puzzles available to you. Each puzzle "tricks" you into learning a quirk of the gameplay systems. Each new world focuses on a new gameplay element and all of its tricks.
A thing that I really like that no other reviewer touches on is how deliberate the level design is. If a level has a large open space, you will have to use that space somehow to complete the puzzle. You can get hints on how to beat the puzzle just by looking at the level and noticing any little bit of strangeness.

Without going into the specifics and details of the you-know-what controversy, do you think YL would be looked at more or less favorably if it hadn't happened?

Like I've just heard it's mediocre and just does all the old systems and stuff without any of the charm, so I wonder how that would've been examined differently without something else possibly coloring it for people.

Probably not much, since most people will just look at it as 'oh boy, another Kickstarter that didn't deliver to hype, what a surprise'.
That said, not having ...a certain voice actor... does mean there's less chance of it appealing to people anyway.

I'm just curious because when this sort of things happens, there's at least some percentage of people out there who rate the thing itself based on their opinions of the controversy rather than the game itself. It's a great/shit game because they did this other thing, that sort of thing.

I guess maybe since it happened so close to launch and over something pretty inconsequential overall, it wouldn't have that much of an impact after all. Certainly not the slow burn of building bullshit MN9 had.

It more gave people an idea of how the devs were treating the project (i.e. as well as they'd treat something they were willing to make such a big change to at the last second), and made people who'd wanted the game nervous.
Personally I don't blame them for dropping him, but following that with refund controversies kind of indicates it was more about their political views than about PR (since it shows they don't seem to be very self-aware in that department).

>>173129958
No, this is the first normal conversation I've been able to have about this damn game.
>>
>>173129630
It's not out for non-backers and the negativity is coming from professional reviewers

The biggest complaint is (besides that 3D Collectathons are dated and shouldnt exist) the lack of content. Empty worlds, casino world is too dense, not enough platforming, lack of enemy variety, and the multiplayer modes are barren and feel like they were tacked on to meet stretch goals instead of being well thought out
Complaints from people that really like the genre say that Yooka Laylee level design is to derivative and that the devs didnt understand Banjo well enough to deconstruct it and make something new that was a proper successor to Rare platformers. Makes me think of how Nintendo scrapped the Super Mario World prototype for being a rehash and found a way to make something new yet familiar.

You know, the previous patch added the new "view" cursor that looks like an eye. And we were told there will be others.

But on second thought, the new feature is probably that fast travel system. If it was expansion-only, what would be the point of putting those signs in the base game for anyone to see?

An anguished neet was sitting alone in front of his computer, right? He wasn't certain of what else to try, and he'd forgotten both how long it has been and the point of it all. He'd sit there for a moment to contemplate sudoku, and suddenly looked up to see a pale and hairless man before him. He watched the neet impassively with his one good eye, and spoke: 'Now your third question. What will it be?'
'Third question?' The neet was baffled. 'How can it be a third question if I haven't had a first and second question?'
'Timelapse Vertigo' the Faceless said, 'Your language prevents me from conveying the meaning properly.' He was silent for a moment. 'So it is that you have one question left.'
'All right,' said the neet, 'I don't believe this, but there's no harm in asking. I wish to know how to find the two-headed mutant.'
'Perhaps I will have the answer ready for some other event.' said the Faceless and logged out, his job done. 'All will be revealed in time.'

Get the expensive ones later when you have a ton of cash. Some start with ca 70 melee skill which you then get to level even more. Early on it's not worth the risk of them croaking unless you have suitable armor.

From what I hear they made a pretty faithful throwback to N64-era 3D platformers. The problem ? Maybe those games aren't so good in hindsight. Maybe Banjo Kazooie isn't an excellent game in hindsight.

I'll likely get it because I can enjoy a game like that. I know it's not great game design but I like the collectathonness.
>>
>>173150894
I've heard nothing of its actual gameplay, just ECHman shitposting and that some site gave it a 6/10.

I find it hard that they can fuck up what I've seen, but it's possible.

>>
>>173150894
Well yeah, those games are pretty bad and were not that good back then. I was an n64 kid and I still don't understand how anyone could ever glorify those games so hard.
I am just glad rare got thrown away before they could ruin more DK games. DK64 is bad enough but could have been the start of a new series.

Play Grow Home.
>>
>>173154392
DK64 is amazing, and while I never played through all of banjo it seemed pretty good too.

Banjo Tooie was an excellent game that still holds up to today's standards.
I never saw these games as games where you collect a ton of shit for the sake of collecting a ton of shit. What appealed to me is the free exploration of stage. The games seemed like the next step after Super Mario 64.
The same goes for Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark, especially on higher difficulty. The things that defined those games was that you had to explore and interact with the environment to complete seemingly meaningful objectives as opposed to just shooting everything while going from A to B. If you dont understand this and take "collecathon" at face value then youre going to execute the core design principles wrong by making a standard linear level and sprinkling throughout 20 file folders to collect and 5 switches to flip.
This is where Playtonic could go wrong. I enjoyed the toybox for it's mechanics but nothing assured me that they saw the same things I did in those games.
>>

>>

They were fun as hell but I'm not going to put them on a pedestal like most people do.
>>
>>173154985
DK64 is almost golden. The complaint that you have to needlessly switch characters to collect bananas is a non issue since you dont need every standard banana in the game and unless you're using a guide you'll be revisitiing areas with different characters regardless. Character specific switches is a legitimate way to encourage returning to an area later just like with Metroidvania's.
The only major flaw are the crappy minigames that are basically just filler, but If Wind Waker can still be cosnidered a good game with half of it being Triforce Piece filler, why is DK64 bad?

Molotov is the only not shit part of her loadout.

Crossbow's a good starting gun, and dog is frequently useful.

Pilot gets a sort of ok gun but he gets lockpicks, storage, and charming personality

Marine gets an ok gun and accuracy.

Convict gets a shit gun, a comically bad passive, and a sort of ok active, but that's just because a lot of the actives are bad and you're unlikely to find them, too.

While not a necessary change (though I do think there are some necessary changes) I think something that would really improve the game is mark (or at least maybe hint somehow) which chest is item and which chest is gun.

I'm tired of playing russian roulette with green chests only to get a mediocre gun isntead of a passive. Most D-tier passives are better than C-tier guns.

Two necessary changes (I think) are remove guns from the item poll in blessed rooms (this confuses me as to why this isn't already a thing since they're removed from shop pools) and make it so that all heart-container granting items give robot an armor.

I love Brigador. Here's my outlook on the game:

+ Art style and graphics are unique and look really good in motion.
+ OST is fantastic.
+ The action is satisfying because weapons are powerful and everything is destructible. It's more complicated than a twin-stick shooter, though not hugely so. This also can be a negative if you expect a twin-stick shooter - the controls are more complicated, gives you more flexibility but also needs some adjusting.
+ The variety of weapons and vehicles is fantastic and they support a lot of different playstyles - stealthy, loud, long range, short range, hit-and-run.
- There's very little story, there's a lot of lore in weapon descriptions and you can specifically purchase lore but don't expect a story-driven experience.
- There's no mission variety in Freelance, you get a generic set of objectives (kill soldiers, kill captains, destroy orbital guns) for every map and you can fulfill any of them to unlock the next map (and all of them for the best reward).

All in all, I love it, it's my 2016 GOTY. If you want to stomp around in a big fat mech, chance are you'll like it too.

Will the sausages get cooked in the end? What if they're undercooked or overcooked? What if Stephen forgets to prick the skins and the sausages EXPLODE?

Ehh, Yooka Laylee got like 73% on metacritic

It's only considered negative because websites like IGN give 10/10 to every second game, which means only that scores actually mean jack shit

I think people who has a lot of nostalgia for n64 collectathons are going to play Yooka-Laylee through rose-tinted glasses and enjoy it, while others who are new to the game are going to drop it.

Seems like almost all the reviews pretty much got to the same conclusion.
>>
>>173231147
That genre died for a reason. It is just too heavily flawed to be enjoyable by many people.
>>
>>173231147
7/10 rating is basically a "meh" for modern review sites. I'm sure it'll be perfectly playable but I doubt it'll be memorable long-term. I'm expecting a a fun budget platformer like Scaler was on PS2/GC
>>
>>173231147
Is there some difference between collectathons and platformers? The latter was my favorite genre as a kid, although I could never get into the 3D ones. Klonoa was cool, but fucking hated Rayman 2 for example.

But I'm mildly curious about YL.
>>
>>173232367
Collectathons are to plattformers what mobage is to rpgs.
>>
>>173232674
Well that doesn't sound very encouraging.
>>
>>173232367
YL is mostly just backed up by Banjo Kazooper nostalgia. That's their entire life support.

Regardless, that's deeply insulting.
>>
>>173232367
Rayman 2 is vastly overrated. Rayman 1 is near-perfect though. Getting 100% on the PS1 version without using a continue was one of my proudest moments.
>>
>>173234280
Pretty sure that happened to me too.
>>
>>173236195
Most mobages I know are rpg grind offsprings.
But yeah the point is that collectathons ake one part of plattformers and make it way too big which offsets the balance. It works in some cases but mostly it leads to tedious collecting of too much shit and needing guides to get even close to 100%.

I've heard too much about it from a podcast I listen to. There's some guy who's obsessed with puzzles and even he's had issues with it.
>>
>>173238572
Very atmospheric point&click adventure with fully voided dialogue and medium difficult puzzles. It's the favourite for the new age of a lot of people.
>>
>>173231147
The effects of nostalgia are really overestimated. If anything people that grew up on these games will be more critical. For Stardew Valley long time HM/RF fans were the most critical. Same happened for nu-Doom, 'real' Doom fans whether they thought it was a good game or not gave better criticism than secondaries who only played 20 minutes of Brutal Doom.

As flawed as the old games were they were AAA titles that had a high level of polish, and they didn't sell like hotcakes by pure luck. The genre dying in no way means there is something inherently wrong with the genre, unless we should scrap adventure games and space sims. 3D platformers by nature are incredibly accessible

Creator of the game in this webm >>173119668 and Stephen's Sausage Roll
About a decade ago he raped, sexually molested, and murdered high-school track coach Cynthia Quinn (stabbed seventy-three times with a screwdriver) during her Sunday morning jog. He was sentenced to death but appealed and got life instead. He has since produced many outsider games and collaborated in development VVVVVVV

Rayman 1 is still one of my all-time favorite games. I have 3 copies of it because I had to have the extra levels that came with some of the later editions. And I played every fan level I could get my hands on back then. Even played Rayman Junior and English with Rayman.

If someone took the time to improve the hitboxes a little, it would be pretty much perfect. Fucking awesome style, really good level design that's both challenging and never really gets repetitive, amazing soundtrack, it's pretty much everything one can want from a platformer.

Rayman 2 was like a kick in the guts. Shit camera, wonky controls, levels that felt huge and empty, and it even looked like shit. I genuinely thought then that 3D would be the death of vidya.

I've never played the banner saga desu, but from what I've seen the banner saga is a story driven linear sort of game. Battle brothers is basically a more shallow mountain blade with turn based combat(80% chance to hit misses 4 times) in a low fantasy setting. Basic undead, ghouls, and an ancient undead civilization in the form of roman esque skeletons. Also orcs/goblins. You start off as a small band of peasants that want to make it big as a mercenary company. The top negative review on steam is actually mostly accurate of how it plays but I really enjoy the game. Though that reviewer never made it to the real late game it seems. Every generated world has like 3/4 major noble houses with cities and villages covering half the map while the other half of the map is unexplored wild lands. I think there's a demo on their website but it's an old version. Honestly I'd pirate it and try it for a full campaign since they bumped the price to 30 upon release. I did that and ended up buying the supporter edition after 20 hours.
>>
>>173270085
The entire game is scary. I play in bursts of like 5 minutes cause I just quit out before I die. And the tension kills me. Everything is horrifying. Even when you do manage to pin a lizard to the wall or floor it just fidgets int he most errie way just flickering.

Anyway, any of you like Tooth n Tail.?
>>
>>173271191
Sounds pretty fun. Gonna keep an eye on it.
And yeah Banner Saga is linear in the storyline but has a lot of choices that changes fates of your party.
