There is one (1) Ringed Knight for some reason, and an invasion.
Shouldn't have shown us the skyline with Anor Londo right before dumping us into the sparsest area in all of the Soulsborne games.

how are invasions in the new dlc? do the areas offer a lot of variety? is it easy for the host to run to boss fog walls? does the spear of the church fuck with the red orb invading?

I was trying out a new fashion set that consists of a lot of heavy armor and decided to try out +3 Steel Protection instead of Prisoner's chain.

Gael was fucking tickling me when I was being summoned for him, and earlier today he hit me for like 60% of my HP when I was using lighter armor and the chain.

What gives?

So, I just found out that Ledo and Moaning Knight can invade you while you're unembered. You also can't ember while they're still alive. I don't know if that's common knowledge or not.

What is the point of this piece of shit? I was so excited to see dark magic users get something besides the power pole for a staff which has A/C scaling. The Murky Longstaff has A/E in scaling. Both staves' skills buff by about the same amount but Izalith STILL beats it out. What purpose did it have, am I missing something? At least we got a real dark orb though..at this point I just want them to patch the Dark Hand to be a catalyst for all dark magic and have viable stats. That's all I ask.

After AoA i didn't expect much. TRC is just more of the same.
I expected closure to the series, and we didn't really get that. I'm thankful it wasn't filled to the brim with nostalgia bating like the main game and I like the new weapons. But that's about it. I'm happy that it's done so I can recover from souls fatigue while we wait for From to make a new game similar to BB or Dark Souls 1.

Something I always do in Souls is try to make my character look "faceless" like all the enemies do that makes them look like empty, possessed suits of armor.

Having a big fucking hole in the chest helps with that look.

This was something I noticed: Gael was basically three bosses with their health bars glued end-on-end. Doesn't matter that the first phase shares bar real estate with the other (admittedly more similar) forms, it's the same thing as if you just had Friede transition immediately into Blackflame as soon as you got her health to a certain point.

Honestly, can't say much about gameplay since DS1 was fun, DS2 was fun (For me anyways), DS3 is okay. But one thing both DeS and BB have over Souls in general is atmosphere. There is just some darkness, loneliness in them that I just adore, which is something I can't find in Dark Souls. Maybe it's because even though world is ending, fire is fading there are few green areas, unlike Demon's / BB where everything is just grim.

Seriously though, what'd be better, Carthus Rouge heavy straight sword or Blood Infused straight sword to make wolves bleed.

If you want to use a raw straightsword use the astora straightsword, it's pre-vordt. Gets good damage from raw. Don't twohand straightswords, especially not raw ones since raw means no strength scaling, which means the twohanded strength bonus doesn't matter.

Surprisingly there was a lot of solo hosts at sl120, I only ran into about half a dozen gank squads. The little spell they give you is actually great when 4 players try to rush you since it grants Perseverance and the initial ring of spears can rack up damage quickly.

Spear > LGK > OM

Spear is much more enjoyable than the other two. You have painting guardians to co-op with, light ball spawns you can utilize and the spear item. More importantly your health scales with the number of phantoms you are fighting and you get hyper armor if its more than just the host.

You can tell they actually gave a fuck this time around.

I'm surprised, and always have been, that anyone ever, at any point, expected any DLCs to do anything relevant to the overarching, main things behind the franchise.
The only one that even came close to doing something like that was Artorias, and it wasn't huge on answering a ton of questions. There were 4 DLCs before this one, and none of them related.
Why did people think it would?

I mean jesus fucking christ compare him to soul of cinder or nameless king, they didn't take anywhere near this number of hits. I literally wasted a 99 stack of +10 arbalest heavy bolts and a bunch of sniper bolts trying to cheese him and was able to get him to maybe 1/3rd health before getting nuked by his gay beam of justice.

It's just fucking dumb, dude. I'm saying I can dodge his attacks and shit just fine but it takes SO. FUCKING. LONG. because of the gigantic number of hits required.

Basically gonna go to bed and do it tomorrow, I need a rest after that shit. It's just a dumb super endurance trial, like hey let's take the amount of dodging you need to be able to pull off in 1 boss fight and triple it. Like if he just had say half the fucking health it'd be fun because his moves are still gonna 2 shot you even at meta level and he does a lot of cool/powerful stuff, he doesn't need to have a billion life.
