Honestly, I feel like the areas are harder than the bosses, and I had to keep myself from leveling (the bosses were pretty damn fun regardless). The bosses would be harder if the DLC didn't drop those +3 rings on you, they're way too good for NG.

Midir would be the best Dragon boss in the entire series if his damage reduction was lowered slightly.

Hitting him for 150 damage per hit on his body and 250 on his head isn't actually :fun:. Also I noticed that pestilent mercury fucks him up pretty badly.

also, that is the worst start to a souls dlc I have ever seen. This is the worst experience ever trying to figure out a way to dodge this artificial piece of fucking trash. Okay, someone help me find what I'm fucking up here.

I got into the Ringed City, BTFO the giant with his Ruin Sentinel archers, navigated the cliff face with those faggy-ass Pygmies and lit the bonfire with Lapp standing at the nearby balcony. Thing is, after that I've gotten completely lost.

I've navigated down to the bottom of the stairs to the entrance to the swamp, killing all the Haralds, pygmies and Ringed K***hts along the way, also exploring the side paths like talking to Shira, killing Alva and getting Zullie's slutwear, meeting the feasting guy a second time and also BTFOing Ledo, finding Havel's +3 and meeting Lapp sitting at that chair near the bottom. But I haven't found any more bonfires, or shortcuts back to the upper bonfire, and I see an area that I haven't been to near the top.

What am I missing here? They don't seriously expect me to go into the swamp in one shot, do they? It was a pretty long road down, and those fucking turtles keep pissing me off.

Its a symbol of power over the dark, and the ability to control and wield it. Thats why its all over the Ringed City. The dark is their bitch. Its in their blood, quite literally. The symbol represents their power and control of the dark, and the ability to draw it out. Pilgrims somehow saw this, and when Londor became a thing, adopted the icon and sword so they could aspire to be like primieval man.
Thats my headcanon on it anyways. It has nothing to do with the Lord of Hollows. If anything, you are seeing where the sword of Avowal actually came from.

Im playing on my NG+2 character and my lightning buffed greatsword hits do 380 out of a ~50k health pool

I understand that this is a git gud moment but I beat the demon princes, the dragon, and argo on my first attempt blind while im ~20 attempts deep on gael and simply cant survive long enough during the 2nd phase to burn through 35k health

Yeah, he has some really great interactions with this guy called Lapp. You find him by going back to where the Lothric knights were with the butterflies, there should be a hole in the wall and a tower functioning as a bridge to a new area. Patches has shown his softer side with Greirat, and it's nice to see him show some more of it with Lapp. Go do his quest, you should find him across the fallen tower bridge through the church with the Lothric knights, then by the second bonfire, then on the balcony in the Ringed City, then elsewhere. Just to get you started.

Finally beat Midir after an embarrassing amount of attempts. The key is to stay just in front of his head, attacking his legs means the camera won't show shit and doesn't do enough damage anyway. Staying at range is suicide. Ideally he will give you several 1/2 claw swipes as after those there's a ton of time where you can just whale on him. Sometimes he will just meme you by flying around breathing fire and there's not much you can do. Good luck m8s.

If you don't assume that, then you just kind of have to wonder what the Primordial Serpent's role was before the founding of Anor Londo/Ringed City. They seem to have helped the demise of the Dragons, and, if so, were most likely in contact with Gwyn at the time.

If that is the case, they may very well be behind Gwyn's distrust of the humans (probably told him about the Dark Soul and how dangerous humans were), since otherwise I literally can't see a reason (atm) for Gwyn to distrust the pygmies who helped him in his war.

But then we have the other side, where they also seemed to have helped the pygmies themselves against Gwyn.

This is why this DLC needed primordial serpents exposition. I can't take these questions to my grave.

The Ringed City is a place where time is convoluted, but things of every age wind up there. Patches ashes read that he continued on, ever forward. He likely lasted through many ages, going Hollow over time, until he went to the Ringed City. Keep in mind that Patches is undead, so he'll just come back. Most anyone you kill will just come back eventually. Most. There are some exceptions I would imagine.

I'm really happy with the bonfire placement in this DLC so far. There aren't too many like in the base game.

You need to have both Morne's Ring and the Ring of the Sun's Firstborn equipped to get your offensive miracles to full power. I'm sure 150 is quite enough for a PvE strength/build character [my Faith character at 60 faith was sitting comfortably at 80] but I couldn't speak with any authority about PvP efficiency. I only took my pure faith one for a few rounds on the arena, and while there were good results the arena is not really the place you go to find people who are gud.
