As i had said above, ducats are easily farmed with randoms cause random relics and 4x drop chance of any rare, if with pubs, not x1, liek in old void. Even accounting higher void to intact chance, cause many people take radiants with them in pubs.

New system gives you same grind time, but spreads it more comfy, so of you suddently disconnected/need to go/got unconscious/died, you'll only lose 1-2 loot drops instead of whole run. Not even talking about you don't need to be on place for this run without any possibility to leave. And, oh yes, randoms, which you don't need to search, if you just want to open your single radiant for some reason.
Only old players, who had their premade stacks for intence farming, are offended a bit. Every other player get much more from new system (possibility to split your farming time while being independent from randoms while getting benefits form this randoms in the first place).

Assimilate Augment was adjusted to take friendly fire like base skill does, increasing energy drain and really limiting it as a fun/DEAC tank.
No one used the old skill before the augment really. It was alright for popping crates and that's about it.

Which still are unmastered by tons of players, which leads to Loki being downed by random splashes almost every time you might see one. Let's remember that random anon story about month or 2 ago, when some anon get to lua rescue sortie with pubs, where was two more loki's and Inaros. And all 3 loki's were downed by accidential random splash from bombard shooting at inaros. As much as i remember, all 3 were taken down by a single one.

It was probably just fixed on a list of small, doable bugs/inconsistencies. The augment was probably never intended to deviate this far from base skill.
they might have disabled friendly fire because sleek coding and they couldn't get the augment to let you shoot guns without popping your own bubble.

it wasn't just faster and less grindy because of the mechanics, but also because we had ways to grind faster
enemy level scaling didn't matter and it took less than 2 minutes to do 5 waves of defense regardless of level
you can't do any of the fissures that fast because you have to slow down and pickup reactant
even if you immediately left at the first opportunity it'd be less grind than the new system
while new players obviously couldn't do T3 or T4 Void keys without being carried, with the relic system new players cannot do them at all, because they have to grind out their own relic at the corresponding tier then progress far enough through the solar map to reach that fissure
then there's the fact that fissures are like alerts and you can't always choose the most efficient one for grinding

That's the idea. As long as you're lowmr with no experience, you kinda don't need to go into all that, you need to see, what game is in base. (And it's shooter/slasher with acrobatics, if you forgot.) When you get to prime farming, you're aready pretty experienced and can do it on your own, while not just being a leech without gameplay. Game finally makes new players to play and not to whine to some highmr mates to "fastly get them all they want". So when new players arrive at point, they get comfy system with no so high entry level. When they aren't ready, they don't have the access and should do something to get that access.

On a new player account I got Saryn P and more plat starting out than on my main by that amount of playtime, only getting helped by my prior knowledge compared to getting carried through void keys using my unpotatoed drakgoon.
