Grohk is sped up during his ult not slowed down.
It also already speeds up and slows down teammates and enemies respectively as well as healing and dealing damage increasing/decreasing damage dealt/taken on top of the buff/debuff it already gives is unnecessary.

The main problem is that as soon as the enemy team hears "SURGING" they immediately pile on him and he dies. The easy way to fix it is to just make his ult heal Grohk too so it doesn't become a suicide button.

Mistake on my part too. I recalled chasing after a skye with it quite easily and forgot that has a slow effect.

I looked over the numbers again and though I knew the damage was bad, I didn't realise it was that bad. The healing is borderline, 500 per second, around the same as healing a Fernando with his totem at healing rain IV (though a mere 1/5th of the healing per second that Grover puts out during his and over a shorter duration).

Not as much as him. The others have self healing (Grover, Makoa), reasonable range (Viktor, Ruckus, Androxus), a shield to protect you (Barik)or plenty of speed leading up to a spike in damage (Bomb King, Drogoz) in order to help you avoid getting killed mid ult. Grohk has none of these things. He has to be in the enemies face for the entire ult to get much use out of it and has no way of keeping himself alive during that time.

What about this then: Similar to Buck he can still use his normal attacks and abilities during the ult. The damage/heal aura (signified by a raincloud over his head or something) is just a bonus on top of his normal capabilities and is free to ghost walk, zap and drop totems to his hearts content. Maybe keep the CC immunity too. That way it give a boost to both his damage and healing during the ult without putting him in much more danger than he is normally.

In that case, sniper tree is the name of the game.

The further you are from your target, the more damage you do. Don't worry about aiming, the axe has a hitbox larger than most freight vehicles.
Use your spidertree agility to get to high up sniper positions and then use it to zoom back to the objective once it's clear.
His RMB is great for frustrating flankers who won't be able to use their move skills for a few seconds after being hit. If your team isn't retarded, it should be more than enough time to kill an evie.
