While DH/Kaiserreich will both certainly have more events, I'll do my best to put narrative into HoI3 if it's selected. I'll probably read up on Chiang and the nationalist government at the time and then take advantage of the OOB to make posts emphasizing the front line and the actions of individual generals, so it'll read more like a war history than my traditional focus on individuals.

I may or may not also use a vanilla+ mod in HoI3's case. A friend recommended one to me which supposedly gives China some pretty good flavor.

Supposedly it's meant to make the AI take more rational research and production decisions and thereby increase the difficulty, but I've never played with it before so I don't know. If anyone has used the mod I'd welcome feedback.

Aside from that, though, probably not. My provisional goal as Nat. China will be to not just stave of the Japanese and win the civil war, but to turn around and invade the Japanese mainland before the Americans can arrive. I think it's going to be pretty hard for me to pull that off, so there should be a nice challenge in it.

Where did I imply it had to do with being Germanic? Italians have also assimilated into American culture, to the point where certain cuisines are seen as iconic to the American diet (i.e. spaghetti, pizza).
