>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

old thread: >>129483392
>why didn't women give me this much attention before i was a zombie
First for avenging all my melee Arisens
Obligatory "post your arisen and pawn" post
reposting from last thread:
Is there a mod that makes xp gainz faster?
Played several times on console, and playing this version I min/maxed an Assassin for fun, but now I want to go Magic Archer, and instead of fucking with editing stats, I just want to make a new character and level up ungodly fast for a while.
New thread, new request for help.
I'm a sorcerer with a sorcerer pawn. How fucked am I?
Yes, it's called Hard Mode. I went from 100 to 170 in a day.
I'm considering switching gender. Would you hire me, /ddg/?
I did it niggas, I beat Ur Daimon with 2 Warriors, A Ranger and a Mage. I chugged the few stam items I had and punched him out of his vortex shit with barely any time to spare
>tfw slaying bunnies and oxen to get DP faster
I'm sorry ;__;
Also hiring pawns if you want RC and gifts, level and vocation is irrelevant.
Hired, and we are going spelunking. Expect her to come back a few times tonight. On console, we could hire and return a pawn from the rift with items a few times without getting flagged for a temp rocking, but it seems it was shored up on console. So, we'll do some killing, then I'll send her back with a cursed weapon, rehire and kill some more.
Your pawn is almost 100 levels below me, so I'm not sure what RC you'll be gaining, but it should be a decent amount.
>running down the very narrow corridors of what looks to be a bell tower
>main pawn says "enemies may lurk around every corner"
>eliminator comes out of literally nowhere and almost one shots me
why am i doing no damage to this thing. jesus christ.
Whoever wanted to add me last thread I'm getting on now, and if any new people want to join DDO feel free to add me.
Anyone willing to hire my pawn? Lvl 69 strider util/scather, I'd be willing to hire yours in turn, I have a spot open in my party and I'm currently going through BBI. My only RC is from BBI outside of 3k from the one time he was hired. He's on the left
>Great Gamble it at full stamina to the face
>It loses on bar of health and gets knocked back
Everything is fine
>The part where you fight 3+ of them
It's all fine.
Lets see them pawns and arisen
I'm about to go fight the dragon for the first time and finish up the MQ I suppose? Still not sure how it all works but guess I'll find out. Super excited to finally sink my teeth into BBI.
also pls r8
No, she's the same Esther from PS3.
>TFW god transforms you into a flying magical jew
I just wanted to fuck my pawn, dudes.
>went through the whole game not knowing hundred kisses could be used while climbing
I feel like a fucking moron
>finally find a nice looking mage with high grapnel and spellscreen and not loaded with boons
That's probably mine right now.
If anyone rents her, I am sorry I haven't had the chance to change the inclinations and just finished her augments.
I should just go fight Daimon already. Got distracted with some thunder wyvern.
I fucking hate everything about this game. I want to have fun as warrior, NOPE GAME LITERALLY SHITS ON YOU FOR PICKING THAT VOCATION
ok fine I'll play ranger. Literally ez mode cheese through the next like 3 BBI bosses becasue hurr burr guess what you can kill them from outside the room without even being in combat.
I got to Daimon and at fucking level 115 with 3800 hp he literally fucking 2 shots me, and if by some miracle I can grab onto his back and start using hundred kisses he flicks his finger and in less than half a second I get hit by lightning, which knocks me off, then stuns me, letting me get fucking hit by the next 3 giant fucking ice dicks from the ground leading to instant death even though the lightning and first ice hit killed me already anyways.
I read all the shit on the wiki, and literally fucking none of it matters. It says to use blast arrows on his face with tenfold but they do LITERALLY nothing. No damage, no stun, no knockback. He's immune to literally everything else.
Fuck this game.
I do want to slut up both of them but my sluttitude is limited
I also want to make them red oni and blue oni but I dont have those skin colors yet
So I just got the quest, Final Battle.
I've heard you guys talk alout about postgame/postdragon and just wanted to ask if that is something you're forced into after I beat the dragon or is there one more step after this?
I havnt done BBI yet at all and I'm wondering if I should do that now. I don't want the game to end before I've seen the dlc, but I want to do everything possible first beforehand.
Also, you unlock some kind of everfall dungeon that drops great gear, but it isnt worth it cause BBI has better stuff anyway?!
I just don't wanna end up in NG+ suddenly
Git gud. Warrior isn't the best but that's why you have pawns to cover your weaknesses.
First Gorecyclops, everything in BBI has been fine up until now. Any tips other than perfect block everything?
Oh you mean that's why I hire pawns who all run fucking holy and fire shit still at level 115 right?
Every caster pawn I've ever hired has blown dick and the ONLY decent fighter I found was level 36 and hasn't been updated in 5 days.
There is the everfall after you beat the dragon and the world is changed(many stronger monsters added throughout). There is also a quest you get in the everfall that will take you to NG+ upon completion.
Regardless you could do BBI after the everfall chambers or at the beginning or NG+ if you wanted.
>Just got my first rental today
>5,4,4 but no note and a freakish claw
Things are looking up. Any advice on improvements?
Well arent' you fucking cool this is my first time ever playing this game and this entire place sucks literal nigger dick.
People can somehow kill him at like level 40 but I can't do it with 3 times the levels.
I know I'm not god at this game, probably not even gud, but there is a serious fucking problem if I can't even use advice from a 4 year old wiki to change the fact that this dude one-shots me and takes no damage. Even with stacking priapets or whatever.
Make him look better, get him out of that DLC armour and into something nicer.
Also this is my personal preference but find something that shows his face rather than having a dorky helmet on.
>beat original DD on console
>picked up Dark Arisen for PC
>save BBI for last because I know once I beat it I won't want to play anymore
>get to level 82 Assassin
>"Time to tackle BBI!"
>Everything wrecks my shit
>Mystic Knight and Magic Archer look fun
>already ruined my stat growth by going Fighter > Assassin
>First rent ever
>5 star 5 star 5 star and a small fish
>feels so gud man
>few days later
>3 star 4 star 4 star rotten apple
this shouldn't feel as bad as it actually does.
mfw Tenfold Flurry with Blast Arrows.
Why have I not tried this sooner, everything just that isnt a dragon dies
Oh ok that's good to know.
I guess I will go to everfall once, kill everyone new strong enemy and then visit BBI.
Though what could be the reason to go there after I startet NG+? Doenst that delete my world/quest progress in gransys?
Honestly, the advice on the wiki is absolute garbage written by idiots. It's completely dependent on being overleveled as fuck and minmaxing bullshit.
I killed him as a ranger at your level just yesterday and I found staying at range was the best method. Dodge roll as much as you need to, since it doesn't cost stamina because this game is dumb. Magick archer was a lot easier but it's doable with ranger, it'll just take a while.
So, I could REALLY use some advice for my sorcerer pawn's loadout. She's currently Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator, with High Bolide, High Fulmination, High Gicel, High Comestion, High Miasma, and High Voidspell.
In BBI 1.0, she was doing fine. She got her spells off about 30% of the time, but when she did, it would instantly yield a victory, which seemed pretty good. But now in BBI 2.0, she can't do anything. The huge hordes of enemies and non-stop aggression of the larger enemies means that she's interrupted ALL THE TIME. She can never get spells off. I've only seen her successfully Gicel a drake once since defeating Daimon, and that was when it fell over, and then immediately grabbed and hypnotized a pawn. Otherwise, the wind pressure on the wings interrupts her, or, bizarrely, she'll try jumping on the dragons to distract them because nobody else is doing so, which is useful, but definitely undesirable behavior on a sorcerer. Now all she does is shoot her little staff balls, climb on things, and occasionally cast High Miasma.
Obviously, her spells need to change to maybe one big spell and a lot of small, fast spells, so that she'll be more useful more of the time. Is it worth getting her Stability so that she can ignore wind pressure while casting? Is a status effect heavy sorcerer worthwhile? Is there a better primary/secondary/tertiary inclination layout for a sorcerer pawn in BBI 2.0?
It's the best I can get, regarding both appearance and stats. Everything else I can buy or have found so far looks terrible or isn't for his class. I assume that will just take time.
What do you mean?
Same deal. In fact that is the only shield I have found other then an endless stream of MK gear. Also is launch board that good? I hear people complain about it a lot at times.
>theres a room with 2 gorecyclopses
>you can fight them one at a time
>they drop like 1-2 bbi armor/weapon lv 2 pre daimon
>can snipe them from a ledge where they cant hurt you at all
I'm going to change my main pawn into an orc/orcess shaman using sorceror vocation. Aside from Direwolf Veil what armor to use?
someone thought my pawn wast cute :3
I was like level 70-something with three star Noble Limbs when I reached Daimon. All it took me was 80 blast arrows, 16 conq peritaphs, and 4 hapsurd sauces to down him.
>pawns just stand around like nothings happening
Now I save before every chest
It's on the wrong arm regardless
The shield arm should get extra armor even though it's holding a shield and the sword arm should be free to move around. You don't armor your sword arm and and leave the shield arm uncovered.
I love fighter pawns with launch board. Makes things like hydras and gryphons that much easier, and it's not like I need them to do anything else once I'm on the thing and tearing it a new asshole with hundred kisses.
Daily reminder that warrior can handle anything the games deals to you
New to the game fag here, can someone explain what i'm supposed to be doing in everfall?
just been aimlessly wandering about fighting bosses and getting garbage loot. killed a hydra, cockatrice, the big eyeball thing, and I fought purple and grey Grigori for a bit before he flew off
what exactly should I be doing? do i need to give the pawn lady the wakestones?
there is a shit ton of locked doors/gates in here, how do I open them?
Get the following:
Equip some rings that boost stagger and then just jumping weak the shit out of his face. He won't even be able to move. Arc his pawn vortex too.
You probably want your grigori weapon dragon forged.
also cannon, spells, stone forest ripostes(kind of). Abyssal anguish is the big thing here. Enchantments are also good as well and make the cannon even deadlier.
>that quest to go back to blue tower and chase that wizurd
>the bandits are suddenly a million times tougher
>pawn ai goes to completely shit and just stand around with their thumbs up their asses
>I'm a sorc
>tons of archers just standing there firing barrages of arrows at me which nearly insta kill
>summoned a level 55 pawn from the rift, because I have 300k RC
>even the 55 pawn gets dumpstered
what the fuck is this
I adventure with orcs and other nonhumans, too! That's a dwarf fighter back there.
>bring some low level pawns out to slay dragonkin and shit
These lil niggas getting mad knowledge
Locked doors are the devs being lazy. They don't open.
The ur dragon doesn't heal between encounters. If you're offline you can kill him over several rounds.
Turning in the wakestones basically ends the game.
Do I have to do hex editing to replace coils of light with the japanese version ?
if anyone is looking to take a strider pawn for a whirl (105), i just pimped out my jetstream sam pawn with a bunch of newly dragonforged gear.
i have been getting quite good reviews so far, let me know what you think :)
Well to start, I didn't get the grigori longsword.
On top of that I have 2 barbed nails and all of those traits. He still oneshots me between jump attacks with magic. Which is why I switched to range. To still get oneshot with magic.
The notice board quest that opens the proving grounds, "Put The Eye Out," is it post-game? Because I seem to get it. I've finished every main mission except for "the final battle" and the Grand Soren pawn guild notice board is empty.
I want to get that ascalon sword, do I need to go offline to go kill the ur-dragon and get it?
i did fight online ur until he fucked off, will I get it once he dies or what?
ok, so don't turn in wakestones. Guess i'll hang out here for a bit to get some gear and then BBI?
One of the chambers has a lever that opens every door that's closed and closes every door that's open at the time. It's kind of hidden, it's in the highest level of one of those chambers with the 2 levels. I'd wiki it since my explanation is shit.
I had the EXACT same issue. I have no idea what the fuck happens to pawn ai when you enter blue tower, or why all the bandits are fucking hulks that are nearly impossible to kill unless you're at an assinine level.
>"oh shit, an ogre"
WHY DO I KEEP CALLING IT AN OGRE
Alright, thanks. The cannon so far doesn't feel too strong, but I guess I wasn't using the right element for the enemies.
Also what's the easiest, yet best curative I can get? I've been using potent greenwarish, but my health is getting high and I'm having to use 7-8 to get it back up.
trophy jacket looks gay as fuck on males, wow.
>hole in floor opens
>dicks around there for a bit
>notices something called Gadsbane
>"Points the Arisen to the true path"
>load save from a half hour prior
I just use him for agro control while I cast, so I wouldn't know.
I changed him to a warrior for a bit to get the augments like >>129502196
said, but after that I'll try out launch board. He's utilitarian secondary so hopefully he'd be able to use it with other pawns at least.
>The cannon so far doesn't feel too stron
elemental weakness exploitation + full moon slash m8
you can destroy pretty much anything with a bit of set up and full moon slash spam. I melt drakes and cockatrices in 10 seconds, and that was when I was like level 40 something
If you killed grigori I think you're ready for BBI. It has gear check bosses anyway. Just go there. It's what the end game should have been in the base game.
>don't want my pawns opening chests
>"THIS LOOKS INTERESTING"
>want them too
>"DURRR I DUNNO HOW TO DO THAT"
They should just rename the game dragon's dressup
Do Scather and Mitigator... cancel each other or somehow fuck up a Pawn's behavior?
I'm asking because my Fighter Pawn (Scather/Challenger) often ignores small enemies and does nothing if there are no big enemies or casters around, so I assume having Mitigator as a secondary will fix that.
>Warriors with level 3 BBI weapons have so much stagger that 2 hits of a Thunderwyrms tail sends it to the ground
So I got a couple of mods, and I notice they are all the same file name, and where I drop them has a file of the same name as well.
When i drop it in, it asks if I want to replace it. Do I? If I drop the second mod in, won't it replace the first one?
Do I just rename it?
>not going on jolly hunting trips
I miss pre post-game
yeah i really need to pick up a few oblivion/shadow pieces, mostly the chest.
havent done much daimon farming yet but will be starting soon so that my characters dont look like shit.
Hired, i'll be doing post daimon and some cursed dragon farming enjoy the million rc if it ever goes through.
I did the Shadowfort and Hillfigure Knoll quests for the Wyrm Hunt. Are the other two worth it?
give me my god damn bloodred crystal reeee
I should have been clearer.
Obviously I replace the file thats already there with the one with the mod, but if I replace it again with the other mod, won't that get rid of the first mod I dropped in?
>something feels off
>notice one of my pawns is just gone
>no notice or pop up or anything saying how
>he's just gone
I mean like
If you're looking for a building, but it changed locations, would you find it in the same place?
>won't that get rid of the first mod I dropped in?
Is this a rhetoric question?
Why are people so insistent on holy and fire for BBI on pawns?
Death, the pope, and giant saurian sages are three great reasons not to bring holy, and the presence of drakes, pyre saurians, and hellhounds are a good reason not to bring fire. No enemy in BBI absorbs or resists ice or lightning except for wyverns and wyrms, and they're both susceptible to the one they're not immune to.
I feel like holy and fire enchantments have fucked me over far more than they've ever helped in BBI.
I admire her spirit
But I admire someone else a little more
I'm done with my solo Magick Archer run.
Killed Grigori, fucked offline Ur-Dragon on NG, and tried help on the online one, cleared BBI and BBI 2.0 with only those fucking drakes as a problem. got end game gear from BBI too.
Anyway, i guess this is it. just need to kill death, finishing NG+ and i'm done until th sequel.
Everytime I make my post the thread has just finished god damn it.
If I hire someone's pawn online, and then immediately turn the game to offline, does the pawn still take back Rift Crystals for the user? If so, does it happen the moment I go back online? What if the pawn dies when I'm offline, does it just wait until I go online again to send the Rift Crystals back to the user?
I ask because I'm doing some Rift Crystal farming with Daimon killing and I think it's probably best I take someone's pawn with me rather than just having all this potential RC go to waste. So anyone want some?
It takes me about 15 minutes to get about 60k rift crystals and I dunno, probably... about 30k for you per run I do.
>excited to kill dragon for the first time and check out this post game everfall
>fight is dumb scripted shit
>post game completely ruins the world
>dont feel like an adventurer and actually regret beating it
tell me it gets better
I hope you made the right choice, anon.
Reposting this for anyone who didn't get to hear it
Which side is better there are minute differences but my autism needs help
pre makeover but, looks like veil is too much for sorceror fuck
What. I've cleared Daimon as a warrior lvl 70 or so, 2 mages that literally did nothing other than dying and my almighty fighter pawn. I never played the game before. I had a lot of fun fighting him too.
Death or suicide into the abyss
>Pawn is a strider
>she keep mimicing me, jump brain splitter like a good grill
>she even glitching her way too, brain splitter from high ground for not getting damage, i was fucking amazed to see that
>mfw she decided to jump brain splitter enemy into the abyss
i was proud
a singleton sorceror trying to cast world enders is not good in BBI2. she either needs a friend (preferably 2) with the same loadout to syncrocast, or she needs to limit her loadout to like fulmination, ice and/or holy affinity, and even lassitude to compliment a melee party
if you just throw a world ender sorc into a party without syncrocasting it's bad
Too complicated for you to do, actually.
It requires tools and time and a little bit of smarts.
Plus, I dont know which mods are doing what you want. So it makes it even more complicated than that.
Is there anyway to kill this guy with only physical damage that doesn't involve a cliff?
They helped me a lot in early/early-mid game.
Now they're just enchanting machine. I should hire one with multiples enchants and that's it I think. Most rangers I've hired are straight out of autism-land.
>tfw no r8s
So anything else I should do before going into the Final Battle? Got all the side quests done but maybe I'm missing something minor?
Try exploring a little before going to Dark Arisen. Some of the Everfall content (some, not all) is kind of interesting, and revisiting areas in Gransys can yield fights with large monsters that weren't present before, like drakes and wyverns all over the damn fields, griffons near the bandit fort, and a hydra
underneath the shadowfort.
There are also a few unique enemies in the Everfall you won't see if you just skip it, like
the arch hydra, the evil eye, the Ur-Dragon, and a few dickish rooms like a chimera, gorechimera, and a lich that summons unlimited hellhounds.
holy is for daimon, cursed dragons, and maybe most importantly wights
you're right that fire is not useful. almost everything fire is good against, holy is good too
ice affinity is good, but lightning is not so needed because fulmination kills everything that's weak to lightning ridiculously
>You have to sleep 5 times to respawn a boss instead of just one for 5 days
so i used the teleporting stone to go back to the first townafter completing the quest where you go into the spiral staircase pit but i didnt trigger the cutscene wich starts the wyrm hunt so i could do the lost and found quest but now it wont let me complete the quest to the mayor am i fucked
No, Arctools is needed to edit one of them, to add what they changed into the other.
But like I said, I dont know which mods it is, or what they add or where they add it to.
Or maybe it's obvious
>pawn sent back
>1 star in every category
Delta Guard, probably. Not sure about the chest armour, though. Maybe Berserkin or Frame Plate? I think sorcerer can wear either of those.
Don't forget to add the Direwolf Cape to go with your helm.
Is the Shierke anon from launch still here?
I want to add him.
I just found out that
setting fire to a hydra's neck stump prevents the head from regrowing while the debilitation is active, and if you remove all four heads and have them burning simultaneously, the hydra dies instantly and the fight ends, regardless of how much health it has remaining.
I have never seen this before.
Its lesser hybrid version of balanced leveling up and a no stamina when sprinting mod if you cared. I've already beaten the game on console before so Im just changing it up a bit.
you have to turn that in for a quest later
you can either do the quest yourself to get another legit copy, or just make a forgery of that one and hand in the forgery
whatever you do, just make sure you still have one afterwards
>and if you remove all four heads and have them burning simultaneously, the hydra dies instantly and the fight ends,
Maybe its because I fought an Archydra, but instead it simply placed it into weakened "cannot do shit state" for a short period of time.
Yes, yes you did love.
Yea I know, I'm assuming he decided he didn't want it cause he plays an Assassin with a warrior pawn so he doesn't need it, and he likes using my pawn because she's a doom casting sorcerer like me.
I've heard some good things about warriors using weapons with debilitations, but I don't care for it personally. I'd rather have with a rust weapon that has a proper, damage-dealing weapon as well. Like a Strider/Ranger with a rust bow and solid daggers, for instance.
>pawn has the best inclination setup for their vocation
>top of the line gear
>literally obliterates everything for me when roaming around
>get on after sleeping
>8 people hired my pawn while I was away
>almost all of them gave 5 stars in all catagories
>that one person that gives a 1 in every catagory and leaves the note "used skills inneffectually"
Is the trophy set useful for a ranger pawn? I plan on equipping her with dragon's glaze for that sick frozen status effects on bosses if that's anything worth mentioning.
I just really like the look but feel the magic bonus might be wasted on a pawn
inclinations were a last minute addition to give pawns some explicit behavior, because focus testing revealed that most players didn't understand their pawn was learning from their actions. the heart of the pawn system has always been learning by observation
pawn learning is frankly a pretty major achievement in videogame AI and i think it would be incredibly lame to regress to something like the Gambit system which is infamous for basically playing the game for you
do you guys prefer using a staff on your mystick archer or daggers? what's better for bbi? i was thinking staff, so i could hang back casting spells while my pawns are fucking shit up
I feel like dumbshit. I just discovered you can hundred kisses while climbing a mob.
ninefold matt daimon
2 minutes and you done
This game is fun. And all these salty people sheesh.
How the fuck do I do the conversion from the pirated copy to the legit copy. I preordered it and downloaded that guys save converter but I have no idea how to use it. I have it open in Command Prompt and dont know where to go from there. The readme doesnt tell jack shit and a lot of the threads on reddit don't actually say what to do other than "Use this tool to convert the saves." Please help I'm retarded.
>First battle with the living armor as assassin.
>"sweet, finally a straight up fight. Got real sick of getting my shit pounded by fat zombies, bullshit ghosts, ranger pawns, or fucking Death"
>Stab him in the dick
>He walks trough it while I'm stuck in the animation and slaps me in the face with his shield for all my health.
I don't even know why I keep bothering.
that's why I switched to dagger instead for masterful kills
and die from fall damage against larger enemies
Kidnapped by the Dragon or he died in an escort (wait 7 days or so)
triggered by your staff clipping btw
I'm aware that stats don't matter that much but I want to restart as a pure sorc, but my faggot friends will complain if I restart because they're using my BBI geared pawn.
Is there a way to use Steam Family Sharing to play the game on my second account that owns a few old games?
Today on 'Pawns do the funniest things'
Final Fantasy is pretty boring compared to DDDA so I feel using whatever you're talking about would be a huge mistake. Honestly it sounds archaic and mechanical, and like you don't play many other kids of games.
>change main pawns features around a bit, make him taller, put some thought into it
>8 hires since 12 hours ago
Add me if any of you want, Profile: SopaParaguaya. Used to play it on ps3, but this port is awesome, missed this game so much... currently lvl70. Post Dragon, doing Black Isle and Everfall
It's pretty much going like this -
magick rebalancer X4
close quarters? Ricochet hunter
One target? NINEFOLD.
Flying fuckers or drake? Hunter shot
You can also go flaming and kiss the bride with your knives i guess
>already finished Deny Salvation
>Madeleine is still at her spot
>Selene is still in her house
Ah shit... those were the only characters I consciously raised affinity with. Well, I fucked up the Fournival quest so at least I know it's not him, unless Grigori can bust him out of jail for his purposes.
>Been playing as Strider/Ranger for pretty much all of the main game
>Hit postgame, time give Warrior a try to get some more augments and to train up my Warrior pawn a bit better, he's decent but could be smarter
>Get Indomitable Lash
>You can hear the gravel raining down after using it
Side note, is Escape Slash any good? I miss having my dodge roll already
I was on suicide watch for a while
so if you go down to Conqueror's Sanctuary and look out at the sea you can see a mountain in the distance
it's foggy for me right now so I can just barely make it out but is that Bitterblack?
it's in a south-western direction, away from Cassardis
>doing all the side quests instead of rushing through
>not getting new armor/weapons from the shop
>pawn went from 5 hires a day to nothing because hes using low level shit compared to his level
