Clap for the devs edition
>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

You would think that would be unacceptable in this age. Non-US people already shit bricks when a US game isn't released with Swahili dubs.
I guess Capcom and other nips have a steady supply of weebs who support everything they do.
if you want active gameplay, aka move around and actually get good with the fighting, play figher, strider, warrior or assassin.
every other class has you standing there casting shit for ever.
I played MK and while perfect blocking is indeed very fun, at some point you cant rely on it and spend your time casting sigil and great cannon.
>waifu dressup simulator
>can marry literally any NPC
>lots of gender-based content, including rape ogres and amazoness guilds
>whole gimmick is that your partner is perfectly obedient
Why isn't this an h-game? Actual question. It would have made quintuple its sales and more.
POST ARISENS AND PAWNS
the two knights are random hires
So do Ranger pawns actually use special arrows? I put 50 of each in my pawns inventory but she hasn't used a single one. She's level 68 now.
Do I need to train her? I'm trying that now by using the appropriate arrows against whichever large monster we're fighting. I'd like her to use spiral arrow to apply debilitation but yeah...she's just not.
Jesus fuck I give up
My sorcerer pawn is complete ass and I don't even care anymore. I'm making him a mage, it's literally impossible to fuck that up.
I bet I'd get a shit ton more hires anyway.
>Someone equipped stuff on my pawn
Im not sure if it was on purpose or not, but thanks
>enter bigass arena looking room
>only fight some goblins and a single cyclopse
Just got this, I'm happy.
Post Fashion's Dogma /ddg/, I need ideas.
Good lord, I'm SO fucking glad for that. I'd prefer two regular Wyverns spamming Lassitude over ONE Dire Wyvern, because with that Dire Wyvern comes a host of Living Armour instead.
I forgot how fun BBI 2.0 can be.
>blue still reckons that was barely worth trying
If anyone would like a sorc pawn that blows shit up, hit me up.
lvl 53 | Challenger/Uti
>someone says he just defeated all the shit in everfall instead of running during the first pawn quest
>decide to do the same
>they indeed keep their health when they pop up again
>kill like 30
>full health ones keep spawning
I feel like I've been rused
What level and what gear should I have when I fight daimon 2: electric boogaloo?
Playing as MK at level 85 or so and it feels like I'm doing no damage to him at all whether I'm climbing or using great cannon. I remember not having much trouble with him as fighter on console but he's kicking my ass right now.
Someone mind explaining a bit of ur-dragon to me?
I get some of it
>He's a shared world boss
>you all work to bring him down in life
>everytime he is killed there is a grace period where you can go in and kill him for 1/2 or less hearts (1-15)
>everytime you beat him he goes up in level
So what happens when you don't beat him? Like no one, does he reset back to generation 1?
how do I stop my sorc pawn from TRYING TO CAST HIGH FUCKING BOLIDE ON SHITTY FUCKING GOBLINS
it has high levin and high comestion, it shouldn't be trying to use literally the longest casting spell in its arsenal on tiny foes
I'm surprised no one played or made a Elysion pawn.
he doesnt look too hard to copy, then just get the robe from the catacombs.
I'll probably make a sorcerer pawn elysion in a next playthrough
Use Pilgrim's Charms and kill shit. OR since you're in 2.0 now, use Rancid Bait to summon Cursed Dragons in the Duskmoon Tower, farm them with Pilgrim's Charms. Tons of EXP and the added bonus of potentially dragonforging shit.
I'm really bad at fashion dogma.
Yeah I remember people talking about that too. I guess you just eat 4 of them before every fight and hope your pawn starts doing the same? I'll stick with Ranger for a while and see if she starts using the arrows.
Sorry I fucked up the OP guys, at least it has some variety.
UR-DRAGON HAS ONLY ONE BAR LEFT !
GRACE SOON PEOPLE !
Pawns are pretty much guaranteed to use Periapts against high-danger enemies like Eliminators and Living Armours, yet they...still rarely use them against Daimon. Same with special arrows. It's weird as fuck.
Periapts + Blast Arrows is god mode, so just kill the fattest thing you can access, go back to the mainland, rest seven days then return.
Use Bezeled Crown if you're a ranger to double your exp.
Be sure to have weal and weal accessories.
For efficiency, focus your farming Cursed Dragons since you can also get loads of your stuff Dragonforged at the same time.
Then once you've done all that, realise all those levels are pointless and gear is more important anyway. Have fun!
Because he is an annoying little shit. Grigori just said what you were thinking the entire time when he squashes him like a bug. He is inconsequential and you only dealt with him because he just ran around causing trouble for normal people for NO FUCKING REASON.
If the dragon is all powerful unstoppable manifestation of the end of days, his shit ass cult wouldn't have to disrupt shit. Grigori needs no god damn help to obliterate the world, only the Arisen can stop him.
>day night cycle is now worthless
>shitty visibility all around
>everything gives me 1000+ exp
>all fun stuff I could do before is gone
>I can't master thief traveling pawns
>can't get a shitton of sour steak whenever I want for EZ cash
>fucking HELLHOUNDS and whatever the new harpies -strength song is
this is the worst. fuck everything about this.
I want my comfy monster hunting back.
it actually does more damage
split damage weapons in this game are hot garbage.
Just finish the game, kill grigori and you'll get dragon's dogma, bringing you to about 1200 strenght with the right augments at level 50 or so.
the same goes for pretty much every other class that isnt sorcerer or magic archer I believe, you want highest strenght possible.
This is the crew. I call them my crew.
I wonder if I still have my PS3 screenshots somewhere, had tons of fashion there.
So far, I only got this.
Yeah I know hes a useless cunt who doesnt actually understand anything, I just think he looks cool and having him as a pawn might be noice.
Its just that I dont have much inspiration when creating characters, and from looking at random pawns in the rift most people dont either.
Same haircuts, same kind of gear, same kind of girl pawns everywhere no matter the vocation, shit sucks.
I actually meant to have him wear that instead of the Abyssinal Coat, but the belt's
cursedfor male characters right now. Game crashes if you try to equip it on them. Something I realized after dragonforging it to gold.
So are there any specific notice board quests that I should be on the look out for? Fun ones that is. So far I have been skipping all of the generic ones like go kill 40 rabbits or 40 skeletons because I rather not be over-leveled. Game is easy enough and it doesn't help that you get EXP thrown at you even more if you're going solo/duo main pawn.
Anyone have a good mage for post game overworld stuff?
I don't really want to try BBI or everfall yet.
not when normal enemies are still this scary.
I do want to fight ur-dragon though how hard is he to get to
are you fucking kidding me
the first grace I can actually attend after doing three of its health bars myself and I get this shit
>Up on a cliff
>enemy down below
>"let's try a plunging attack!"
>mfw I realize i'm playing the wrong game mid-jump
You don't have to fight a single enemy to get to him, assuming you've already gotten the Fathom Deep quest. He's in one of the Everfall chambers called Chamber of Lament, pretty far down.
Holy fuck, did Awakened Daimon's rift vortex always drain stamina this fast? I don't remember it being so bad back on consoles.
grace lasts five minutes on PC
had to restart to get in and it just gave me this
Can you get bitterblack lvl 3 armor in midnight helix?
Supposedly you can from the chest right beside the void key but I have been godbaning the last 20 minutes and I have only gotten novelties even though it's 5.6% chance for armor
Actually, you're forced to do the Evil Eye fight before any of the chambers actually go to the right spot. Every door leads to Chamber of Confusion for Evil Eye rematch from Everfall.
That's because it ran half the speed, GET IT.
Should I give him the real deal or should I give him this forgery? Is there any point to giving him the legitimate book, outside of him going for a kill steal with it later on?
>making my loli pawn get a bit taller with each NG
It's the little things. They grow up so fast
What the fuck, why was he so weak ?
I killed him in seconds with two random pawns ( sorcerer / ranger ), I'm level 65 with caxton weapons and random gear I found in the game.
I'm in new game+ but no BBI or everfall gear.
I was afraid not to be able to do enough damage in the 8 minutes allowed, the sorc spammed high levin I believe, and me and my pawn both spammed skull splitter a few times, and it was over.
>When the Ur-Dragon is summoned during Grace, it will have about 0.1 health showing on its healthbar and randomly have anywhere from one to fifteen hearts. If all hearts are destroyed in one round, that player has killed the online Ur-Dragon
Is the wiki wrong? I only hit two hearts and I still killed it.
I still have my PS3 caps
Not him but i'm already level 47 and i've yet to get the wyrmking ring.
I just fuck around too much, do sidequests and level vocations to try out different things.
Also, does BBI change when you get to post game? I'm unsure if i have to wait with final boss and wrap up BBI first or if i can do that after.
honestly I'm bad at fashion's dogma
>Not him but i'm already level 47 and i've yet to get the wyrmking ring.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Though I'm a bit lower level (43) and just got the Wyrmking a few minutes ago. Completionist autism is one hell of a drug.
Nier! Get out of the fucking fountain!
Can't go wrong with silk lingerie. Works well with a lot of leather leg armors.
>forging a gold idol is nearly 200k
I was so close to 1 million, /ddg/.
>trying hard mode for the first time since i played dd
i can't remember, can pawns not revive you?
Dunno, but as magic knight (same amount of frames) I perfect block a ton.
>Perfect block Daimons ice shars + thunder + ice blocks
I AM A GOD
threadly reminder to give 1 star appearance to princess cosplayers. That set is a fucking plague.
Loads, perfect blocking makes a block consume no stamina and deals high stagger damage to everything around you. And periphery makes it pretty fucking easy, it gives you like 5x more frames to perfect block.
well as magic knight there's an actual incentive
for fighter, other than no stamina loss, I don't think there is an incentive
and how often did you see people perfect parry arrows in dark souls just to not lose stamina
I didn't do any escort quests before "Stage 4" in the wiki article, aka after meeting the Duke, and they've all disppeared except for one. I've read that it's affinity based and raising affinity with those who the quests where for will bring them back, as well as it being location based depending on where the npc is/what day it is.
Annoyingly I can't find a single source that states how it actually works, which is stupid considering how long the game has actually been out.
I find their spells a little distracting
Also the mage ends up doing more work than them for everything but large monsters
That one is by far my favorite... wait a second.
They don't revive you on normal or easy either. If you die it's reload time.
If you got the game on steam you right click on dragon dogma in library and select screenshots. In the screenshot window click "Show on disk".
What? Sorcerors have other spells, you know.
Good Sorcerors have spammable stuff, miasma, lassitude voidspell, sometimes buffs. After all of that you might have room for a Bolide. The big spells don't define how the class is played.
>I'd appretiate that if you don't mind
"I thought I needed to forget my past. And I became autistic."
I know this pretty shit, aside from posting from a SNES. Best I could manage.
think i've been playing too much ddon
Well.. I originally through it was him trying to give the Arisen's Bond to his pawn and not being able to and that was the end of it.
With the added final panel, I have no fucking clue.
What's up with that Reaper in BBI? Went there at lv70 for the first time on NG+ because I skipped it at first. He takes no dmg apparently from holy arrows and killed me in one swoop with the scythe.
I have returned Kanna and Haldir to their own worlds, so I suggest the owners go ahead and rest up.
You guys should hopefully get a ton of riftbux because I took them both through all of BBI 2.0 and started using Pilgrim's Charms in the third stratum.
Despite having no skills when I hired her (which I didn't realise till well into my trip) Kanna held her own very well in BBI 2.0.
Warrior/10 would rent again.
>Drops nothing but Shields and Maces
Is it too much to ask for Daggers or a damn bow
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\41342197\760\remote\367500\screenshots
it's here for me anon, steam puts screen shots in a weird place, you're better off just opening the screenshot manager on steam and asking it to show on disc.
Just answering in case no one else does, I think he's supposed to be like a DPS check. If you can deal enough damage at once he despawns with hardly any damage taken, at least that happened for me.
It worked for me at lv49, what's your vocation?
Is bringing Rook along the epic new /ddg/ meme?
can't deny that he looks swell though
It changes the element of the little staff projectiles. Unbuffed staves/archistaves that have a permanent element will fire the regular shots with the attached element, while actually buffing a staff/archistaff with an element will change how the shots work.
It's why Holy-buffed Focused Bolt is so amazingly powerful.
Finally got my pawn
leftand my Arisen to their respective classes.
Ranger and Assassin. Time to kill some goblins and see if I hate myself yet.
forgot my image
Mystic Knight has a perfect combination of flashy animations and cool abilities.
Pulling out a perfect block or summoning an immense stream of magical energy while playing with enemies in 2hu is so fucking satisfying.
He's basically the strongest miniboss. Instantly Rifts your pawns. There's one that always spawns when you first play and after that he appears in the very dark area near the end. Post-Daimon, he gets a lot of spawn points in various areas.
I found great cannon kinda boring. I prefer to be up close and personal with the enemy so I can bash their face in. Can MK do that? I would go fighter, but I've heard BBI is hell.
>That's not the point. The point is that it exists.
It was originally only obtainable by updating a vanilla save with DA. It was reward to people who'd already played.
So yeah, just don't use it.
Haven't played a lot of vocations yet, but as a fighter, I found that zipping across battlefields knocking enemies all along the way using Blink Strike, then caving heads in with rapid-fire shield bashes and dramatically skewering whoever was left on with a sword was pretty great. It's a very visceral and agile type of combat that defies the stereotypes of a sword-and-shield frontliner.
Warrior's been pretty great too. Using Whirlwind Slash on enemies that are susceptible to the knock-up never gets old.
>Fucked up on my Art of Metamorphosis
>Pawn looks like shit
>can't get another until post game
please tell me there's another option
It was a reward for console players who bought the original DD and then bought Dark Arisen
Basically allowed us to bypass all that tedious backtracking we already did
That they flat out give it to everyone who reaches Gran Soren is terrible but I guess it makes the game more accessible to plebs
I completed the game (almost no BBI though, saving that for later) at 80+ as a pure physical arisen/pawn. Now restarting to play mage/sorc master/apprentice.
The game has enough shit for you to do and kill that you'll still have fun on a second playthrough, don't sweat it.
>first time against Ur
>kill it with some luck
>3 piece abyssinal set, holy daggers, holy 2 handed sword, holy sorcerer staff
did I just get extremely lucky ?
I should be good for BBI now right ? I want some more of that abyssinal set though, for my pawn, those resists are sweet.
MK has access to full moon slash and sigil that draws all small enemies to you so of course you can.
Largest mistake of people playing as MK is that they tend to just spam cannon when this class has a good ability set including a powerful ground-shattering earthquake spell that sends shit flying in different directions.
I'm happy with my warrior fashion at least.
does it get boring? Usually mmos have a lot of grinding and I don't want to keep doing the same shit with this combat system. I'm considering going through the effort of trying it out tho
>Pawn got hired
>0 RC and a rock
That's a funny joke, Anon, I haven't done anything besides taking screenshots.
why didn't i stop...
i saw it coming..
>come back to Selene
>"WHAT WHY IS SHE DEAD?!"
>just lying down
Interesting, you can farm Hobgoblins at the lake beyond the Quarry for Curious Wine and combine it with White Sage which you find plenty of in said quarry to make Matured Greenwarish.
Granted at that point you can nab plenty of Healing Spring water for a few bucks for partyheals, but this is a good way to get some potent personal healing item that doesn't weigh much.
I thought the washed out pink looked closer than the game's hot pink. Moving the lips lower made them way too low, at least in the CC. Didn't even want to check in-game.
There's actually some decent DD stuff in there finally.
There are people in this thread RIGHT NOW who prefer anodyne over high/grand anodyne.
>b-but muh cast time gets interrupted m-m-muh
If the pawn's not bumfuck retarded and standing in the middle of the fight, and there's a warrior/fighter taunting the enemies, you'll be fucking fine.
Not only is the actual heal way faster than regular anodyne, but it gives you a passive heal buff of regular anodyne when you walk through it.
If the mage pawn in question has adept's robes then it's even better.
I cannot fathom people who prefer regular anodyne.
Also high halidom is better as well because it cures more debilitations.
Don't fall for the "regular anodyne is best" meme. Especially in BBI.
Alternatively if you're fucking swimming in curatives you don't even need a mage pawn.
Don't bully my little hobo waifu
>Saved jewtits from being a prostitute
I feel good.
So Pawns are just regular humans, except they don't have the "spark" that drives them to do shit on their own, right? And they're practically immortal outside of being sent back to the rift and don't have to eat or drink or sleep, right?
Does this mean they can't shit? I mean, even if they don't have to eat, they still consume berries and herbs. What if you order a Pawn to shit? If they have to shit while in the rift, what happens? Since they're technically human, can they get pregnant? Do female Pawns go through a period?
Pretty much all of them have fun and flashy moves.
Lesson learned, don't randomly use new skills in town.
Armor matters, but you don't need top tier defense.
Weapons matter more.
Somehow, I never thought of that.
BEHOLD! Bask in the mediocrity of my arisen and pawn.
>about to die as fighter
>grigori breathes fire
>just fucking dragon's maw through it
This shit is so satisfying jesus christ.
I know I could've just healed in stead.
You can hire my pawn and give it to her.
If you can't find her we can always add each other on steam.
Weapon is like 500 times more important. When it comes to armor you can easily go for looks.
They're "Hollow vessels in the form of man"
Each pawn was created from a part of their master, and eventually will become them.
See Selene, Barnaby, Olra, your own pawn in the ending.
you said it, but beware the proplayers are coming with their facts.
I totally agree though, I'm wondering if people preaching for no-mage pawn or use of regular anodyne arent either cheaters, low level players, or trolls.
You get grand anodyne later and its even better, I'm just laughing my ass off thinking of the retards rolling with the basic spells.
I wish this was easier, fuck the cockatrice. He's total dick head.
>Cutscene shows her running ahead through the gate
>Sprint after the cutscene ends
>Her character model loads in after I start sprinting right ahead of me
>Run into her
I did the same thing. Pawns always look fatter in game than they do in CC, especially when they put armor on. Basically have to put them at 1-2 Weight or else they look obese.
Just for a change of pace ive been thinking of switching my Sorc to a Magic Archer. Question is is me being mage/sorc the whole game gonna make me a crappy archer? And for the however many levels i am a MA is that gonna screw up my Sorc vocation if i decide to swap back?
>have a house
>cant sleep in your own bed
Reminder that you can now mix and match weapons from any class using cheat engine.
warrior with shield or bow, or magic bow
sorcerer with great shield or bow, or magic bow
mystic knight with arch staff
the sky is the limit.
Next up: switching weapons in real time and core skills regardless of class. It's gonna happen.
The first time i fought that it made me
>get a pawn at lvl 75
>now lvl 115
>go kill daimon 2.0
>she gets blasted off a ledge by a thunderwyvern
I'll never be able to tell the pawn owner just how much she helped me
>been playing with a friends level 50 pawn since the beginning of the game
>Just now found out it gimps your XP
>already at wyrm hunt
>only level 29
How fucked am I?
Nope, I made this Bad Boss myself.
If you want the sliders I wont have them until I can change his appearance, which I want to do to tweak it at some point anyway.
>Reminder that you can now mix and match weapons from any class using cheat engine.
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT? Last time I checked Cielos' table it was just skills, not weapons. God damn, son.
>wasnt ever a problem for me,
thats a lie, or you havent gotten very far into BBI.
that, or you actually enjoy spending half your time in your inventory and using curatives.
I mean looking good is one thing, but denying that resists are important is another.
>Ranger is just a boring Strider
Why was this allowed? When does this vocation get good?
>Likes: Money, her trusty dagger, people who help her make money
Yes? This doesn't contradict the fact that she has her own store. "Gold digger" is usually people who want to live off other people like people who marry old ugly rich guys about to die.
Do you get anything for fighting the ur-dragon? As in not killing it, just fighting it and doing what damage you can for the 10 minutes until it flies away. Because I did so and got nothing.
Is it worth using an aneled archstaff on my sorc pawn even though it doesn't offer as much magic ability? Oiling and blinding enemies + fire spells seems nice, especially with the buffslut giving everyone fire weapons.
>resists are important
>when there's an MA skill that makes you immune to magically-inflicted ailments
>and an MA skill that cures them and prevents them from occurring for a little while after
>and when sobering wines exist
I think it also has to do with the pawns learning, I'm fucking around with my sorc pawn right now and at first with high versions of spells she'd interrupt casting all the fucking time or start at retarded times. They seem to get better at finding the right windows as they use the spells more.
great cannon is boring if you spam FMS on it but that's not even the best way to use it
the best way to use it is blessed riposte and a sorceror pawn with fulmination and miasma. with effects like this up you can ignore FMS spamming, and they outgenerate FMS by a lot
The purple drank knight is wearing what looks like animalstic robes over brigandine
I guess bringing Rook could be interesting as a sort of self imposed challenge, only have him as a pawn. It'd be more fun to just go solo at that point though.
I have WAY too much shit in my inventory. What are some must-have curatives and combinations to keep my carry weight down?
>that neat little post-combat animation
how did i never notice this before
Killed Grigori for the first time and was blown out by the aftermath of the victory. "Wow, those weapons the dragon gave me seem quite overpowered" I told myself, before getting blasted by wolves that are actually not weak to fire.
With a controller you can smash all the buttons to make it release you faster, so does smashing your keyboard like a madman also work?
>40 levels of training my ranger pawn and it still doesn't learn to use special arrows
I want to die
I miss my old gear
I usually bring 10 big mushrooms, 10 healing items of some sort, 3 anti-poisons and an all-cure/panacea or two. Pack some extra softener if I know there's hot chicks around.
Blue and I are looking for a couple more pawns to join us in our BBI 2.0 shenanigans. If you're around lvl 150-165, say so and I'll hire your pawn for a while. Lower leveled pawns are fine, too, but BBI 2.0 is some real nasty shit at times.
Go visit Bitterblack Isle. Revel in the sheer volume of big monsters to fight.
Run in fear when the Grim Reaper comes bearing down on your ass.
Split damage is generally worse, boons are only useful for striking specific weaknesses, and those aren't worth splitting your damage for.
See, if you're dealing 501 physical damage and 250 magic damage and the enemy has 500 physical defense and 250 magical defense, you'd only deal 1 damage, so a weapon with 502 physical damage would actually do better even though the stats are apparently worse.
Anyone need a tanky level 45 Fighter?
She likes throwing stuff, any usable item will most likely be used if given the opportunity.
Has 100% sleep resist, if that's in any way important to you
>level 45 in BBI
Wackity-smackity doo just fucking kill him in offline mode.
I was asking why people give a shit about the drops and grace period. READ.
>Tried Tenfold combo on Gore cyclops head
>nope, likely 0 dmg, enchanted by a mage
>Jumped on it's head using hundred kisses with a Chilling Razor, like 0 dmg
Fug, is this guy ultra tough or I am too weak on equipment and should'v left him on the wall?
I can try and pick her up when I get on, I was asking in the last general for exactly this. Is there any way to make search easier? I tried looking for some of the pawns in the list but I couldn't find them.
I know I'm going to get shit for this, but one thing witcher 3 did better was giving you plenty of clear opportunities to go fuck big monsters up. The noticeboard quests were actually fun diversions rather than just accepting eveything without reading and getting rewarded for shit you were already going to do anyway.
Is this decent? I noticed you need a different setup once you enter post-game.
In other words, would you hire her?
If not, what should I change?
>Tell someone your beloved is Selene
>They call you a loli lover
SHE'S LIKE 300 YEARS OLD FUCKING NORMIES
It's super easy on a keyboard since you can mash A+D at the same time and never get hurt by grapple attacks.
That augment that makes you less susceptible to grapples is still a must for Hard Mode though.
In the top left merceds is like
>abloo bloo I must make a pitiable sight
>I'm not fit to be a knight
>I'll give you this (Arisen's Bond) so don't cry
Not sure what mercedes/selene are saying in the middle
Arisen in the bottom left is saying
>Did I make the wrong decision?
Or something like that
Could you guys give your opinion in this build?
-Arisen - Assassin sword/bow - not so much about damage and more of a jack-of-all-trades
-Pawn - Fighter - Tanker, A good meat shield that can be used in Hard mode and BBI
