So do Ranger pawns actually use special arrows? I put 50 of each in my pawns inventory but she hasn't used a single one. She's level 68 now.

Do I need to train her? I'm trying that now by using the appropriate arrows against whichever large monster we're fighting. I'd like her to use spiral arrow to apply debilitation but yeah...she's just not.

Playing as MK at level 85 or so and it feels like I'm doing no damage to him at all whether I'm climbing or using great cannon. I remember not having much trouble with him as fighter on console but he's kicking my ass right now.

Pawns are pretty much guaranteed to use Periapts against high-danger enemies like Eliminators and Living Armours, yet they...still rarely use them against Daimon. Same with special arrows. It's weird as fuck.

Periapts + Blast Arrows is god mode, so just kill the fattest thing you can access, go back to the mainland, rest seven days then return.

Use Bezeled Crown if you're a ranger to double your exp.

Be sure to have weal and weal accessories.

For efficiency, focus your farming Cursed Dragons since you can also get loads of your stuff Dragonforged at the same time.

Then once you've done all that, realise all those levels are pointless and gear is more important anyway. Have fun!

Just finish the game, kill grigori and you'll get dragon's dogma, bringing you to about 1200 strenght with the right augments at level 50 or so.

So are there any specific notice board quests that I should be on the look out for? Fun ones that is. So far I have been skipping all of the generic ones like go kill 40 rabbits or 40 skeletons because I rather not be over-leveled. I killed him in seconds with two random pawns ( sorcerer / ranger ), I'm level 65 with caxton weapons and random gear I found in the game.
I'm in new game+ but no BBI or everfall gear.

I was afraid not to be able to do enough damage in the 8 minutes allowed, the sorc spammed high levin I believe, and me and my pawn both spammed skull splitter a few times, and it was over.

I didn't do any escort quests before "Stage 4" in the wiki article, aka after meeting the Duke, and they've all disppeared except for one. I've read that it's affinity based and raising affinity with those who the quests where for will bring them back, as well as it being location based depending on where the npc is/what day it is.

Annoyingly I can't find a single source that states how it actually works, which is stupid considering how long the game has actually been out.

I have returned Kanna and Haldir to their own worlds, so I suggest the owners go ahead and rest up.
You guys should hopefully get a ton of riftbux because I took them both through all of BBI 2.0 and started using Pilgrim's Charms in the third stratum.
Despite having no skills when I hired her (which I didn't realise till well into my trip) Kanna held her own very well in BBI 2.0.

Haven't played a lot of vocations yet, but as a fighter, I found that zipping across battlefields knocking enemies all along the way using Blink Strike, then caving heads in with rapid-fire shield bashes and dramatically skewering whoever was left on with a sword was pretty great. It's a very visceral and agile type of combat that defies the stereotypes of a sword-and-shield frontliner.

Warrior's been pretty great too. Using Whirlwind Slash on enemies that are susceptible to the knock-up never gets old.

I completed the game (almost no BBI though, saving that for later) at 80+ as a pure physical arisen/pawn. Now restarting to play mage/sorc master/apprentice.
The game has enough shit for you to do and kill that you'll still have fun on a second playthrough, don't sweat it.

Interesting, you can farm Hobgoblins at the lake beyond the Quarry for Curious Wine and combine it with White Sage which you find plenty of in said quarry to make Matured Greenwarish.
Granted at that point you can nab plenty of Healing Spring water for a few bucks for partyheals, but this is a good way to get some potent personal healing item that doesn't weigh much.

If the pawn's not bumfuck retarded and standing in the middle of the fight, and there's a warrior/fighter taunting the enemies, you'll be fucking fine.

Not only is the actual heal way faster than regular anodyne, but it gives you a passive heal buff of regular anodyne when you walk through it.

If the mage pawn in question has adept's robes then it's even better.

I cannot fathom people who prefer regular anodyne.

Also high halidom is better as well because it cures more debilitations.

Don't fall for the "regular anodyne is best" meme. Especially in BBI.

Alternatively if you're fucking swimming in curatives you don't even need a mage pawn.
