rip those lost rents edition
>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

I have a question about rentin pawns: So I do know that pawns with main guard or heal can fuck off but why do some pawns cost RC?
Also does the level matter terribly on pawns? I'm around 19 now and between all those level 19 pawns there is this one level 47 one. What's up with that? If I hire it wouldn't it throw the difficulty way off?
Is her armor obtainable?
I want that shiny gold bikini.
I'm in post game, can I still find a griffin ?
Need to kill one for the winged reaver quest and the gloves of might.
If so, where ?
Wiki says the one outside gran soren is replaced by a cockatrice in post game, and I dont know where else to find one.
Feels good senpai
If anyone wanna hire her name is Puffy Heals and she's level 33 or 34 mage with Medical and Utility alignment. Made her as bitch support as i can. But she's a frequent user of grand ingle.
This is also my 7th character, so I got the leveling down pat. Made a b-line for BBI so I could start farming for level 3 cursed weapons and armors to pass around. Already have 6 level 2 cursed weapons and 8 armors to go, just waiting until the renting shenanigans have been remedied.
>Can someone explain how RC reward work?
Directly proportional to the amount of XP earned while your Pawn was in their party.
>If you hire a pawn for free, does its owner receive RC
>use downpour volley on an apple tree
>3 apples fall out
>throw an exploding barrel at an rock with ore
>all the ore flies out
>give pawn a pickaxe and she/he will use it
I love things like these.
>got a successful return from a friend earlier
>got a 0 + Rock just now
Stuff really is still fucked.
>rest once again after swapping skills to upload my pawn, hoping I'll finally get some rewards
125k RC and a healing curative.
Only one of them took the time to rate and comment.
Fuckin sweet though.
How do I get the fucking Cyclopes to take off their helmets? I heard that they're supposed to do it if you climb their head but I've tried this on three different ones and they don't do shit.
YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING MEEEEEE
Snake? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE
hahah, just woke up. Time for some adventuring.
While the pawn was in your party, 10% of the XP you earn is given to them as RC. If a pawn is higher level than you or lower level than you, they'll earn less RC, so you can't send a ton to a low level player, and a high level player doesn't get much credit for their pawn powerleveling you.
>stand still for a while and one or all of your pawns will stand infront of you and wave at you.
I hate how the music in towns stops playing after a few seconds, is that supposed to happen?
>Why in some situation we receive nothing, though?
Just means they didn't use your Pawn to kill anything. Some people rent them just to see the name of an equipped item or get a better look at their face, etc.
>still no hires
How can you tell? Does it tell you when you load? Or only when you rest at inns?
I hired a fighter from level 36 to 51.
The guy will get a ton of riftbucks.
Master of Geddan, if you're here, know that your fighter pawn was based. Threw me right on grigori's heart using his shield and allowed me to kill it really fast. Fought well everywhere else too.
The game has a built in system where if if thinks someone is trying to game the renting mechanics, it'll penalize them by rocks/0 RC. This penalty is temporary.
Since the system was backed up/Capcom is dumb, some players more than likely triggered the penalty.
>Pawn has been hired 15+ times already
>20-30 ranks away from top 100
You can throw rocks and skulls at them to knock their helmet off. And foreign knives can be thrown to break the armor on their legs/arms, if you're a red pawn that wants to attack the leg to topple them.
>TFW Grabbing the saurian with a warrior pawn
H-Hey guys want to hire a pawn for BBI?
Is there any other way of getting a Golden Idol besides the fucking walk around town for an hour quest? I failed it because I got bored and casted a shield buff.
>reposting from wrong thread
Do pawn rewards ever get better than this?
Dude, I hired your pawn on at least 3 seperate occasions for 5 - 10 level increments, from something like 30 - 80. Sucks that you might not be getting that. If you do get it, awesome.
Only issue is that she would stop casting a damaging spell to re-apply the elemental buff. To my spellbow. That will be firing an elemental shot anyway.
She likes being kicked and thrown around. Whenever i get angry my pawn becomes my bitch
They pretty much don't, no.
>that box at the end of Dripstone Cavern
>Failing Symone quest
Its the easiest quest there is, it takes like less than 10 mins
In other news, why some of the music in the game doesn't loop properly? Like a Gran Soren or Cassardis
That person fucked you, man. Don't purify that until you beat Daimon the first time on your own. If you get a weapon that you or your pawn can use, then it will trivialize the encounter. Kind of like peeking at your christmas presents, there is nothing to look forward to.
>tfw unlock bolide
I COULD use other spells, maybe I SHOULD, but this is so satisfying
Cyclops helm warrior reporting in
She did have lassitude before anons here told me to put ice affinity with holy affinity. Maybe I'll switch back I don't know. I'm pretty sure a lot of people use rusted weapons anyway.
Well I was told to get Bolide off because it sucks in BBI and Maelstrom is also terrible on a pawn. All I'm left with is fulmination.
Would it be terrible to switch to ranger or strider after playing 15-60 as mystic knight?
I don't like magic cannon and it seems as if every fight in BBI hates melee. I've killed a gorecyclops and the gazer, but now each time I try to fight the elder ogre it just enrages and kills me instantly.
BBI weapons can't be used before level 51 anyway. If equipped before that, you use a fuck ton of stamina on normal attacks. I'd recommend that you beat Daimon first. And beat Grigs first as well, so you can re-roll all 3 variations of what it could purify into, then decide what to stick with.
Rusted weapons are amazing, but they do trash damage.
I run Lassitude on my own Sorc and it works out great. Especially when that plus the hired Mage with Grapnel practically freezes the enemy.
that guys talking crap just make sure you change your pawn and yourself to the same type of vocation, save and then purify it, then check on the wiki which other ones you might get (it's given 3 possible outcomes determined by your vocations), if you don;t like what you got and would prefer another one thats better for your pawn or something godsbane and switch vocations to that and purify.
Guts preset is best character.
is it somehow possible to loop the are musical theme?
i especially like the gran soren town music theme but it's only about 90 seconds long and you only here it after you load a save or enter the town. is there a longer version i can mod into the game or just have it looped? this concerns other areas too. the game is sometimes too quiet.
Is it possible to change a pawn's primary inclination through actions? I got scather as my primary inclination on my warrior pawn, but I'm constantly paranoid that if I let my guard down it'll end up a nexus or acquisitor while I'm not looking
At least switch one of your quick casts with Fulmination. You don't need two and it's a fantastic support spell when they use the chain lightning mode.
Affinities are usually a problem with sorcs 'cause they'll stop charging a nuke in favor of buffing you or other pawns.
>Only 1, feeling a bit down
>6 unfamiliar quests
>a lot of unfamiliar enemies
>1 undiscovered location
>5 stars and a veteran's peripat
Someone actually liked my pawn enough to generate 20k rc in gransys going through the main story. He's just the old man on the left.
How do i restore the
black barsfrom the console version?
Something seem nostalgic about them.
I saw a picture with seemingly great build advice on /v/ a few days ago.
I think it was divided in strength focus, magick focus, and maybe something else. White background.
Anyone have it?
Trying to make Koinzell from Übel Blatt, could any of you guys reccomend a good hairstyle for him? I think I got the general look down atleast(basically a shota with elf ears, because that's what he looks like) can't settle for a hairstyle however.
>take a pawn from level 25 to 40
>finish the main quest with it
>it falls off a cliff and dies before I can send it off with a review
I fucked up when making him but then I got attached to it. :^)
Your call, ese. If you beat grigs first, then you get the godsbane, so you can save in front of Olra, switch your pawn and yourself to the same color vocation, see what it purifies into for that vocation color, then godsbane to easily reload your save. Then, do a different vocation color, and so on.
Besides, in BBI, dragonforging is really easy. Cursed dragons have something like a 65% chance to DF gear. Most people farm the sweet pope in BBI 2.0, since he respawns, and he has a weak cursed dragon as a pet.
>finally start playing today
>halfway through get the news pawn rewards are fixed
>have a nap
>fucking what no she's not ready yet
>one private account with 0 RC
>one with 4-star helpfulness and all the quest and monster knowledge
She was level 5 at most and I only played for two hours tops. All she had on her was ingle and anodyne.
I mean I'm flattered they liked her but I didn't even get the chance to train her for anything.
What skills/augments are must haves on a Scather pawn?
Sorry if it seems like this question is asked too much. Have a funny picture.
Tfw don't know if my pawn hasn't been rented or if renting is still fucked up for me
>If you choose fighter at the start of the game your character takes the rusted sword and board instead of the broadsword and iron shield that are on the wall
If there's another game would you like it to take place in current world or be AU like BBI/DDO?
Meloire, Hearthstone and Voldoa anyone?
Affinities do not belong on a sorcerer, friendo. Your pawn could cast a nuke or two and greatly influence the outcome of a battle in the time it takes to buff everyone in your party, you know - and if you haven't noticed, support always takes priority over offense for a pawn.
Old man Loli strider team is working out well. Just hit level 10, Few questions though
>what junk from monsters should i be keeping? i have a storage full of wolf pelts and goblin horns
>How do i find out what to combine? is it just trial and error? best thing ive found was rotten apples/grapes and water from another anon
>Is it a terrible idea to make my Loli a warrior along with my arisen?
>time to crossdress
Truly the best part of playing a male Arisen/Pawn.
Pretty much everything can be cheated in. I probably wouldn't though.
Is there a way I can alter my pawn's stats with cheatengine or something? I leveled her up to ~25 or 30 as a mage before deciding I wanted her as a Ranger, so her stats are all fucked up, her Strength seems super low, it's like 150-200 behind my main characters even without weapons equipped.
>this is the only rent that went through so far
Oh well. At least I got a good amount of RC. The rest is probably lost to the brine.
Level 38 Warrior
Anybody have sorcerer/ranger pawns around level 38 that don't suck?
Am I fucked if I leveled my pawn up to 12 as a mage, but think now I want to change him over to a fighter? He's challenger/util as well, so I'd have to dump a ton of rc on pots too and I imagine his stats would also be kind of shitty
Should I just reroll? Only just getting to Gran Soren
Her tits in HD are not what I was hoping for
Hopefully /ddg/ won't have anything bad to say now.
>Play 1.50m tall sorc loli
>find 4m tall cave troll
>we wittle it down slowly
>he's almost dead
>he suddenly sprints at me, one hit kills me with a dropkick
I almost died laughing.
>4 people used my pawn
>1 did not use it gave it 3s
>1 used it for a little while and gave it all 1s
>1 used it for a good while and gave it all 3s
>last one used it and gave it a 3 in looks, 4 in battle, and 5 in helpfulness
I'm confused, Guess I should have made a loli.
Fucking christmas. Never had a haul like this at once, and I probably won't again.
Of course, I need to hold like 30K RC back so I can rarefy the gear, which leaves me with like 5k. Time to go back to farming RC, since I'm getting nothing but rocks from rents.
Elf Strider. Second Playthrough.
this is why we can't have nice things
I got p good rates on my amazon.
Only 4/5 on appearance though, sadly.
>tfw your pawn makes a good impression to random arisen
I'm not even done cleaning her skills and all that junk and i'm already startin to swim in RC
Just restarted completely after playing Warrior.
Felt like I was swinging around a fucking pool noodle, not a sword. I was hoping it'd get better, but it really didn't. Ran into an Ogre and it took literally 30 minutes of me and my pawns fucking wailing on it for it to die. Ugh.
What vocation should I go for this time?
I just want to feel like I'm actually fuckin' doing damage to the enemies and not just whacking at them with a nerf bat.
Dragon's dogma is quite something, just today there were several different instances where I read "X is complete shit, don't use it", went and removed it from my own pawn, and then read something like "X is great, always use it" shortly after.
Misinformation for this game travels like wildfire for some reason.
So I'm kind of a /lit/fag, and I was wondering if I could roleplay the Aes Sedai/Champion couples from the Wheel of Time books in this game
So basically a female magic user with a male Weaponsmaster partner
Does the post game clear skies glitch still work on PC or was it patched? Permagreen sky just looks awful.
Can you put flame or any element on your weapons?
Any good flame daggers?
I already felt like shit in there, but I figured it'd get better.
This ogre was in a quarry cave outside of Gran Soren.
It didn't do unreasonable damage to me so I figured it was an appropriately-levelled challenge.
Then it took 30 goddamn minutes of hitting it with my squeaky toy for it to go down.
>Few people have rented my pawn
>Came back with 3 stars with no message = It died serving another arisen
>Others give 5/5 in helpfulness and battle
>Looks are 1-4
Fashion Dogma not even once.
Mines a dude too, but his early looks weren't that good, it's why I changed him up.
Well I'm probably not going to get much battle ratings since I have him more of a support role.
>haven't played since last night, hear the pawn ratings are working
>Your pawn has returned from assisting an Arisen in another realm
>5 star on everything
>0 RC and a rock
W-why? I definitely haven't cheated. Unless the other guy was a cheater? I needed that RC badly too.
>my hipster healer slut hasn't been rented yet
is the waifu market just too flooded?
405 magick, medicant/mitigator
>mfw I grab on to a Saurian for the first time
>I sense something... a bird...
or something bigger?
>no one hires my pawn
>Challenger / Scatherer
How do I make her more Lady-like, fampai?
If you're a climber, then make sure you have your rusted weapons. When upgraded to 3 stars or better, rusted weapons inflict torpor (slow) and poison, on all but 6 enemy types. This makes climbing large enemies super easy, since they can't shake you off, and makes fighting shit like drakes laughable, since they will attack so slow.
Similarly, gold weapons upgraded to 3 stars or better inflict silence. This can make even some bosses unable to attack back.
>got past the Beloved's point of no return without realizing
>last max-affinity char I spoke to was Madeleine
MOTHERFUCKER. I'd genuinely restart this save if I didn't already invest 40 hours in it.
I wanted Selene to be the Beloved, not some greedy slut ;_;
stare at lady
Thoughts on my Arisen? Just did my first makeover.
Is there a chart for discipline requirements on all the ranks?
>sifting through pawns
>GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN GUARDIAN
Why do people punish their pawns like this
Will it be a big deal for my stats if i switch from Sorc to MK at lvl 18?
>paladin-like class can't use greatsword
What is this fucking heresy I have my priestess waifu ready and everything but I can't fucking smite like this fucking GODDAMN
Why does warrior feel so FUCKING GIMPED?
Is spellswo- mystic knight any better?
pawns actually get guardian knowledge everytime you spam the "help!" command and idiots do this ofcourse without knowing.
I-I am but I don't know what I'm doing.
Sharper nose and pinker makeup?
Might be wrong there m8, I remember killing Grigori at around level 60 on my first MK run. Plus is the glitch doable with anything other than ranged classes? From what I've read it sounds like it'd be impossible for Fighters/warriors and such to do it.
>Just spent like 2 hours getting enough RC to replace my primary of acqusition because I didn't know it was literal shit
I hope Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator is better because I just wasted a shitton of RC on making my pawn that.
Need a good armor set to round out the look, but I don't want anything too bulky.
Sorry for retarded pose.
Hindsight Sweep is so much fun, how is the BBI upgrade?
No need. Use your rusted weapons to torpor them, climb up, attack a few times every 10 to 15 seconds to refresh the debuff, get into position, then stop moving for a second. Once you stop attacking, you can go into the menu to change to your damage dealing weapon.
Virge of Madness, the best MK mace in the game, when fully upgraded, is only 100 damage behind the best warrior weapons in the game fully upgraded. And you swing faster. And you can buff yours into a fucking dark magick chainsaw where every swing registers 3 - 5 hits.
Golems, anon. Also, try hitting them in the face when they do the laser
Warrior isn't gimped, m80. You can tank basically anything and OHKO trash easy. Mage Knight is also really good, though.
if you have mages and use the "help!" command they will buff you up actually even if you're not in a fight. otherwise i see no use.
>not reading up on strategies and beginner tips before playing
Clearly you need the Trophy Jacket from Bitterblack isle
>use Help! almost once an encounter for over 60 hours of gameplay
>Pawn hasn't even hinted of becoming even a secondary Guardian
It's just people who never adjusted their Pawns after that initial questionnaire.
Help! makes Pawns asses their and the Arisen's health/status and weapon enchantment. They'll heal and/or buff you and themselves.
it's the only way to get your sorc/mage pawns to buff you before battle
for some odd reason pawns only buff 1 or 2 people in the party when you press help once, it's sometimes necessary to press it two or even 3 times to make sure everyone is buffed
Yeah I was thinking that + some shorts and the red leather boots.
It strikes twice. The fun thing is, it's actually twice as strong. TWICE. AS. STRONG. That's fucking strong, nigga.
Makes sense. Uh, not to keep annoying with questions, but to return to my original question, what should I be outfitting my pawn with in regards to Strider skills?
I was looking at the stat gains, and I think it's probably preferable to level her as a ranger for awhile before switching back to Strider though.
The Guardian inclination is undesirable in many circumstance.
Spellcaster Arisen will have to have been attacked (and this interrupted) before the pawn comes to their aid.
Similarly Bow using Arisen will be under attack before the Guardian pawn comes to their aid, meaning any ranged advantage is lost.
This inclination can cause ranged and spellcasting Pawns to interrupt their aim or casting to run to its master's side if the Arisen gets too far away from them.
Even as a secondary inclination, the Pawn will have a tendency remain very close to the Arisen, but will venture away to perform their Primary as needed. This can lead to the Pawn rushing back and forth in some situations, and failing to properly enter battle.
having a support/heal pawn later in the game is useless. it's much more efficient to have a sorc pawn that shits damage and buffs and just give them an ass load of curatives. they heal you and the party faster than they can cast healing spells plus they have powerful offensive spells.
So people dig my QT normie fully dragonforged sorceress. Logged in, slept got 60k rift crystals all 5 stars. Thanks anons!
That's fucking great! I'm having much more fun using it for defense than blocks or shield skills like Divine Defense. I mean, I might as well be playing a sword/bow assassin in stead with how little I use my shield
BUT THAT'S FOR BITCHES.
Don't blame the poor pawn, blame their shit head master.
Where the fuck can I get a decent longbow in mid-game? Looking at the wiki I think the best one available to me is the plain longbow in soulflayer canyon, but I have no idea which chest can give it.
>He actually doesn't learn the game first hand and grow as a player, instead reading up on everything like a lost child.
Should I bother learning certain core skills on pawns?
Like for my warrior pawn I see devastate and eviscerate. Will taking these cause my pawn to spam these abilities inefficiently or something?
Depends how you want to build them. A lot of people will build striders to be climbers or to take advantage of brainsplitter (potentially the highest DPS weapon in the game with the right augments, but takes a while to get the pawn to use reliably).
Over all, five fold and downpour volley are great all around bow skills. Blink strike, thousand kisses, brainsplitter, toss and trigger, and that snare one are all decent choices for all around.
Some people will also build the strider to use the rusted shortbow to inflict the torpor debuff, then attack with their daggers.
So really, it's up to how your want your pawn to perform.
That's how my beard is in real life. I'm a darkening blonde, but my beard and stache are still really bright. The chin hair is too bright on account of the lantern though.
Ok, I'll keep an eye out. Thanks.
If you're going to soulflayer, go further and hit the greatwall encampment. Bring a portcrystal too. The merchant there sells equipment that is a level or two above what Caxton offers.
>mfw those two condemned gorecyclops in BBI got free at the same time
>TFW you finally get access to the entire gryphic set
>and still I hardly get any summons on my Scather/Challenger Absolutely VULT Fighter
>a hobgoblin, formidable opponent!
Or whatever the fuck they say. I mean come the fuck on, we've been killing hundreds of these fuckers, calm down
>my scather warrior pawn rushes in, fucks shit up, never dies, is a murder machine
>my friend's pawn that is also a scather warrior and is higher level always ends up being only a bit better than the random trash strider I usually hire to round out my party
Why is this
>Fighting my ass through Lost City against a billion Eliminators and Drakes
>Death shows up
Why is there no rank 1? Also why can't i hold all these riftbux
lmao not at all
abyssal anguish, ruinous sigil, proper buffed perfect blocks still wreck shit. for most bosses yea you need great cannon but it's absolutely a choice to spam it
Well, I haven't seen that before.
