>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

I'm still not sure pawn hiring is fixed for everyone.
Seems like a gradual rollout.
He says "Sic 'em, boys." You're the memester.
>want to try out magick archer for the first time after 36 levels of strider and ranger
>holy fuck it's so fun
>cool magic string
>able to use daggers which means dodge and double jump
>can wear robes
>deal zero damage
I mean, my magick stat is only like 50 points lower than my hired sorcerer pawn's, what's that all about?

Anyone else scouring BBI ahead of the pawn fix? Just from going through and getting monster drops and finding RC in chests, I have about 120K, not including what I've already spent/wasted on other purification.
Shit, people, I don't know what else to do to make him more like Freddie. Any suggestions?
Magick bows are kind of lackluster on the mainland, they don't scale as well as other weapon types.
Also, if you're going to play MA, you'll want the augment from sorc rank 9 that is +20% magick. No need to play one ofr a while, you can farm the vocation in post game.
>Seems like a gradual rollout.
I'm thinking so.
Of course she died, god damnit.
Well, lost and found allows you to get Selene's next quest, which removes the golem from beneath her house, allowing you access to the rest of the witchwood. In there is a portcrystal, metal golems, and later on a quest that you can trigger to give you the arisens bond, basically max's your affinity with anyone that you give it to.
just lost 1 hours worth of progression cause I hit Retry from last checkpoint instead of retry
>check gifts in storage
>infinite use Ferrystone
What is this casual garbage?
i totally forgot about BBI somehow
but fuck, you have to be level 100 or something to even scratch the demon husbando
i've started so many playthroughs that i just can't deal with grinding out another guy
>try out MA because why the fuck not
>the dagger spells are kind of ass
>bows aren't my thing, but magical ones are neat
>try it out in the catacombs
>realize I'm a literal god against the undead and those goddamn wisps
Why must this be so difficult.
Do dagger spells get better later on? Sunflare is fun, but the snare and heal seem like shit.
>Finally get pawn rented
>Scather/utalitarian with pic related
>guy 1star's everything and doesn't give me anything
She gives me the best ones most of the time though (lightning for cyclopes, ice against drakes, fire against chimera, etc) but every time I've fought a griffin she gives me fucking lightning for some reason.
Heading down to Daimon 2.0 right now. Not sure if I can even scratch his defense with perries. All I have is my silverforged dragon's tempest.
>chamber of absence
I don't think im gonna make it...
WAKE ME UP INSIDE CAN'T WAKE UP
i just remember trying to do it as a level 85 magick archer and none of my shit did any damage. i don't think using talismans helped either. and that guy was somewhat minmaxed too, played a lot of the game as a sorcerer and had the 20% thing
>Decide to roll a sorcerer since it's been a while
>Whole time thinking about how sick nasty cool bolide, maelstorm, seism and gicel are
>Know it's slow going at the start but remind myslef that when it gets good it gets good
>Rank 8 now
>Still doing piss poorly while my strider pawn is tearing the asshole out of everyone around me
Please tell me I start wrecking shit when I'm rank 9. I really wanted this to be as fun as I remember.
>mfw people actually do hire male pawns
Colour me surprised. I'm glad people like him.
Even in BBI, some enemies are easier taken out with shanking. Direwyverns especially, their heart is located on their back between their wings. Use the bow to bring them down, then hop on and apply daggers to heart until a smooth paste forms.
Also, some enemies are immune to magick, like evil eyes and goblin shamans. You'll need to stab them.
Exactly. On consoles it was a neat badge of honor for being a previous customer.
Now all it does is remove the value of regular ferrystones completely.
Mine is Utilitarian / Medicant with Fire affinity since that one is most usefull before post-game and Legion Might staff to auto res.
0 hires. Maybe it's because it's not a loli with Aelinore's dress. Those seem to be popular.
First time you're fighting him? Yeah, he takes some getting used to. He has great defense, his magick has long range, and his shoryuken is almost a one hit kill. Just keep applying pressure.
If you need it, there is a wakestone on the ground near his throne, and tons of harspud sauce on the ground all around the pillars.
>All these Utilitarian primaries
I'm gonna roll 4 of these and see if this shit isn't just a meme.
Well hires were only fixed about an hour ago and they're still barely working so that might have something to do with it. Just stick with Mage and swap it over to Sorc when you don't need the out of combat healing more than you need damage
>couldn't kill the ogre in the mines because I didn't check what fucking magic the pawn I hired had
>could kill the chimera OUTTA NOWHERE
mine is utilitarian / scather, high anodyne with the 15% cast time reduction augment so its worth it, high halidom, legions might, and fire / holy buff.
Someone more experienced tell me how to perfect her, but right now shes doing great at level 50, 0 hires as far as I can tell.
So yeah. And dont forget the majority of people playing are either playing very casually, or dont go on this general or read the wiki, in short they have no idea what they're doing.
Someone want to hire Sahmed?
level 30-31 strider
From what I can tell its useful for everyone, as it will make the pawn fight according to its knowledge, use better buffs etc.
In short it looks like it increases their tactics.
>still not getting pawn rewards
This is not okay.
Almost no one hires male pawns, friend.
Oh hey adi, didn't know you were back on PC as well. I'll give you a hire sometime.
So I just started the game and I'm already experiencing a bug.
I can't cast any spells on Mage. It charges but won't cast. I've tried pressing/releasing every button on my controller.
Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it yet or am I fucked out of caster classes right from the start due to a shit bug?
That honestly sounds fine except for the high anodyne but like you said I doubt anybody knows it's worse when upgraded so don't sweat it. Just be patient the servers are still fucked despite the occasional hire getting through at the moment
You cant decrease the rank of a spell.
Regular Anodyne is 65hp / second for 4.7 seconds cast time.
High anodyne is 135hp / seconds for 6 seconds cast time with the augment, even less with the ring.
When you've played a few hours and you and your pawns have more than 1000hp, the healing rate is just so much better.
I'm not even talking about the most difficult content.
Really, stop spreading lies.
High anodyne > regular anodyne.
>Just got pawn rental rewards
Sweet. If anyone wants a Ranger please give Lillian from the google doc a try, I'd like to know how she's performing. So far she's made good progress with the bow but still likes to climb on things occasionally.
sorc is a fucking weird vocation
it's only top tier when you're cheesing
It's one of my favorite vocations for pawn training just because it's interesting to see what spells pawns use, but until your magic is high you can't get use shit like Levin, Miasma and Maelstrom properly.
Seism is shit, I think. Not enough damage for how long the cast time is and how sporadic the spires are. The only thing I can think of it being good for is Wraiths. And even then Bolide still smashes their shit in. Actually just about every instance you can use Seism, you can use Bolide.
Hey, so uhh... When the bandit leader asked me to test my mettle, he meant for me to kill all of them, right? I'm only second guessing because they were all passive, and the path to the scroll wasn't really all that arduous.
used to get shitloads of rents on the 360, all my pawns were male. the general will probably settle in a few weeks once people start to become more regular
>The only thing I can think of it being good for is Wraiths
>A ground spell that does physical damage
>Good against Wraiths
>A ghost enemy that flies and isn't invulnerable to physical damage
I feel like I just gained some insight into the minds of serial killers.
i'm gonna install a trainer and give myself autonomy and toss all my pawns in the brine
what vocation should i run with a solo run?
maybe i'll finally do that fucking guts run
oh wait fuck you capcom
>Finally look up what inclinations actually are
>Ranger pawn is guardian/scather
>buy potions and change it to challenger/mitigator
>Is doing infinitely better in fights now.
Shoulda looked this shit up sooner
If you HAVE to use Anodyne in battle, then you need to use regular Anodyne so your retard pawn doesn't get interrupted while casting. If you want strong Anodyne you get the ring that increases it to Grand Anodyne. Most people don't even use a fucking healer past level 40. Get gud.
levels 1-20 regular anodyne
honestly after that i wouldnt bother with anodyne at all unless if you've got mettle equipped or you get grand anodyne since it doubles the healing output for only 2s extra cast time
>He still wants to be hardcore but his arisen won't let him
I'm afraid my main is a bit too high of a level, but I'll look for sahmed on my alt. Going to try Daimon 2.0, then probably switch.
Didn't he, though? He looked annoyed all the time.
revised my mason, thoughts?
almost 5am, spent the last 3 hours in character creation
Does he open up any other quests for me if he lives?
B-BUT HE'S A /BANDIT/ LEADER! He basically says something along the lines of "Words and gold won't persuade me, fight me if you dare"
Oh you know, just arisen stuff.
Game runs great but little issues here and there.
We're talking about optimization, and you're being picky about it ? lol
You personally interviewed every player playing the game ? get lost
I just proved to you how high anodyne is definitely better, and you're being contrarians.
I'm not surprised though, I just want people to actually know why its better, thats why I made this post.
Anyone with a brain will discard yours.
Yeah, everfall bosses are guaranteed to drop 2, other enemies may drop shards or whole ones, and even offline Ur drops 20.
When I'm a bit strapped, I just go and sell 20 or 30 for 30k gold each.
>tfw my buddy makes his pawn a healer so he doesn't have to mess around with keeping her alive because she'll just revive herself
I like his pawn and she saves my ass but I think she'd be better off as a Sorcerer.
This sucks. Fighter won't climb the damn thing.
More like the quest is just bad. You would expect that if you show him some balls by drawing your weapons or something he gives you a quest, but nah you can just go jump to the book.
If you fucked the whole questline and she never even opens the shop, it's NG+ only for you most likely. The slutty outfits are pretty expensive anyway.
When you talk to him, he tells you that the only way you'll get what you want is by fighting. You don't actually need to fight him, but it's not hard to interpret that as "murder everything right now".
So annoying you cant do a lot about the draw distance. Game could probably draw stuff half a mile out with no performance issues. Really good port overall, menu navigation's a bit weird though.
That's not draw distance, anon, that's the pawn/NPC spawning in.
They can change renderer settings to increase draw distance and enable higher framerates and resolutions and such, but they can't change base engine things like spawn distance that were originally coded for consoles.
Gicel, Bolide and Seism all have a sizable amount of physical damage but none of them are remotely pure physical.
Seism is shit against wraiths for other reasons, though. Even with their +50% damage taken from Holy.
>spamming b and x to give presents to my qt
>mfw I accidentally attack her
Previous pic was one notch left of this, but it seems a bit too far
Even then thats a < 2 seconds difference. its pointless.
Besides, you dont want your mage to heal you at a rate of 65hp per second when you have 3500 hp and 1400 is missing, in the heat of the battle.
So I have been training my Ranger pawn for about 10 levels as a Ranger myself and it looks like she is in good shape now. Can anyone take her for a spin and let me know how she does? Ill give out ID if I get a reply. I swear im not trying to whore her out. Level 50 by the way.
Hey guys I'm new and stupid, what's a good class/pawn combo for a beginner? I did pretty well killing the lion goat in the beginning, but the moveset I had then seemed kinda lame.
Alternatively, what kind of pawn is popular? How does one maximize the little bastard's usefulness for others?
>dumbass pawn I was going to rate 1 star and give rotten meat jumped off a cliff
WHO TRAINS A PAWN TO BE SO AWFUL YOU KEEP HER AROUND FOR THE SOLE REASON OF GIVING IT A SHIT RATING, THEN TRAINS IT TO JUMP OFF CLIFFS
I'd stay away from making your arisen a mage, it's really boring in the beginning and the stat growths are bad. Pawns can be whatever as there is usually always a need for any vocation.
>Times main pawn was hired: 1
I'm just gonna take a week long break and new game if this keeps going.
Get a trip so I can filter your future posts, please.
Or go get some air or something.
I didnt know about that, thx. Ring I guess ? Or one of those secret augments ?
The devs must really fucking hate warriors. Can I get to that last talisman by jumping on the golem's head and jump attacking?
>tfw noticing a stack of 60 skulls after wondering why I'm heavy for 2 hours
>not rating pawns based on what you actually think of them.
>step outside of Gran Soren to go visit the Shadow Keep where some good for nothing Goblins were running a muck
>as I make my way down the bridge outside the city gates a guard is yelling about a caravan being attacked
>dispatch the goblins no sweat, I'm an arisen after all
>as I finish off the last of the goblins I hear a guard say something under his breath
>a fucking piece of shit griffin swoops down and kills the entire caravan including oxen, cart, guards and all
>as I regained my composure and finally realize what is happening I manage to graze the beasts wings once with my slow two-handed weapon
>griffin decides to fuck off and fly away laughing at my pitiful attempt
>t'was a bird Arisen, be mindful of the sky
hope those guard/caravan folk weren't of importance. t'was naught i could do.
The times I have seen on my 360 and PS3 on Max level using a mage pawn for the entire duration where that low of a cast time would make a difference between them getting a heal off and not is almost non existent.
The HP total you get from High Anodyne means you don't have to spend as much time in a tiny cramped circle. Else you're making your mage cast AGAIN and risking them getting a second time.
I've tried both and High Anodyne is just overall better.... AFTER you get the augments and the ring. Before then? Fuck yeah keep Anodyne.
I've got one hired pawn that does great in fights sometimes. Then he turns around and does stupid shit like dark enchanting me when we're fighting zombies, or using Maelstrom on a drake while I'm trying to climb it. I'm so torn.
how2solo with meme knight?
I can solo as Ranger, Magick Archer, Strider, Assasin just fine. But when i try with mystick knight it's terrible, requires too much setup for buffs and when you're fighting 2 Eliminators and 3 Garms at once, there is simply no room to rebuff and cast shit, especially garms with their knockdown and grab bullshit.
Help me, anons, I want to make a perfect Cromartie Freddie for all of us to enjoy, but I can't seem to pinpoint the exact elements of his face.
What should I change?
It's ideal. In a perfect world it'd mean your pawn will shoot the mages with their bow and scale the large enemy's for heaps of melee damage. But it'll probably be the opposite, thanks Capcom
Is anyone known to be working on HD textures?
Mostly id just be looking for better skin textures
So, what's the deal with these items in my storage? All this random shit like Madeline's skirt just popped up in there. Is this some DLC stuff? Are they alright to use, or overpowered?
>go turn in a quest at the castle
>pick a new one and prepare to get out
>see Feste just lying on the ground not giving a shit
Guess he sleeps there. In a storeroom.
I came across this Watergod's Altar and defeat the cyclops, but it didn't drop any key to the door.
I searched and apparently this place is related to a quest.
Do I need to get the quest for the cyclops to drop the key?
One of these masons is gonna be fucking Quina, might as well be the arisen.
I think i made him too black
This is fucking stupid, it shows that my pawn was never hired and my rank is 24k, what the fuck?
What a fucking mess and what a fucking fucking shit, fuck this game, i don't even wanna play anymore.
arrived at some faggot shadow fort
>tis locked shut
try fucking COMMUNICATING with the nippon programmed AI standing next to the gate
>HOW DOES THE DAY FIND YOU
>HOW DOES THE DAY FIND YOU
That jump can be done with just the standard jump, I got there with my warrior easily when I
went looking for an alternate path into gran soren because I never talked to mercedes to fightt the hydra and the bandits were kicking my shit in the other way
I think the ranking is fucked. This is my ranking even though I literally started last night. Got to level 20 and went to bed.
Why do screenshots look so fucking shitty?
Pic related is at max settings with mods
Honestly, I'm taking my time playing all quests. It's been a while since I've finished it on console, so I thought it would be a good idea to enjoy the game with updated visuals and a nice framerate.
That being said, hard mode is the best way to power level, with eventual periapts to boost your xp/gold when facing stronger enemies.
>your pawn system is STILL not fixed
I want to brine myself
pawn up for rent
lvl 26 scather/challenger sorcerer
ill rent yours if you want, got room for 1 more
lol, maybe the lost ratings are all registering as 0 stars
If that's the case then popular pawns will be at the bottom of the rankings
my pawn was at like 135 or something earlier and 421 a good while ago
i don't think i listed him anywhere, only had a few friends take him along with them
I just want to play
I even restarted and currently spamming rest every 10 mins at the Encampment to see if it works
> Come from PS3
> Always wanted to hire pic related
> PC port arrives
> Her owner has already broken free of the Eternal Ring
Just fuck my shit up.
How do I fire this? I've tried like every button.
I don't know if you miss the tone of my post, but I was just happy about the fact rental is working The ore, top ranting, happiness were just exaggerations, not to take seriously.
>only 2 people rented my pawn
>one of them was a close friend of mine
I should have made a loli...
MA is the absolute cheesiest class. Cleared the fallen city 2.0 of the 2 wyverns while my pawns kept the eliminators busy, then we dealt with those.
As for the 3 living assholes, from this spot (next to where the corpse was holding the moonbeam gem) you can use explosive rivet to single pull them. It won't lock on, but you'll be able to just hit the two in the front. Afterwards, go and aggro the last one and draw him off of the bridge.
>Went into BBi 2.0 at 79
>In the fallen city at 92
I'll hire your pawn, i have 2 free spots. Dont really care for level. Pretty sure ill hook you up with a lot of rc since i haven't killed the dragon yet
fuuuuuuuck it's so boring
Why would they make an enemy you basically can't harm at ALL? Even those ghostly things can be damaged by melee and ranged classes with enchantments. This one? Stumble on it and you're pretty much shit out of luck without the right support.
What skills are you running?
I just started into the wonderful world of Magic Archery myself, and I've found hunter shot to be a shit.
I'm running rocochet hunter, sixfold bolt, and magickal flare at the moment, with Grand Scension, Backflare, and Shadowshackle as my dagger skills. I'm probably going to drop Scension, but I don't know for what
hire mine, as well, haven't had any RC yet.
So I'm thinking the following for my mage
Utilitarian/Challenger with medicant as tertiary?
High Comestion, High Frigor, High Levin primary skills
Holy affinity, High Anodyne, High Halidom
Will I get 1 starred and/or brined?
can I use cheat engine for the Metamorphosis without getting caught/banned/whatever?
I'm never satisfied with the looks of my characters. (and I don't have 5k riftbux for each time I want to change something)
I was going to make drama on Steam forum with this subject, but it seem someone did first than me.
>tfw too late to shitpost on Steam forum
Well, all is not lost without rents. I have this so far, minus what I've used to purify some shit (2 weapon level 2's, an armor level 2, and some level 2 gears). I just can't go willy nilly when it comes to purifying the level 3's, when I get to them.
MA are by far most overpowered shit in BBI.
Magic rebalancer, ricochet hunter and ninefold bolt makes mincemeat of anything.
My basic setup is ricochet, ninefold and hunter shot. Daggers with flameshroud, thousand kisses and magic rebalancer.
I think rental rewards may be coming in over time. I rested twice within a few minutes and got rewards both times, so I assume it was just stuff from when rewards were completely broken.
As soon as you get Exodus Slash and learn how to use it. Enjoy being invulnerable.
Of course you can, at least I did cheat for gold, RC, a bit of level, used metamorphosis about 6x by now and I am not banned. Apparently someone here said to have got banned, I mostly think he did use some kind of weird mod that the game detected as cheat or felt inconsistent for multiplayer pawn.
except, like I fucking said in that post, you can enchant physical weapons to do damage
I can't do shit here, period.
>That's why you carry nuclear type of spells as mage.
Why? How do those help?
I only have maelstrom right now.
I was ecstatic to have found the ninefold bolt ring as soon as I did, maybe 12 or 13 level 1 gears it took. back on 360 I didn't see one for about 2 weeks.
But, now I remembering how much of a pain in the ass it was to purify a blackwing bow. Took me 117 weapon level 3's before I got one. I can't tell you how many fucking darkening storms I purified in a row. I farmed Daimon 2.0 for his chests for weeks, and I got it down pat that I could make it from the shortcut to his door in 12 minutes.
I mostly love to see the normie-tier reactions for a while, it's kind of a fetish to observe people's action.
I can understad, only today it did pop out on Steam for me that DDA was released.
Should I level an assassin or a ranger if I want to play an archer? I'm not really liking the visual appearance of longbows and i'm curious if the better looking Assassin's higher strength growth will make up for not having tenfold?
Because as they are in area, they will probably end up hitting all parts of the golem or so is my guess. So even if you have retard pawns, you can still make it work.
Biggest risk imo is that you get a random value and fuck up your game, not sure if it's possible. But you really need to be stupid to manage this, which is why you always save before using cheat engine.
Basically you can get your pawn banned if you mess around with it to much. A friend of mine says all he did was use it to change his stats to minmax level on his pawn and his pawn data was considered corrupt.
>warrior so rarely get a moment to watch my pawn fight as I'm always up in the ass of something swinging away
>catch a glance of her during a chimera fight
>she's doing roughly twice my damage
>Get to the end of the game
>He's showing me people I've met across my journey to discourage me from facing him
>The duke and his jester shows up
>Don't even hesitate to attack them
I've been waiting a long time for that one to be honest. How many of you also did that because seriously fuck that guy
Does being a mage ever not suck?
I'm level 18 and the best thing i can do is grand ingle and it isn't even that good. all the spells have been lame so far and even sound pathetic.
should i just go warrior or mage/swordsman?
>Set myself on fire
>Climb a griffon
>Griffon catches fire
[maniacal laughter intensifies]
Carrying around my buffslut like every warrior should.
That doesn't really answer my question though. I want to only archer, BUT I don't like how longbows look. I'm curious if I can only archer on Assassin and be roughly as effective.
Just a warning to those who have used cheatengine, be very careful as to what you modify. The rift protection is pretty sensitive. I don't even recall changing that many values on my pawn save some Discipline points, but I got banned from the rift on that pawn. Another friend of mine says he got banned too.
So yeah, don't be stupid.
As soon as you start
>Tfw continuing your swings and attacks as shit hits you, doing tons more damage and knocking them way back.
>Arc of Deliverance
>That feeling of being un-fucking-stoppable
>Make my three Pawns Uti/Challenger
>Two Sorcs, one Mage
>Roll as a Sorc
>Give Sorcs Gicel, Bolide, Fulmination
>First room in BBI 2.0
>Try a trip Fulmination push against greater goblins
>Almost get killed but eventually pull it off
>First room, large open area
>High Fulmination push works much better against still more GGs
>Dispatch Hellhounds with HFB
>Start up Gicel
>Both Pawns join
>Blow mine early for the knockdown
>Pawns finish charging and release both at full power
Okay, I kinda see why people like dualcasting now.
trainerthat lets you set which vocation's stat growth you receive upon leveling up, regardless of which you have active, so eg. you can build a viable mystic knight without playing 50 levels as a fucking sorcerer
good idea or casual filth
I'm not a fan of rebalancer personally. Whenever I tried to have it equipped, I completely forgot I had it, so I got rid of it. Besides, when running solo, immolation is handy for opening chests with maneaters.
When you rescue the Duchess and these normal ass soldiers try to stop you and you tear them down, one after another.
>saved his and his parents' collective faggot ass from eviction
>THIS IS YOUR FAULT, BEAST... DEVIL!
Into the everfall it goes.
>friends on steam still can't see my pawn
I'm 99% sure my pawn isn't even being listed in the rift for anyone at all.
What the fuck, man?
Though it probably doesn't help that she's been pure ranger instead of bitch support
when you buy iraklis
why the fuck does no one listen to me when i tell them to get this shit\
Exodus Slash is also far and away their best skill. BE SURE TO USE IT AGAIN AFTER THE INITIAL DODGE, SINCE A SECOND INPUT INITIATES ITS COMBO
favorite augments for strider pawn ?
She went mage > sorcerer > strider > warrior, level 50 right now, going back to strider.
When leveling as warrior she was very often grabing light enemies, even though I have never done it myself, except ONE time in the very beginning to throw a bandit off a cliff, weird.
Grigori just stole mai waifu and I'm about to go get her back.
What kind of magic should I bring to the final fight? Is Grigory strong or weak against certain elements, and should I take certain status ailments into account?
My Arisen is a Warrior and my Pawn is a Strider, I guess I'll hire a Mage to buff/heal and a Sorcerer for magic damage, but I'm not sure what spells to look for.
