Never played DDDA and am currently a lvl 8 strider mainly going for bow and I was wondering how I best cope with additional magic

I went Strider for Stamina, at 10 do I focus on mage or ranger first?
What's the big difference between sorcerer and mage, does sorc have ele buffs?
What are the best support spells I should go for as MA?

Another thing, I feel like I fucked up my char with giving her around 68kg~ weight from muscles and size, is the stamina penalty rather small and stamina usage just sucks early on or should I reroll?

It's at rank 6 which is pretty early if mage.
Before that all you literally have to do is enchant your staff with the element the enemy is weak against and spam attack, really.
So long as you aren't fighting no weakness bandits before focused bolts then it's fine

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR PIRATED SAVE FOR RETARDS:

Download the save file tool (http://www.tzarsectus.com/tools/DDsavetool.rar)
Extract that into a new folder
Copy your pirated save into this new folder. Pirated save location is appdata/roaming/steam/codex/367500/remote/ddda.sav
Open up cmd, Drag the save tool exe into the cmd window, then hit space, type "-u" (No "s), hit space again, and drag the ddda.sav into the window, and hit enter
The tool should then extract the .sav into a text file
Open the new text file up in a text editor (I used notepad+), and ctrl + f steam, and replace the number in there with your steam64 id (Find your steam 64 id on this website https://steamid.co/)
Save that shit.
Then, With the CMD window again, drag the save tool, hit space, type "-r", hit space again, and drag the text file into the window, then hit enter.
It should repack the text file into ddda.sav
Finally, copy that shit to the retail save folder, which is located in steam/userdata/[numbers]/367500/remote

I just changed class, and am too afraid to go back

So I'm level 17 and have been going warrior most of the time.

But assasin looks very pleasing and I would like to go the edgy dagger build instead of what I'm doing now.

Is my character fucked if I decide to go assasin at level 17?

Completely new to the game, and about to read through the OP stuff now, but just wanted to ask how is the mage/sorceror in this game?

The class I go with is going to impact whether I make an old magician or stick with my current bad boss.

oh well that's because xenonauts is practically a remake of the original games where EU is a modernisation

snipers get a skill that lets them shoot at stuff outside their personal visual range but what their allies can see (which is also a baseline ability for them in EU2 now), and the enemies behind you thing is just patrollers moving around the map and finding you. Unless you're talking about maps where they drop in from the sky as reinforcements? That's annoying at times but it's also 100% scripted so you can tell where they're going to be if you've done the mission before.

I do enjoy the old games as well as the new one, but I haven't gotten round to Xenonauts yet.

it's 500 between the two extremes. it's only 350 between pure sorc and balanced, about an 18% difference. most people recommend going balanced because by focusing on extremes you lose a ton of vocations to gain 18% damage at level 200, and everything is already trivial at level 200

honestly even talking about level 200 is stupid, if people care about minmaxing through content they should talk about like level 80 when they're actually doing shit. even hardmode bbi 2.0 is only hard at like level 100 or so. 200 is way out there

Any tips on Griffin hunting, non-post game?

I've read a map on where its locations are, and put a Portcrystal down North-East of the Knollfigure Hill area where I go to an inn, sleep till morning then port there right away. I hear bird screeching in the air but never see it, I'm assuming that screeching is the griffin.
I saw it once among the trees but failed to capture it.

I know it doesn't spawn if you kill the Chimera next to the Blighted-Manor Rear Entrance, but I just can't track the Griffin down. I just don't see it most of the time.

I found that in my save game.
I'm pretty sure that this is your Pawn AI. He's Util/Medic/Challenger and you see infotype 1-8,there are 8 inclinations, and you can see status values 1,2,3 for Prudent/Tactics/Strategy, those names make no sense and this could be a huge coincidense and this is acutally the hidden AI that you teach your pawn/he immitaes from you.


Also, fuck the guy who said I couldnt unlearn Magick Agent. I already found that

First playthrough here. I switched from Fighter to Warrior at lv.13 because Gatsu love. But it seems Warrior is pretty much just bashing the attack buttons and Fighter looked more tactical for the time I played.

Is this true in the long run or does Warrior have some sweet combos/tactics if I continue with it ?

Is there a way to switch back to normal Anodyne with CE for my pawn?

So I have no idea what vocation I want to play.

Mystic Knight looked interesting with the perfect block and the ability to self enchant. I'm just starting out, I picked Mage since I figured I needed casting ability too.

Except now that I'm researching a bit more, I'm a bit confused.

So I need shit from Assassin, Warrior, Fighter, Mage and Sorcerer.

So I have to play every class to be the best at the one I actually wanna play? Is there some way to level vocations without messing up my stat growth?

so i went back to the shadow fort to grind a bit to max out assassin before killing grigori. i remembered i never killed the drake so i went and fought it.

i was using sword assassin, and actually had a difficult time because of the lack of defense (using burst strike, full moon, gouge).

in the end, are daggers really the only viable way to play assassin because of dodge roll, double jump, masterful kill, gale harness, and invisibility and the survivability they add?

i love using gouge as a skill and it feels so good to use, but it seems like daggers are just stronger in every way...

Yes and no.

Dire gouge is very strong and you can get the counter attack move on sword if you want survivability.

I personally cannot play without double jump and dodge however. But at the end of the day I actually prefer strider for helmsplitter rather than masterful kill.

Gale harness is gay as fuck.

minmaxing is unimportant and you have no "final class." if you "plan" to have perfect stats for such and such a build at level 200, you will already have beaten the game twice over by that point. even level 100 is extremely late. people beat the base game at like 45 and the expansion at like 100

the game is designed to encourage you to play several classes over the course of a playthrough. you do not go "i'm going to be an X" and then "build for X." at most, you pick a broad area (e.g. swordfighting) and then play all 4 classes that can do that at some point

So even with cheat engine I see no way to increase the stagger and knockback damage weapon do. Basically what I want is the worst weapons in the game with the stagger and knockback damage of about 10x the end game weapons. I believe this will make juggling enemies possible due to how their stagger hp regenerates when they are in the air. Someone make this possible or help me do it and I will test extensively.

First off, all that stuff is minmaxing so if you aren't into that don't bother too much because gear is more important, bus you probably already know that.
Sorc obviously has the most magic damage scaling, which you want for magick archer (I assume this is your goal?). Sorcs do have buffs, but no healing or cure magic. You can switch to sorc immediatly at lvl 10 if you wish to go for pure damage scaling. Some ranger levels will give you more stamina, if that's what you want, but again, this is purely a matter of taste and playstyle, because you can also just eat tons of shrooms while in battle. Some people will say you should play 100 sorc level until playing magick archer but imo that's nonsense if that's your first playthrough. You might be burned out before even reaching that point.

As for your weight, as long as you aren't a huge blob of fat stamina penalties aren't that bad. It's just generally low in the beginning.
