Also: The game has some nice idea, but it just doesn't make any use of it.
Height/Weight for example. I played a loli an there was absolutely never any part were I had to go some other way because I couldn't grab a ledge. Likewise there was like one part where I profited from my short height, but there was absolutely nothing down there. The fact that the lantern extinguishes sooner is completely irrelevant as well.

There's also too few monster types. There's like, what?, 3-4 enemy types you can scale? Cyclops, Griffon, Chimera, Dragon. That's pretty damn boring after a while, honestly.

The world is pretty damn boring as well. It's not as huge (which is good) but you still have tons of walking. And most importantly it's always some green forest-y area, which some rare clips thrown into it. Where's is snowy regions? Where is steps? And so on.

Pro are the abilities and magicks. It let's you do some really crazy looking anime shit and the magic is simply one of the best (visually and per effect) in any vidya ever.

Honestly though, for first-time players I'd heavily recommend NOT killing the Griffin before it retreats. Traveling all the way out to the Bluemoon Tower feels like a real grand adventure, plus there's tons of neato loot along the way and in the tower itself. Plus, you have to return there for another quest later, and you find a Portcrystal out front of the tower that you can set down for that purpose.

It is a lot better if your pawns are cooperative, if you have a strider spawn spamming brain splitter on a weak spot and you're jamming 9 explosions in there every second, it adds up and wrecks shit real fast. However, it's not one of the better Magick Archer skills.

Also Fournival, while not innocent of certain crimes, is still of much greater benefit to the kingdom a free man.

I'm not sure who to give my Gold Idol to. For a physical person, is having an elemental weapon any good?
I've played Warrior from start to now, and my Pawn has been Fighter since. I always grab two other Pawns who make up for what we lack, which is magic.

But if you use an elemental sword, I notice it's split between Strength and Magic. Does this mean using say, Ardent Will on Warrior would have diminishing effects compared to just straight strength?

I ask because I'm at a choice on who to give a Gold Idol to. I'm thinking Caxton because he has Ardent Will and Almace, and it'd be nice to not sit around waiting for a Mage pawn to imbue our weapons.
Yet on the other hand, if they just make our damage suffer overall (since the numbers say it's weaker than my sword but has more magic) then I'll just hand it to Madeiline.

Havn't played this game since before Dark Arisen was a thing. Only got half way or so, about to the gryphon fight on top of the tower after THE WIND IS PUSHING ME.

I made a Warrior cause I remember Arc of Deliverance being super awesome and greatswords are best, but my friend was saying something about leveling all vocations for the stat boosts (and he also recommended I start as strider regardless). How important is that? I'm not usually one for doing tons of grinding. Is warrior worth doing, or is it outclasses by ranged vocations?

I think only the damage YOU recieve gets multiplied from a baseball bat into a battering ram, all the pawns take the same amount of damage they would on normal mode.

Hell I mostly play on PC and left ALT just breaks my finger.

I mapped secondary to the right mouse button and primary to "E", that way I have the main attack on left click and the other skills on my mouses side buttons.

Lash seems like a better choice than Arc for a Warrior pawn. Is this the case in your experience? My pawn is able to use Lash often and hits it but seems to be a bit dumb when it comes to using Arc. Because of this I've found my pawn to be a more effective Warrior than Fighter. Been trying to get her to use Downcrack a lot more but she just doesn't seem to care for the skill. I use it almost every time I knock down an enemy.

Q,E,F for instant primary skills
Holding Thumbbutton for Secondary(Bow) and then QEF for bow skills and Leftclick for shoot.
Easy menu handling with 1 hand, CTRL being backwards, Space forward and Q,E for tabs switching (i.e arisen/pawn swtich in menu)

For Mage build I have Q,E,F,Shift+Q,E,F for all 6 Spells, and then Tumbbutton to realse the spell, or hold thumbutton to swtich into aim mode and cast spell until I realease it. Also Leftclick script that interrupts animation incase I want Focus Bolt without attacking once and just want it charged.

All using AHK

before the dragon the fastest way to level vocations is to go fight a lich at night. if you don't bring any ranged pawns (or any pawns at all, really) they will summon an endless supply of skeletons. you can also find a lot of easy zombis in the blighted forest, or goblins near the healing spring south of devilfire grove

after the dragon there's a VERY easy and VERY obvious location that spawns an endless supply of easy mobs without ranged attacks. you can tuck yourself somewhere safe and AFK while pawns get you to rank 9

in all cases things that make a huge difference:
1. DKP ring from BBI
2. DKP armor from postgame quest
3. double XP charms (doubling your XP also doubles your DKP)

these things all multiply so if you combine everything in the postgame you can rank up every vocation super fast

My pawn has a serious lack of magic defense. I see Caxton selling a fire shield which decreases his physical by 20 or so but ups his magic by like 200.

However this probably isn't defenses, is it? The shield has its own strength thing, so I'm assuming it means damage done by the shield?

anyone veteran played did a solo sorcerer run with Caged Fury in the past?
Sounds really intresting to just spam Ingle or something and deal imense damage.
Though, I know that Focused bolt doenst increase the charge, but does it benefit from it? Could I just stack up the charge with some spell and then spam focused bolt?!
