Dawn of a new day, and a released PC game.
>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

YOUR WISHES WILL BE GRANTED
How do I do that? I rested in the inn just before leaving the city. The games doesn't let you reload a specif save, does it? Someone teach me this shit.
Shame, though, because I finished the waterfall cave. And it was nice.
How did I do on my tall tomboy elf archer?
>tfw you'll never get hired because no loli or amazonian
First time playing. I choose hard difficutly and loving it so far. You can die in less than 2 hits! Anyway, the audion in this games is super low for me, for whatever reason. So not cool.
>kinda felt bad after icing the guy in cold blood
>pawnfu tells me not to worry because I did the right thing
first for my arisen is the cutest
>tfw find slutty nee-chan in the overworld
Julien did nothing wrong and is in fact one of the 'most-just' characters in the game.
Mine is not loud enough either. Just turn up your volume.
But the sound balance is shit in general. You can hardly hear the ambient sounds, and if you turn up the volume your ears will get btfo'd by the sound of you attacking.
It's on the mod request list, but it's not here yet.
My pawn is a warrior and I'm a mage. I read that you should probably play as the same class as your pawn, so as to "train" them, if I just fill my class with other warriors will she learn from them?
I have this for you:
It has some descriptions but it's mostly focused around doing combos and such.
>Arrive at Gran Sorren
>Accept Reynald escort quest
>He wants to go to Greatwall
I'ts been ages since i played this game. but IIRC en escort to Greatwall would be brutal at this point in the game. no wakestones. not enough curatives, anyone have a decent level 14 pawn? I promise he/she will see some shit
Well, SHIT. Is there a way I can change my current pawn then? Or make more and cycle them out? I actually really like the character creation, I hope I didn't waste my only other shot on a healslut.
>Fighting a chimera in the dead of the night, can't see shit, but having fun
>Suddenly a skeleton knight joins in, starts shanking everybody, please make it stop
>Then a god damn bandit band bum rushes right into the fight too
The brawl went on for a bit undtil the skellington finally shanked me to death.
STRONK RPOERTIN IN UHWAAH
if by RE you mean resident evil, then thanks; i shamelessly tried to make my pawn look like leon and my arisen look like sherry birkin.
So who here likes ogre?
Also i hope someone made an elf ranger and a tall mage with a big white bushy beard so i can have the perfect party combination with my dwarf arizen!
i'm playing with everything maxed
>Because you can disable pawn talk altogether in the options menu.
But I want to know when he learns something cause I'm teahcing him now, but I don't want to hear that wolves hunt in groups.
Hires and gifts aren't showing up for now, though it seems rankings are working. It should get sorted eventually.
Found the nude mod with nipples. It's shitty but at least it's better than no nipples mod.
What do my fellow chargen autists think? Close enough? More work? Is it even remotely doable in DD's system? The lips are especially difficult. I made her kinda wrinkly cus' she's supposed to be old as fuck.
>pawn returning is broken
>your pawn was probably hired a dozen times by grateful people and you'll never see the results
I've used Elizee too, anon, but no reward system isn't fixed yet
Check her bestiary
I assume that all these Unfamiliar Foe mean that the pawn was rented
>tfw rolling with Guts and Gaben
Too bad I had to ditch them because I'm about to go to the feminist zone.
So if my pawn has entries for unfamiliar foes with a 1-star rating they've actually been hired?
Or does it have to be 2/3 stars?
Cause I have a FUCKLOAD of unfamiliar foes on my cute loli archer pawn
Is there a version of the Into Free mod that doesn't loop like shit?
The fucking Pawn banter is so obnoxious but it seems like sometimes they say useful stuff. Do most of you guys leave the voices on?
Unfamiliar foe means the pawn has knowledge of an enemy that you have not encountered yet. It doesn't necessarily mean they were rented as they could have been wandering around someone's world and encountered something.
Jimothy the Magick Archer has defeated the Gryphon and this time he remembered to drop a portcrystal there
11 hours in and im feelin pretty good
How many levels in each vocation should I get? Going for magick archer but have no idea what I'm doing.
I assume I should get some magic levels, ranger levels, fighter for some HP, stuff like that?
>got about 8 steam requests since I put my pawn up in the doc
Most of us are used to ignoring it as you couldn't turn it off on console.
Stats do not matter nearly as much as you think they do. As long as you have decent magic and enough armor for your skill at avoiding hits you are fine. Augments from vocations are far more important than stats.
WHAT DO I DO
I'M LEVEL 20
DO I FIGHT THIS SHIT
DO I RUN
Well I just realized you can turn off the voices but leave the subtitles, so you'll still get notifications when they say things without having to listen to their robotic voices. That will have to do for now.
>tfw you have a concrete inspiration in front of you yet you still can't make your
Fight it. You can do it my friend, you can do anything! Don't let a small difference in health or damage dissuade you, if you're smart about it at most it will just be a tedious battle rather than one of any real difficulty.
Though I think they're best left until late game if you want certain items dragonforged.
I read somewhere on the interwebz that you can get 'pity rents', aka your pawn never gets hired by other players so the game simulates it from time to time, is it true ?
yes, reward devs for a great game and port, also players pawns vs capcom pawns is night and day difference.
I noticed it as soon as level 15 when hiring a default capcom wizard pawn by mistake, he wasnt doing shit compared to the other player ranged pawned I had or other wiz player pawns I hired later.
>game's main selling point is sharing pawns
>release game on pc
>sharing pawns is completely broken
Well, you can change vocations but that's it.
If you're talking looks, you can buy an item to change it's appearance once, or finish the game and buy one that permanentely stays as an option on your main menu screen.
It's not Wii U that the game has been released recently, anon. This is the more user-friendly version of what >>128762082 mentioned.
is there NO official info about the broken pawn info?
no you can't. you CAN cancel it though as long as you didn't fail it yet and you can retake it. don't worry about failing one, they're really not important
>I read somewhere on the interwebz that you can get 'pity rents', aka your pawn never gets hired by other players so the game simulates it from time to time, is it true ?
Partially true, that was just in the vanilla game. That was never part of Dark Arisen.
The slicked back haircuts poof up too much, doesn't really look the same. I'd go blue but it's not the same tint, and DD's skin color system gives every skin color the same reddish tint underneath, so it looks even worse than it normally would. The no eyebrows worked well though, I think.
Also, you can't give your characters Samara's weird face ornaments so their forehead is just completely exposed, I find bangs are a good replacement for them.
Yennefer (Yan) and Geralt (Gary) faffing about waiting for the thief to come round.
Finally beat the Pawn Guild quest with the tentacles. Either I'm really bad or really under leveled. It's weird how some of the shield bearing bandits kill me in 2 hits but the assassin ones they're with are 10x weaker than them. Great game either way, been playing since release.
Wow we forgot to not completely botch that important thing XD
Capcom absolutely refuses to move the release date forward when it gets leaked, waits an entire week then releases the game literally broken on a Friday so it won't get fixed.
E B I N
People get paid REAL MONEY to make these decisions, to do things 100% and objectively wrong and they actually get sent a fucking PAYCHECK for it.
Is it worth trying to get the 2% chance armours from Everfall chests? I really like them but I was hoping for an easier way
On my way.
I heard you couldn't make femenine guys in this game, but i think this came pretty decent.
Oh, I love this look! Can you share?
Reporting! I'm sticking with a sword and a shield, because I'd like to go for a paladinsque kind of look with my arisen.
>not liking feminine men with bad hairstyle
Boys and girls of every age
Post some sliders on the sliders page
Come with me and you will see
Some sliders from ddg
>tfw have an easier time making feminine males than feminine females
Honestly, I think "lol I made an ugly pawn am I funny yet?" is even worse than the loli/riftslut cancer.
Well that's something, hopefully doesn't meant that the RC isn't getting eaten.
Still slightly blows my mind they managed to fuck this up, like...did they actually fucking test this, or just cross their fingers and not even bother?
>store some 1s and 0s on a server
>send to a client
WOWEEE SO DIFFICULT
mr bowie looks a little tired
>create a badass arisen
>look like shit in cinematic
You're kind of limited to the same few presets but they do the job, seen far too many lumpy females around.
This has about 12 equally bad connotations.
this cunt won't give me the grimoire
should i kill him?
>Your mother is a dirty, dirty, whooooore Arisen
If you attack him the entire castle goes hostile. It's possible, but pretty hard depending on your level. Just explore his castle. He's hidden it and if you find it you can just grab it without a fight.
I've only played the vanilla game briefly on PS3 a whole bunch of years ago and didn't get much enjoyment out of it back then.
I'm going to do it right this time on PC.
I'll be leveling as a strider for some stamina, and then switch over to sorcerer as that's what I want to play as.
What I'm worried about is my pawn's behavior during all of this. I don't know what vocation I should have my pawn be, and I'm also worried about how my switching will affect his behavior.
I don't want my pawn to be useless like the ones I hired back on the PS3, he's gotta be reliable as hell and be doing the things that need doing.
I've read the google doc(s) but I couldn't really find anything relating to pawn behavior when you're switching your playstyle after a good few hours of gameplay.
Could anyone be so kind as to provide some advice? I'd really appreciate it.
Encourages getting past my trauma.
>play DD on PC after getting a platinum on PS3
>remember all the pawns being able to walk around the world and you being able to hire them
>remember a wide variety of different pawns on the PS3
>play it now on PC
>loli pawns and shotas literally everywhere
Never fucking change
I posted them a couple of threads ago. I'll try to add them to the pastebin.
once you understand this basic shit and how to translate it into character traits you have sliderfu on lockdown for every game with a character generator
Usually if you want a massively reliable pawn then you need to give them literally only two or three skills and then train them relentlessly with them. I remember hiring a Sorcerer with nothing but a Rusted Archistaff and Miasma (and I think High Voidspell) and it meant that it only had a limited and one-dimensional purpose, but it did it right in that you couldn't really lose fights at all because Rusty Miasma never really stops being overpowered.
Most people don't bother doing this until later on as inclinations will cover the general necessities, as long as those are right then you don't need more than that.
Everyone's in the same boat right now, i'm just hiring pawns of whoever adds me and just sharing the RC.
People will only start really caring about pawns when they start doing BBI and you can't afford for a Pawn to only be a moving target. That's when things like debilitation immunities, using skills properly and getting stuff like Tenfold Spam or Perfect Block training in is valuable.
Basically don't worry, just get inclinations in and try to avoid teaching bad habits like climbing on monsters before they've been debilitated in some way (usually the big flaw).
Why are my webms so shit?
I'm using webm for retards, high quality and 2 pass are checked. Have bitrate set to 800 and audio is off, and it's still shit.
Also if I let it automatically pick a bitrate based on the size limit of 3MB it doesn't use all of the 3MB making it even worse.
So apparently I should've done a quest called "Lost and Found" before I "Lure of the Abyss"
How bad is the damage?
Also how are you supposed to know this, Lure of the Abyss is the quest the game immediately directs you to once you go through the gates of Gran Soren and Mercedes leaves
Which one of you fags is this? And her disgusting boobs are too small
>Reading the artbook
>All that planned-but-cut content.
>Fleshed out stories
Etc etc, damn. There has to be a sequel!
Until we can get RC to buy elixirs and set up inclinations properly, getting hired by other people will always fuck up your inclinations, no matter what you try.
Mine is set up to be Challenger/Mitigator, and there's already a sneaky fucking guardian as tertiary popping up every now and then.
I know for sure my mage pawn is challenger ( she fights the strongest first, says it often )
is that ok?
I dont know how to be sure of 2nd and 3rd inclinations by using the chair though, the question doesnt tell me much.
>game's main selling point is sharing pawns
I dunno mang, all I heard about the pawn system was that it was waifu town and pawns were annoying speech-spewers.
I didn't pay for pawns, especially not yours.
It's kinda bad, but not game destroying.
Most people are retards as though they'll restart the game to do Lost and Found but then not even complete the Witch Hunt mission which is the very reason you even bother with Lost and Found in the first place anyway, as its that mission which gives you all the important stuff.
Some people never even found the Abbey either.
Here you go. Be sure to adequately
cuddlehim on your adventures.
Oh that guy, I acc skipped his content and just thought escorting the cart was more important
I kept on hearing reaching Gran Soren as fast as possible and switching to assassin was the best thing, didn't know the game is "staged"
Might as well restart, only lvl 16 anyway.
I'm guessing I missed the With Hunt quest too, was it before the cart escort?
>mfw that BBI imprisoned cyclops is a dwarf compared to the giant monsters planned
>we won't be fighting monsters that can piss on the highest bit of bluemoon tower for another few years.
>I'd go blue but it's not the same tint, and DD's skin color system gives every skin color the same reddish tint underneath, so it looks even worse than it normally would.
I'm vaguely certain you can buy a good blue skin tone from Jonathan for a stupid ass amount of RC
Since I didn't like any of the ENB/Reshade setups that people keep posting here, mostly due to waaaaay too much blue, horribly oversaturated colors, the broken AO, more bloom on top of already bloom-ish game and other such things that annoyed me.
I decided to make my own preset that's more subtle. The focus was purely to remove the olive tint that the game has and increase saturation a bit but not to insane levels.
Here's a comparison album:
Download link here:
Feel free to add it to the pastebin if you so wish.
>tfw I've restarted twice already
Anyway, r8 pawn.
>Ogres are actually a race cursed giants
>Evil eyes are eyes of dragons slain by Arisen
Dragons dogma truly has the deepest lore that was never implemented.
who here just exploran?
>I wonder how far our journeys will take us
This might sound super stupid but... do you ever get to edit your pawn again? I was playing with super low volume and I guess I picked a fucked up voice and it's driving me crazy, but looks wise, she's perfect.
i like how they gave me DMC3 lady's hair and face scar
i am pretty much set for this game
>Drakes/wyverns/wyrms are actually dragons that have taken that shape according to the vocation of the Arisen that turned, (red/yellow/blue).
Man, Grigori must've been a super badass.
Christ, this is why you ignore people in /vg/ as they say the most retarded shit.
DD is not a game that punishes your class/build decisions but it DOES let you miss sidequests, so because of someone's advice you did something pointless and in exchange lost something meaningful.
What's more the advice is even more dumb because you don't even need to go to Gran Soren to change classes, you can head to Bitterblack Isle instead which is available from Cassardis. So it was double pointless.
It's your first playthrough - play it at your own pace and if you make mistakes then fine, but do it on your own terms, not because a retard gives you shit advice.
>Oh that guy, I acc skipped his content and just thought escorting the cart was more important
Also how are you supposed to know this, Lure of the Abyss is the quest the game immediately directs you to once you go through the gates of Gran Soren and Mercedes leaves
What are we going to start calling people like you? Neo DD?
If you want to gain dcp without levelling try the cows in front of gran soren. If you want to level too then find a boss enemy that respawns after sleeping in the inn and go there every time. It's more about finding a good route that takes little time to get into fights.
>encounter massive troll thing
>pawns are freaking out and screaming "it's way too strong! there's no way!"
>troll immediately runs and jumps off the nearest ledge, instantly killing itself
the license expired, they will never come back
Eyes 21: Vertical: all the way to the left, size: all the way to the right, color: last blue tone starting from the bottom
Eyebrows 14: Vertical and distance between them: all the way to the right, color: a dark blue
Nose 17: Vertical: One up starting from the left. Size: the smaller posible
Mouth 27: vertical slider: med
Make up 12: choose a light color, the one in the third row starting from the bottom, second form the right
You can mess around with the eyebrows and the nose if you want to a chieve a more "trap" character. Make him slim, muscles are optional.
If you don't want to level up, killing rats/bats/spiders, basically any critter is your best bet.
If you also want to level up just play the game and you will get both.
The most efficient place to farm for DP is at the end of the game
Well I have a habit of skipping dialogues (seriously though, most RPG's don't have valueable dialogues to begin with anyway) and while I read pretty much everything so far when that guy came up I was doing research on stuff and simply smited him with hammering "E" just to get rid of him
Lure away the ogre. Hope he falls off. Then save, and take out the bandits one by one.
hah, ive been playing over 20 hours, and ive just deleted my most recent save, going to go to sleep now and think on it some.
Problems i have include things like the fucking moniker system. Why is this even a thing on PC version? I feel like i have to make a name that goes well with the available options, or else just reside myself to playing one of the built in names. And making it all work well with my pawn is going to be a hassle too.
At least im getting pretty good at making nice female faces, some of the head shapes are really good if you mess with the other options some. Some faces look really bad unless you mess with the eye placement and all of a sudden they are qt
sure was difficult
Now that's just strange. Most games follow a tiered enemy system the farther you go in, the more dangerous the enemies, any player who thinks about it will come to the conclusion that if the bandits are kicking their ass, then the things deep in the witch woods will definitely kick their ass.
That actually isn't such a bad spot. There's even a place where you can sleep. Enemies are hard there though so be prepared. I mostly follow the path around gran soren. I take the exit near the farming fields in the city then:
>Take down the lizards near the water
>cross the road and take out the cows
>go towards the hill and take out the wolves and goblins
>go towards the 2 houses near the mine entrance and take out the goblins and spiders
>walk down the hill and take down more cows and goblins
>cross the river and take down the bandits
>go back into the city using the entrance where you enter the first time.
>sleep at inn and repeat.
Can you use cheat engine to spawn in items and armour?
It's hard but not impossible. I did it as a Strider who didn't buy any weaponry or armour because I didn't know whether money was plentiful or sparse and also didn't invest in a single skill because I didn't want to "waste" the discipline points. If I can manage it like that anyone can do it.
How did your dates with Symone go, lads?
Anyone else got this bug?
In the tunnel, with the ogres, theres some switches that needs to be stod on. I do that, but the gates never opens? Checked online, and not sure what to do now.
And, some of the bonus items we got, should I just sell the monocle for 300k? I will be playing a sorc a little later on, but that kind of cash really help out at the eariler levels.
I know, which makes it all the more infuriating. Im having to suffer over the slightly chance that someone, somewhere, may see it, some day, and i need to make sure it looks ok.
Its like how i make sure to select the base body in the basic options, even though im going to totaly start from scratch in the advanced options, just on case the starting body you begin with is recorded somewhere, and might someday be seen somehow by home invaders stealing my hardrive or something, i dont know, i dont even fucking know but i have to do it, every single time.
10/10 golden idol get..!
Of course I'm going to be delicate with my beloved.
When i got to gran soren just now i saw i had a lot of good armors in the storage
I dont remember this on ps3 version, some of the armors are just OP to get so early judging from the stats
Yeah, we all stand on it, for a long time (way longer than the youtube videoes I checked). There are just these clicking noises long after the button is all the way down.
I know that feel, I feel it too. Trying to hold out until rift shekels are fixed.
Shitty thing is, I'm not sure my pawn would even get hired if the reward system wasn't borked. Feels bad
>Playing on hardcore difficulty
>almost kill it
>Drop kicks and one shots me out of nowhere
I went fishing with Rook the moment I got him. He was the bait. Long story short, my pawn's gone before I even left the village.
The intro quest still wants me to bring him to some encampment. Is there a way to get him back for it? How long before I get a new pawn if there isn't?
i went mage from 1-10, then i've been MK till 26
not great stat growths but meh, good hp though
>it is a challenge to make a female in the medium weight class with out making her a 7 foot tall muscle woman
Medium and maximum large are the best weight classess by the way. small, super small, and normal large are a shit. Not efficient weight breakpoint optimization ratios :^)
I've removed the Reshade mods from the pastebin and linked to nexusmods at the bottom instead, now that there's actually a page for Dragon's Dogma. People would probably prefer that anyway.
Nice mod by the way.
>What vocation makes the game the easiest?
Assassin. Highest str growth in the game. Enjoy killing bosses in 3 minutes or less once you're level 200 with good equipment.
Alternatively, magic knight with good stats.
>Which is the most fun?
Different strokes for different folks.
I like climbing on stuff the most, so strider/assassin is my kind of jazz.
Yes it does, hugely.
Go buy the potions to change her to some variation of scather/mitigator/challenger/utilitarian. You can change her inclinations through gameplay, but it's easy to fuck up if you don't know what you're doing.
Does assassin get better the longer the game goes on? I'm around level 30 and, while fun, my abilities and damage are kinda lackluster. Thinking about maybe switching over to warrior sooner than expected unless it get more interesting.
Currently trying to follow the guide which explains how to edit music files and running into issues with hex editing bgm.stq.
Looked up the location and edited each of the values to what it should be, everything seemed to be as expected.
However, when trying to load it after repacking the whole thing, it just ends up hanging up.
Am I missing something? Is there some value I'm inserting wrongly? Do I have to use .wav files for conversion into .ogg/.sngw?
Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm guessing Grigori was a red class.
Did anyone ever speculate what a yellow/blue The Dragon would look like?
Also, what about hybrids?
Except hybrids never fail so they never become dragons
Where the fuck has Jasper gone? I need to talk to him to finish the land of opportunity quest, but he's nowhere to be seen. The wiki says there's a bug where he doesn't appear but saving and reloading should fix it.
What's the fastest way to get Sorcerer to vocation 9? I hate this, I feel so slow. I need those augments though.
>spend an hour and half escorting Mercedes Benz
>suddenly super tough bandits that hit like sledgehammers
>Mercedets get knocked out and up
>oh whatever, keep exploring the aread
>suddenly chimera and a squad of lizardmen
>get lightning bolted to death
>find myself back at the gates of the town where the quest started almost 2 hours ago
Why is my mage pawn ALWAYS interrupting her own casts to jump around? Like Ive been fighting these bandits outside the fort by witchwood, and I haven't seen her cast successfully more than a few times, even when I stand close to her and taunt / attack the enemies that go towards her she just interrupts the same spell many times in a row and does nothing..
Can I make her be less retarded? Is Acquisitor just completely inept at being a caster? Pls..
>Assassin. Highest str growth in the game
Is the shit everything else really worth it though?
You can end up with ~750 strength at level 200 while still having 300 of each base defense and like, 4k hitpoints and stamina
assassin builds always look so fragile
>tfw you think you just married a loli witch but you come from a long line of paladins and your mum is totally kill you
So what's this about pawn returns being broken?
Wyverns are striders, Wyrms are mages, and Drakes are fighters. Considering that Grigori looks like an overgrown drake, I imagine it wouldn't be hard to assume what the others would look like.
the AI prioritizes its own safety above all.
this means it will interrupt attacks to block or roll.
since mages have neither its only option is to jump out of harms way.
keep the heat off your backline and she will work fine.
>all these loli pawns
Big girls only please, no womanlets allowed. Don't even think of applying unless you're 183cm or taller.
post steam ids?
add me famaroos
try outside gran during night. undead spawn there rapidly next to the river and the torn down buildings. best way to get the solar armour as well.
>in battle where i'm supposed to run away because the enemy respawns infinitely
>order pawns to "come" as i run away
>they stand there and swing at the tentacles or cast spells and repeatedly get killed, never coming towards me
what am i supposed to do? if i leave them to die, will they respawn? will i lose the loot on them?
You don't get RC from renting out your pawn. You don't get rewards. Rating system doesn't work either.
And of course the game got released on a Friday so we won't be getting a fix until Monday (if we're lucky).
Gobbo tunnels under the Shadow Fort. Only SS characters can fit inside of them. They're dropping lots of gold because it's on Hard mode, which makes the game super ez because all that cash lets me buy as many empty bottles as I want.
>looking for a healbitch pawn
>probably 80% are assassins
>Had to restart my game 'cause I got vanilla DD for XMas and wanted dat Trekwear
>Just beat Ur-Daimon
Feels good to be back to where I was. Could use some Riftshekels though if anyone's on
You can just wait up at the tops of the tunnels to kill them, that's just their spawn point. Aside from that the tunnels just have one chest in them and allow you to burrow up into some of the tricker-to-reach areas. It's not a big deal. The goblins even stop showing up after about 2 minutes.
You aren't suposed to actually fight them by yourself
It's part of a quest and you have to open the main door and fight them with a bunch of knight (nobody does that because that's lame :^) )
The balista lets you break their tusks and make them drop their club easily though
I am a basic bitch
>tfw your six pack looks like a hairy stomach
>mfw forgot pilgrim charms existed
power leveling time
is mitigator/utilitarian/acquisitor a good inclination setup for a warrior pawn? im especially unsure about acquisitor, or what to take as tertiary inclination. i'd also like to know how the primary/secondary/tertiary status affects the pawns actions, does it just mean that he'll use tertiary actions a lot more rarely than primary, but he at least does them from time to time?
So many people chose fighter women for pawns or arisen, myself included. I almost want to restart so I can make my pawn a female mage or strider. I thought women were popular in those roles.
Nevermind the fact that 98% of pawns are female anyways. Maybe a male mainpawn would turn out okay.
No. This game don't need more cancer.
based on what ive read you can get pretty tanky agaonst things that are not auto-one hit kill abilities. having 4k health and 400 defense means you can take like, many times more damage than something with 3k health and 200 defense, or something
