>Pawn hasn't been hired yet
Are you guys only interested in little girls and ogre women or something?
put it in your ddda folder
>home key or McFX.cfg to toggle AO in v2. for performance: disable the depthbuffercalc in Common.cfg for a few FPS if you don't want depth effects(AO/DOF).
>ENB is almost ready to start using, Boris is adding detailed shadows and skylighting or something then he'll release the loading screen fix.
Reminder that there are several Notice Boards in Gran Soren with different quests
>mfw MK cannons don't bring the fps below 10
it's currently bugged m8
does that first skill "deathly arrow" slow or freeze time? it seems like it.
please, i need to know... i really, really need to know.
I wonder if Itsuno knows how much love this game gets here
Did it do well in Japan?
>kill our first chimera of the new cycle
>blue still reckons it's a waste of time
I missed that arrogance.
To think i thought mason was just a fruity nigga at first then it turns out that hes true to his blood an africanized killer bee.
>tfw you literally have the most attractive male character ever created
Seeing that the recruitment isn't working correctly, post your pawns for judgment/rating
Ain't it the truth?
Fucking pawn shoots a cart full of explosive barrels along the road then complains that "The Duke could stand to build new roads". Or dives in the fountain to pick pennies and yells out "Take care not to get soaked!".
You just can't take your eyes off of your pawns for even a second.
That armor just looks great in general
because I can't equip the king's belt
Question for all of you: has your pawn been returned yet?
I have yet to hear of anyone getting their pawn returned, rated, etc. and am wondering if I've only seen isolated cases, or if the sharing just quite isn't up yet.
>doing the quest for the grimoire thing from the thieves den
>Find the woman thieves place
>Try to talk to the leader
>She fights me
>I nuke her with the barrel outside her area
Did I fuck up? The quest marker disappeared.
Can we all agree that Hideaki Itsuno is one of the most underrated game directors around today?
>Devil May Cry 3
>Capcom vs. SNK 2
That's character action, action RPG, arena brawler and fighting games. That's a lot of versatility.
Add me so I can use your cute pawns http://steamcommunity.com/id/illuzionofdeath/
looking for someone to rent my pawn, so i can buy potions to get rid of its aquisitor inclination. secondary inclination is utilitarian.
i thought it's possible to look up pawns in the rift via pawn name and level too
I've been fighting this thing for almost an hour now. Every time I get it below this much health it picks up a pawn and heals itself back up. I'm trapped in hell.
Finally got around to unlocking the ranger. What kind of ungodly fucking draw weight does a bow need to have in order to turn an arrow into a bullet? Cause I even recognize the sound they used for the dire arrow, from my days of CS. I just can't quite place it.
Also, this is soooooooo fucking fun. Decided to test my new shit on some goblins. Sent half the little bastards into fucking orbit.
the grimoire is in a chest atop the fort and fuck helping bandits
But when you climb, you need to think outside the box of what most games would let you do and expect you to do.
So I model this after Ciri from W3. What do you guys think?
I hope you enjoy the absolute ranged powerhouse that is Ranger. Just-released Reaper's Arrows literally shave entire health bars off bosses when you're at higher levels, and Tenfold Flurry turns most things into a fine red mist.
Ranger is also really, really good at ailment application thanks to Corkscrew Arrow.
>Opening those sarcophagi
>Cutscene for that one nigga that drops the lever like "woah watch out this skeleton gonna fuck you up son"
>As soon as cutscene ends he gets bullied and gangraped into a corner by 2 fighters and a strider spamming light attacks.
God I love this shit
i can't choose between magic archer or mystic knight please help
>taking a fucking photograph of a computer screen
Okay I know this is one of you. Announce yourself.
>it only heals while wearing a towel
that's some dedication
Does anyone have another link for the FLYING INTO FREE mod? I can't use the OP's link.
The game is very unforgiving, there are many issues that the game does not fully address to new players such as myself. Just to give a brief list...
1. There is no indication of enemies that attack in packs
2. There is no hint of what enemies are weak to
3. The game never tells you if what you are buying is a masterwork
4. Never told where all the roads lead to
Going into this one should abandon all delusions of control and you'll find one of the best RPG's that should have been on the PC years ago.
That's the button layout when it detects a gamepad that isn't an Xbox controller. It numbers your pads buttons.
I wish there was a way to disable detecting it so that PS3 button mod in the pastebin would stay up. It flickers between.
>press enter when choosing a menu item and not LMB
That did it. Thanks.
>there is no hint of what enemies are weak to
Well, some pawns shout it all the time, saying things like "GOBLINS ARE WEAK TO FIRE!", "SHOOT LIGHTNING TO STUN HIM!", and some shit like that.
Filthy friend collector. I'm keeping my loli.
oops, forgot pic
also what do you guys think?
>tfw leveling as strider just to get pilfer and master thief and steam me some rare armors
At least read anon. People are saying pawn hiring is bugged. I'm asking them to clarify.
Do hired and returned pawns give you an alert when you rest (but no RC/gifts), or is there simply no alert at all?
>thief runs right into me
>combo him once
>knock him down then pick him up
>quest over in about thirty seconds
i should also mention that i want to mess around with a sorc first because they look pretty fucking cool. i don't plan on going full minmax mode because usually i spend more time planning a build than actually playing and it hurts my head. Logically though i guess sorc would actually be a nice vocation pre magic archer so there is that.
What the fuck did they do to the first ogre. That nigga was never this fucking hard
nah mostly just gothic look to someone's template and a tribute to David Bowie with the eyes
I just used the cheat engine script for secret metamorphosis...will other players still able to summon my pawn is it fucked like in PS3 where you used a save editor then your pawn is not hireable
Would you hire this mage to carry your weight, buff your weapon and heal your wounds?
When you rest at an inn and someone has returned your pawn, what should happen is you get a screen showing how much RC your pawn earned and their rating/comments/knowledge, then an option to retrieve gifts.
But the timing on this isn't instant, and in this case it looks like the system is backed up or something. When this happened on console it'd clear up eventually and everyone would get their stuff.
My main playthrough when the game first came out was sorcerer to lvl 80 and then Magick archer from then on. It is the most fun class in the game, but if you don't do some assassin levels or something, you end up with pathetically weak attack stats. It's only really a problem against the Ur-Dragon though.
I hope this is what you were thinking of
I play way too much Magic
>run literally halfway across the entire map for this fucking griffin quest
>getting through this archer infested canyon
>golem kills me have to start over
this is legitimately going to make me drop the game
i spent hours trying to get DD running in Wine on a mobile GPU
i succeeded, but it's not playable. i think it could be if you had a very high-power laptop
i'm running it really well on a barebones phenom with a 760 GT. it's a toaster game for sure
My Strider pawn uses his bow almost more often than melee. I have Fivefold Flurry and Downpour Volley slotted, should I remove either of them? Or do I need to teach her?
Inclination is Scather/Challenger/Pioneer.
You're going to drop the game because you don't know how to save?
>I have never played MK outside of a cannon spam build
It's like you hate fun. Mystic Knight is stupidly fun when you learn to perfect block and later start fucking EVERYTHING up with Abyssal Anguish and High Brontide. You become a Sith Lord with those two
If the first thing you did when you encountered a wolf or a bandit was shoot at it, then thats what your pawn does
Listen carefully when your pawn says "ive learned a new way to fight their ilk" whenever you attack an enemy with something different
Sherike fag, if you're seeing this we're going to best buds from now on.
Guys help me choose, this shit is hard.
Git gud. Or do side quests and level up.
remove fivefold flurry but keep downpour, it's actually one of the best pawn skills in the game. there's a ring in BBI that increases the # of shots in downpour to 20, and pawns that can aim it do insane damage
What class are you playing as? Did you find new weapons? Did you engance them?
>there is no lighter green unfortunately
I was saying make it dimmer. Her eyes are so bright green they are literally glowing, like that first time I played Oblivion and made my guy's hair neon blue.
Post hard mode theme songs
>decided to give hard mode a try with the pc release
>enemies hit pretty hard
>first sword and board bandit I fought one shots my whole crew in one swing
I'm lovin it.
I'm really shit at making characters, how does she look though?
If you die does it set you back to your last manual save? Because when I tried to reload (without dying) it started me back at the inn instead of my last manual save.
>start on Harde Mode
>save after every single encounter
>save before every single encounter
>a whole fucking in game night of nothing but wolves
>only manage to fit in a single save
They warned me about packs, but I didn't listen...
>decided to give hard mode a try with the pc release
>enemies hit pretty hard
>ox cart kills me if it runs over my toe
Everything after that's been great though.
If only you could use staves and swords as Mystic Knight. God knows I suck at perfect blocking.
The timing for PBing is actually pretty loose, at least compared to stuff like Just Guarding in DMC4. There's even an augment that widens the window for Perfect Blocks to help you learn the timing.
This duke choking the duchess quest ruined the game for me. I've spent half an hour trying to get her panties but now my only save is with her dead and me in the dungeon (which apparently only costs 5000 gold to get out of) and no one seems to care I was found in the same room as a dead duchess.
My friends were all using my Pawn for hours, they all sent him back when they went to bed and I just rested to resync.
I didn't get a single crystal or any of the gifts they said they sent.
The one major drawback of Mystic Knight
Walking around with a dope-ass greatshield on your arm would look rad; alas, MK is stupidly fun if you don't go the "spam Sigil+Cannon forever" route
I love the shield on back thing everywhere except in the instances when you're getting mashed on like in this webm. The animation is just too slow.
>If you stand there like a retard he actually kills her
I actually didn't know this.
>Kill BBI final boss
>Walk out of the room and final cut scene plays
Has anyone had this problem? I already verified the integrity of the game cache
>Doing Griffin's Bane
>Had to go to the tower
>Running across the bridge to the second gate lever
>Goof and make a mistimed jump
>Fall into the water
>Brine spits me out next to the lever
Brine and Arisen confirmed for BFFs.
>tfw you hire a pawn that looks great on paper but has a chipmunk voice
I want to throw this bitch into the fucking sea but she's the only mage I have right now
This kills my framerate so badly. I don't know why my game is running so poorly. my processor is only being used at a 50% ratio, my gpu only has 1 gb of vram but only 300 mb's are being used apparently and the game runs at typically between 23fps-30fps with only the texture turned to high. I don't expect 60 fps by any means but I've noticed that no matter what I set the games settings to it seems to run the same so I don't understand if it's a performance issue or not.
I did that when I saved her, but I only got bags of coins from under her bed, so I thought maybe if I just watch I could stay in the room, but no I got arrested for no fucking reason.
I bribed myself out and now it has completely ruined my immersion.
The Duke is like "Talk to my secretary if you want a quest bro ;-)"
Now I've learned that recruiting doesn't even work so I might as well start over when they got that sorted out.
The pastebin has some decent mages. If you're below level 35, I recommend Satiah. Been using her since she was level 14 and I've been returning her and rehiring her to renew her stats.
>head back to the village
>"we'll pass the encampment, this way"
>turn around a few moments later and see all three of my pawns running off into the distance
>they suddenly teleport right into my face
not sure what to tell you but yeah reshade has a performance hit. You could use an older reshade version but I'd just stick to sweetfx if I were you.
You could copy my sweetfx settings but it might look weird without the other stuff. lift gamma gain is important though, it's how you get rid out gray filters for example, so try it out.
BROWN FUCCBOI AND SMUG WOLVERINE: VIOLENCE/CHIVALRY/VENTURE BROS
only 3 attack skills instead of 6 and very difficult to use - fun as fuck though, so don't be discouraged, unless you hate being challenged
select a custom filter mate and you can summon 6 pawns of your own choosing from over a 1000
Because they are, unfortunately.
There's a lot about them to love, but their skill set is limited. Why do you think ever Warrior player rages about the three skill limit? If they were more versatile it'd be fine, but three slots really narrows their focus in a bad way.
I finally found one and it was the most weeb thing I have ever seen. Bright purple hair with giant bug eyes. The voice makes me want to rip my ears out.
What the fuck is wrong with you people.
Was this also on the old console version? If so, they could have fixed that.
At least three nukes (I suggest Fulmination, Bolide, and Gicel), High Voidspell, a quick spell for sticky situations (I like Levin, but Ingle or Comestion work too), and a sixth skill of your choice. Those are my preference, anyway. You're welcome to experiment for yourself.
Can anyone please check if they have a folder named 'id' in the nativePC folder, because I don't. It's looking like the only way for me to be able to play again is by starting a new save.
>play an archer
>during some fights there's so much glowy shit on the screen I can't even see what I'm shooting at
>he passes up quick dragonforging
so rewards are working?
we need to test and see if high comestion actually does more dmg. description just says it makes the wall longer and i'd prefer having regular comestion so pawns fire it off faster
So /ddg/, What do you think? Any suggestions or changes I should make?
i'd like holy affinity, comestion, and bolide. after that it's a matter of training. obviously you want the other elements in there but the most important thing is that
1. they cast holy affinity on me
2. they use comestion most of the time, and
3. they spell synch bolide if available
>on griffin tower
>griffin lands on the bridge right on top of me and destroys it
>fall down several hundred feet into the water
>brine bro puts me back up in front of where the bridge was destroyed
So the game was running perfectly until I just got my main pawn, now whenever I attack the game freezes and stutters at sub 1 fps for a few seconds then goes right back up to normal.
I'm not running any old hardware and before I got my main pawn it was running perfectly.
Honestly I rarely ever do escorts like that. Best thing is to find out where they want to go, get to that location by yourself, stick a portcrystal there, then go back, start the quest and warp there.
>man BBI isn't so bad this is pretty easy
>run into the Eliminator in the cramped fucking stairwell of the Forest of Remembrance
>You should be able to take on chimeras around level 10
I can, easily. The problem is fucking moron NPC who saunters around with their dick out who dies instantly unless I keep the healer up 24/7 and even then it's a pisstake.
Too late now fampai, I'm all the way out in the frontier at level 15. We souless grind now.
tfw no one wants to hire my "shota" pawn
>fighting griffin on blue moon tower
>I'm warrior main pawn is sorc
>down this faggot griffin
>charge my fucking arc to max and let er rip
>pawn was apparently charging up brolide at the same time
>griffin fucking dead instantly from half health
holy fucking shit that was incredible
Don't know if anyone can help with this, but I bound light and heavy attacks to mouse 4 and 5 respectively, and now my shift button is doing the light attack as well
Can anyone less retarded than me offer some insight?
Looks pretty good, still gotta do some tweaking
Is this shit at night normal? Just started noticing it and it's kinda annoying.
This. The shota pawns are the most ugliest things alive. Plus a lot of people think you're a pedo if you get one. Yet if you get a good looking loli pawn then you're good. I always get loli pawns, especially the ones that are made with high grade loli care. Notice how the good looking and best pawns are lolis.
Shota pawns=Spoiled milk
Loli pawns=Aged high class wine
Get with the loli train, my friend. This game isn't going to be for the shota low class
holy fuck the design in this game is retarded sometimes
>band of friendly quest giving bandits that give tons of xp and gold for doing their quests situated in a castle surrounded by shitloads of hostile bandits wearing the exact same gear
>killing my way through them all
>get to the gate of the castle and just kill the friendly guard there thinking he was an enemy
>now the leader doesn't want to talk to me and won't give me any quests
Did alright i think
I don't see Schierke on the pawn list though. Where are your Schierke anon?
The game supports it, but I'm currently having issues with it >>128737740
Sprint is assigned to shift, light attack is assigned to mouse 4, but shift seems to handle both sprint and light attack
Is the character creator good enough to make a Tyrion lookalike?
For the live of Christ you can't. Please someone make it a sticky for the thread so people so asking I don't know how many times this has been asked. Just give it some time or do it yourself. This shot isn't easy to crack
i feel like Vulpes from fallout
damn being warrior is good
use reshade's deband shader. see >>128732206 for my preset
if it doesn't get rid of it all you can further tweak it, I just used default settings.
>your fault for not having crystals up to fast travel
yeah guy I totally know about that mechanic five hours into the game where do I pick up said crystals?
>nor do you seem to be carrying the escorts
not like I'm busy fighting a chimera or anything
so glad this game is making waves again, i remember when i first started playing
the first time can never be recreated
>inside that crypt with all the undead
>6 skelliebellies spawn
>myself and my 3 warrior pawns anally annihilate their decay pelvises
>every single fucking one drops double giant bags of dosh
I love hard mode, satisfies the deep dark side of my brain that loves AD&D 2nd edition
>yeah guy I totally know about that mechanic five hours into the game where do I pick up said crystals?
Now I'm just not going to tell you.
>not like I'm busy fighting a chimera or anything
You do it before you find the chimera, you idiot. Hell, the escorts follow YOU, with the exception of the hydra cart, so that means you've been wandering right up to the chimera and remained within farting distance.
is there any point of putting a port crystal in front of blue moon tower? this map I have has a mark for one, but I don't really see myself ever coming back here unless there are quests here
Maybe like directx redistributables and that net framework thing but I don't think so. ENB isn't good yet though, it makes loading screens long as fuck. Wait until it's finished.
the cheat engine scripts are pretty crazy already. the only thing we really need now is 6 skills for warrior, or to be able to use any skill with any class to make a custom class.
Play hard mode. If you come back saying it's easy in gunna breast the pots out of you m8. You can get 1 hit by a bat. Also you're only like 5% in the entire game so enjoy bbl easiest place in the world
Best Vanilla armor is
Dragon Knight Helm
Red Dragon Scale
there's a script that removes magic casting time but I haven't used it.
sounds crazy though.
this sounds amazing
it would also break the game really fucking fast
Does my pawn's facial proportions look bad? I can't quite tell if there's too much forehead.
>Night time fighting an ogre
>Rook cast fire weapon
>the glow of the fire weapon enchant is so bright i can't see the fucking ogre anymore
Is there just a bunch of weak packs of mobs in there too? Where the fuck is the big threatening shit that requires fineness that I can climb on top of? So far it's just been packs of wolves and bandits. Feels like I'm grinding a Korean MMO.
How much more Old Man Maori do I need to go?
I'm still torn as to whether or not to save the concept for my pawn instead.
well shit now i know who i want my pawn to be
So I'm reading the pastebin on pawn training and it's talking about teaching the pawns to use certain skills/tactics by doing them themselves. However, on my file, I'm a magick archer and my main pawn is a fighter. How can I teach them to do certain things while being a completely different vocation from them? Should I switch to fighter as well, or can I make them effective without doing so?
>trying to model Arisen after Kate Beckinsale in Underworld
I fucking suck at this, don't I?
>waifuing a lesbian and turning her straight
This is a wonderful idea, why didn't me or my penis think of it before?
>get to the first proper fight against a big enemy
>shoot a few arrows in his face
>no fucking damage
>oh boy, this is gonna take a while
>he immediately charges at me and runs off the stairs
Not gonna complain.
so the priority for pawn AI is
learned skills > enemy knowledge > inclinations
however, learning skills is the hardest thing, and enemy knowledge is the second hardest thing. so in most cases they will fall back on inclinations. this is really important, because what they WILL learn is based on their performance, so if they have crappy inclinations, they will default to crappy behavior and learn crappy things
the most important thing for your pawn is to make sure their inclinations aren't insane. after that, enemy knowledge and teaching them yourself is just refinement. i DO think it is really fun to play the same class as your pawn and see your teaching have an effect
What am I doing wrong I just want the Secret of Metamorphosis thing.
Weird. If I were you I'd try to take a look at the config file where key / button assignments are stored, and modify if it's needed. Alternatively, rename or backup then delete the file, let the game do another one at next start then try again the reconfiguration process.
Why do you guys get such a boner over bolide? I learned and used it and it was cool but the meteors missed fucking everything. It drains all my stamina with a huge cast time for only a small chance of 1hkoing (I assume) whatever it hits.
Does it gain more/bigger meteors as I level or something?
Burst strike pisses me off so much and yet I keep using it.
>Gap closing skill
>Creates a gap right after closing it via a knockback
>No other mobility options for Fighters
it gains more meteors
a few meteors are guaranteed to hit every target in the area. so it works best when there are several targets with high health
it's also extremely good to synchrocast, since doubling or tripling the # of meteors insures everything will die
>mfw Girgori does his speech after the battle at the Greatwall
literally the best part of the game's story.
I'd hire him as a pawn as is for sure though.
We go to the same hairdresser anyways.
why is that?
I thought about going that vocation and shooting so long till my pawn uses it over spells.
then again, i wonder what spells are for.
and what other infamous skill are there that har hard to teach pawns? especially for mage/sorc pawns? I'm not sure what to teach him all.
>ran a loli mage pawn back when DD first came out
>didn't make her as small as possible, more like a teenager/little sister type than loli
>not sexualized, fully robed, complete with glasses or wizard hat
>min-maxed her stats
>paid careful attention to her gear, abilities, and inclinations
>extremely popular, got millions in RC and praise from both the general and pubbies alike
>rolled the same pawn for DA when that launched, to the same positive reception
>DD:DA releases on PC
>constant screaming about loli mage pawns in the thread
>actually get messages from my steam friends shitting on me for making a loli mage pawn instead of an amazon or a waifu or some shit
What the fuck happened?
What the fuck am I supposed to do for a pawn? I considered a brown muscle elf to go with my brown ranger elf arisen, but I want a mage, not a fighter, since I can actually control their equipped spells and inclinations.
Question: How the fuck am I meant to get through the Silent City the second time? Fucking 4 eliminators and two firedrakes?
Can you fuckin' blame 'em? The sheer flood of loli pawns that came with the PC release is a bit ridiculous, and you can guarantee that 95% of them will be fucking garbage in combat.
Also, where the fuck is Uncle Dante at?
My party is incomplete without him.
Loli mages are still good, as long as they look nice.
It's mostly the low-effort ones flooding the rift, but that's not exclusive to them.
B..but anon the dragons spam magic attacks while the eliminators wreck my shit as I'm in perma-stunlock.
Also, black abbey has 4 of those armoured phantasm things at once. All mage pawns suck ass at high levels unless they have 100% Goldforged BBI lvl 3's.
>go magick archer with 4 mage periapt
>everything freezes perpetually and you make everyone your bitch
for my strider pawn should i use
-ring-buffed cutting wind from the dlc
-leaping stone to pair with brain splitter, assuming i can teach the pawn to use it
also he is a strider so he doesnt have a katana but get ready for jetstream sam: the pawn coming to a gransys near you
i honestly don't know why the fuck pawns won't focused bolt
other famously hard stuff includes casting miasma on your cannon, perfect blocking, and hindsight slash
for a basic mage/sorc the most important things to get them doing are casting holy affinity on you, potentially healing, casting comestion (or sometimes frigor) and spell synchronizing, especially with bolide
just comestion and holy affinity is enough to make a really good pawn
