Melting isn't that hard, you can literally delete bullets. You don't actually get hit pre-loop as Melting, do you?
He's reliant on getting key mutations to do well. If you get to level Ultra without Throne Butt or Hammerhead you may as well restart.
Rogue has to deal with IDPD bullshit on every level, her blast armor can work against her in that it can destroy cover, and half the time Portal Strike canisters don't even spawn.
Eyes ' active is a double-edged sword on levels with contact enemies, but Crystal's shield doesn't affect those enemies like telekinesis does.
The method to play as Frog is so convoluted that I don't see the point in bothering and I've never gotten the opportunity to get to Skelly as Melting.

Well I guess I can give you a tip for when you are up against the Nuclear Throne.
Having a melee weapon for the fight will make it quite a bit easier. This is because you can destroy the big green orbs before they explode, and for me those are most annoying things to dodge.
So pretty much all you have to do is focus on is dodging the stream of bullets the Throne shoots and prioritise destroying those big green orbs. When there aren't any orbs flying at you, you can shoot at the throne or even get up close and personal with your melee weapon.

Reposting this for posterity because I believe it is interesting, and hope that the devs respond to this at some point.

I believe that the IDPD do not operate out of a single universe, policing the rest of the multiverse. There are too many inconsistencies for this to be a possibility. If there is only ONE IDPD timeline, then why is it that you can loop until you see freak IDPD, die, swap to another universe, and see normal IDPD again, when the freaks signify that their HQ was destroyed? Why are there multiple lil hunters, shouldn't there be just one as he was from the IDPD timeline and nowhere else? Same for rogue, why are there multiple versions of her? The captain as well, you can fight her over and over.

I submit that the IDPD HQ is not its own dimensional timeline, but rather a base set on the moon or some such off-planet location in the same universe as the mutants. The inter-dimensional part of their name comes from the fact that they collaborate with their alternate dimension counterparts to police the ravaged earth.

Universe A has Earth A, Throne A, Mutant Campfire A, and IDPD HQ A on Moon A,
Universe B has Earth B, Throne B, Mutant Campfire B, and IDPD HQ B on Moon B, and so on and so forth infinitely.

It would make more sense for IDPD dimensions to govern a cluster of dimensions, rather than there just being one, singular IDPD dimension. To say that there's only one IDPD dimension is silly, but to say that all IDPD in a handful of your runs hail from *this particular dimension* isn't that far of a stretch.
