Everything else (except the tonitrus) is decent enough to compete but not excellent enough to warrant a mention. If you want to tryhard, use one of the above.
In pvp what would you guys say is better on a blt build: evelyn or repeater pistol?
>go to watch last Saturday's fightclub vid
What the fuck happened to my youtube.
Still disappointed that Henryk and Gascoigne aren't hunting eternal in the Hunter's Nightmare but overall, loving this DLC.
Just had this drop from HMPH
Considering the only hunters that are still standing are "Old Hunters" and how powerful they must be to not be like all the other corpses which I assume are other hunters? So I assume Gas and Hen arrived then got immediately beaten to mulch.
Also another thing why is our hunter "special" in that he can go to the hunters dream over and over again were as others can't?
Watchers with Red Aura's can drop the same exact rating gems as the layer 1 boss does.
It can actually be more efficient to just run and kill one of these over and over, but the problem is they also drop other shit like ritual bloods and crap that fucks up the drop rate and it just sort of sucks
Tbh this gem isn't that great desu, neat as it is.
Still, that's fucking crazy. That pretty much means that it could be possible to get an Odd 44.6 tempering gem from a chest as an odd drop and wack it in a gun for FUN
What's happening here
>Layer 1 FRC Isz
>Boss name is Pthumerian Elder
I have a lore question:
Why is it that the Blood-red moon doesn't disappear from Yharnam after you end the Mensis Ritual by killing the Wet Nurse and Mergo? If the ritual was beckoning the MP, than the MP should retreat once the ritual ceases, and the blood moon should end, right? Hell, the doll even tells you that the night is about to end once you do so, but everything is still fucked in Yharnam, it's not calming down.
You mean he can drop Cold Abyssals on layer 1? That would be pretty crazy, even if they're triangles.
If you're going for Arc gems then rushing Isz is the best choice, you can go straight to FRC Isz and skip Defiled and then go back with OP gems.
Having eye runes will help.
And yes, the drop rates are shit. There's a glyph where you can sneak up on the hunter and start the fight with a backstab. I'll look it up if you don't already have it.
It's just letting it's Great One brethren have their breeding fun. That does seem to be it's "job" after all. Regardless, it seems to be packing up since the Doll tells you that dawn is about to break, so whatever happens the MP is on the verge of pulling the blood moon from Yharnam and letting the Night end (which can last for however long you like, since you have to hit story triggers for this to happen)
>captcha: select all large bodies of water such as lakes or oceans
Yeah, that's what I plan on doing. I made an FRC Isz but I can't find any good gems, Is a single arcane triangle all this chalice has to offer? No easy waning or radials?
I want to use transformed and beams most of the time tho.
Yeah, pretty sure it's cb7jig9p where the hunter is standing next to the cart thing. Got 1 tempering phys but not even sure if it's worth it because it's pretty much an instakill and you might not even get a drop.
I like to think they are just in another part of the nightmare.
Old Hunters were fucking ridiculous (who would stay in Yharnem after fighting one darkbeast, much less as reguler enemies?), but Gascoigne was hard enough to be a boss before transforming and Henryk can mulch Eileen just fine without your interference.
On that subject, why are the nightmare's beastly townsfolk so quiet?
>Is a single arcane triangle all this chalice has to offer? No easy waning or radials?
Well you can get a 27.2% Arc gem, an Arcane Abyssal triangle, or a Cold Abyssal triangle, as well as the Bone Ash hunter radials.
If you want the best radial/waning Arc gems you need FRC Ihyll/Loran, or just get super lucky with an off-shape.
Also Arc gems on HMS is pretty much only good for the projectiles, transformed damage still sucks. But the projectiles will hit hard.
if you want to search for a lower pthumeru root dungeon, you need the root chalice
with that, you'll be able to search for any riteless lower pthumeru root dungeon
with that in mind, I don't think anyone's gone to that length for ritual blood 4s
just follow the speedrun guide
What should I go for then? On the spreadsheet there's an isz amy that drops nourishings, not sure if it's worth it though.
I just want to make the most out of transformed mode, projectiles and overall damage transformed.
Remember when this game was about werewolves and shit?
Any advice for Maria? I have some success parrying her, but I don't know if using the blunderbuss is hurting my ability to do so. The big thing getting me is not knowing if she's going to do one of her insanely fast strikes or delayed strikes from neutral
I guess Nourishings would be the best option since you'd get more damage out of the regular swings, you can get slightly shitter ones from gargoyles in Ihyll I believe but it's way easier than farming Amy. I don't know any glyphs though.
Honestly HMS on a pure Arcane build is only good as a gimmick. The only time I use it is when I feel like transformed charge R2 combo'ing bosses to death.
I fast traveled to the Grand Cathedral after killing Rom and the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst wasn't there, but what he dropped was. I talked to Eileen, waited, came back, and the Grand Cathedral was still empty. Why is this?
The REAL question is why the moon in the Nightmare of Mensis isn't blood-red. If the ritual is beckoning the Moon, and the moon in yharnam becomes red because of it, then why isn't it red in the Nightmare, closest to the beckoning beacon?
Dodge towards her and to to left for most cases, land only a hit at a time, get a weapon with high stagger and you can probably land two most of the time.
I know the advice "just dodge" is pretty dumb and shitposting most of the time, but maria really needs you to make use of your iframes.
I dont ever parry bosses and after a couple of tried learning her moveset iframing them and going for the openings was pretty easy.
ringing again at fire dog, this will probably be my last try if anyone wants to help. one insight left, getting tired, defiled phtumerian, pass is bbghi
maybe I should give up on the plat, this dungeon is insane
But that's tucking weird. Why does the MP drop the moon exclusively over Yharnam? It doesn't even really make sense, it's being beckoned by an object that's within the Nightmare, by all rights, it should drop the Moon there
I always go against the grain to say Evy, because you're still getting damage and you're not eating through as many bullets, which is good because in PvP most shots either miss or go to no good use; as in, you may hit them once, but then they heal after and the only advantage you've gained is one less vial for them.
Unless you're dueling, then Repeater all the way, why not? Ash it too.
I would say that it's because the "Moon" in the Nightmare of Mensis is not the same Moon that we see in Yharnam, but the Byrgenwerth/Cainhurst thing throw a wrench in that theory. It could be that what beckons the Moon Presence isn't the Nightmare itself, but the Hunt that it caused. Cainhurst, Byrgenwerth, and the Nightmare of Mensis are outside of Yharnam, and outside of the Hunt taking place. That could be why the Moon isn't red. I don't really have anything to base that off of mind you. I'm just taking shots in the dark.
don't know if this was confirmed in an interview or not but, is Dark Souls 3 going to have a Chalice dungeon equivalent?
No, rather than wasting an incredible amount of development time and assets on a series of mind-numbingly repetitive randomized dungeons for farming the korean trinkets and baubles arbitrarily necessary for a weapon to function
The concept is good but it was executed pretty poorly in BB, I think. I actually kind of enjoy going through root dungeons, but there's not much reward for doing that over just looking up glyphs and going straight to the loot you want. There needed to be more variation and each Chalice should have had different architecture/rooms, instead of just different tilesets. That was the most disappointing thing for me.
Also the fact that the drop rate is so unforgiving that everyone just savescums to grind is a pretty good indicator that the grind is a bit ridiculous, especially for a game like this.
Ok, this may sound stupid, but hear me out.
The MPs job, as far as the game lets you know, is to signal the other Great Ones to breed. It does this by dropping the Moon whenever it gets riled up.
So when you beckon the MP with a baby (like the Mensis), it gets horny and decides to let the f@m get in on the fun. It drops the Moon wherever acceptable human mating partners reside, as a flag. The Blood-Red Moon is essentially a signpost that says "you may all fuck the humans HERE!" Places that are deserted or are inhabited solely by beasts like Byrgenwerth, the Nightmare, Old Yharnam, don't get the signal, because there's nothing there. Cainhurst is ignored because Annalise got snubbed yet again in her quest for are child of blood, and besides her the place is devoid of breeding candidates.
It would be fine if it stayed optional like it should be. The fact they gated the best gems and weapons only obtainable in there made it horribly tedious. Coupled with having to re-do the whole damn thing on every single character.
>Invading mensis right near the trolls
>every time I enter anothers world they instantly die from the thrown rocks
This is funny, and I need the insight
Speaking of, Are the trolls just beasted up humans?
>The MP is being beckoned by Mergo
Nah man, Laurence beckoned the MP. Pic related. The Moon is tied with the Hunt, not necessarily the Nightmare of Mensis. If anything it's more closely tied with the Hunter's Nightmare than the Nightmare of Mensis.
From what I can understand of the continuity, the scourging of Old Yharnam ocurred because of the School of Mensis' little experiment in Yahar'gul. There's a message in the area near a dead Hunter (who presumably wrote it) that says that the SoM must be stopped "lest we all become beasts."
On the Night when Old Yharnam was scourged and burned, Mensis failed their experiment. The Hunters were overwhelmed by the sheer number of beasts and were forced to set fire to the lower city. Meanwhile, the Church locked its gates tight and sequestered itself from the Hunt, but sent out Laurence and his Church Hunters.
It's unclear when Laurence became blood-addled, but he must have since he's stuck in the Nightmare. If I recall correctly Laurence was supposed to enter the Dream to replace Gehrman, but was instead confined to the Nightmare and incapable of entering the Dream.
Laurence couldn't inherit the Dream. Maybe the Moon Presence was getting pissed off waiting for a new Host. It's hard to say, I'd have to think about it for a while.
if only you could use blood echoes as a catalyst to respawn a boss, and when you do they spawn in slathered in blood, gain a few extra moves, and drop the equivalent best blood gems from dungeons.
Imo, I see Dark Souls 3 having some kind of "Soul Gem" system, but there won't be any korea or random gems involved. Instead, there'll be set story gems you get to put in weapons.
Think: Ring system, but for guns.
Cloranthy Soul Gem
>Decreases Stamina Useage
>Raises Stamina Rechard
Some Guy's Bolt Gem
>Converts damage type to bolt
>Raises bolt defence
Edgy's Gem of Thorns
>Attacks inflict damage on swing, increase damage 30%
>Inflict damage against opponents on roll
Shit like that. You either choose to put the "rings" on yourself or the weapon. You cannot ever double up and there's no +1,+2 shit either.
>It's somewhere in the fextra forums
Yeah, alright there bud.
It's an appropriate word to use for Gehrman's role within the Dream. He is the Host of the Dream, like a Host of a Party. He provides oversight and guidance to the Hunter in the Dream and, when the Hunt is over, he attempts to forcefully remove the Hunter from the Dream. The Moon Presence doesn't appear until this Host is killed, similar to how you can't proceed to Mergo or the Wet Nurse until you kill Micolash. A Host is an intermediary. Maybe a better word would be "Steward."
The game straight up tells you with lore notes that the Mensis are conducting a ritual to beckon the moon, and that they are using are baby (the Nightmare Newborn aka Mergo) to do so
In Dark Souls 3, instead of bloodgems, there will be a collectible card mini-game that you can use to enhance your equipment. Booster packs can be purchased using sunlight medals and tokens of spite (30 medals/tokens per pack). You can also trade cards with your fellow undead. Can you get a full set of Mythic-Rare infused equipment? Find out this April.
Actually there is a use for Waning slots on STR builds
Red Aura Madmen in Loran drop 21% phys up + 2x a secondary effect.
You can get 21% physical + 12% attack up at full hp gems, or 12% charge attack
You can get 26% adept + that same bonus too, for effectively better than the 27% gems, but they are situational.
>host and phantom trying to gank in Mensis
>lead them into enemies and kill the phantom
>host runs back to start of area and gets rekt 1v1 even though I have 30 vit
>hate mail starts rolling in
Which on of you is this, lol?
>there are people who dont want to korean grind hard shit
shit guys, its the only time I feel any tension fighting pve
>finally get 3, 31% BLT for my Bloodletter
>don't even feel like playing the game anymore
>don't feel like PVPing at all
>do it anyway
>hit some guy for a 900
>one shot both of his team mates with l2
I feel empty.
Is it just me, or is Bloodborne PVP boring?
I'm not sure what it is, but I feel like DaS 1 and 2 had much more variety than this.
I miss being able to invade anyone any time. I miss spooky, dark areas like The Gutter with my Greatbow and shoot people off of cliffs.
And I hate how much easier it is to twink in this game. At least if a Twink invaded you in DaS 1 you stood a chance of winning. Now all I really do is one shot people.
I think I might make a new character with a really average weapon, like Kirk and only get 20% Gems.
You're right, the messages in the Hypogean Gaol read as follows:
"Madmen toil surreptitiously in rituals to beckon the moon. Uncover their secrets."
"Nightmarish rituals crave a newborn. Find one, and silence its harrowing cry."
"Behold! A Paleblood sky!"
But then a note in Byrgenwerth, on a piece of paper rather than carried by messengers, reads that Laurence and his associates beckoned the moon presence, which is Paleblood.
It's hard to make heads or tails out of who did it first, or which one succeeded. It could be that creating a Nightmare is what beckons the Hunt, and that they BOTH beckoned the Moon in tandem. Granted I haven't finished the Fishing Hamlet yet so there might be something in there that will help me sort this out. I'll have to play through it soon.
Does having 25 in Arcane change any of this, or is it not enough to take into account?
I'm asking mostly because I've upgraded a Boomhammer up to +7 but it's the normal version, (2 Radials, 1 Waning) and I wanna know if I fucked up.
Anyone able to coe help me with lower pth layer 2 ubdead giant?
Ringing at lamp and password is undead
I like having an excuse to git so gud and headless BLB that I can down him in under 30 seconds, I don't like needing to do it on every new character just so that I'm not gimped by my 'strength' weapon's natural C scaling.
I considered red aura madmen but after finding out that rally secondary on them is shit even on Hunter Axe and that they can't drop +%vs. open foes on a Waning, I basically stopped caring about them.
+% at full HP is good as a secondary or in PvE, though.
Oh, the other thing I guess is that it's possible for headless BLB to spawn in Loran, but it's super-fucking-rare and the only glyph I know of with him in it, he's on Layer 2 so you probably can't get an abyssal from him.
At risk of sounding stupid, why can't the next iteration of Chalice dungeons just be one massive, semi-randomized dungeon? Like, each Layer would follow an actual theme and each layer would be split into several floors with semi-randomized bosses in them.
For example, Layer 1 would be comprised of all Pthumeru-like dungeons including Ihyll, while layer 2 would be all Loran-like dungeons and Layer 3 can be Isz-like, with a final fourth Layer like anon suggested last night? A layer based on the Nightmare, with an actual Nightmare Brain as the final boss.
You are over thinking it.
The MPs boss intro, and the post-Rom cutscene, show that the Moon turns blood-red whenever the MP gets exited. The Nightmare realms are bleeding into reality, with downtown Yharnam as its epicenter. That's why none of Yharnams peripherals are effected, the merging of realms didn't have a chance to get that far.
The moon in the hunters dream isn't red because the MP isn't descending upon it, it's descending onto the Nightmare (or at least trying to), and the Nightmare is starting to bleed into reality with the death of Rom.
The moon in the Nightmare of Mensis isn't red because the Wet Nurse (who is generating the Nightmare) holds it at bay. The dlc shows us that Kos/the Orphan can influence the Moon within the Nightmare that they generate, so it's logical to assume that any great one that can generate a Nightmare (like the MP itself) can do the same. The Wet Nurse is using this influence to hold the MP back so that it doesn't steal Mergo from it.
When the Wet Nurse dies, the MP retreats it's descent in the Nightmare, but the corresponding retreat is delayed in reality
Waning slot on boomhammer is perfect, the red aura loran madmen I just spoke of can drop 21% fire attack up + 31flat fire, they're the best fire gem in the game I THINK
I use this
Cursed Fire Damp Blood Gem (6)
Fire ATK UP +21% + Random stat x2 (Add fire ATK +31,5)
Waning - Glyph: wpi99uu5, F/R/C Lower Loran L1, red aura Madman right after layer lamp
Every offensive stat except strength has some extra bonus. Skill gets high visceral damage, Bloodtinge gets high-power guns, and Arcane gets tools of course.
I guess Strength's bonus is the kind of weapons you get, which tend to have more hyperarmor and stun than everything else. I guess.
For Boomhammer, going Nourishing is maybe OK? I haven't done any testing on different gem setups on it, but it has decent split damage, so nourishing on it should be decent, especially if you got 25 Arcane. For that you'd want either Lost or regular Boom Hammer. Triangle nourishing gems are stronger than radial nourishing gems (21.5% max roll on Amygdala abyssal with a secondary, or 23.6% max roll from as a very rare Merciless Watcher Isz drop), but radials can get +%vs. open foes secondary, which is good.
21.5% nourishing with +15 flat fire is gonna be better than a red aura madman gem on Boom Hammer.
>they're the best fire gem in the game I THINK
Depends on the weapon, but they're very nice. On a weapon with 434 or less AR and one empty gemslot (the other two would probably be radial cold abyssals), Madmen gems are the best in the game.
This irks me desu
Dark Souls was the same.
The fast weapons hit the same amount as the big gigantic super slow heavy things, it's kind of retarded. Fast weapons in this game could do 50% less damage than they current do and still keep up just fine.
I just want 27.2%s. Please, stop doing this to me.
How can I deal with these winter lanterns? With axe I can just sprint in and L1 spam them to death. All I have now is a chikage+6 reiter, bowblade and +6 whip. Bowblade works, but doesn't deal enough damage to down one before frenzy goes off and I have to waste two vials healing up again.
They can drop max 6% I think? vs. Open Foes.
Whether or not they're worth it depends on how often you think you're gonna hit an open foe. DESU I don't know 100% for sure what open foes are. I know that counter hits count as an open foe, but I'm not sure if instability hits (hitting somebody out of a roll, sprint, after a guardbreak, etc.) count.
Also vs. Open Foes bonus doesn't improve your attack rating, it improves your final damage. And they're multiplicative, not additive, with the counter damage bonus of 20%. So e.g. if you land a counterhit with two 6% vs. Open Foes gems, your damage would be increased by 1.2 * 1.06 * 1.06 = 1.34832, so ~35% damage bonus instead of a 20% damage bonus.
32.6 is pretty much always better than 28.7/15s fwiw.
Parry them, wait for frenzy meter to build up, then visceral when it's about to pop. Invulnerability from your visceral attack prevents the frenzy damage.
>to be honest filters to desu
I hate every single one of you memesters who spammed desu everywhere ironically and made this happen.
Does someone have that Chalice Speedrun guide image?
Unintentional korea general?
I have this triangle drop out of nowhere on the first shotgun watcher I met and leveled up to a meme BL just to make use of it
I still summon for him like a little bitch boy
Anyone able to help me with chalice rom? Ringing at the lamp and password is rommy
Viscerals make you invulnerable for like five seconds. The timing is not that hard. Get around 130 to 160 frenzy resist and a blunderbuss. You can do this strat with as low as 100 or so frenzy resist, but it means if you miss the parry timing, you won't have enough time to go for a second parry before the frenzy triggers.
I still havent budged over this guy
>finally manage to beat the guy kicking your ass in PVP
I hate Hemwick most of the time but sometimes it's pretty nice.
Man I hate these crows. They wouldn't infuriate me so much if not for the fact that their attacks just do piss, but you still can't stomp them because they hover their hat asses in the air for five seconds pecking at nothing like retards.
>FUCKING SAYS EYE
>description says that it shoots from one's pupil
>snot rocket, kekekekekek
The faggot who linked this piece of shit into /bbg/ who just kill himself.
I want to use HMLS for this. There's no attire to match, is there?
Thanks so much to the bro who just helped me with rom, very much appreciated man
Nature is disgusting
So I'm starting a doll cosplay, going to be using the kos parasite without milkweed as my main weapon. Do I want the same type of gems as a milkweed kos parasite? If not, then what should I be shooting for?
I was thinking charred hunters top for the anime collar to simulate the feathers and the coat to simulate the...coat. Colours are off though. I'll just try everything once I get the sword I guess
>one reborn is actually ones reborn in japanese
That actually clears it up alot that it was some big ritual that took all those people plastered to the walls and unifying them into great one status artificially.
Also some advice, how is old hunters bone in pvp? useful or not very?
i just recently picked up bloodborne, and gitting gud so far appears to be a foreign concept to me. i'm able to smash the cleric beast and father gascoigne, but the blood-starved beast tears my asshole open every fucking time i enter the fight. it's gotten to a point where i've frustratedly remade twice just to find a build that works for me specifically. any tips on how to deal with his third phase?
also, should i be leveling vit and end over str and skill this early on? does it matter?
>play BB and like it
>stop, decide to finish SotFS before I go hard until April
>get back to 30fps
Oh god why did i do this. It moves so slooooooooooow
I mean ill get used to it, but.
Just learn the moves he doesn't telegraph by bringing his right arm up. Every thing he does, you can dodge forwards left to fight him. He, like paarl, is easier solo., because they both can blind side you really quick if they are focusing on some one else and switch to you for some BS OHKO that you would have seen coming a mile away if her were on you.
Use the favorite speedrun tactic if you really can't beat it. Throw a blood cocktail into the corner, BSB will aggro the corner and not attack you. You take this time to wail on his asshole with a fire papered saw cleaver and a beast blood pellet. After the first cocktail wears off throw another. He should die after the 2nd cocktail.
Use antidotes only when safe
Strafe to his left
This is my gem setup for punchyparasite
The best possible setup for it would be all arc% + flat arc gems, as the phys% portion of the other ones does nothing for it.
Hence why I made do with charge attack up% on one, as that still is okay and I can use that
So shit that speedrunners use it. >>128631151
I just beat Ludwig for the first time. It took me over 20 tries, a hell of a lot of items and more leveling up than any other boss I've ever fought against. Eventually I just gave up and rang the bell and it was endlessly easier.
Are all the fucking bosses in the DLC this ridiculously hard?
>fuck up a dodge at low health
>see my death coming right for me
>One of you messages was rated fine.
>health bar goes up
Wait, what? This is actually a thing in From games?
I'm going to put a fucking tongue but hole everywhere I can fucking think of now.
Circle around him a bunch, I don't know what's recommended but I'm always successful moving to his left.
>should i be leveling vit and end over str and skill this early on
Can if you want, scaling increases by upgrading weapons so it's not as important in the beginning, but still good. Endurance is less important this time around, at least for pvp; nothing wrong with extra stamina for pve though.
Yeah. I remember watching a video where a guy was about to die on Orphan's second phase where he almost killed him and his note was rated fine literally right before he was going to die, saving him.
>Try out Kirk on my STR build
>50 STR, 32% blunt gem, abyssal heavy, 27% triangle
>Hit regular junk mob ghoul in pwmf22gu
>No hyper armour at all on the r1's at any point, slow as fuck, insta stunned out of them
Holy fuck now I remember why I dropped this shit like an ugly baby at release. Why does it's actual damage reflect like half it's AR? I'm doing direct fucking hits with a gigantic block with UBER gems and getting crap damage
The same gems in the wheel does like 300 more AR a hit and that weapon seems to have way more hyper armour
Did I fall for a meme +10'ing this piece of shit?
>a ladder to nowhere
This layer is a nightmare. It's massive, and the first room has two Cannon Giants along with one of those werewolf mages AND one of those plant things that spit meteors.
There's even a fucking Beast-possessed Soul waiting in a pit to ambush you. Jesus christ.
>play Dark Souls 2 for some reason
>keep toggling 1H /2H when I try to heal
>accidentally casting spells when I want to 1H/2H
>touchpad button and option buttons are switched around
>played it long enough that I waste blood vials when I want to trick mode now
Why can't they stick with a control scheme?
Bloodborne should've had a blood flask as an item, triangle should've 2 hand the CURRENT PHASE of the trick weapon, L1 transforms it
So, you one hand the hammer part of kirkhammer for a full crazy moveset. You 2 hand it again.
Transform out to the sword, 2 hand that part, one hand it etc.
That was what I was expecting, two ACTUAL weapons in one. What we got is kind of just the same thing as Dark Souls but wrapped up in semantics of visuals in transforming.
And to top it off, I'm completely lost. I found a treasure chest with a Great One's Wisdom, not the boss gate lever. This layer doesn't even have a pre-lantern side area!
This is the kind of shit that crops up in my CRFs all the time, man.
No, you're not getting my point.
In Dark Souls you had
You "transform" the moveset by 2 handing it.
In Bloodborne you have
You "transform" the moveset by pressing a button, sometimes this is a two handed look, sometimes not
It's not "two weapons in one" compared to Dark Souls. It's 1 weapon, that's "two modes" just happen to look and sound different.
It's only different in semantics. What I expected from bloodborne, was this:
One hand the sword part of kirkammer, you're slashing about.
You transform it, you stab the sword into the hammer, you're not one handing the hammer portion.
You decide to 2 hand the hammer portion after a couple of attacks. You transform, and you're now in the sword version again, but you're 2 handing the sword.
You go back to one handing the sword.
One handing the tricked mode of the logarius wheel for more of a spin2win moveset where you ballerina around. 2 handing the untricked mode sideways so all the attacks are more like pancakes.
Do you see what I'm getting at here? I feel like I'm, explaining it well enough.
>tfw played DaS on PC w/ 360 controller for so long that I sometimes push the square button when I see a prompt for pressing X on screen.
You're explaining it well
but you're wrong.
You'd have a point if the transformed states weren't radically different from each other in most cases, and if it wasn't for two-handed weapons in Dark Souls generally (not always) having mostly the same moves as one-handed, just with slightly altered hitboxes
>tfw 2 handing the tricked portion of beast cutter
>spinning around like a furious madman
>tfw one handing the transformed rifle spear and having a blunder buss and basically spamming double shotguns
Now I know what BB2 holds for me, can't wait
There's a very, very small amount of weapons in Bloodborne that aren't two weapons in one, dude. Those weapons are Logarius' Wheel, Ludwig's Holy Blade and the Chikage.
Kirkhammer is a perfect example of this. You start off using a longsword which then turns into a hammer. Reiterpallasch too. Start off with a rapier which then turns into a shortsword/firearm. If anything, Reiter is THREE weapons in one because the swinging animations and damage type are different in tricked form, on top of the gun.
Trick weapons have always been advertised as transforming weapons, so I dunno where the fuck you got that train of thought from.
You're not getting it.
You're only using the hammer part of the kirk one way, you're only using the sword part one way.
It's semantically the same as two handing a weapon in souls, but it has visual and animation differences.
I want to be able to 2 hand the longsword part, I want to one hand the hammer part and drag it around like one hande club moveset from das.
I honestly thought that's what BB's weapons were going to do. When I realised it was just kind of a visual/thematic change to what dark souls already did I was kind of let down, that's all I'm saying.
It's still to me just the "one handed and two handed" moveset to me. Just that the "one handed" is called untricked and the "two handed" is called tricked.
I wanna ask a why question, I'm a noob.
For an arcane build, most people say grab the saw spear, upgrade it, and stick the Fire gem you find underneath the Chapel into it to get an INT scaling weapon. I get that.
But why the Saw Spear?
I honestly agree, but this would've been way too hard to develop for each weapon, they were finite enough.
Maybe in a theoretical future game we can get fully transformable and one/two handable weapons, but it's just not a thing that would've been possible in this games development.
Oh come off it.
You press triangle in Dark Souls, and you change the animations and act of the weapon, you press it again to change it back.
In Bloodborne you press L1 to change the animations and act of the weapon, you press it again to change it back.
The only difference is Dark Souls never had attacks that happen during the button press or "transform attacks" as we call them in bloodborne.
In Dark Souls 3 they could easily do that. You're two handing your great club, you attack/roll and then press triangle and do a unique "transforming attack" that ends with you now one handing it.
Are you still not seeing where I'm coming from? I'm not retarded, I know that the Hammer part of the Kirk and the Sword part LOOK different, and they ACT different, but based on the systems, it's not actually that much more different to how weapon movesets worked in Dark Souls.
The very nature of "transform attacks" doesn't need to remain exclusive either, as I pointed out in my example of the great club.
Question. Is there something like it for kin? Closest i can think of it them being almost universally weak to thrust so I use Ludwig with bolt. Is there something better? I mean other than Tonitrus
TL;DR you're retarded.
>It's semantically the same as two handing a weapon in souls
But it's literally not, because the weapon functions differently on a fundamental level when tricked, as most of them do.
Absolutely none of the weapons in any way, shape or form resemble the one-handed/two-handed of Dark Souls. In Dark Souls you don't "transform" the weapon by two-handing it, you simply two-hand it and in 90% of cases the moveset barely changes, if it changes at all.
The reason why Bloodborne's got such a small array of weapons compared to Souls games is because almost all of them are literally two weapons in one, with Tricked/Untricked forms functioning vastly differently. This extends beyond just moveset changes and often into changing damage types.
Hell, even something like Ludwig's Holy Blade still functions very differently in Tricked/Untricked form. Untricked is a longsword with decent speed and power, while Tricked form is a greatsword with low speed, high power and high stagger/knockback. Using the tricked mode of LHB is different still to one-handing/two-handing a greatsword, by the way. When one-handing a greatsword, you've still got the same swing speed and 90% of the time, the same animations as two-handing it.
Trick weapons function differently to one-handing/two-handing on a fundamental level and you are stupid. End.
If you try real hard then maybe one day you will be almost as good as me. I believe in the me that believes in you.
It has serration in both forms. If you pop a beast pellet then R1 → L1 → L1 → L1 etc, you will do ridiculous amounts of damage.
What is it with this guy? People seem to hate him. Why?
Are his theories wrong? Is it his voice? Is he an asshole in real life?
Two handing weapons in DaS mostly just changes the moveset somewhat while costing you the use of any left hand items. Transforming weapons usually changes most if not all of their moveset with some of them still letting you use weapons in both hands. A halberd still acts like a halberd if you one or two hand it, meanwhile for the Hunter Axe's forms are totally distinct from each other.
He takes credit for other people's ideas and most of his original theories are retarded.
WILL INVASIONS STOP IN THE NIGHTMARE FRONTIER IF I KILL AMY?
Most of his correct theories are just shit taken from other people/4chan/reddit, etc., and all his original theories are completely wrong. It's where the "X is really Eileen" meme came from
>I know that the Hammer part of the Kirk and the Sword part LOOK different, and they ACT different, but based on the systems, it's not actually that much more different to how weapon movesets worked in Dark Souls.
It's extremely different. Straight swords and greathammers were never remotely similar weapons in previous Souls games, were not used in the same ways, and usually demanded different stat spreads. The degree of difference in moveset between one handing and two handing your Large Club was vastly less than the difference between sword Kirk and hammer Kirk, because no matter how many hands you had on it, it was still a big, slow, heavy club, and that's how it handled.
Your viewpoint only makes sense if you over-generalize the shit out of how two-handing worked and how transforming attacks work, because the degree of difference between the two systems is large enough to be obvious to anyone else.
real life? he's actually a nice dude
but and this is a big but, he tried to erase his past here with the chan, going as far as sucking pewdiepie dick.
then you have him stealing content from /vg/v/reddit/etc
Thing is, he got big because enb on all of his wisdom, didn't do a single SINGLE lore video, leaving room to him get BIG.

The two handed moveset in Dark Souls for all weapons is entirely different. That was the point. Just because they "look similar" is irrelevent. The animations and hitboxes are all done differently to either mode.
You're getting very flustered with the notion of "transforming" and "two handing" and not boiling it down to what it is.
You press button, the moveset changes from X to Y. You press it again, it changes back.
This is what Demon's Souls did, this is what Bloodborne does.
The only CORE MECHANICAL DIFFERENCES are that attacks can happen as segway during the two modes in Bloodborne. Get your mind past the visual and animation thing.
Those do not have to be exlclusive to a transform at all. They're just animations, that have hitboxes like any other moveset.
Of COURSE the threaded cane has a "cane mode" and of course it has a "whip mode". But, it's FUNDAMENTALLY the same thing as one/two handed of a singular weapon from Souls.
It's a moveset toggle, from one to the other. One hand, Two Hand. Tricked, Untricked.
I would love to TWO HAND the cane part as well as one hand it. I would love to TWO HAND the whip part, as well as one hand it.
That would TRULY be TWO WEAPONS as Demon's Souls had them, in one.
Bloodbornes weapon's are...weapons. They're not two weapons. It's one weapon. One weapon that has X moveset and Y moveset, just as the other games did.
It having more movesets such as running R2's, backstep R2's, transform attacks does not need to be insular to just Bloodbornes weapons. Those are just core mechanic progression.
Mate, just stop. As a programmer I understand totally where your coming from but it's not worth walls of text, people aren't going to get it.
It would've been too difficult to implement that way in the game, double development time on weapons. Maybe in a future game we'll get it.
>just beat ludwig solo with a cane
Than you my Queen for the stamina Regen, it's all thanks to you!
The difference between two handing and trick weapons is how much each individual weapons nicest varies. No matter how many hands you hold a sword or a spear or a hammer with, you can only do so much, which is always going to be less than what trick weapons are capable of.
This is nothing new. He would always steal his ideas from /dsg/. The problem was no one could prove it. Then he went full retard and started stealing almost word for word from a like 90 page paper someone wrote. That shit could be tracked and proven.
Pretty sure it's fine as long as you leave the bell maiden alive but I'm not certain so whatever.
As an Australian, I apologise for Vaati.
He's a Sydney fuckhead. They're direct descendants of potato stealers.
Us western australians are raised from Dutch/English/Scottish people who did hard work.
>want to send an honest compliment to a ganksquad host I invaded
>don't know which recently met player was them or their summons
Just fucking end it all.
>Tfw I genuinely like using Chikage untricked
I've given it a whirl and the untricked form really doesn't feel as shit as some people say. Decent speed, decent reach, no HP drain. Sure it may deal phys damage instead of blood and have lower SKL scaling, but it's not like it's weak. Plus, you can still use your guns without having to clean off the blade, so that's always nice.
The lack of unzip attacks does kinda lower it's killing power a bit, though.
PvP and PvE it honestly feels great. The slashing just tracks so well and it's so fast.
Even though it's a pain that I use the cane for all my skill playthrus until I actually get usable skill weapons(I don't kill eileen and that skill weapons were sparse until mid-end game). It sure is reliable for story and CDs for its long range to hit bosses' heads and keep good distance away from enemies. Not my weaponfu but see it as my weaponbro, know I can always rely on it if needed to be
Well, there was literally 5 minutes before this of me killing him over and over while he ran into the cannon guys blast area and just healed up. I got sick of it and eventually just popped the thing as a big fuck you to the guy. Did nothing but spam the stupid L2 over and over again,
You're trying to talk to retards who can't comprehend what you're saying because they're stuck on BUT I CAN CHANGE A SWORD TO A HAMMER
You were essentially expecting 4 movesets. 1h/2h tricked and untricked and just got 2. Personally I was expecting the same. Funnily enough DaS2 has the most movesets available because of power stancing.
>Get summoned for Ludwig
>Obviously a newer player
>Ludwig readies his sword to do the AoE
>Host moves up to hit him
>I start dodging back
>The host immediately starts dodging back after I do and survives
Brain of Mensis, sorry. Tell me if you can help, I don't want to linger near there because of frenzy and adversaries.
That's what I was saying, Yes, tricked weapons in Bloodborne have more movesets, but would I trade that in for not being able to put anything in any hand and choose how to hold it? Not really. I like being able to do spear + great sword stuff. Straight sword in one hand, hammer in the other. To me, that's more movesets on offer at a time.
It worries me that Dark Souls 3 has dual wielding built into certain weapons, and the whole "weapon arts" thing. I really hope that doesn't interfere with the ambidextrous thing Dark Souls 2 had going on.
I liked being able to two hand a shield and bash with it. I want that expanded on with running barge attacks and shit.
>play any From game
>realize when a boss winds up you need to start spamming dodge
>ludwig winds up
>spam dodge away from him
>learn what it does
I guess for the cawodoody crowd who got it for christmas, this is a hard concept.
>2 perfect pomf radials in a row
AW FUCK YEAH NIGGA
The short of it? He takes ideas from crowds like 4chan, reddit, and other youtube channels doing similar things, and tries to grab ad revenue and Patreon dollars by claiming it as his own "unique work".
He's flat-out admitted to plagiarizing other people's work when he was new and didn't have his undeserved subscriber base. Come recently, his Bloodborne works were accused of plagiarizing content. He tried to deny it, but was found out pretty quickly when several parts of his videos matched that of other videos posted before his, and several things in his video came word for word from some autists 90-page lore primer.
Also, he doesn't like OnlyAfro, which just goes to show he's tasteless. :^)
Is it me or does the Bowblade's sword moveset suck ass?
>Get invaded while you're in a dark hole
>Decide to keep smacking the damage sponge instead of getting to a better spot to fight in or at least keep a better eye/ear out for the elevator
Hosts are all shit.
>using anything other than bow mode
It's like you hate fun or something.
Does he get stronger when he becomes Beast Eater?
In any case, I found he needs a little help sometimes, because he forgets to use Blood Vials in Phase 2 for whatever reason.
Why does harfly anyone use beast cutter on str builds?
>staggers absolutly fucking everything
>great complimentary weapon to the whirligig saw
According to ENB's 2.0 toilet paper guide he does, yes.
I'm just going to kill him with a +4 saw cleaver, I have beast blood pellets can can operate the circle button after all
Should work. Little bit of RNG with Valtr but he does consistently well; I haven't been able to see him "solo" Ludwig as some here claim, but poking and getting Ludwig's attention helps a lot.
That's my BL35 with +3 Sawspear and Fire Paper.
My current character is using the BEAST CUTTAH as his primary weapon, with a KIRKHAMMAH as his secondary weapon.
Topping it off with a CANNON as his primary firearm and a GATLIN' GUN as his secondary firearm. It's unimaginable amounts of fun, man.
There's not a single thing I don't love about the BEAST CUTTAH, to be honest. I nabbed it on my first playthrough of the game and fell in love with it instantly. It's...it's mai weaponfu.
Threaded Cane: The definition of style and formality
Beast Cutter: GET OUT OF MY WAY FUCKING BEAST SHITS WRAAAAAARGH
Is there any real use for this? Never seen an Abyssal offshape before.
That's what I thought too.
Well I guess it was a cool novelty find.
>perfect blunt triangle drops on my SKL/BLT build
>Even when I had farmed it on my other character for 3 days straight and got to the point where I thought they didn't exist
Considering suicide tbqh
What are the Shadows of Yharnam? How do they fit into the story?
Two of the less common meanings of "shadow" is "protection or shelter" and "an inseparable attendant or companion".
They always make an appearance before Pthumerian Queen Yharnam makes an appearance.
>spend months only ever using Burial Blade and Gehrman's Set
>fucking love his whole aesthetic
>character is even called Gehrman and looks exactly like him
>Decide to fuck around on my BLT character with my Dual Pistols
>get Bloodletter, not because I want it, but because I just wanted to finish off all the quests with this character
>put some shitty 20% gems in it
>go test it out
>it hits harder than Burial Blade
>it also uses less stamina than my Burial Blade
>my Burial Blade has korean tier gems in it
>if I got the 31% BLT gems, I'd be literally one shotting people with my L2 and two shotting with r1
This is fucking bullshit.
I'm actually pissed off right now. Usually I wouldn't care, but there is almost no downside to this fucking weapon. It's fast as fuck. Has a great moveset. Hits like a fucking freight train and staggers just as much.
Only thing is, it looks like shit imo.
Fuck you, FROM.
>tricking it costs a fuckton of HP up-front and it's hard to aim the transformation attack in PvP due to latency
>the delay on the transformation attack makes it unreliable to land in PvE like all delayed transformation attacks
>it scales with two different stats meaning you either HAVE to go STR or BLT, no hybrid unless you go to a far higher level
>L2 starts frenzy build-up, has a very long wind-up and can be avoided by anyone with a brain
>is also far, far less stylish and aesthetically pleasing than the burial blade and has far less rally potential
I dunno, man.
No. Layer 3/4 bosses in depth 5 dungeons will always have a chance to drop rocks. The limited rocks come from chests in the depth 5 dungeons. One per dungeon. Any more that can potentially spawn will be replaced by Great One's Wisdoms.
Yeah, but once you trick it once. It will stay tricked. Even if you die.
I never use the transform attack because I'm full BLT. And the scaling only applies to the different forms. i.e. the Transformed mode is only BLT Scaling. And the Frenzy Build up is easy to get rid of by wearing armour with high Frenzy Resist or by having next to no insight.
I have 10 Insight, using Brador Hat, Brador Chest and Ashen Gloves and Boots. And I don't get Frenzy by activating the L2. And it hits for about 1k with my shitty gems and only 40 BLT.
