>I feel like STR builds are horribly outmatched in terms of damage
"Every Great One loses its child, and then yearns for a surrogate, and Oedon, the formless Great One, is no different. To think, it was corrupted blood that began this eldritch liaison."
This is an excerpt from the description of the 1/3 Cord you get from killing Arianna's "child".
From what I've gathered, the information we have on Mergo and the identity of his father is far too open-ended and ambiguous to have an exact answer.
>Oedon impregnated Yharnam, and another Great One ripped him from her uterus
>Oedon impregnated Arianna, and you killed the child
>Oedon impregnated Yharnam, but Yharnam did not want to give the child to him, and he ripped it from her, killing the child in the process, and losing it, hence the description
The possibilities are endless, and it seems with no more DLC coming in, we will never have closure on this.
>play through game to get Chikage
>level up to 100 with with 20 skill 50 blt
>fight tooth and nail through many a story chalice
>golden scabbard is ugly and gaudy, levitates a foot away from my hip
>moveset feels like ass, doesn't step forward enough when attacking
>"uber high blt damage omg" doesn't feel that high compared to normal weapons
>reach Rakuyo after deciding to do dlc, play around with it
>looks way better and color matches my set
>moveset feels great, lands most hits and has sweeping attacks for crowds
>no damage because already blt
>mfw I hate the Chikage and love the Rakuyo
>mfw I can't change my stats (Dark Souls 2 did something right?)
>mfw I would need to start over and redo everything I've done
I want to make an arc build to try out the parasite, but I got a few questions first. What level should you be when doing the dlc on a new character, because when I first did the dlc I was ng++ so it was at a pretty high level. Also where should I allocate my points into, (besides arc of course), because I heard the parasite takes quite a bit of stamina to swing. Thirdly, will I have to do a lot of chalice dungeon grinding for it to be viable?
Not talking about damage. I want the gun version of augur of ebrietas that I can use to put some one on their ass once I've swung my stamina into oblivion with the kirkhammer.
Takes like less than a day if you know what you're doing, even less you you don't grab every single item in the area/optional bosses. I can do in it less then 12 doing everything barring CDs. Gotta work for that build
also I should try speedrunning BB
Really though, if you're talking about in PvE, the blunderbuss is great for firing twice or so after you run out of stamina to stunlock enemies and then stunlock them all over again.
>Level for DLC in NG?
50-75, for Arc, I'd get some half-assed (10-18%) gems from CD's first.
As always, Vit to your desired cap first, then End/Damage stats. Once you start getting gems you could also put into damage, but there's no big point.
>Lots of CD grinding?
Yes, but only for the Parasite? Not so much unless you wanted to use other Arc weapons.
As far as End, I have a BL137 (99 arc) that has 12 End. I would advise to ~20. I use no stam runes though, as I use Oedon Writhe and 1 stam for PvP or all 3 Oedon Writhe.
I also advise against a 99 arc or don't do it altogether, but I just find it very boring unless you're doing random invasions.
I didn't check my time until after I got my gems (and I was making the 1st CD guide), so I may have been standing around a bit.
Everyone should be fine to do it all in less than 20 hours though.
137 so you don't lose damage when co-oping with 98's.
Yeah that's pretty fucking garbage. Does it open if you get Loran chalice and leave BSB alive? If we had some hint that it was sealed to those without a chalice it would be one thing, but that's easily the worst level design in BB.
Much needs to be explained. Why was Mergo the source of the nightmare? Why did he make it? Paleblood, the Moon Presence, why did he create the Hunter's Dream? Why does he accepts us taking Gehrman place in the dream if the nightmare is over?
I think its because you can't use the chalice you get from Ebrietas unless you do a lot of dungeon diving. It is pretty awful design though. It'd be better if the dweller gave you a key after you send a person or two to the Chapel.
>Why do the doors to the upper cathedral ward open after you've beaten BSB?
Because bagmen fucks from Yahargul swarm the streets after you kill BSB. One of them forgot to close the door behind him.
There was actually an interesting theory I had heard that stated that the MP is an evil Great One, antagonistic to the rest. The theory stated that the MP started the beast scourge in Loran, which created lightning beasts (Paarl, Loran Darkbeast, Abhorrent Beast). The lightning beasts then slaughtered the Great Ones en masse, and their children. There's more to this theory that I don't remember, but I think the MP cares not for a surrogate child, but only knowledge and power.
You regret it because you don't have either 16 or 20 str to use the good str/arc weapons.
If you hate it that bad just restart.
Also, why 28 End?
I main Str shit and don't go over 25.
Normal for both.
Blt will want the Lost Bow.
Hey, can I get a helping hand at rom? my weapons are like potato to him.
Im at the lamp, (Everything is open and done) Password is rom
I suppose it's Gehrman's doing. He's the one that urges you to take that path after proving yourself by acquiring a chalice, and talks all that shit about workshops and hunters.
>and rule Yharnam alone
Nigga, this isn't lord of the rings.
>There's more to this theory that I don't remember, but I think the MP cares not for a surrogate child, but only knowledge and power.
Directly contradicts the game. EVERY Great One yearns for a surrogate. We clearly see MP embracing you and keeping you in the dream (or at least attempting to).
Yes and? Original question was about open door, not choir allegiances.
The question was kind of wrong though because you can't get to upper cathedral anyway till you get the key much later.
But when you kill BSB there's a bagman on the 'cliff' above Yahragul entrance, one bit closer to Cathedral ward, near one of it's entrances and one that crossed that door and left it open is roaming the street below where you drop down and kill Beast possessed soul.
That's why the door leading to abandoned workshop / upper cathedral is open.
Then why is the MP repelled by you when you have imbibed the umbilical cords? You were going to turn into an infant great one at any point. If it truly wanted a child, it would not have tried to kill you.
The Moon Presence sees all other Great Ones as a threat to it's rise in power. Why does the Moon Presence want power. I'm not quite certain, but it would be far more than ruling Yharnam. Hell, what is in Yharnam to rule? Beast and madmen?
But I'm certain the MP's goals are far more significant than Yharnam and a child.
>fire paper and bolt paper are usable items with no stat requirement
>add 80 fire and 80 bolt to weapon respectively
>Empty Phantasm Shell has an arcane requirement and uses up bullets
>add 80 arcane to weapon
>Then why is the MP repelled by you when you have imbibed the umbilical cords?
Because you've gained eyes on the inside and the potential to resist him with your insight.
>You were going to turn into an infant great one at any point. If it truly wanted a child, it would not have tried to kill you.
Do you have a source to back that up? As soon as it realizes it cant have you as a child it tries to murder you.
This is the danger in trying to pass off fanfiction as fact.
So I've killed Yharnam but I've also joined the League.
Will I have the title of Queenslayer or Confederate?
Why do you think that a transcendental, multidimensional divine monstrosity of space and time would have a motivation we could understand? Them being incomprehensible is half the point of the whole narrative.
They want surrogate kids. Why? because they're destined to lose their own. Why does that matter to them? Goodness knows.
It's babythirsty. That's about the gist of what we can understand of it.
i wasted 4 points in skill should i just make a new character?
You're a retard. People have already explained what it's doing but you don't want to listen.
Great Ones want surrogate children and see that child in humans. The Moon Presence keeps Gehrman trapped in the dream as it's kid. Great Ones don't give a flying fuck about other Great Ones and it doesn't care if Gehrman sends out hunters to kill them.
Yeah, just like the Book of Job. Wirtten by hacks with no talent relying on literal deus ex machina to cover their lack of writing ability.
I mean, something that humans can't gain mastery of just by thinking a little harder? Total bullshit, no such thing exists.
>you can't cheese Abhorrent Beast in the dungeons with poison knives
>As soon as it realizes it cant have you as a child it tries to murder you.
By that logic, everything it can't have as a child it would murder. Gehrman wasn't it's child, why is he not dead? Why did the MP not try to murder him?
The Moon Presence's intentions are far more sinister than seeking a child. Assuming it yearns for a child, then that would be to preserve the Great Ones' existence, no? Then why did it raise the scourge in Loran? Why did it let the lightning beasts slaughter all of the others? Why did it try to murder you when it realized you were to become a Great One?
They're obviously better than you, faggot
>By that logic, everything it can't have as a child it would murder. Gehrman wasn't it's child, why is he not dead? Why did the MP not try to murder him?
Gherman was its surrogate child trapped in the dream you illiterate fuck.
I am including gems, turd.
Yes you can.
Farm Undead Giants (Twin Scythe variant)
Why? Looks just like mine, but I have 42 Vit, 25 End, and 15 Skl. I do just fine.
>Farm Undead Giants (Twin Scythe variant)
Undead giants drop much weaker adepts than watchers.
You're looking at a difference of 33% from watchers vs 28%+ a secondary from giants. Watchers are also a quicker and easier farm.
>Undead giants drop much weaker adepts than watchers.
This is why I specifically said Twin Scythe. Cannon/Cleaver drops up to 29%.
I've done them all for hours, trust me.
Or not, I don't care, I have about 8 32% gems.
Ebrietas tried to coexist with the humans of the choir, Kos granted the fishing hamlet eldritch truth and then died, Mother Brain is pure concentrated evil, and Moon Presence is the one that created a dream because it's actual baby died.
There's also the distinct possibility that the big mensis brain is actually an amalgamation of ascended mensis scholars, hence why it's so 'rotten'
The line in the english about it being 'found' in the nightmare is a bit misleading. It means found as in you'd only find such a brain within a nightmare, not in the sense that it was discovered there.
For this, I honestly don't know which would be better, farming offshape or farming what is basically an offshape in competition with other types of gems that drop.
I don't have it on me, but can post it in an hour, maybe 75 minutes.
You can poison them in 5 poison knives if you want to avoid the berserk phase, just also shoot them with BMA pistols.
I wouldn't say minimum, but depending on your stam mitigation, 20-25 is probably best.
I have gotten my ass handed to me Kirk vs Kirk by someone with only 12 or 15 stam though. I can't remember if it was that Aussie or not, so there might have been more at play.
I'll reply to your post. It's e32something.
I got it. Then I guess, like in every other souls game, we are just way over our heads in shit and just keep going killing everything because 'why not?'. Cool setting though, more interesting thats DS to tell the truth.
you really need to shut the fuck up with your atrocious min max bullshit you keep spouting. At soon as you see some one with more than 15 END post their build, your faggot ass comes along and shitpost the general up with "no need for more than base endurance". Your just as bad, if not WORSE than luci. At least the tripfag tries to help people.
okay, it looks like Ludwig is just not destined to be defeated by me
I've wasted all of my BB pellets on him which makes the one reborn fight thrice as lenghty when I get myself out of the DLC
farthest I've got is the 2nd phase, and then I just got dunked on again
I'm loving this, it has to be my favourite boss fight in the soulsborne games, but I'm getting mildly frustrated after almost 4 hours of not being able to defeat him
>stand in front of her
>dodge to her rear
>attack how many times you see fit
>jump behind her
>she does things, if it's a slow attack you can continue striking her, if she does a 360 repeat step 3
What is your favorite weapon in terms of moveset, /bbg/? Regardless of how good/bad the weapon actually is.
For me it would be the Beast Cutter; there is something extremely satisfying about using its tricked mode. If the tricked R2 attacks were faster it would be downright broken.
>kill CB and daddy
>open up the gate in Cathedral Ward
>run through Hunter's Nightmare
It's possible in less than an hour if you're not a scrub
I'm okay with them being as slow as they are, but I just wish the hitbox lingered a little bit. It always burns seeing someone dodge forward through an R2 as it slams down and still being in the weapon's collision when it hits the ground, but safe because the hitbox expires so early. Especially considering the fact that the recovery has hyperarmor for some reason, so if somebody punishes you with a saif or rakuyo, they can get 2 or 3 hits while you're animation locked without staggering you.
Also if the tricked R1s had faster recovery, they'd be perfect.
Take a break and come back. I put off fighting him for 2 days after he beat me to a pulp time after time and when I came back I got him first try.
I like the Blades of Mercy because of how smooth all the attacks chain together. I still need to play around more with the dlc weapons before I have a true favorite.
>butcher Ludwig, easy
>grind Living Failures to dust, no problem
>absolutely wreck Maria, barely tried
>can't last 10 seconds against Orphan
This isn't a difficulty spike, this is a mountain. Is there some trick to it I'm just not getting (besides getting gud)? Should I just give up and go play Undertale or something instead?
It floats like a full foot or more away from my hip, though my character has a build of 0. I'm >>128669621
As you'll see in my post, it's also a nasty gold color that doesn't fit any attire except the Cainhurst stuff.
No. Your arc cane will be complete shit basically for the whole of the main game.
There's a nourishing radial and an arcane droplet in mensis which you can use to cover your raidal slots for the purpose of chalice dungeons.
hmm, sounds like something I should try out then, I've never had troubles fighting her so I didn't try to come up with strategies
Sadly I accidentally skipped the DLC on my first playtrough and now as I'm playing NG+ I feel like I'm at a disadvantage, I like the challenge but I've said it's getting frustrating. I'll do what you said and take a break and try again tommorow.
I don't understand how you think 20 end will fix that. At most, 18 extra stamina will get you one more swing on a heavy weapon (untricked saif, your threshold, gets one more R1 before hitting negative stamina). Str weapons are meant to hit hard. You don't need to R1 spam in this game.
Kirk tricked R1s get exactly 3 swings at 12 end with a rune. At 20 with the same rune, you get 4 before going into negative stamina. Do you think you can accomplish anything great with that 4th swing in your R1 mash?
>always got to 2nd phase without any problems
>got one shot like 3 times right at the start of phase 2 before I learned how to evade the arcane attack
it took me a good hour, but it was a fun fight
I'm retarded, sorry, got it confused with Micolash.
/bbg/ what is the best level for pvp and invasions? I already have a BL98 hunter, should I make a twink?
Which build have you had the most fun with, /bbg/?
Pic related. I love squeezing slugs and throwing fire at werewolves/aliens.
>get 2 or 3 hits while you're animation locked without staggering you.
something I noticed when I fight people with the beast cutter is that they rarely punish my R2s almost as if they think Im gonna swing again. I use it a lot for hyperarmor because it has a lot of that.
It's just plain bad in pvp. Not tonitrus-tier by any means but most of the tricked attacks are punishable on reaction and it has very few moves that are safe to use. If you have it properly gemmed, you can still find success with it, there's few things more satisfying than baiting someone into a 700 damage R2
hard to say but equally on my skill and str/blt characters. Styling on people with my rakuyo and reiter on my skill and shootbangs with my gatling and blood mace on my str/blt one
>go to 98
you mean 100 or 98 caused I'm already 98
I find it to be a pretty good weapon actually. Rakuyo users r1 spam more than they L2 spam and after using the rakuyo and fighting this guy who wouldnt stop R1ing with his boom hammer I actually couldnt touch him until he stopped spamming because I was out of bullets. The L2 is interrupted by any heavy weapon
Mensis is a bunch of lunatics who think attaching cages to their heads is cool, stitch together a bunch of body parts together to make what they hope to be old ones, and shake umbilical chords to talk with dead eldritch babies.
Don't grant them eyes.
Gilbert, the guy at the window that gives you some lore exposition and the flamethrower. He gets sicker as the night progresses, until finally you turn the moon to blood and he turns into a beast that you have to put down.
That's just how it plays out in Souls games m8.
A friend of mine nearly pulled his hair out while fighting Ebrietas, I beat her on my first try. Reverse that whole situation for the fight against Lady Maria.
fuck it, it's 4am
clearly the game is telling me to go the fuck to sleep
Every instance got things worse.
Byrgenworth: Unveiled the Great Ones
The Healing Church: Abused the Old Blood
Mensis: Gave birth to the nightmare
So I'd say Mensis, they were deliberately fucking everything up. The other two at least had good intentions.
Those are for radials, just a heads up. Twin Scythe DO spawn in Isz, though. Got my last gem of the night from one. The spreadsheet should have some glyphs for them.
They did, but I dare say to you, if we humans would to find some hidden ayy lmao and it went public most of earth would hail it as God, the other half would call it Satan. Byrgenworth was not so far from us.
No, if you're going to invade in that range you want 70 max, 80 is a little high. You'll generally be invading people in late-game NG; Yahar'gul, Mensis, Hunter's Nightmare, places like that. It's also not a dueling meta at all, it's just for random invasions. And maybe co-op if you're some kind of faggot.
Same tradition, different philosophies.
Byrgensworth did horrid shit in Fishing Hamlet and mostly looked inward to find answers to the cosmos.
The healing church abused the blood, brought about the beast scourge and suppressed it as best as possible with the equivalent to hired killers.
Mensis actively kidnapped and murdered people to see what happened and brought the blood moon down.
>About being Van Helsing and killing monsters
>Midway through it turns into a Dream H.P. Lovecraft convention for ayyy lmaos
I just wanted to kill monsters
why the fuck do we need to bring faggot shit about aliens into this
literally directly above and below Vicar Amelia are two fucking ayy lmaos
this meme isn't even good
Sure, but they were all chasing the same knowledge and none of their hands were clean. It was the same drive in each area, just increasingly large applications of that drive, with a seeming increase in disregard for human life as well as successive organizations chased after the dream of ascension.
>The upper echelons of the Healing Church are formed by the School of Mensis, based in the Unseen Village, and the Choir occupying the Upper Cathedral Ward.
From the UCW key.
>Implying the giant ayy lmaos didn't make the game more interesting
You stupid bitch.
You STUPID BITCH.
fucking NO ONE.
SWEAR TO GOD
WHERE THE FUCK DO PEOPLE GET THIS "KOSM" MEME
IT'S NOT FUNNY
IT'S NOT ACCURATE
IT'S NOT REAL
STOP SAYING KOSM
if ONE MORE of you little fuckers says KOSM instead of KOS this WHOLE FUCKING THREAD is going straight to the nightmare, so help me GOD
what the FUCK
And who is that "hamlet elder" ? Just some hick lost in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, Micolash is over here being a world renowned expert on Kosm after studying very hard for years. Fuck off
>28.7 then a 27.7
I-I swear I wasn't lying.
Do you think they changed the drops at some point? I wouldn't have this glyph up to farm still if it doesn't drop max gems.
Even if there were theoretically strife between Mensis and the Choir, they'd still both be part of the Church and people continuing the mission of the Church and Byrgenworth before it. They'd just be having an internal schism. Which is already implied by them having two separate headquarters and seeming to chase two different methods of ascension.
I feel like they must at least co-exist well, though, because as we know from Arianna, Baby Bris get made when the red moon comes low, and the moon comes low when Mensis does a ritual to bait it in.
KOS means 'King Of Sea'. Old Byrgenwerth scientists thought it was the masterpiece living beast of the sea, so they named it like that, or KOS.
Long after, the Choir developed the theory with their knowledge on aliens. They defined KOS as the king of the matrix of the sea, the matrix of everything within the sea, so KOSM. It was a famous concept in the school of mensis and the choir.
Sitting at 50 VIT, 20 END, and 50 ARC on my mage build
Still have four levels to toss around somewhere
Is there any point in pushing ARC up to 54? VIT? Build's pretty much set, so I don't quite know what to do with those last four levels
That explains literally nothing. I don't know why I asked, pic related sums it up perfectly.
Any weapon except the threaded cane will work for the dlc. Your skill is more of a factor than the weapon you're using.
use saif or church pick
you should not waste 12 str on tonitrus for an arcane build
if you have a reason to level str other than tonitrus, like meme blade then go ahead
Threaded Cane will serve you better in the long run
Tonitrus starts strong, then weakens out as you get better, whereas the Cane is lackluster at first but becomes fucking great as you level it
Kos, and other aliens carry umbilical cords, special parasites that allow the direct merge/graft of 'organs' (eye/brain, blood/blood, body/plant, ect..).
After many tries, the graft of eyes became the more efficient to discover the eldrich truth in the labyrinth and so summoning stronger beasts/aliens from the nightmare (from the amygdala's memory or in the labyrinth).
Well keep in mind I'm already level 81 with 62 ARC. I just want weapons for each type of damage (I have Kos Parasite for ARC and a Saw Spear with fire gems).
That being said, and with a blatant no to Tonitrus, should I use the Hunter's Axe or Threaded Cane w/ lightning gems?
>Any weapon except the threaded cane will work for the dlc. Your skill is more of a factor than the weapon you're using.
Isn't the Reiterpallasch basically the only good non DLC skill weapon though?
Why do people say the Hunter's hand turns beastly for a moment when they perform viscerals? I've watched it in slow motion and I don't see it transform in the slightest. I guess extending your fingers to mimic a claw is a transformation.
you can use anything you want with lightning gems, it doesn't matter
I wouldn't recommend tonitrus as it's more of a weapon to carry you through pve for a wheel build, but putting an extra point in skl just to use saif was definitely worth it for me
Were viscerals originally intended to grab beast organs to use as an item later or something because it looks weird as just an attack and it'd make way more sense if it previously did that
dont b talkin shit bout mai waifu
Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt!
But you were never killing monsters to begin with.
Before playing the game I always thought thought he had the Gatling gun slung over his shoulder in this picture, I thought it was the coolest thing.
Then I was slightly disappointed.
So I just finished the game for the first time (refused Gehrman) and I'm feeling kind of deflated.
What was the point of it all. What was the significance of killing Rom, Micolash and Wet Nurse if the dream never ends? I feel like I missed a ton or don't get it or something.
Why do people say Ebrietas is hard? She's pretty straightforward and Damian makes her completely trivial, but I remember watching a SunlightBlade video or some shit where he claims that it's HARDEST BOSS EVA M8 HAD TO SUMMON SWEAR ON ME MUM.
What is it in people's brains that makes them flop around like a fish out of water during a pretty basic fight?
Why are you so aggressive over someone's opinion?
It mostly depends on what kind of build you have, and whether her hitboxes are feeling merciful or not. Her charge attack is bullshit, for example.
I went to Cainhurst but got lost, I know I missed at least half of it, and never saw Upper Ward.
I went in totally blind and I'm completely garbage at navigation and exploration, surprised I even got through it.
>HMS wouldn't even work on an arcane build
>Want to do COOP
>get summoned by vilecunt near the grand cathedral
>stay near those frenzy church guys
>guy is too afraid to come out of the cathedral
>literally sit down
>he manages to kill the church guys
>go do the same thing but near the giant
>eventually the vilecunt kills me
>but gets buttfucked by the giant
I hope it was one of you
Cainhurst is literally the most straightforward area in the game, so that's kind of embarrassing.. Did you ever find Eileen, the Old Abandoned Workshop, or any of the Umbilical Cords besides the one Micolash drops? To get to Upper Cathedral Ward, try exploring all of the Unseen Village instead of rushing through at the more dangerous parts towards the begging.
There's a key you missed and it's very well hidden.
The key to the secret ending is finding and using at least three of the Umbilical Cords.
that subtle bait tho
works fine on my arc build
I'll pick the game up again later on, I'm sure it'll be more fulfilling.
I really am that bad at navigation. Let's see, I went through the courtyard with the fuckface blood sack guys, castle hallway, upstairs, the hallways with all the midgets and screaming bitches, gargoyles outside, bottom floor outside, the elevator that goes back to the courtyard.
I noticed in the courtyard there's a lit part of the castle and an unlit part which I feel like I missed, couldn't find a way in. Fuck it I'll read a guide or something.
>bloodrage fury mode
I was being completely serious, his fight was just too ridiculous for me thematically. There's nothing really cool about Gehrman in his old age, but they make him flip around like some naive teen's fantasy persona. It was just too funny to take seriously.
yeah man people will totally agree with you. Nobody is against you and your shitty opinion. I think youre the only person I've heard that doesnt like gehrman
No, there aren't really many anime archetypes that match exactly what Gehrman is. More like, he was "too much like a young anime fan's depiction of a cool character". Gehrman has no substance, all of his "coolness" is supposed to represented in his final fight against you.
Maybe you didnt happen to notice the 786 damage I got out of that jump attack? I got to shill to show you its pretty good on an arc build
If you're using the HMS you're likely using the R2, which is pure ARC beamspammu. You really don't need much in STR/SKL (literally 25/12) to give it some help, and you should be using nourishing gems anyways.
I could source you the numerous posts detailing builds around the HMS, but you'll just >reddit and continue with shit strawman and cherrypicking
Ah, I misspoke. Earlier I said Gehrman in his old age isn't cool, that post was supposed to be an extension of that. Gehrman was something else in his youth, I'm talking about two different entities of the same person.
Mergo was stillborn, and was likely cut from Yharnam's womb. The Yharnam stone has what looks like a fetus embedded in it: this is Mego's body. Mergo was the source of the Nightmare because the Mensis school used a Cord of the Eye to establish contact with him, not realizing that he existed in the Nightmare only as an echo."The Cord granted Mensis audience with Mergo, but resulted in the stillbirth of their brains." The ritual killed nearly everyone in Yahar'gul, trapping Micolash's mind in the Nightmare and birthing the Brain of Mensis from the rest of the slain.
>skipped dark souls 2
>playing it after bloodborne
were these animations always this bad
was it always this slow
why is it so ugly
why is it so floaty
where is the fun
I could swear my attacks had impact and non-clunky looking animations in dark souls 1 but goddamn. This feels like I'm playing an old Gothic game again or something.
>posting le pepe
are people this much of inferiority to post their shitty memes?
READY FOR HOT OBJECTIVE OPINIONS?
Bloodborne + TOH > Dark Souls 1 PTDE > Dark Souls 1 > DeS > Bloodborne >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dark Souls 2 SotFS > Dark Souls 2
everything is just a hair apart for eachother except for 2
>getting meme triggered by post-gehrman reddit frogs f a m memes
Idunno. I almost feel pressured to go back and play dark souls 1 to see if it just feels like shit now too.
It really sucks because I like das2's vikingsy shit and want to like the game but it doesn't feel right to play at all.
>were these animations always this bad

>was it always this slow
>why is it so ugly

>where is the fun
I have five extra points on my Skill-based that I don't know where I should put into for 110 PVP. 40 vitality already feels like it does it's job for me, and 20 endurance sometimes feels lacking unless I'm packing some runes. Should I put on Vit or End?
That's one of the major thematic elements of the game. You're the Chosen Undead who doesn't hollow while all your friends and mentors around you leave Firelink only to die by your blade later on.
And it all culminates into you either being the human torch in a secret chamber so far underground, or the darkest dankest extreme edgelord that everyone around you turns into spoopy ghosts.
in DkS1 I feel crazy despair
in DeS I feel loneliness as the design of the game makes it feel like it's an MMO (the hub world for example, is very big but pretty empty)
BB just feels very dark and distant
DeS next-gen re
So I'm doing a Burial Blade run shortly.
Problem is, I don't know what would be an appropriate stat spread to maximize its use, nor do I know what weapon I should use up until I get it that would make use of the recommended stat spread.
Any advice /bbg/?
>Any weapon except the threaded cane will work for the dlc.
Why not the cane? And what are even other options you can get before endgame? The selection for skill weapons seems to be very lacking earlier on.
Lvl 48 and Amy is just slapping the shit out of me.....I know the weakspots but even that isn't enough.
I'm hoping I'm underleveled because now it's just embarrassing
This is a dumb question, but would it be possible to get a Lost Chikage through chalices before you even go to Cainhurst? Like, can you only get it in FRC or can any root dungeon have one?
I just feel bored in DaS2.
>nobody's dialog changes
>nobody has a quest
>everyone lingers around Majula
>the one person you Crushed Eye invade you don't even know why
>when you do find out it's barely an implied line of text in her loot
>grind souls to go to the castle
>go to the castle
>go steal the dead king's ring
>go back to the castle
>sit in a dank cave for the rest of your life
When I killed Gwyn the buildup and the ending made me feel things, but when I finished DaS2 all I could think about was "when will I get that trophy so I can go play Bloodborne"
it's a little late for that since the character is already made and halfway through the game and I don't see why I should lose the hunter tools for a few extra points in one weapon out of many that I can use for Skill builds.
THE WET NURSE IS ACTUALLY EILEEN
>Adella, Yuri, Iosefka, and Annalise all remain human despite their exposure to old blood
>Hemwick witches and the eye gouging witches all remain human
>women are actually immune to beasthood transformations
>only men can transform into beasts
>Amelia is actually a QT trap
