It's better with Arc at a minimum, like 14 or 15, 50 str and 25 skl.
Tricked gives ~40% arcane buff to attacks (scaling with arc stat?), but it's nothing compared to the scaling of Str/Skl.
==== REMINDER ===
YOU ARE DOING YOURSELF A LARGE DISSERVICE BY USING FEXTRA OVER WIKIDOT
NEXT TIME YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOOK SOMETHING UP, GO TO WIKIDOT
IF THE CONTENT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR DOESN'T EXIST THEN RIP IT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CORRESPONDING FEXTRA PAGE AND COPY-PASTE IT TO WIKIDOT
yeah man, it's set as "bbg".
did you input it that way exactly (minus the quotation marks, of course)? i heard that the password is case sensitive.
also, turns out im level 59, and not 57, if that changes anything
Actually, in tricked mode the bonus is enough to make the arc scaling > skl scaling.
So an untricked HMS benefits more from 25 skl, while a tricked one benefits more from 25 arcane.
Strength is still the best scaling stat in both forms, though.
Yes, based on which form you prefer.
Actually looking at the guide scans, it seems that strength after 25 doesn't scale as well as skl (or arc in tricked mode) before 25. So the actual optimal might be something like 50/25/25.
Unfortunately this'd put you at an obscene level, and 25/25/25 would basically be optimal for absolutely nothing except the HMS itself, so 50/25/min or 50/min/25 is probably your best bet if you want the build to use literally any other possible weapon.
Just to add, 50/25 is generally preferred because it'll be optimal for every single str-leaning quality weapon, of which there are many. The untricked version of the HMS, which has that godlike R2 thrust, will get the most out of this and the tricked form will be almost identical in terms of damage output (only slightly less) for all but the R2 projectiles when compared to a more arc-focused build.
There's pretty much no weapon in the game besides the HMS that actually benefits from having both strength and arc (I think boomhammer, tonitrus and wheel are the only ones, so 50/-/25 will basically be HMS-only. The difference in damage on most attacks will be marginal so this is pretty much only for maximizing the tricked R2 damage.
>ds3 gets released

>tfw the doll is so happy to see you but cant express it

I posted this and i gave myself a case of the feels. For some reason posring that and thinking about how the doll would feel made me feel really lonely. I know i should fuck off to r9k with this feels BS but /bbg/ is my home ;_;
>tfw bowled over the defiled chalice with pure arcane might

i love this, with how goofy he is and how he's just plain silly and shit and how everybody is trying to get right up in his shit and they can't do anything it gets hysterically funny to me for some reason
NO ONE CAN CATCH US :''))))
So with frenzy and the fact you have less resistance when you have more insight meant to be like because you know more whe you come across something that overloads you with knowledge you get more and more questions but less answers as you have more knowledge or something?
Whereas if you have low insight your basically too stupid to care or something?
Why are executioners and the healing church so gay?
Can I get some help killing ludwig? I am a shit and he ruins my anus every time.
if anyone can im just chillin in front of his boss area, i'll put on a password "ludwig".
Do you think David Bowie's last videos wer einspired by Bloodborne?

Blacksy eye, Exec gloves, accursed brew, auger
1st slot generic ranged pressure/poking. Basically used how a blt build would use their evelyn
2nd slot setup spell. Use whenever you've got space to set up combos with other things. If they approach head-on, attack and punish their dodge-through; if they dodge sidewards, cycle to 3rd slot and lead them with a manual aimed brew; if they back off and run them out, reset to 1st slot and wait for them to man back up.
3rd slot, combo with 2nd slot setup under certain circumstances, otherwise use to punish dodge attack spamming or reactive players by leading a manually aimed shot
4th slot melee spell. Swap to this when in fast, close-up fights and don't have the space or time to cast anything else. Use where appropriate to parry obvious attacks. Don't hit that button unless you're reasonably certain that it'll score a parry. If they try to back off, cycle to slot 1 and catch their disengage with the eye.
Put ACB in the 1st slot of your personal effects and use it occasionally in combination with exec gloves when you know your opponent is too passive to go in but doesn't have the space to run.
2nd personal effects slot for OHB. Pop at your leisure if you think it'll make a difference
last personal effects slot for beast roar, so you can quickly bring up the menu, tap left and click to use it when the chance to knock someone off a death drop arises.
Tawny Tinitruss isn't very useful so I don't bother including it in quicklsots. If you really wanted to, put it after brew, before auger and use it for bad approaches, like people who try running attacks or habitually dodge directly forward/backwards
Thank you doll bro, you are the true hero.
This "The brains are mounted on doll bodies" meme needs to die. They're wearing the same uniform as micolash, just with more tatters on the fabric and bloodstains.
Brain dudes are just mensis guys that got the eyes they wanted. They aren't dolls.
Blacksky is my main use so far
If you think you can hit them with it, then you go with Augur, that has the best damage per bullet
Executioner's Gloves for anything that's moving around too fast to get a good bead on it with Blacksky
Call Beyond for the panic 'it needs to die NOW' button
I've just unlocked my first CRF dungeon. If I'm using physical weapons, should I be aiming for the 27% physical gems or is it worth going for the 23% physical gems for the secondary effect? Are the secondary effects worth the ~5% drop in power?
>DS2 hunter set description: An old armor that is oddly comfortable. Belonged to a Hunter. To this day, the forbidden love of Prince of Alken and the Princess of Venn manipulates these marionettes. Surely they never imagined that their dolls would outlast their own kingdoms
>Gehrman was the first hunter of the church
>Maria was the princess of Cainhurst

>gehrman was sent by the church to kill the orphan and take the cord
>because of this all hunters were forever cursed to enter the nightmare
>Maria kills herself at the atrocity at the Hamlet
>Gehrman out of extreme guilt sacrificed himself to the Moon Presence just to try and revive her and keep future hunters safe with the dream
>Gehrman is responsible for giving byrgenwerth the cord and starting the whole ritual as well
>this is why he fights to keep you out of the dream, because he feels it's all his fault
Maybe that's why he cries out for Laurence and Ludwig to hurry up, they went into the nightmare to stop the curse, but just ended up becoming blood-addled beasts.
That poor man.
Yeah, I just did a str build and even though it was fun it really made me miss my skill weapons but since I fucked up the stats on my skill build I feel like I need to start a new skill build
For the honor of Cainhurst senpai
>mfw using a call beyond on Amy for the first time
The strength weapons in bb are pretty conservative. The largest thing you slam around is the kirkhammer, and it's pretty small compared to most strength weapons in souls games. They definitely tried to be a little more grounded with the size of objects you bludgeon things with, which naturally means that it's not as ridiculously fun to bludgeon.
Plus for a game where dodging is abnormally fast, covers a large distance and takes practically no stamina, weapons that swing as slowly as a souls game and take as much stamina just don't seem to gel. Slowing your game down by 50% for the same approximate damage per hit as a saw isn't really my ideal way of playing, especially when the 'hyperarmor' in this game is so underwhelming.
>not posting the finished high res version
Bloodborne is the faster game, and Hunters are made to be more quick and agile, so it's more fitting.
Souls is a giant world made for giants, so thus the weapons are giant and more fitting for strength shenanigans.
>my face when I just got to the woods
>boring ass spear
>saber w/ dagger
meanwhile str has
>alien arm that moves on its fucking own
>a heavy chain whip
>A hammer that ignites
>boring ass saw
>a moonlight sword
>boring ass axe
>A wheel that when transfromed forms spooky skulls
>a stake driver with that amazing charge attack
>a mace that you charge to do electric damage
>a motherfucking pizza cutter
yeah skill weapons are soo cool and unique
>kill the BSB in Ailing Loran chalice
>Don't notice I got poisoned when I dealt the finishing blow
>go afk to check /bbg/ for a moment
>come back just as my character dies
Thank fuck bosses don't respawn
Rapiers can have a sharp edge you know. With such a slim blade you can swing it very fast and sever a limb pretty easily.
We live in the real world anon, not fantasy land.
No where ever in the history of ever has a fucking thrusting weapon severed a fucking head.
You need a serrated blade or a large chopping blade like a machete or proper sword to do this.
Enjoy taking an hour to cut through the spinal column though and dull the blade halfway through the job
Because it's a retarded image even in the games sense.
It's completely retarded. A dead executioner bleeding out through his throat, sure. A severed head makes the artwork deviantart teir.
The reiterpallasch is more of a sidesword anyway. It would break in half anyway since the blade is being held by a set of fucking hinges. None of the weapons in Bloodborne are very realistic.
Yeah of course the rapier gun that kills great ones couldn't cut a head off, I'd be more realistic if I severed the Wheel weapon guys his head with the scythe that can deconstruct into a sword
mfw I've upgraded all the weapons I've wanted to play to +10
what do I do with all this insight now
So I think i'm about to fight Gehrman. The house is on fire, my children are all alone. I only have 2/3 umbilical cord.
Do I fight Gehrman to get the last bit, or should I explore around some more?
Just defeated Lady Maria. Greatest fight of the game so far.
Anyway I have a question. Apparently I fucked by not talking to Simon after Ludwig's fight and Failures shits's fight.
Did I miss the Moonlight sword for good and will I miss something in the future ?
Like the completion of a quest or an item/weapon ?
He wasn't asking for tips in the post I quoted. If he needs tips for anything them I can easily help if he asks for help with something specific.
The only tip I ever asked for in the chalices was if there was a quicker way to kill, which caused everyone to flip their shit.
Yeah. 70 is closer to the recommended level.
>No cape on the decorative hunter garb
>Overly tattered and shitty cape on the old hunter garb
>Ludwig doesn't have a set
im on my first play through casually, up to amygdala. my stats are:
vitality - 37
endurace - 22
strength - 22
skill - 34
bloodtinge - 10
arcane - 8
what weapon would best suit me? I've been using riflespear most of the game since I've got it
Yeah what about it ? It was cool finally seeing Ludwig but I don't know. He was ugly as fuck. I mean he has no style at all. And this is not because he became a beast. It's because he has a fucking horse face.
What do you mean by that ?
Well will he give it to me or do I have to kill him to get it ?
And what about the his quest ? Since I defeated Maria without speaking with him beforehand, will I miss something ?
>Get the itch to play DaS

Just add DaS3 to the cycle
and DeS if only I had my own ps3 ;_;and that's gonna be my entire year
So how shit is my build, /bbg/?
I'm having trouble deciding on a build for my first full run of the game (I played a chunk when it came out but am only now going back to it).
I really like Arcane and the Burial Blade/Blade of Mercy but while it can work it doesn't work that well and it's not like I'll have either of those weapons for the majority of the game.
I'm starting to think I should go Strength and Arcane for the wealth of options including Tonitrus and Moonlight... I am kind of tempted to go Arcane into FULL BROCCOLI but I think I actually would want more variety.
Any recommendations? Beast Cutter seems pretty sick considering I liked the Threaded Cane for Skill based weapons.
I was going to go for the old hunter cap and Charred Garb on a Burial Blade/Saif character, great minds think alike. I think that there are better gloves and boots than the Charred ones though.
I didn't know that.I'm not looking for PVP, I just want to finish the game. I guess that nightmare is the only place where the bell gets rang without a summon?
I have no idea where I'm going and what I'm doing but I've covered a good portion of the map I believe and I got to frontier from the Lecture Building.
>the fight through the river of blood to the research halls is actually a copy of the players path from cathedral ward to Djura's clock tower
>the old hunter garb is lined with red cloth on the inside
>a dead old hunter wearing the clotch hung upside down would leave the red cloth hanging open, like the blood starved beasts skin
I got tired of defending the wheel because every time I did there would be 15 exec posts and like 2 cuckhurst posts defending themselves
Its not fun when youre just demolishing the opposition ):
What should either of those stats be at? This is my first playthrough so I just leveled up whatever I thought seemed fine. Just a general quality build but I can't even find another weapon to compliment Ludwig's when it seems to do everything as well as it does.
Vit you typically want at 50 or higher, end should only be around like 20-25 max
Most weapons besides the super heavy ones like boomhammer dont require any end above 20, and if you know how to use it even heavy weapons can use low stamina.
On my wheel build I had 10 stamina, and on my current beast cutter build I have 10 stam.
Also most runes are fuckin USELESS besides the stamina and health boosts so you should use those pham
Beast Cutter is fun, I'm enjoying co-oping with it. Easy to get early on as well, only downside is Blunt tending to be worse than Normal and Thrust. You could just go 25/25 and use whatever seems fun, then decide between Str or Skl to take to 50.
I'm debating whether to level up past 98. I'm on a STR/BLT build but as a result it's only 40 BLT which is just not good. Also my VIT isn't at 50 either..
Should I just make a new character?
I'd go to the wiki and pick out a couple of weapons that seem fun.
The beast cutter is honestly dog shit until you gem it, which im doing now. Its fucking atrocious trying to get through these chalice dungeons.
Tonitrus is just overall awful, idk if gems can even save it.
But anything can get you through PvE. Just pick what looks cool
>Vit you typically want at 50 or higher
I wouldn't go that far, 45-50 is good, any higher should be a waste of points. Clockwise runes are only the best in pvp and co-op, outside of that you can use utility runes like Eye, Moon, Clawmark, Blood Rapture, Heir, or Sea runes.
>Add enchantment to weapon
>It does less damage with even stats
Just level past it.
Theres only like 15 people in the game total who are at lvl 98, and 14/15 of these people are on vg.
The only pro to it is invading level 80s, which can be entertaining to stomp them.
Can I do a skill build with 25 strength?
I planned quality but I'm so fucking sick of the quality weapons.
I want the Rakuyo and the Reiter.
Can I use the Reiter without BLT? I really like it's moveset.
125-150 is far and away the most populated area to play in. Endless fun, whereas 98's you just end up getting twinked literally everytime by 135's with your same build but more vit and rolls
Being under 100 in this game is a massive fucking meme
98 isn't a meta. It's some kind of crutch/"I want to twink BL80's but I'm actually just getting ganked by 140's waaaah" range that doesn't work anymore now that post DLC literally every single person leveled up to at least 110 at a minimum
I cant stop getting boners over Tricked L2 hyperstab
It'll do some neat damage, but Evelyn will still pull off more. Even so, a firearm with bone marrow ash will have it beat anyways.
>Can I do a skill build with 25 strength?
>Can I use the Reiter without BLT? I really like it's moveset.
Yes, blt only affects its gun and doesn't increase damage by that much. You just need 10 to use it and can invest in skill and maybe str if you have enough points for the extra damage.
Keep leveling up to around 120 or higher and remember to crush vermin everytime you see knights wig + cainhurst set
150 is best
people saying 150 fights are bad because of high damage are dumb because phys defense caps out at level 120, your damage stat caps are still the same you just have more defense and greater build variety. Only weapon that is abusable at 150 is LHB and that's because it has stupidly high quality stats.
You can do the DLC at mid-90s
I was going to do it at 100, but I forgot about that after beating Wet Nurse on my first attempt that run. I never felt like the enemies where too strong.
I just got killed by the usual bullshit of unfair combos, getting mobbed because I didn't know the enemy layout beforehand, and getting stunlocked by overlapping gunfire.
>playing through Old Hunters
>getting fucked by Orphan
>resolve to kill Mergo's Wet Nurse and come back and finish Orphan later
>get caught up in Gehrman fight and the feels that accompany it
>Moon Presence is easy sauce, don't even need to get more vials after Gehrman fight
>ng+ instantly starts
>realize I never finished Old Hunters
fuck my ass raw senpai
Man Moon Presence was so disapointing.
I got him on my first try with no blood vials at all since Gherman made me used all of them.
And the fight with Gherman was only my second try.
I still don't know if I got lucky or not.
I got him on my 2nd try too. Maybe it's because I had a +9 weapon, level 90 and had decent gems because I severely overestimated the final bosses but either way the whole atmosphere around the fight was still really satisfying
>Some people want to get the ending but don't want to go to NG+ immediately
That's a stupid reason and not at all the fault of the game itself. If you know when the game ends, why the fuck would you not do literally everything you can think of beforehand?
>lol i just wanna fight tha boss right now
is not a good excuse.
>is not a good excuse.
Yes it is.
>If you know when the game ends, why the fuck would you not do literally everything you can think of beforehand?
Probably because LOL I JUST WANNA FIGHT THA BOSS RIGHT NOW
If you have 50 STR/50 ARC, I'd actually suggest trying out a combo of Heavy Abyssal, Cold Abyssal, Arc%/Nourishing and a Flat Gem.
Try whatever seems most awesome. I've never tested the wheel since heavy's and cold's were boosted. They might do some seriously insane damage when paired with a single flat arcane once you actually use the wheels buffs, I don't know.
Oh, you're just shitposting. My bad.
>i'm going into unknown territory
Bloodborne doesn't have that either.
The movesets on all the weapons in bloodborne may as well be pointless in actual practice because of the abysmal hyper armour and the stunlockfest hitstun.
It's a shame. I think bloodbornes weapon movesets + dark souls slower and more poisey speed could've made alot more weapons viable than just the fastest dash r1'ers.
Poison knives and dodge is really all I can suggest. He's confirmed got maxed weapons and crazy stats so aside from poison, cheesing that health drain and poking him there's really not much you can do
>Eyes black, with big claws...
>A big fire, a big burn, into the ashes with no return
>We took you right from, your mother's womb
>Our temple, your tomb
>We're not standing, we are falling
>The poisonous blood...
Yes, your other stats must suffer to be as edgy as possible.
Though blt/skill is working fine for me, currently using chikage/bowblade and my damage isn't that bad, 500 on a full tricked r2 pre 98
Guns do minimal damage and are easy to dodge at a distance. You can even dodge directly through bullets. People only get around 20 shots, let them waste them by dodging at a distance and then come and in an beat them to a pulp.
People talking about Eileen reminded me of this. I find that my behaviors when I don't know ahead of time what's going on in a situation in Soulslike games are very strange. For example, I walked in on some nut and crow-woman fighting in the tomb, they went at it and I just sat there watching because I had no idea which one would be more useful to me alive. Crow-woman died and the other guy had a tiny bit of health left so I finished him off when he attacked me and grabbed their drops. And that was it. Only by faqing did I find that somehow I was supposed to already have met Crowwoman and that she was a leader of some covenant. It also didn't seem like I lost much by her dying because her drop was access to what items you would get by completing her quests.
Is there a point to events like this? Is this some meta commentary on how life is nonsensical and random unlike most video games and From embraces this randomness?
Are there people who use say the Saw Cleaver or Saw Spear or random early game weapons for the whole game? Is there any advantage to doing this or are they designed to be sort of sub par even at higher +s?
jej, I'm on my way to making a maria build and this lucky host summons me and a completed maria
Maria is the epitome of gay cosplay builds.
Now if there was a way to transform into beast any time, I would be roleplaying gascoigne 100% of the time
Shut up! You were amazing!
I just needed someone to distract him for me to spam EG.
ah just beat ng+ dlc and game!
Love the feeling when ending it all over again! Anyways now to spend the till the 18th with plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 beta. what can i say the casual really set things straight.
Equip the beast rune > use pellet and you turn into the beast realtime
Equip beast rune > turn into beast everytime you equip beast claws
The transform is allready "real time" in that it happens when you equip the rune with a spiffy animation with particle effects.
Why they couldn't do this in real time bothers me.
Ah, I remember when I, too, was but a wee meme.
>finish playing bloodborne for the nth time
>feel like giving das2 another shot
>spend whole time playing das2 wishing i was playing bloodborne
i already hated das2 the first time i played it but bloodborne has spoiled me even further
i just want more to play
No, thank you.
We mean shoot for as close to 50 as you can and have the runes on top of it. You really want to have more than 1240 HP as a phantom.
You can also fight Laurence if you haven't.
I think I know why it's called "The Orphanage" guys
Get a heavy abyssal in there too if you have the right stats.
Mine personally isn't build for pvp. It's built for beast sex.
post yfw you realize every time gehrman falls asleep in the dream
hes cursed to wake up as the orphan in the nightmare
All them baby ebrietas things there, those are "orphaned" left behind infant Great Ones and that's where the Choir babysits them
there's a difficulty curve after rom. go do some chalice dungeons and get some better gems by beating watchers in the first floor of lower pthumeru chalice. you can do that or you can go to the dlc and try to get a 12% gem tempering drop from the old hunter in the beginning.
I tried doing the first chalice dungeon after I killed the blood starved beast but I couldn't kill the first undead giant. I'll try now as I've upgraded a lot but I'm not expecting a miracle.
chikage and simon bowblade untricked are only going to benefit from 25 skill. you'll also use tempering physical gems which isn't as good as korean gems
just don't be dumb, attack him once after he does something and learn his moves. if you can't beat him as the first boss of the first layer of chalices, just wait until you see him again
You don't need anywhere near that much end, especially for the chikage. It's one of the least stamina-dependent weapons in the game. blt builds can leave end at base, any points in that stat is a waste for them.
>lose half health
>but enemies don't deal as much damage
>except elemental damage
>2 out of 3 bosses have elemental damage
I've never farmed waning fire abyssals, what sort of stats do they have?
Is it just &fire damage and a secondary effect?
Would they be a worthwhile to fill the waning slot on a boomhammer? My build is 50 str and 15 arc and I'm trying to salvage this waning slot so I don't have to waste another whole set of chunks upgrading a lost boomhammer.
Alot of people seem to complain about defiled chalice, I personally don't see what all the hoohah is about.
huh. If you stand next to amy's second left arm (your right) he just 9 times out of ten will only do his stomp attack. Finally killed FRC amy,
Cursed noursing abyssal blood gem
Att up 21.5%
Add bolt attack +15
Increase stam 3.2%
Not bad for my Uncanny moonlight
>see if anyone needs help fighting Lauence
>always get summoned to some chump trying to kill simon
YOU RETARDED FUCKS, HE'S AN NPC, COOPERATORS CAN'T HURT HIM! MAN UP AND FIGHT EM YOURSELVES!
fucking bt builds aren't rocket science retard use literally any weapon you want and get it to plus 6 cuz kenny loggins is a joke cuck of a boss
>what's the best version of the chikage
fucking guess assclown, heres another tip, it's not the one with the fucking waning slot
Can somebody help me fight Matry Longarious?
Level 70, password: "mib"
>have done 5 builds
>all of them are either fully gemmed/ready to gem hunt
>getting slowly burnt out
>do a wheel build
it's like a whole new fucking game
wheel is the best thing ever, now i know why people vitgouge it too. that fucking buff system. fuck yes
church pick for skill builds
any str build that has a huge vertical attack
pray you don't fuck up and get hit by a combo. break his face and all it really should take is 5 minutes to kill him.
bt is so easy the average reddit retard can do it, as it can be figured out by literally looking at the wiki and making not retarded decisions
sorry that's too much to ask, seriously it's a tragedy you're this dumb
Because I am not a retard.
A-am I cute?
can anyone help me with ludwig?
level 73, at the ludwig lamp, butts5 is the pass
