What still makes me laugh is that some people are still taking seriously the hidden kernel exploit thing. Obviously this was a very dumb mistake coming from a too quick read of some code. That's it. They're not gonna hide kernel exploits there, they keep them in their own private folders. Nothing wrong with this btw.

My last tip to anyone making anything : don't release anything for free. It'll save you a lot of trouble.

I have a 2ds with 6.0.0 firmware and already an emunand and CFW installed. I boot rxtools with my browser. I want to be able to use themehax to boot into rxtools.

Can i just use browserhax and julian's sysupdater to upgrade my firmware to 9.2? Im asking because im not sure if browserhax works on my firmware or if i can even upgrade from 6.0.0 to 9.2.0 with sysupdater.

Yeah, I had that happen after several weeks of it working without a single failure. I just uninstalled it then reinstalled it, and it started behaving itself again. Dunno why it does that.

How can I delete my old eShop titles? I had them on my SD card and they took up like 10gb, but after downgrading to 9.2 and getting emuNAND to 10.3, I can't see the games at all. Were they deleted in the downgrade process? My Nintendo 3DS folder is like 16gb right now with only fire emblem fates installed so I feel like all the games' files are still on there, but I just can't access them.

I updated my emunand to 9.5 with sysupdater, but now I just get a black screen when I boot into cakes. Was I supposed to do something else?

The only closest thing I have to this is menumax_manager v2.1 in my homebrew channel and it certainly doesn't have 'type1' or 'type2' to choose from but install, delete, config, etc.

Yeah, but it'll calm down in two weeks tops. To be fair people have had a solid week+ to get it. I remember being stuck with ironhax with 9.9 being jealous, but here I am, it's fucking glorious. However i'll still support nintendo with certain games, specifically localizations.

Hey they /vg/ I'm doing one of the last steps for me in fixing up my N3DS, I am editing the ctrbootmanager in order to try and have the following setups.

Nothing held = Gateway
L held = Homebrew Launcher
R held = RXtools

and I believe up and down goes to normal 3ds just like I would want. is anyone willing to help me understand the config file? I thought there was something that was better for config, but I can't seem to find it.

Quick question m8s. When extracting FBI and Emunand9 onto my SD card, there are folders within them called 3ds. I assume the files with the folder there go into my /3ds folder on my SD card and the rest simply onto the root of the SD Card?

Alright, I've been trying to unlink my NANDs for a while, and I can't tell if they are unlinked. After ejecting my SD card and formatting my sysNAND, my emuNAND and sysNAND have different home menu layouts. Is that indication that they are unlinked? This is easily the most confusing part of the process for me.

Having an issue with fbi. I forgot to install it on my emunand while i was setting up, so i injected it inot the health and safety application and it launches fine and everything, but i can't install cia's onto my emunand from it. if i install it to my sysnand it shows up as agift, but the icon is black and it never actually launches. any ideas?

I followed the instructions. I put the .3dsx and .smdh of FBI, PastaCFW and emuNAND9 in the 3DS folder, put the fbi.cia on the SD card, installed PastaCFW via browserhax, got into homemenu, started browserhax and then FBI to install the fbi.cia to the SD card.
But for some reason I get that error.

The only thing I didn't do was putting the files in the dbs files because I already have database files on my SD card.
I used the SD card on the 3DS before, or does "fresh" mean that it's a new card for CFW?

I've downgraded to 9.2 and reinstalled Menuhax but I've yet to get CFW because I only have the Lexar 4GB that came with it. I ordered yesterday a 64GB SD card off Amazon and it'll get here tomorrow.

that's correct for tubehax dns. for sysnand, you can bypass that by holding:
L+R+dpad up+a and powering on your system.
cancel the update, and it'll never nag you again.

for emunand, if you're on 10.3 anyways, not sure why it would be bugging you. can you just cancel it out? not sure how to stop it from nagging after it's appeared other than accepting it :(

I've been holding off on downgrading until the dust settled. Now that a few days have past, I just want to know if there is any rush to downgrade now rather than later, and is downgrading safe now that people have done it and I assume figured out ways to make it more successful.

the vita games are spinoffs/alternative universes/endings.

I use BBM on my N3DS and I recommend it. While most of my .cia files installed through FBI worked, for some reason the Xenoblade .cia I tried installing through it wouldn't play. Tried installing the same Xenoblade .cia through BBM and sure enough it worked.

Yes. The NAND.bin is just a backup for your sysnand. emuNAND.bin is a backup for your emunand if you did a backup of that. You wont need any of these but keep them safe on your computer in case something goes super fubar and you need to restore them, which will most likely never happen.

GBA games won't run on emuNAND, not even ambassador games, but NES, SNES and Gameboy games work fine. I'm running emuNAND through CakesFW and using an O3DS f it helps.

Alternatively you can do the trick where you setup 3 fake connections through sysNAND and then go into emuNAND and edit one of those fake connections with a real one. That way you'll have connection on emuNAND all while your sysNAND isn't connected and safe from stuff like spotpass updating.
