how do I get rxtools to work on homebrew launcher?

I'm trying to get rxtools started, but I won't boot into ctrbootmanager, even after renaming the files. What gives?

Someone wouldn't happen to have a Happy Home Designer(US) link around would they? The one's I've found on that 3dsiso site have all been removed from the crappy uploading sites they used.

I ran into a problem.

Following the retard guide, I get to launching sysupdater. Every time it loads into it I am getting a black frozen screen. I tried turning off the wifi out of being desperate to try anything, and I get options, but even then it is still frozen. I just can't understand what is going on. I followed the steps and even double checked them. I just don't get it, any ideas?

It's been like this an hour, I feel like giving up.

So I did this a few days ago but didn't follow the pastebin guide, I used an entirely different method, involving booting a Gateway launcher (despite not having the card) and then installing the EmuNAND that way.

Everything is working, except that it boots into the sysnand and I have to use the Nintendo DS Profile option to enter my EmuNAND with RxTools, plus I still need to use the browserhax to run Homebrew Channel.

How do I get something like the guide has, which I press L or whatever and I can choose what to boot into? HBC/Emunand/etc.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to update my emuNAND to 10.3. I unlinked my NANDs and all that, but when I went to update (RX-E was in the corner so I know I was in emuNAND), it failed and restarted my 3DS. My 3DS is still 9.2, but my emuNAND did not update. I have two questions.

1. Did my NANDs unlink?
2. How am I supposed to update my emuNAND?

Anyone got any funny images, gif or webms of Donald (or whatever the fuck Pingo avatarfags with)

Do I simply install NTR whilst running cakes FW emuNAND to play region free cias? Or do I have to do it every time I want to launch a game?

Ctrbootmanager keeps looping (back to CTR) when I try to boot rxTools. What exactly am I doing wrong? I googled for solutions and couldn't find any

16) Rename the "boot.3dsx" on the SD card to "brew.3dsx"

when you installed menuhax you configured it to autboot and had to set a button to press in case you wanted to prevent the autoboot, remember?

so when rxtools loads and you go into a black screen (when it's starting emunand) hold that button (default is L) and it will take you to the home menu of emunand. Then just go to switch to any theme to uninstall menuhax

Rename it to brew.3dsx
Put it on your SD card in the root, overwriting the one that is there.

If the size comparison helps at all the PROPER one is a little under 1MB, the wrong one is 5.3~ MB

After line 138, my SD card has two things on it:

The next step says to carry everything over, but I am not sure if I am overwriting the files already on the SD card with the files in the backup, since both folders have an emuNAND9 folder and a boot.3dsx file.

It boots me back into the Home menu and gives me an error.

Works fine on my 10.3 EmuNAND, but that wouldn't do anything to my SysNAND.

I installed rxtools, FBI was on the home screen. When I clicked it it said "application wont run please redownload" or something like that. Went to settings to check the firmware, came back and now it's gone. Any ideas?

I'm a bit confused on how exactly you boot into emuNAND. I've created the emuNAND and it's on my card, and i can't access the homebrew menu through the browser (it just goes to a red screen right before it'd normally start).

I switched to TuxSH, and I didn't get the error, btu after I hit Y on sysUpdater, it just stayed there for about 5 minutes.
I worried I had bricked it, so I shut it off and turned it back on

Is it normal if, sometimes when entering the System Settings from emuNAND, it brings me to the sysNAND settings instead? It seems very bizarre because, as far as I can tell, my NANDs are unlinked still (the gift wrap glitch isn't showing up and exiting the emuNAND settings screen when I actually reach it takes me to the sysNAND home menu), but on occasion, the emuNAND System Settings will take me to the sysNAND settings for some reason. What the hell is going on?

You can squeak by with an 8gb, but you'll have to learn how to uninstall games and I haven't seen any anons mention that yet so maybe not much guides and stuff.

You can get sandisk 64 gb for $20, so that's what I went with.

Also there are 8gb no-name, blank suspicious ones on ebay for ~$3.50. I've used them for mp3 and they work fine, just dunno if I'd trust them with a pokemon save etc. Stay away from blank/shitty ebay cards for anything over 8gb, had problems with a 32gb one.

And one anon posted a link to a sorta-legit looking chinese brand 128gb for $30 on amazon.

I'M STARTING TO PICNIC

I'm about in the middle of hacking my O3DS with a 4GB SD card, I know I'll need a bigger one so I ordered a 32GB SD card off Amazon.

Thing is, the 32GB one won't arrive until Monday.

If you already have your microSD working in your 3DS or want to keep your contents, you of course skip this step. This only needs to be done if you set up a new microSD.
Find a microSD of desired size. I used a SanDisk 64GB Ultra SDXC but any good brand should do the job.
The card needs to be formatted to FAT32. If using a SDHC (up to 32GB) you can just use Windows' own right-click on drive format tool for that.
If you have a larger SDXC, Windows won't let you format it to FAT32, so use a tool called guiformat
Simply select your drive letter which is your microSD and click Start
Put the card in your N3DS and start it. This creates the \Nintendo 3DS folder.

Everything was going great until I installed TinyFormat to the Home screen and ran it, at which point my 3DS reset like it was fresh out of the box, forgetting my language/internet settings/miis/etc. My firmware is still 9.2. Where did I fuck up?

Yeah, they changed it all the way back in 2013 or something when they added proper SDXC support. It barely even mentions it, it just says "yep it's compliant with standards" (which happen to say ExFAT for SDXC cards because leeching money with patents). Every time I try to load Pasta or HomeBrew through BootManager, I just go staight to red screen, rxtools works fine. I am still able to get to HomeBrew if needed by going straight to brew.3dsx in the files of the BootManager, but I'm unsure if theres a way to click into Pasta yet as I haven't gotten into it sucessfully. From what I understand I need to to, if I want to install games.

I'm on an O3DS, so I just updated my emunand to 10.3 through the updater in system settings, and everything works fine until I get to the home menu again. The first time I booted it up it said it was preparing the home menu and went alright, I got notifications about the badge shit but after a few seconds it freezes and an "error has occurred" message pops up and it forces me to restart.

I can restore my emunand just fine but like I wanna get that updated 10.3 shit before ninty releases 10.4 y'know. What do I do?

Hey, so I'm using this guide for downgrading a Japanese O3DS: http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW and it tells me that I should delete a file named '000400102002CA00.cia' from the folder that gets unzipped from the Japanese Mega link or else enjoy a hard brick.

Problem is, the file wasn't listed in the Mega link at all when I downloaded it. Can any other Moon machine downgraders confirm that means it's safe to continue? Or did the guide's writer get the filename hex wrong?

Asking because while I have been looking for an excuse to get a N3DS, I'd rather not piss away a $100 machine if I don't have to.
