is there any way to get fan translations with external .wav audio like the Ys IV fan dub and the Xak III fan dub to work in mednafen-pce in Retroarch?
I used to be able to get them to work on my old pc by mounting the .cue and playing them in magic engine, but I heard daemontools has malware now so I'd rather find a way to play them in retroarch
is there any way to do it then? like do I have to recreate the iso image to make the external audio internal or something?
I remember a long time ago someone here said they were able to get Ys IV working in RA, but I don't remember how they did it
I do that, and it crashes.
Normal PCE-CD games without external audio work just fine, it's just these two fandub translations that I can't get to run
I don't even particularly like the fandubs, it's just there's no subtitles during the cutscenes in these games so that makes them necessary
turtle! turtle! He's our hero! He's gonna take emulation down to zero!
Because they had to deal with no source code and sub 640 x 480 compressed JPEGs. This was not a game that had any business receiving the "muh HD" treatment, but then again, Square isn't known for being sane when it comes to their Final Fantasy re-releases.
So what settings do I need to play with to fix the blur?
Using PCSX2 with the GSdx 5875 plug in
also do Rachet and Clank just not run well at all? or do I need to play with settings to make them work?
Or is it just that I have an AMD CPU, a 750K, it works in a lot of games just fine but it really struggles on ratchet and clank.
I fixed it, I had to change interlacing to Weave tff(saw-tooth)
Wait, no...the in game looks terrible
I've never used PCSX2 before, but my guess is that the game switches between 240p for in-game and 480i for the menus and the emulator can't tell when the game switches for whatever reason.
If that's the case you'll have to choose between ugly menus or ugly gameplay, or else switch (de)interlacing options each time the game changes.
Well the game looks fine under Auto unless I interact with something, which causes it all to get blurry
that it made Shake, Next It Deinterlaced, and the nit was back to normal
I guess I'll just have to live with it, at least normal gameplay looks fine, wish I could just play genma on my Xbox but my CRT TV is effectively useless
Make a copy of your .iso and try a program called ps2force480p on it, forces progressive mode and rarely works but when it does it's pretty fucking glorious.
VU cycle stealing and EE cyclerate are pretend fullspeed, they affect internal FPS a lot while increasing the VFPS, technically with EE cyclerate yoiu're emulating a console that has an underclocked EE and with VU cycle stealing it's about the same thing except this time the power you're not using to emulate a fullspeed EE goes to the VU emulation.
EE cyclerate now has overclcking though using that slider and then you're obviously negating part of the internal slowdown if you turn it on, some game do break pretty spectacularly when you do that though. some also become insanely resource intensive (Warship gunner goes from 80-100 to 30 in intensive battles)
>Fuck Koei and their retarded ideas of "aircraft balance".
Nigga nothing is balanced, AGS and energy weapons being the worst example of that, or even smaller examples like HE VLS vs cruise missiles.
A supercarrier with a full complement of duck planes might actually not totally suck shit if you invest in a couple laser pointer to make them attack things you want them to attack.
Meanwhile you can just make a huge battleship that wreck absolutely everything
>Because they had to deal with no source code and sub 640 x 480 compressed JPEGs.
Is it emulated? IX never got a old PC port. Does that mean all the development stuff for the play station games were lost?
>Is it emulated?
Doesn't look like it, or they made the best fucking emulator ever, I think they actually remade the game.
> Does that mean all the development stuff for the play station games were lost?
Usual japanese company stuff once a project is done everything is nuked.
My complain is mostly on how instead of having a maximum of 20 planes on the air at the same time that score fucktons of damage if their bombs/missiles hit there are hundreds on planes in the air at the same time that give pitiful amount of damage. That makes the game perform like shit, with the addition of making carries completely unviable unless
1. you're playing a fresh new game on very easy mode, but even then you'll have a hard time
2. as you said you unlocked the duckplanes, in that case why even bother with carriers?
>AGS and energy weapons being the worst example of that, or even smaller examples like HE VLS vs cruise missiles.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but by the time you have access to those the enemies you'll face will have absurd amount of resistance to the energy weapons' damage (unless you grinded a fuckton of "training" missions), to the point that you're better off with sticking to traditional guns and torpedoes (which are always OP as shit in WS2's case anyway), since that saves space and mass that is better invested in thick armor in addition to the gravity/em shield.
AGS are literally absurd, a 3 barrel one is vastly more powerful than a 406mm rotating cannon that takes 4 times the weight and way more space aka there's literally no reason to no just stick 3 times the AGS.
Energy weapons are never useful, too big, too heavy, and almost everything has EM shield by the time you unlock them, you also can't fire them in tandem which also makes railguns almost useless.
HE VLS (cruise missiles are too big and heavy to be worth it) are literally the only thing you need on most missions except when you face battleship that can take more than 3, and don't get me started on the fucking travesty that is the drill missile (it sounds awesome right? it fucking ain't)
Are you talking about WS2 or WS1? Because in WS2 the Gatling cannons aren't nearly as deadly as they were in WS1. On the other hand the 80cm long barreled gun with all of the accuracy and ROF upgrades makes short work of everything that isn't a speedboat or a small destroyer.
Also what modules do you use with the AGS, if you use any at all?
>Energy weapons are never useful, too big, too heavy, and almost everything has EM shield by the time you unlock them, you also can't fire them in tandem which also makes railguns almost useless.
That's what I said. At least the cat laser looks comfy.
Also why is the point defense AA laser so fucking bad? Even the low calibre machineguns are better than it.
I stick with cluser VLS, and that's only if I need to destroy buildings, if not I usually swap them for more SAM VLSes.
>Are you talking about WS2 or WS1?
WS2, 1 has that other problem where the twin 88 rapes the shit out of everything and the bigger ones are a downgrade most of the time.
>Also what modules do you use with the AGS, if you use any at all?
The autoloader, the accuracy one has no effect as the shells home in on target (badly but still the firing delay system doesn't change that), I gotta admit that I don't know what most modules are supposed to do unless it's incredibly obvious.
>I stick with cluser VLS
You're missing out, on top of that HE VLS are way better at dealing with building too (and then you put the AEGIS on and everything is fire), napalm missiles might actually be very good too but I haven't unlocked the research yet.
>if not I usually swap them for more SAM VLSes.
Just put 10 RAM on your thing and watch the planes drop like flies (and your framerate with them), more place for vs land/sea weaponry too since they take the same space as CIWS.
An anon in a /v/ thread yesterday was doing an infinitely better job by filtering them with waifu2xDDD. But that would actually take Squenix time to do, instead of just running all the backgrounds through a shitty bilinear.
My sub is pretty rough, although I never had any trouble clearing anything with it, the loop 1 design was pretty similar minus the ASROC/HE/AGS and smaller torpedos and of course no plating because it's useless when you're a sub most of the time.
No AA since none of the missions where you're forced into a sub has any real Air opposition and even if they did you just stay underwater and shit all over airfields and carriers.
What modules are you using? I have the shark sub unlocked myself but I'm not using it yet since I need all of the modules I can get.
Also your sub could use some part placement optimization.
Honestly even with a very stock system loadout (radar, sonar, electronic targeting, autoloader, AEGIS and forward thruster) it's more than good enough but I use that.
>Also your sub could use some part placement optimization.
Yeah, honestly it's already so powerful you don't really need to change anything but I tried something.
Hmm not sure about those changes, there's too much machineguns yes but that's mostly my old habit of showing some everywhere I can once I got my main equipment in, AGS are that exact number because It's the critical mass that let me handle battleships easily and fast at close range while leaving me enough ammo to deal with long missions with no ammo crate (no AA means no crate farming), missile rotation doesn't really do anything they fire 360 anyways. and since they're cruise missiles I don't really care about them taking a bit longer to turn around if I fire them backwards.
Although with some of those I can get even more missiles on my sub.
Is there any way to make games gain the bleached-out look of a magazine screenshot or poor television set via emulation?
Any way to make games look like pic related?
Rotate the stern AGS, I'd put it there just for having 360° coverage. Also the AGS should work as AA too. Also post the thing's weapons list.
>trying to add some armor to this fat fuck
>doing so would mean getting rid of two ammo depots and two nuclear reactors, which means losing 5 knots of speed
What should I do? I can't even change engines since I can't research really efficient shit like high tier gas turbines or fusion engines yet. Should I just roll with my dinky sub?
>Rotate the stern AGS, I'd put it there just for having 360° coverage.
Oh ok, I never actually do that because I don't feel the need to especially with sub
>Also the AGS should work as AA too.
Nope, does wreck aerial super weapon very easily though but you have to aim manually for that.
>What should I do?
If I got it right armor just reduce the damage of the caliber it's supposed to protect you again by 75%, nothing in the game actually uses anything bigger than 36cm in large quantity so you can get away with just that and loop 2 is full of energy weapon so EM shields trump any kind of armor.
Might just be me but I put all the engine and structures in the back while I put my main weapons in the front, there's too much CIWS (more than 20 is useless most of the time it just burns your ammo faster without any real benefits, might want to cut back on RAM a bit too they're heavy and 10 is enough to fuck any air force in the game (and any more than that is diminishing returns since 10 can get jets before they get to you most of the time) and with 4 ammo depots you have enough ammo to withstand most air forces in the game without relying on crate that much or at all
Always think your BB designs to fit 8-10 of your most powerful reactor (powerful|=efficient, go wtih slightly less powerful but more efficient models only if you're cutting it close weight wise).
If you're not treasure hunting the heliport isn't that useful, rescue ones get killed too fast, anti sub ones are heavier and worse in every way to ASROC and even antisub missiles are still a better choice, attack ones are a bad joke.
You need more main cannons, with that ship even the laser platform will wreck your shit by lack of ammo and DPS.
Use the droplist from there http://www.kurogane.biz/wsg2/ if you're looking for something in particular for your research purposes..
>If I got it right armor just reduce the damage of the caliber it's supposed to protect you again by 75%, nothing in the game actually uses anything bigger than 36cm in large quantity so you can get away with just that and loop 2 is full of energy weapon so EM shields trump any kind of armor.
Wait, energy weapons ignore armor and they apply their damage straight to your hull integrity, and the only way to mitigate that is the EM shield?
Also, I usually go with efficient engines since the weight from the more powerful but inefficient ones offsets the gains by a wide margin, usually giving me only something like an additional knot. I thing it's better to be next to the weight limit with as much armor and weapons as possible as I'm always playing on hard.
I guess you're right, I'll cut down on the RAM/CIWS and replace some of them with something else.
And I do know about that site, in fact I use that as a source of info for treasure hunting over gamefags, as I found that to be a tad inaccurate for some.
By the way, I beat the mission that was giving me trouble with doing just a modification - changing the flag to the R&R one, it's a fucking godsend.
Doesn't seem too difficult if you can play around with the values on your post processing: crank up the bloom and the gamma, reduce saturation and play around with them until you get your desired output.
>Wait, energy weapons ignore armor and they apply their damage straight to your hull integrity, and the only way to mitigate that is the EM shield?
Pretty sure that's how it works, might be wrong though but I doubt it.
>changing the flag to the R&R one, it's a fucking godsend.
Wait flag do something?
Also thank god for CE so I don't have to go through the whole BC/SW/YU kills or swan grade farm because fuck redoing that one hard as fuck mission 250 times/ doing that one mission 330 times.
>Wait flag do something?
Read their descriptions. R&R one speeds up repair times and IIRC also mitigates damage you receive when repairing. Championship pennant cuts in half the silver swan grind bullshit. Aegis one lets you lock one or two more targets. Fishing talisman gives you 120% of the dosh you gain during missions, IIRC including crates.
>thank god for CE
There are Cheat Engine tables for WS2? Link please.
Also you know the shit that the second flying superweapons drops? Floating flamethrowers/lasers? Those count as superweapon kills.
>want to use the DualShock 3
>plug it in
>system says driver installed
>all 4 led blink
>download this new SCP installer thing
>run the driver installer
>cant pick the controler, its not listed under the devices, only my keyboard and my headset
>doesnt work at all, controller blinks and SCP doesnt detect my controller
Just fucking why?
I remember back then, i had to install the xbox driver, then download the scp package, put it into a new folder, run the driver installer, start the service and it worked
Why isnt it working right now?
>Read their descriptions.
I don't think I have any flag with a special description yet so that might be why.
>There are Cheat Engine tables for WS2
Nah, I just used the search function to make my own.
It's not that hard once you figure it tracks the number of kills inside a single mission then adds to your total kill number and it uses a 2bit value to do so.
Here's the table if you really want, it's messy as fuck and uses address and not script/pointer (I'm too stupid to figure that shit out) but it should work with emulation (addresses don't seem to change at all when I restart PCSX2), I don't remember which address does what though.
>I don't think I have any flag with a special description yet so that might be why.
What the fuck are you doing? Go play the Inferno stages right now. The first 3 or 4 aren't even that hard, the UFO one will push your shit in though.
I never realized how easy onimusha was until I tried handicapping myself for the playthrough by only using the default weapons, made it at least half way through the dark realm before I gave up with the handicap, the splitters are just impossible to deal with without better weapons
Keep interlacing on auto.
Use OpenGL as renderer.
Don't use speedhacks unless you're below 100% speed. If you're under that speed, use only mVU and Wait Loop detection for speedhacks.
Do not change core GS settings.
Try OpenGL Software Mode if there are problems.
The way it usually goes for emulators:
Software - Most accurate but slowest because it's all done on the CPU. No advanced graphics settings
OpenGL - Second most accurate, heaps faster because now some shit is done on the GPU
Direct X - Not accurate at all, super fast, Windows only.
When you're having problems, switching to OpenGL usually fixes most of them.
When will you join the true portable emulation master race, emugen? None of this stupid Android emulation garbage. True Linux, true controller.
Sometimes I feel like I should be actually using HD texture mods and ultra high resolutions then
I go "muh accuracy".
Afterwards it's a huge mess where I try to keep it as accurate as possible while trying to up textures and resolutions.
Fuck the accuracy:
>This is how you can tell who's never actually used a PSP for emulation before
This is how we can tell you have very low standards when it comes to what's acceptable regarding emulation.
Framerate is not the whole problem. The accuracy of the SNES9x version it uses is fucking terrible, with extra graphical glitches from speedhacks. Even then, it still won't run reliably at frameskip 0.
It's worse than ZSNES.
I'm kinda excited about the Pyra and it's improvements compared to it's predecessor, but I know it's going to be a bit outdated tech-wise and monstrously expensive. Hopefully it's availability and handling isn't as big of a clusterfuck like Pandora. If it at least gets RetroArch, then maybe I'll plunk down the cash for one after it gets released.
This "pad" looks terrible. Why did they cram a full keyboard in there? Typing on this would be torture to me. If you need a keyboard for whatever reason they should just allow bluetooth or USB keyboards.
Just look at the laughable spacebar and ctrl/alt put in between the sticks for some reason. What a clusterfuck.
Just buy a smartphone and a controller to go with it, it'll be more useful and probably better built.
i have to agree with >>127782141
it seems like a good idea, but really, typing on that thing would be unbearable.
what everyone wants is the shita, but by the time it gets cracked there will be better alternatives.
Why do people bother with GB accuracy tests when gambatte is accurate enough and there are peripherals still to be emulated like the IR port, camera, TAMA5 mapper, and the mobile adapter? I feel like those features are the real final boss of emulation, even byuu never bothered with SNES ones. For all that talk about preservation devs sure are selective. Oh wait, I get it, most end users aren't even aware of existence of these devices so as long as their lord and savior pretends they don't exist and claim the emulator is 100% cycle accurate they can suck him off because they don't know it's actually incomplete.
>need to reboot windows for some reason or another after 2 month + of uptime
>"What could possibly go wrong"
>everything broken except RA and Xmplay
Guess it's finally time to retire that 6 year old win 7 install,
or is it?
the use of these types of configurations is extremely convoluted.
per-game configurations should obviously be the default mode of operation.
can someone explain exactly how RA configurations work using simple to understand examples?
You know what the emulation scene is to me? Or at least the 4chan emulation scene?
It's Kyle's Cousin Kyle from South Park.
Turns up outta nowhere, at first we figure sure, okay, it's another place to discuss emulation related things, won't be that big of an inconvenience. Then the complaints start. "Oh we don't emulate on modern sysssstems because they don't output at 240p. Pack them away, we need Wii consoles." "Oh we can't use regular screens because there's input lehhhhhg. Can you hook up some heavy CRTs for us?" "Oh that developer is a Jew, so we just shitpost about him and everything he does. Why don't we talk about Squarepusher and RetroArch?" "Oh we can't eat anything with beef in it, it gives us bag gehhhhs. Do you mind if we have fish?" All these little niggling things that compound into major headaches, and it gets to the point where you can't help but feel resentment for it, and you'd rather not see it come back. Then comes the guilt trip. "Oh why do they hate us? They never gave us a chance, they're all a bunch of fucking bigots."
page 10 again turbonerds, don't let this shit die like yesterday
>>Enjoy horrible SNES emulation
>This is how you can tell who's never actually used a PSP for emulation before
How mentally unstable are you required to be before being allowed to buy a PSP?
How the fuck do you fix the audio skipping in Snes9x on RetroArch Wii? You faggots said Wii was the best option for emulating on an older CRT but if it can't even play SNES games with accurate sound what's the fucking point?
>You faggots said Wii was the best option for emulating on an older CRT
The best option is a PC with groovyMAME, but that's a pain in the ass. The Wii is just the most convenient. You'll have to deal with the shortcomings.
Audio skips every 10s is unplayable for me, there goes using my Wii as an emulation box. It's too bad because 224p looks fucking amazing.
Whatever Snes9x Next core is bundled with RAWii 1.2.2
>whenever I go to the list of cores it kicks me out of RA altogether
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say your install of retroarch is not working properly. Probably not a good idea to judge it on what you've seen.
Alright, guess I'll reformat the SD card and start over from scratch.
I'm hoping it's not the Wii itself because after switching roms a few times the next game it loads runs super slow and the colors are fucked up.
Would SD vs. SDHC make a difference?
>I'm hoping it's not the Wii itself
It might be.
>Would SD vs. SDHC make a difference?
I use SDHC without issue, but I've read a lot of conflicting info about this. If you've got a different SD card lying around, give it a try.
Don't think so. Just reformatted the SD card and it was playing perfectly until I changed the screen resolution, then I had audio skips so I reloaded the ROM and the screen displayed like 4 overlapping jumbled up windows taking up the top 3rd of the screen. Now I'm starting to think it's my actual Wii.
Just wielding the power of libretro.
Tried both, Snes9x runs better than Next.
I saw in the audio settings they changed the output rate from 4800 to 3200, I think that's probably why it's better. Is there any way to edit that yourself?
I tried editing it but it somehow reverted back to 3200 after putting it back in my Wii. Seems like a hardcoded number. Either way I changed the Audio Skew option or whatever to 0.001 and that seems to have helped.
It actually runs surprisingly well.
The good news is that it runs faster than I expected. Almost suspiciously so.
So I don't remember having a problem like this before. I installed the new SCPServer software for the Dualshock 3. I've gotten to the point where the DS3 connects, and I can even get it to connect via bluetooth. However, its not being recognized in any emulators. I don't remember having to use something like motionjoy before, but that was with the old SCPServer shit.
I was using a rust library on top of OpenGL called "glium" which is much nicer to use than raw GL calls.
This library kept an internal cache of the OpenGL state and made the (reasonable) assumption that it had complete control over the context.
Now with libretro the GL context is shared with the frontend so you have to make sure to play nice and not shoot at each-other's feet so I needed tighter, lower level control over the GL state.
At first I considered forking glium to add what I needed but it's pretty huge and I only used a tiny subset of it so I just rewrote what I needed from scratch instead.
It's tedious but at least I can try to micro-optimize for my use case.
Apparently beetle (Mednafen libretro) wants to find a BIOS in the same directory as the game. That would have been nice to tell me, rather than aborting with no info.
At least now I have Mednafen on Linux with no fucked up fullscreen.
It must be looking for it in the "system directory" which is the content's directory by default.
Well, no "clean" way at least. I could always have hacked something to make it work but then I would have suspected it every time I had a graphical bug.
I prefer to have a clean base that I understand thoroughly, especially since I'm an OpenGL noob and I want to understand what I'm doing. We'll see if I end up regretting it.
A new downgrader was just released for all 3ds up to the latest 10.3 firmware that lets you downgrade your 3ds to 9.2. 9.2 allows you to have kernal access, which then allows you to install CFW and pirated games.
In-depth guides describing how to do it is in the OP of homebrew general, >>127855750
Just a little warning though, make sure you have a few hours to set aside before attempting it (it tooks me over 5 hours to finish everything.)
Also I would recommend attempting this before the weekend is over because Nintendo will probably release 10.4 on Mon or Tues. If you get a softbrick during your downgrade attempt you have to go into the 3ds recovery mode where you're forced to update to the latest firmware. If you're forced to update when 10.4 is released you will lose your only chance to downgrade because the exploit will be patched!
Do it before the weekend is over so you can softbrick as much as you want worry free.
Or I can use a workaround, hopefully Google's droids don't shitlist what I would do, and that is use a new subdomain to host files. Like "braindead.mudlord.info" or something.
Sorry for the hassles. Seems Google's robotic shit is completely incompetant and can't tell whats custom packed or a virus.
Not really, they are packed with things like kkrunchy or BEP, since they are tuned for compression ratio (which is why they are made coincidently for demos, but abused by malware devs. Which is why I got caught in the crossfire since I used BEP to compress some of my 64kb intros).
From now on my stuff will be packed with my own packer, which I have given the depacking algorithm to some AV devs, so depacking it won't be a problem.
Am I a massive casual shitter for watching LPs of NES/SNES games? I love their graphics and sound but I can't just play them myself.
And I normally play stuff that people would find much harder than that gen too.
>rescue the italian fleet mission in WS2
>instead of having the actually good italian ships the italian navy uses british ones, but only because the italian ships in WS2 are armed with particle weapons and other stupid shit
Come on Koei.
Yeah but some of the so to say "liberties" are just plain silly.
>uboat type II is one of the strongest enemy subs in the game while in reality it was a little more than a training and coastal patrol sub
>uboat type XXI is THE weakest enemy subs while it's the first truly modern sub that set the standard, and it was at least 10 years ahead of its time
> Am I a massive casual shitter for watching LPs
What do you think?
Some games of that era are pretty difficult to play by modern standards because the mechanics feel dated but there are plenty of games that still hold up very well, especially on SNES.
Well, it's stuff like Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania.
I found games like PTO II and Aerobiz way too easy, I guess the only SNES game I really enjoyed playing so far is UN Squadron.
Ninja Gaiden is hard as balls, I find Castlevania fine though (once you get used to the control scheme at least).
What about Zelda, Metroid or Mario? And all their SNES sequels. Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger are some of my favourite games of all time. I think they still hold up well to this day.
I don't think it's THAT rare of an occurrence, really. I mostly play WS2 for shit and giggles, for serious naval shit there's modded Silent Hunter 3 and even that can get silly sometimes.
Everything looks fine on my end, default settings besides x4 res
Have any of you guys ever gotten Vib Ribbon working with custom CD images on epsxe? I've followed a couple of tutorials instructing you to use poweriso to make BIN/CUE image out of mp3s, then switch it out from the file menu while in the game's menu, but it always just says "insert own CD" again. I've tried using both Japanese and PAL versions of the game and also tried mounting the CD and choosing CD ROM from the file menu (as opposed to choosing the BIN file; the cue file crashes the emulator for some reason), nothing works.
huh, looks like they're included with the emulator now
Anon, you can make a huge ass battleship with enough weaponry to destroy a small country why the fuck would that not be fun?
On top of thate game is arcade as fuck and easy to pick up
It works fine with PS1 and SegaCD redump images I have, but I never got it to work with my music.
I think it's just that emulators don't want to use actual audio formats ever(except ape I guess). Even with wav it wouldn't work. I was going to try dumping a music CD according to redump's guide, but I never got around to it.
I think it might work in MAME, but I couldn't find any CDs ripped in bin/cue format to test it. I tried making one myself, the game read the disc and started the custom level, but no music was playing. I couldn't tell if the problem was the emulator or my CD.
I was the anon that the other day had some problems recording Mednafen,Dxtory could only record at 45 FPS and i didn't know why (i play in windowed mode). I found out that it was the screen dimmer's fault, any way i can avoid this without turning it off?
What's with the thread being this dead these last few days?
It's almost like all of you losers don't emulate anymore.
Any update on soft line crt shaders? Too many are thick black lines everywhere.
I got banned for 2 days for posting this very same image.
I guess I really do have to get NuPa to work now.
Final destination, fox only, no items
Are you sure? This link lists unique entries for the time trial mode:
I got pic related for my first try.
If anything, it's more likely that someone who finds the games too troublesome to play but likes the atmosphere or graphics is older, not younger. Young people have a lot of time and are much more adaptable.
GUYS GUYS GUYS
THEY WENT TO 1.5.0. Gregory moving 1.3.1 to stable release. HOLY SHIT, THEY'RE ON THE MOVE.
>leaving RAM on autofire when there are at least 6 Aquila class carriers continuously shitting planes on top of at least two airfields
Also want to guess what killed me? That's right, fire and ammo detonations. I'd definitely consider carrying the fire insurance if only this piece of shit BB had more slots for modules or I had the High Gravity Shield.
Also please tell me what other problems I have, I don't see anything other than the energy weapons/planes/missiles that never fail to cause fires spam.
I gave up on using halation and curved edges. It hurt my eyes after a while. I'll keep on like this.
10 RAMs keep up with anything the game throws at you plane wise provided you're killing the carriers/airports before you run out.
imo you need more front-loaded brute force if you're gonna go BB on the second loop so go with 3-4 80cm at-least preferably all towards the front, that way you can bum-rush the enemy heavy hitters and mop up the rest easily after a first retreat, planes are free ammo so just let everything go full autofire no way you're not getting at-least a couple crate drop from all that firepower.
Emergency repairs are a thing too but I suppose you know that.
You can also try that system loadout
>Auto fire extinguisher
>Enigmatech α (or any that has the same attribute but I doubt you have them unlocked yet)
Just to get this out of the way, the mission I was playing was the EL2 of SPE-C-720.
That's stupid, if the framerate gets bad only one barrel would fire and ammo, raw firepower and DPS are usually the last of my concerns. Not to mention that having that many 80 cm turrets in a ship is unfeasible unless you have the double hull BB.
The problem with planes is waving around and collecting the crates while having the appropriate weapon selected, which is feasible for a destroyer/frigate and subs, but not a BB.
>ditching the firing delay system for the fire insurance
Actually that's not too bad of an idea. Having less accuracy could even be advantageous in that kind of shitfest, I didn't consider that.
Also I think as of now I have only one enigmatech, the one that gives +1 maneuverability and all of the thrusters.
Oh I forgot: it seems that the CIWS is absolutely useless for shooting down planes, while the high angle guns are really effective - at least if you have researched time fused ammunition.
>That's stupid, if the framerate gets bad only one barrel would fire and ammo,
Oh so that's why that fucking thing stops firing from all the barrels when I get too close to the action, then you might wanna consider triple100Cm, that's totally doable and it does the job very well
so im at the psycho mantis fight in mgs1 and when I switch controllers in core input options from port 1 to port 2 analog is disabled even though it's set to DS. What gives? I'm using mednafex psx core and a genuine ds3.
Why are you using windows 10?
You need to change the controller plug in to one that accepts direct X input
You literally have no control over what updates are installed on your PC and microsoft actively seeks ways to spy on your from it.
In addition you can only change your hardware a number of times per licence, and in generally it seems to work rather poorly as of now
>Why are you using windows 10?
Using a cracked version of win10 with spyware remover "hacks" until someone rigs win7 or win8 to support dx12
maybe the version of ePSXe I'm using is retarded, but I couldnt change the controller plugin.
got PCSX-R and works fine now.
>You literally have no control over what updates are installed on your PC
That doesn't personally bother me but you are correct, and I can see why this could be an inconvenience for others.
>microsoft actively seeks ways to spy on your from it
Also true, but people seem to be paranoid about what Microsoft would do with that. I have Win10 installed on this PC since early August 2015 and have torrented movies and games with it since, and I didn't get the feds knocking at my door yet. Once again, I can however see why this would make people uncomfortable.
>In addition you can only change your hardware a number of times per licence
I don't know if this would actually work, but there's some programs that let you see what your serial is even if you got Win10 for free. Unless if Microsoft decided to go full retard for the billionth time and made it so that the serials are assigned exclusively to a single machine ID, I don't see why using it again with a different PC wouldn't work.
>and in generally it seems to work rather poorly as of now
I got very little issues with it, nearly all of them except for one (Office 2007, now I use 2010) being related to games (and with a working solution every time) though I think that's because I did a clean install after doing an upgrade from Win7 (upgrade so that it can recognize my machine ID when I clean install Windows 10.) I could very well be wrong, but it feels to me like the people who are getting issues out the ass are those who did upgrades without doing a clean install afterwards.
I've been away from emulation for about a year. How's N64 emulation? I sold all my N64 collection a while back and was hoping it was less shit. Does DK64 still have the expand dong issue?
I don't think Project 64 allows for the expansion pack yet, no idea why, but there's only like 3 games that need it, and why would you want to play DK64 again? didn't you 102% it as a kid?
I actually meant that glitch which caused characters to stretch to the edges of the screen from time to time. Shit was annoying.
And I got an urge to replay Rare games while I wait for Yooka-Laylee.
>That doesn't personally bother me
Not him but...how could it not? One day you're using your PC like normal and suddenly it wants to update, then after it does it restarts and bang, blue screen of death. You just got boned by Microdick. Why would you stand for that?
>One day you're using your PC like normal and suddenly it wants to update, then after it does it restarts and bang, blue screen of death.
If it doesn't bother me then that's probably because something like that hasn't happened to me yet. I'm not saying they shouldn't have the feature, quite on the contrary, but it hasn't affected me in a negative way yet, so what do I have to complain about other than not having the option?
>too busy playing video games to post on /emugen/
your endless bitching about m$'s data collection and "muh privacy" is utterly deplorable.
you are a testament to how awful the internet would be should data collection be left in the hands of users such as yourselves.
This is illustrated by Mountain Dew's "Hitler did nothing wrong" and countless other lives destroyed, projects sabotaged and disinformation proliferated by this community.
It is obvious that it is not m$, but YOU who cannot be trusted.
Why do you find it hard to believe someone with bad hardware is trying to emulate high end PS2 games and praying the PCSX2 devs actually worked on making their emulator a bit faster even though he should realize by now they're just janitors hyping up whatever gregory shovels out of his butt and minor fixes to a few games like SH3 which already have definitive PC versions anyway?
Give me your parent's address so I can mail them a letter describing how much a disappointment you are
The fact that every AC performs much better in HW mode since at least 6 months from now and his FPS shouldn't that bad unless he's doing retarded shit like cranking the internal res at >5x?
the fact of the matter is this:
we live in an age where IF the prerogative of M$ has been compromised to the point where the user's hardware is being throttled, privacy is being inherently/maliciously exploited and the system in place is too corrupt to care that an alternative will inevitably subvert the bottom line, then why even bother using the internet at all?
The reach of M$ is easily that of Google, and we all know they're crooked too. You can't use their systems and expect to come out on top in any real way.
They don't care about your nudes.
They don't care about your ineffectual opinions.
They don't care about your opensores software.
They all just want to make their product better.
i'm afraid not.
You should abandon conventional forms of internet communication.
Write a simple operating system using an encrypted software language for hardware that uses frequencies not regulated by the FCC.
Use this device to transmit your communications to a computer (preferably in the artic) capable of connecting to the internet. This sort of relay station should be sufficient until you can commit yourself to a psych ward.
On it, thanks for the help.
I think I'll go with the Arctic thing. It seems easier, I don't really know this OpenWrt thing.
You need to stop considering vulkan as a released technology. Only a few people can actually write vulkan code at the moment. And even when it's finally released it'll be a while before we get mainstream support for it.
If you're targeting Windows DirectX is king.
Eh, you underestimate how stupid a kid can be: Patreon and general donations to Internet celebs are a great way to delude yourself that you've made contact with a celebrity.
Have you ever seen, on TV shows with an audience, that sometimes old people bring gifts to the presenters? It's the same thing, only much shallower.
This is what the new accurate blending does in PCSX2. It requires GL 4.5
The difference is night and day. No longer do you need the software renderer to get proper shading in Cold Winter.
>Why do you find it hard to believe someone with bad hardware is trying to emulate high end PS2 games and praying the PCSX2 devs actually worked on making their emulator a bit faster
Why the fuck would PCSX2 get significantly faster? PCSX2 is primarily an LLE emulator, and improving its accuracy and compatibility comes with performance costs that will counteract most possible performance gains from cleaner, faster code.
Heaps of games run so much better now, but if people think PCSX2 is gonna start working on toasters, they're delusional. If anything, the system requirements will rise.
"You can get him to drop AxeLord Armor, a Ring of Arcana, and Dracula's Tunic.
The drops are random. The only one that has a condition to meet is Drac's Tunic, and it requires you to visit the inverted castle first. I've tested it with savestates, and touching the floor DOES NOT affect whether or not the librarian will drop something. You DO need to let his chair land before you hit him again, because he can't drop things if you keep him airborne."
I downloaded it but get this in the log:
File is not a valid dynamic library.

Some kinda plugin failure: E:\Downloads\pcsx2-v1.3.1-1527-g0bd7cb1-windows-x86\pcsx2-v1.3.1-1527-g0bd7cb1-windows-x86\plugins\DEV9ghzdrk.dll
>mfw sonyggers actually try to argue the PSP isn't a worthless piece of shit now that it is 2016
In PCSXR am I supposed to choose the tweaked or the original OpenGL2 driver?
>Eh, you underestimate how stupid a kid can be: Patreon and general donations to Internet celebs are a great way to delude yourself that you've made contact with a celebrity.
How would they go about doing that? While I was underage every bank refused me from getting VISA/MasterCard (even debit), it pissed me off for years having to look for and buy everything at shit prices locally because I couldn't order anything online with the little money I had to begin with. I guess kids these days could get those prepaid VISA scam cards though
Prepaid cards are open to very early ages, I think here kids could even get them at 12, then it's just a matter of them going to the store and putting their allowance on it.
Also, there's always a chance that the most dishonest of kids will try to use their parents' credit card. This is not the risky business of stealing money from the wallet and hoping they won't notice anymore: all it takes is time enough to copy a couple of numbers.
>the point of a frontend is for ease of access to many different programs
>retroarch has babbies first UI with god awful usability
>closed source ran by one vindictive shitter who focuses on attempting to run his shit program on 20 different systems
Yeah, but that does not justify harassing the Devs demanding the source or falsely accusing them of stealing code.
Even if they stole shit, as long as they aren't profiting on it or putting a bitcoin miner, there really is no sin or horrible crime about it, geez
It will make SOTC and MGS3 run at 30fps when they're chugging even if you're running them at full speed. I think Ratchet and Jak do this too.
MGS3 has a 60fps patch.
My info might be wrong.
there's this too.
I can't even tell if this is 30 or 60.
ps3 pad but don't bother with it, hardly any games use them.
Well that's interesting.
Trying to run valkyrie profile 2 on pcsx2 and found this custom plugin. pcsx2 1.5.0. isn't finding the plugin even if I have it in my folder and the correct folder is selected. Any ideas?
This is the plugin:
>I've tested it with savestates, and touching the floor DOES NOT affect whether or not the librarian will drop something. You DO need to let his chair land before you hit him again, because he can't drop things if you keep him airborne."
WHAT. If this is true then nearly all of the guides I read about that are 100% bullshit.
Found the problem: apparently newer versions don't see plugins compiled for old versions of pcsx2.
Anyone know how to recompile plugins for use with later versions? I think that's possible.
It happens but it's mostly that graphic drivers have become absurdly complicated beasts. Skynet probably started as a graphic card driver.
That's what Vulkan is supposed to address, I hope they'll be successful.
Not even Kurogane is helping, all it says is something like "The treasure is in a transport ship that spawns from outside the map and will slowly move towards A6, do not use planes for they will destroy it before it can reach the mission area, making the crate not appear". It doesn't say anything on how to trigger its spawn. At least I got a stupid amount of cash from that mission, like 65k. I guess I can try replaying it on easy with the fastest ship I can field and destroy EVERYTHING before completing the primary objective.
Thought about putting CFW on my 3DS LL and made a visit to /hbg/ but apparently my ambassador GBA games won't work on the emulated NAND and you have to format the real NAND after downgrading. I'm assuming the RA GBA emulator core (gpSP?) isn't exactly a worthy replacement? Feels bad man...
They're panicking over there scrambling to get these fickle piracy tools going before an update that apparently will complicate things on Monday
Yeah, all the unofficial GBA emus for it are unusable. You can just inject any rom you want into Nintendo's emu though, so it's not a big deal. You can play them in emunand, but you will have to install them to sysnand too. Also, you don't HAVE to format sysnand. Leaving them linked isn't a huge deal.
>stealth Allen M Sumner destroyers everyfuckingwhere
>small so they're hard to hit with the 80cm
>cheeky as fuck, one of the squads never stops following you while the others stay at a safe distance and do chip damage with energy weapons (which would amount to 22000 base HP damage if it wasn't for the EM shield)
>missile spam too
At least there aren't any planes shitting on my frames per second. Honestly, fighting Ticonderogas and the italian BBs/DDs is less stressing than this shit.
>You're in luck as PCSX2 is meant primarily as a FF12 playing machine.
Don't you need to unlink to upgrade emuNAND from 9.2 again though? And I heard unlinked comes with a whole set of problems.
Appreciated the info my man, having a hard time trying to read up enough on all this stuff after not following the scene much while developments happened.
Honestly losing the GBA games wouldn't really matter: I haven't played them yet, probably never will, and could emulate on something else anyway if I don't get the shit working again at some point. It's just I got them on there already and they were free so I reckon it'd be nice to keep'em, y'know?
I thought Lament of Innocence was good.
I was wrong. This game is shit. Do not emulate. Do not play. People who tolerate this and talk shit about Symphony of the Night's voice acting must be murdered.
Goddammit. Whether it's DirectX or OpenGL, Timesplitters Future Perfect still has the visual glitches in Hardware mode of shit covering up your screen, probably due to bloom or something. It's really annoying since I can basically play the game fine otherwise now.
>Beware the turtleman. Dressed in ragged robes, he stalks the halls of emulation's dark corners, clanging his metal cup against the walls as he walks. If one should see him, escape quickly. Whatever you might do, never look into his eyes, else he will begin following you, demanding Xbox and SNES docs. Try to outrun him though you might, for after some time you must tire but he will not. In that time he will catch up to you, and the chase will begin again. The turtle will always follow, for the rest of your life he will haunt you. Always demanding docs, secret knowledge, whether you have it or not. For the slow and steady turtle always wins the race in the end.
Skipdraw works up to a certain point but then models and shit start disappearing, and yet the fuzz definitely has a link to the models or something since if I pull out my bare hands it appears again. Damn, do I really gotta download the iso for the GC version, was playing this from my disc
could someone be so kind as to run this through a 4K crt shader like this one:>>127904056 ? With some NTSC too.
I have no clue what goes through his mind. Does he think he's convinced us that he's some tech genius? His whole game is a charade and anyone who can read github updates can see right through it.
Why won't CRT shaders learn that the real ones have faint lines?
CRT Shaders seem to be BLACK LINES EVERYWHERE!
And if you disagree you're labeled as saying it's accurate.
