Indie Cuhrayzee game, dev posts here most of the time. Blog updates every Saturday mostly. Development is still ongoing. See their blog at

DMC, Bayonetta, We Shall Wake, Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, Ninja Gaiden, Wonderful 101, Vanquish, Sengoku Basara, Rising Revengeance, Fairy Bloom Freesia, Rainblood, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae.
Good thing they did then :u
>watch the vst7 ninja gaiden 2 videos
>decide it looks fun and not too hard like i've heard
>remember i had only played the game on normal
>start on a harder difficulty
>literally 5 first seconds of the game
>die to explosions
>so many fucking explosions
>holy whit what the fuck is going on
>stuck in the first 5 seconds of the game after 2 hours of playing
WHY THE FUCK IS THIS SO HARD
I WAS FUCKING LIED TO CGG, FUCK THIS RETARDED ASS GAME. WHY MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY WHEN IT'S SO IMPOSSIBLY HARD FUCK
> three different variants
> all can be defeated the same way
What's the point? These enemies are a letdown compared to everything else in the game, I don't even bother fighting them differently, it's just
> mash team attack + bomb
and the platinum ranks just pour down.
that's when things get exciting
their gimmick is literally "throw bombs at me fucker" of course they're trivialized when you do it
is maliciious cuhrayzee?
I keep reading people complaining about how Bayo 2 was watered down in terms of combat from 1 to 2, what's up with that? is it because of the inclusion of UC, or the weapons not being as interesting, or something else? I think the only complaint I have is the whole back and forth nature of the game now that witch time is shorter but since it's available in infinite climax it's way better.
>medium sized enemies above don't get launched by wicked weaves (unless you're in witch time)
> enemies randomly auto-dodge and auto-block your combos
>some shit weapons like Kafka and Undine
>can't mount an offense against some enemies, you have to slowly chip away at them and wait for one second WT activation
Literally impossible. How anyone can play this game is beyond me, let alone do something like the vst entries
Fuck off, I literally can't do anything because I'm permastunned to death by explosions. how thefuck did he do it
vergil's snake shoes and pants emporium
when is vergil gonna get a snake shirt though
So can we talk about practice schedules?
I've been practicing a lot lately and it's hard to get any progress. Then when I'm being lazy for about 3 days I pick up my game and reach a breakthrough. Why does this happen?
A constant theme among players. After a break, there learning different things as well as creativity get a momentary boost. This does not always happen, but when it does it can last a few days and sometimes one can execute techniques they've tried to learn consistently.
Depends on how much time one takes off a game too, and it seems to vary. For someone like myself, that break seems to be a few weeks, for others it can be months.
There are many possibilities for this, such as giving your brain a rest from a game, and when you come back it's fresh and fun again. There's also a possibility that your skill takes a while to record in your brain or something, and it expresses itself a while later after the long periods of practice. One good player told me that he believed that that's one reason why sports players take long breaks after excessive practice and come back stronger during the tournament season.
I'd definitely would like to see what science would have to say on this phenomena. It could very well be placebo, as when you play heavily things don't seem as impressive as when you return a bit rusty.
So its not just me then. It feels like you're missing crucial practice time.
But I don't think it's a placebo effect. I notice a clear improvement in the amount of consecutive combos I can get right and it feels like I'm more relaxed when executing them.
But yeah science would be interesting, especially when it fpcuses on creative sports like maybe figure skating, that have the sportsman learning patterns.
there was no need for the language my friend. I was merely stating that, to me, the specific section in question is
>CUHRAYZEE TIPS, TECHNIQUES, AND MODS
Am I retarded or does the DMC4SE debug not have infinite time for Bloody Palace?
I want to practise my cuhrazy but time restrictions kill all the fun
Why do so many on /v/ pretend to be experts at cuhrayzee games like Bayonetta or DMC when they clearly have not played the game on anything but the easiest difficulties?
it should have a 'disable bloody palace timer' option around the stage jump option. i just use the one by serpentiem for infinite timer/training mode health though: http://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry4/mods/1/?
also fuck not playing vergil in so long has ruined my ability to ground chain JC fuuuuck
>He thinks that thread is anything
That's like the below-average-okay-discussion action game thread by /v/ standards, you haven't seen how truly terrible they can be.
Some retard actually thought Angra was a better fight than Azel because Angra had more moves than him, which is not only incorrect but then he changed it to "but Azel's moves aren't unique because [enemy that actually doesn't use his moves] did it before you even saw him!"
P.S. Don't post on /v/ action game threads. Or fighter threads for that matter unless someone has a lobby going.
I play a lot, but the ones I'm currently playing aside from my usual Ninja Gaiden 2 and Devil May Cry 3 are:
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Danmaku Unlimited 2
Give them a try. They're a ton of fun.
Alright, say something good about
DMC2and nobody gets hurt
look at this, how is this enjoyable? You literaly cannot play the fucking game. to do it you must be some kind of fucking wizard because it's impossible
Good, arguably best, Dante/DT design, same goes to Lucia's or just Lucia's DT
customizable DT and desparate DT
Sort of improved movement mechanics from DMC1 due to free dodging+wall running
Shooting feels good enough
Introduced concepts that were later improved in later games like
-two-some time, fireworks
-quick weapon(gun only) switching
you can switch between Ifrit and Alastor in DMC1 but it had a short canned animation instead of being instant
-lock on reticule
-being able to manually switch targets
similar to how DMC4 Dante go slightly up during the first shotgun fire mid-air or Rainstorm, DMC2 Dante will go up a bit when firing E&I
DMC2's controls are less awkward than DMC1's and ultimately became the default layout for future games
first game to feature mission selecting, bloody palace and the ability to continue even without gold orbs
I know I'm just reaching for positives
managed to get a remake that nobody knew it was a remake
it's called DmC Devil May Cry
And yet people manage to do it.
How? Practice, Perseverance, Perception.
We all have to pay attention to what we're doing, and get used to the bullshit these games throw at us.
You can't get through a level? Keep studying what other people do in their playthroughs.
Can't do the stuff you saw in videos? Keep trying as many times as possible.
Feel like giving up in 5 minutes? Put an hour in first
Still feel like giving up? Try again tomorrow.
You gotta want it bad, You gotta get thirsty,
You gotta keep grinding until you get off that plateau.
If you were thinking of doing cool shit to win games easily, you got it wrong.
Cool shit is how we play hard.
Get crazy, or go back to the Arkham games. Whichever you want, I won't judge.
NG2 comes with a delimb system. Some moves, such as Flying Swallow (that move you used in the beginning, which you should do more of by the way to space yourself) are capable of cutting off enemy limbs and making them less capable of hurting you. Granted enemies in NG are extremely tough and will literally go down trying to kill you even if their limbs are off.
Also I think you're trying a little too hard to get damage started by a combo. Try quicker attacks, spacing, and movement, you're getting caught constantly because you're mostly staying within the same radius of space trying to attack once you get a string going.
tl;dr git gud
Onechanbara Z Kagura ft NoNoNo. The expansion pack to the the first game. The difference between the two is like night and day, but the same can said for Z2 Chaos.
Last Sample/Hunter game
*This is a tier list consisting of combat depth only for in the Onechanbara series*
Z2 is pretty good. It uses the musou format and the bosses are kind of retarded but there's some actual depth to the mechanics.
Hyrule Warriors was a reskinned Z2 instead of a reskinned Dynasty Warriors people would be calling it GOTY
An owner of the latest Onechanbara game in the series, Z2 Chaos, should definitely stick with Z2 Chaos if they're playing it only for the combat. It offers the most in terms of combat depth.
NoNoNo is just Onechanbara Z Kagaura: Special Edition. Not the Capcom kind tho. It's offers three new playable characters (the original game only has two), Aya, Saki, and NoNoNo, as well as adding new moves to the existing characters and more content to the game.
Z Kagura is vanilla. It's based off the last sample series game on the PS2 and the one game on the Wii. Hence the "what are those bars, is this a rhythm game?" from outsiders who never played the older games.
NoNoNo got a taste of it new depth, but Z2 offers far more in terms of combat depth that makes it stand out from all other Onechanbara games. The other games are in a more "controlled" state where as Z2 Chaos has a bunch of chaotic stuff going on since you now control four characters on the fly instead of two switchable characters.
So, get Z2 Chaos. If you have no other options, NoNoNo (the expansion game to vanilla) would be the next one in line. Avoid everything else like a plague, except for maybe the sample series. It has a fuckton of playable characters that I would love to see in a Z3 if possible.
[spoilers]Read the Manga[/spoilers]
The manga? Fucking A, Hell Yeah, Nigga.
The anime? Sure as Shit, Sharlene.
The ArcSys fighting game? Of course, baby!
The Koei Musou games? Don't even say that, that's offensive.
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
is this the part where we post hnk vids
watching toki just makes me wish there was a dang wesker action game
i just wanna teleport around like crazy mid combo
PS3 version has better framerate
>People in the thread actually don't have a Wii U
You're missing out on the only console of this generation that has cuhrayzee games. The two best Platinum games and an okayish sequel.
Yep, it does feel like you're missing crucial practice time. It's the main reason I don't go on breaks frequently. May or may not be an optimal way to learn tech quickly.
Not only would it be interesting, but scientists could perhaps make a formula for optimal learning. That way players will get cuhrayzee quickly, instead of grinding your ass of for nothing.
Just imagine if it were possible to backup file of your knowledge and skill of DMC, or any other cuhrayzee game, then delete your current understanding completely, try to learn certain skills again for testing purposes. Would be great as test trials would be a lot more consistent and would help a player create a personal "training plan", and when testing is done just insert your normal understanding of your cuhrayzee game back in your brain.
Unfortunately that sort of technology is not possible for now, if it did a ton of breakthroughs revolving the brain would be made. For now, a test with tons of people would be necessary.
>do any of you other niggers play this game?
Not as my main game but I'm not so inexperienced I got stuck in the first room for two hours. Beat it about 2 minutes in.
literally just git gud
idort master race reporting in, played bayo on the 360 long before the wii u was even a thing while enjoying it on my wii u plenty anyway. wii u framerate takes several more hits than the 360 verison. though for some reason it doesn't feel like that on a first playthrough though it's way more noticeable to me on the second.
oh shit you're right i forgot about trick down/side/back because i never use DT
meanwhile trying to make a combo going ham with that and this happens
yeah playin' as wesker in mvc3 is what makes me love that kinda shit. that mid-combo non-tracking teleport stuff is super duper satisfying
i made a real dumb vid awhile back that's got a bit of what i like with the first and 2nd to last combo:
but the max wesker combo vids are way better, haha.
i remember when people were saying how wesker was the best character in umvc3 1 month in and everyone was sleeping on vergil. the japs knew vergil is s tier though and wesker kept dropping.
What in the hell are you guys using to make these high quality webms? Why is it that when I try to go high quality my shit ends up 6mb or more? I've seen people post 30sec long videos using a 1080p resolution..... MAX QUALITY! What is this sorcery.
i just use a thing called "webmconverter" that seems to have been built for this site? the program calls itself "webm for bakas" and uhh, yeah
i just check the high quality mode thing, guesstimate the bitrate and that's it?
at 800x450 i use 1k bitrate for stuff pushing 15s+, 2k for anything above 10 and below 15 and 3k or more for stuff before 10s
idk how high quality my webms are though, they seem to range from alright to highly questionable
also w/ this combo it's pretty funny- if you teleport back to them, you actually sometimes end up back on the other side with your back facing the opera house. it's cool but man, findin' an actual combo that makes use of it... that's gonna be some hardcore training mode
people said he's the best because he was pretty good in vanilla. It's amazing that people have basically stepped down from praising phoenix when she's still just as viable, the only thing stopping her is Side TAC and pretty much any phoenix player will be safeguarding the hell out of that.
It's cuhrayzee for the same reasons Warriors Orochi III Ultimate is NOT cuhrayzee although it has similar mechanics with a third tag-able character.
Here's your answer:
We're Capcom fanboys. We like Capcom. We support anything with action in it from Capcom even if it's a musou. Now fuck off.
Someone have some webms with multi stage air combos? You know where they air combo a bit, extacy the enemy even higher, continue the air combo there, and do some long range skyrunning divekicking followed by more air combos.
>download bayo 1 demo on 360
cant seem to get the combos i want out
I didn't have this much trouble with dmc4
>been away from /cgg/ because life got in the way
>that guys shitty AGDQ got me thinking about playing more cuh-razy games again
So what's been happening in /cgg/ lately? Is there any new DMC4SE Vergil tech? Think the last thing i saw was the JJC infinite hover combo thing
I have a small question about dmc3
so when you are launching enemy upwards or downwards you can easily stop him from falling/flying up just by hitting/shooting him right?
But when I am pushing an enemy forward with stinger or shotgun for example I can't stop him. I've tried different things, but none of them worked out. Could you help me with that please?
that's a shame to hear.
any specific details on it besides that?
is it just a rapid slash thing or does it work with other moves?
i'm trying to think of other locations where you'd really be able to take advantage of it and those stairs are basically it- everywhere else i can think of you don't really have enough space to rapid slash without just doing the regular leap that you'd get for doing it off an edge
Not him but how hard is it really to do all that stuff from the videos he said
I've never played ng2 so I don't know how hard it really is to do no damage intersting fights on high difficulties
that nigga is over exaggerating the first fight. I noticed in his webm that the motherfucker wasn't blocking at all so he needs to git gid.
>no damage runs
thats difficult but can be done with practice. you just need to know when to use a move with i-frames that also keeps you from putting yourself at a disadvantage afterwards.
>how hard it really is to do no damage intersting fights on high difficulties
Acolyte & Warrior - Not that difficult once you are used to the game
Mentor - A bit hard, but manageable if you put enough dedication
Master Ninja - Very hard, even knowing what you are doing won't get you there, you need to know bosses inside and outside end even then is still difficult because bosses can easily overwhelm you in NG2
Do you really want to go there? I mean, I own both games and have completed them both. I know everything there is to both in terms of depth. Ha, why not, there's nothing going on in this thread anyways. But I fear overall this discussion would do more damage than good to Sengoku Basara's rep as a cuhrayzee game.
Anyone playing on PC can help me out?
I'm playing DMC4:SE and I've noticed that the game isn't really registering my diagonal analog inputs, and it's really annoying not to mention almost unplayable since Nero/Dante has to stop running every time I want to switch directions...
I'm using BetterDS3 and a PS3 controller...how do you guys set up?
>Maybe they should've worked with arc sys like they usually do.
As far as I'm aware for fighting games, they've never worked with Arcsys. Arcsys only seems to have published for their sake, not finding anything about their hand in development.
I've been here. As a disclaimer I'm not on any side, but by default I have no choice but to lean towards Warrior's Orochi because I know most of you haven't played the game and probably are just making up stuff. I didn't post that image to say "I HERE TO DEFEND WOIII!" I post it to let YOU know that I'm an informative speaker on both sides of the fence. I'm not bias towards any side. But what I DO find it hilarious is that people think Sengoku Basara is some next level musou.
"next level musou." - And honesty I can't help but laugh at the thought of anything having to do with musou being next level in the form of combat. Like, I dare someone to make a Sengoku Basara or Warriors Orochi III Ultimate Traditional.
It's simply. There are people, fanboys, that will be bias towards something they like regardless of combat depth. People simply like Sengoku Basara because it's made by capcom. If the same game was made by KOEI it wouldn't be here amongst all the other cuhrayzee games.
So there you go. I pretty much told you how this is going to go. But if the guy claiming Sengoku Basara is better would like to have a debate about the two games then I'm all for it. I just expect him to have played and completed Warriors Orochi otherwise I can't take anything he says serious.
So as another disclaimer, I say we post 100% completion pictures of both games.
You fucks are so lazy holy shit

Later this year we'll have http://pastebin.com/XFGyzhzB (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed) (embed)
I'm sitting here waiting for the guy who claims WO or any musou is nowhere near the level that is Sengoku Basara.. Not his words but... In order for a game to be respected by /cgg/, when funded by a large company, it for the most part has to be as hot as some top model chick. Which implies that Sengoku Basara is that.
I have nothing to say until the guy who made the claim explains to me what WO lacks and what Sengoku Basara has that puts it on a whole new level. Saying "It's just dynasty warriors" tells me nothing. Say it's just "Square, Square, Square, Triangle" implies you haven't played WO.
The post was meant to say I'm hear and I'm waiting for that guy to give me some explanation. I have nothing to say, but what I do have are a lot of counterarguments. I'm just basically waiting for him to say one thing so I can compare it to that of WO. That's is it. I'm not here to say it's better, I'm not here to it's worst either. I'm here to say that both are mosou games and one is no more cuhrayzee than the other in terms of the combat depth.
So if you would, you can stop trying to place me in WO's defense, because as I said, I ain't taking no sides. But by default I'm way more knowledgeable in both games than you and him.
If your going to make an excuse then we can end this now and go back to cee gee gee.
Oh don't get so defensive, nobody placed you as favouring WO. I've never played the game therefore can't really speak about how it compares to Basara.
I'm genuinely curious as to the differences, don't see why you need to wait for the other guy, surely you have opinions already?
not the guy you're arguing with but i've played both series (though orochi only up to 2, DW up to 8).
since you say you only have counterarguments, i'll give you some stuff to counter since the other guy doesn't seem to be here.
>Warriors Orochi lacks cancels aside from the basics (cancelling things into Musou Attack) or the character type cancels (I think speed types can jump cancel attacks?)
>Warriors Orochi has too few intricate setups
so realistically how long do you guys think it takes to really get good at the game
because like i just went and watched all the vst7 entries that had ninja gaiden and there's like huge differences i saw between entries of like one guy getting hit all the time and using spells? I think that was, and the entries by the other guy being pure combat and a lot more enemies to fight
idk which one was more difficult just going by what i saw of somone getting hit a lot and almost dying vs someone just being hit once or twice and not really taking much damage
>Warriors Orochi lacks cancels aside from the basics (cancelling things into Musou Attack) or the character type cancels (I think speed types can jump cancel attacks?)
Do you not realize you just said WO does NOT have cancelling options, but WO DOES have cancelling options - see: Here, here and here. Not to mention you haven't even played WOIIIU.
>Warriors Orochi has too few intricate setups
LMAO how do you know this when you haven't even played WOIIIU? You just said you played up to WOII and yet WOIIIU doesn't have any "intricate setups." You know this because you've played the game. Dude...
So this is why Sengoku Basara is cuhrayzee? It's has nothing to do with the difficulty of the game or anything. Just "intricate setups"?
>So this is why Sengoku Basara is cuhrayzee? It's has nothing to do with the difficulty of the game or anything. Just "intricate setups"?
Actually yes, if we really cared about difficulty DMC4 wouldn't be on the top recommended games, maybe even dmc3.
You must be new then, every month we talk about how Ninja Gaiden sucks and doesn't allow for creativity and people only like it because it's difficult.
Then the Ninja Gaiden players come out and cry foul and say it's only one shitposter who could ever possibly think that.
Then it goes back and forth for a while before dying down again and the threads go back to being dead.
It might be cuhrayzee lite at the very least.
The PS VITA port seems nice to get, but for the life of me, I can never bother with getting that handheld, despite a decent library
not him, but I'm interested. Convince me to buy this shitty musou pls
>WO DOES have cancelling options
what are they and how effective are they (what types of moves can you cancel out of/into)
which characters/ moves are good for set ups. please post a combo beginning with an intricate setup (point your phone at the tv if you must)
stop saying this it makes you sound like darksydephil
I beat NG2 on the normal mode for the first time a few days ago, then tried Mentor mode and got past this part after like 10 minutes. It was hard for me to adjust but far from impossible.
>you will never play sumeragi in english
>you will never even play SB4 in english
>you will never even play SB3u in english
Sounds like Capcom fanboyism to me. Which has nothing to do with this discussion, what I already said this discussion would turn into when talking to people who haven't even played the other game and what I don't feel like getting into. Not one ever said one was better than the other.
Since the original guy isn't around I'm done with this topic.
Anyone knows the yt channel of the person that did the Ninja Gaide 3: RE entries? I'm really curious about that game (about the series in general).
Or anyone knows a good source for all games?
From what I've played so far, other than the menus there's not much else needed. Though I'm still too early into the game. Trying to experiment with stuff but I guess I need to level up my character since most of my moves are locked.
The playlist has everyone's name on it already.
>Sounds like Capcom fanboyism to me
>Can't answer basic, easy questions to make a simple gameplay comparison
>Since the original guy isn't around I'm done with this topic.
Talkin all that noise about your numerous counter arguments then you run away with nothing to show like a bitch. LMAO even the shit posters in /cgg/ are trash at their game.
There's no point in discussing the game if no one competent is around. I didn't talk any "noise", I ask the guy who made the claim if he wants to have a serious discussion on the topic and that when you people who know nothing about nether game jump in asking questions and making statements as if you've played them both. Unlike you, I'm not going to waste time with people who don't know what the hell they're talking about. You're on your own with that one dude.
But hey it doesn't matter to me since I haven't touch nether one in more than a month or two. My time with those games is over, I play newer shit now. Now let's get back to cee gee gee being an inactive thread.
roses are read, violets are blue
>mfw I actually enjoyed/liked DMC2
fuck the wolf+skeleton boss though
>There's no point in discussing the game if no one competent is around.
You admit to being a shit posting scrub then.
> Unlike you, I'm not going to waste time with people who don't know what the hell they're talking about.
You don't though.Your only rationale was that SB is only accepted because it's a capcom game and people are fanboys. When people asked you for actual gameplay and gameplay related information to make you back your shit up you backed out like a bitch.
>Warriors Orochi lacks cancels aside from the basics
Try to talk about being competent when you couldn't even refute this simple statement about WO (because it isn't wrong) and on top of that you showed you lack 1st grade level reading comprehension in your response.
> I haven't touch nether one in more than a month or two. My time with those games is over, I play newer shit now.
Kek, keep making excuses basic bitch. We all knew you were a fraud.
>"I'm not towards either side but I'll lean to WO because u guys are Capcom fanboys"
>Saying "lol i played sb and isn't anything great in terms of gameplay" and then just leaving it at that as if
>"X is the same genre as Y so they must have the same to offer in terms of gameplay!"
>Expecting anything about this entire post to go anywhere even marginally meaningful just because you posted a screencap of your PS3 games
Not him but you should probably hang yourself for unironically being what might be the dumbest poster we've had in this general for a long time
>cee gee gee so empty of life they wont stop paging me
>the original dude still hasn't showed up yet this still continues
I'm not sure what to say next. I hope you guys continue to support musou games?
So how are we going to revive cgg?
We need to engage in more interesting activities besides shitposting. You can argue to let this shit die, but cgg motivates me to try harder. I don't want to lose that.
>post daily practice updates
>think of something competitive
>go around the internet shilling /cgg/ to casuals by offering free cuhrayzee lessons
>make a cuhrayzee lite list and play those games
any more ideas?
we could create a list of action games that were made before the oldest cuhrayzee games just to compare against in terms of camera control, combos, etc . we probably wont find much but it could be at least an interesting waste of time.
Dragon's D is coming out next week for pc. Hopefully we'll get some mods to unlock juggles, weapon switching, and more skill slots.
Also has anyone played streets of fury? Seems fun.
It doesn't have a lot of games. It's missing makai denjin, it's missing a variety of snes beat em ups. But that would be a lot of work so I can understand.
I'd still like to make a tier list of technical beat emp ups.
I know no one gives a shit but I can' finally do my weapon switch aircombo. Took me long enough but I feel i've gotten the hang of doing it consciously enough to start praciting variations.
I honestly thought I wasn't going to make it.
I downloaded the demo for NG 2 and NG3: RE to test the series, since my cuhrayzee knowledge was mostly platinum titles and devil may cry.
NG2: holy shit, i need to get my hands on this game soon, everything felt amazing.
NG3:RE- I started playing with Ayane, and had a lot of fun in her demo, and was thinking, "hey, this is so fun, i wonder why people complain about the game", and then i picked hayabusa, and i could understand some of the reasons why, qte's, the hooded guys don't have a health meter like they had when i played with Ayane.
Now, i will get my hand on both games somehow, and i know that i can't tell much from a demo, but i'm enjoying both games so far (NG 3 with ayane feels amazing).
The fact that you would accept anything musou related onto your wall of technicality is amusing to me, especially with the all of the game being at the very bottom of the skill floor when you compare them to pretty much anything. I enjoy watching the guy who makes the Sengoku Basara combos, but it's nothing compared to the things you see in a game with a very high skill ceiling.
And I bet that nether of you have done anything interesting for your respective games. Go ahead, post the youtube link.
so I heard you guys love depth, love games requiring high technicality, love games with a challenge. Well, boyz, do I have a game for you. (not mine)
A game where you have a shit ton of moves with various properties but fuck all accuracy because the devs thought buttons were so old school and chose stick flicking to do attacks. In fact, input accuracy is such a problem that playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma with the fucking Wii/Kinect would be a better experience unless you are near autistic and can do pinpoint accurate stick flicks. And I hope you have NASA on your side to figure out how the tap inputs for the left stick works since that is your method of dodging and most directional attacks require the tapping motion. Because when the tap inputs actually work is an astronomical mystery.
jokes and hyperbole aside, I think the game is fun; got 5 hours in and apart for a really shit boss fight the experience has been mostly good; and would pique interest to some of you guys. While attacking with right stick is something you can get used to because the attacks are generous in terms of hitboxes, Tap inputs for the left stick is beyond frustrating though. I have no idea if it's my controller or if it's like MGR's parry where you have to make sure the stick is at the default position or something. I am not aiming to push this game as cuhrayzee or something, just wanna share a game that is fun. Game emulates fairly well(pcsx2). Some speedhacks + strong CPU would run the game smoothly
All that and he didn't even show the advance stuff like combos and wave dashing. Still a good video to show the combat depth in the game.
And why do I have this feeling that Mike would love the fuck outta this game and break into it's potential?
Yeah he's got a channel on youtube. As far as I remember he only plays razor's edge though
i'm still screwing around in training mode with that dumb stairs boost thing instead of practicing trish room clearing or divekick sideswitch
the idea popped into my head to try and see if the boost generates inertia and i guess it does, but not as much as i'd like- when doing judgement cut vergil still slows down to a grind.
i was really hoping he'd keep on flying while doing the cut
that did however give me the idea to try and use summon swords to mess around since you can keep firing them while actually teleporting. you can pretty much just start teleporting around shooting summon swords and looping around them over and over again with the boost which is pretty entertaining
I've been practicing bayonetta, specially against joys, not much success (also can't record webms, since i don't have capture card, and putting the camera is a lot of work).
I'm also entering the Ninja Gaiden world, but only in the demos right now, looking a way to get the full games.
So I bought Revengeance from the steam sale, getting around to playing it now. Did so for half an hour, 29 minutes of that was trying to parry. TRYING to parry. Desperately fucking trying. It's in the goddamn tutorial, I should've been able to fucking get it.
So my question /cgg/, is what is the most efficient way to kill myself? Helium is out, guns would be too much of a mess.
That's what I've been trying to do, but then the camera points in the ground or the side and then I attack them and get hit at the same time. I'm either doing it too early or just not right at all.
Try to get simple blocks first, i know i shouldn't say that, but mash foward and the light attack button, you'll get blocks, if you get them, just do the motion with precise timing to get the parry (stop mashing)
<webm (optional but preferred)
<the game I'm practicing>
<what techniques/things i'm practicing>
<how consistent I can do them in order of above>
<my motivation level
So it'll look like this
>fullHouseGuardFlyYamatoRaves + advanced juggle starters + longRangeRose jjuggling
>0/10 + 7/10 + 6/10
Forgot how to do shotgun rose throw juggles. Someone halp?
Stinger is Dante's forward sword thrust attack done by a back forward motion. If you don't know DMC then disregard that advice and just practice the parry normally.
A lot of enemies have a red eye glow or whatever that goes off before they attack to help with timing.
It's better to get hit than block if you want to learn the timing. Wait for them to attack and press forward and attack at the same time.
thanks for sharing despite nobody asking, good luck on the anna fight where the bridge fucking falls apart at random so you'll lose all your health in one shot because fuck you I guess
>back forward motion
excuse me what?
>Forgot how to do shotgun rose throw juggles. Someone halp?
Someone seems to be shitting on ng while making himself look bad on purpose. I think it's the NGfags trying to get people to try the game. Could be me though. I'm quite tinfoil in regards to what people say on the internet.
Yeah I didn't see it because I got distracted by that shotgun blast not knocking away the enemy. I know that's possible on the ground from a distance but it's not in the air right?
depending on how you set it up, you can.
paradigm shift had a combo that shows dante doing that in the air, from a certain distance.
the video is blocked in my country now so unfortunately i can't timestamp it to you.
Yeah I figured there was some kind of other easy method but I couldn't find it. Thanks for taking the effort.
But... I don't see it. I looked at it in slow motion and it's different from yours. Because in the paradigm shift vid the enemy still gets blown back but because the rose hits that enemy straight after he goes upward. That is also seen in your webm, but that one shotgun shot that doesn't blow the enemy back has no rose follow up.
I'm currently playing it. It's really fun. I've noticed that they're still tweaking the battle system every update. Albeit it's pretty short, it's replayable especially with the 17 character it has.
Oh geez i'm retarded. You used a gunshot before the shotgun shot. Forget it. ;_;
I figured it was some new tech or sumthin
Holy shit this game is annoying
It wasn't even the dodging, it was trying to get moves to come out
why is the launcher back forward+right stick forward
why is R3 + right stick forward a common input
It was supposed to be a risk/reward mechanic. It's designed to work in a similar manner to counter attacks where if you don't time it right you get hit for a huge amount of damage
Problem is that you don't need to take the risk of timing it as a counter. When an enemy glows red it doesn't necessarily mean it's engaged in an attack, it's just the telegraph to it. So if you just dodge away and then come back into it you can avoid being hit while the enemy is still in SoB state. Likewise you can actually dodge into an enemy and interrupt them from using their attack while keeping them in a SoB state at the same time, at which point you just need to press Y and chain up attacks. It's also an issue because unlike UT chaining in previous games for example, you don't require either time or previous kills to start up the chain, you just need to dodge until an enemy inevitably goes into SoB state
yeah, his air rave carries inertia so you just do something that generates it and swing
That just generates forward momentum I want the backward kind.
>it is inertia. just JC out of anything while holding back
I feel like I should have known it was this. Guess my styling soul has left me
Not really practicing,
I'm just playing dress up in NOchan because it's funbut I should really get back to DMC3.
So I'm coming to DMC4 off of Bayonetta.
How do I deal with the slow walking speed? I just fought the Bael boss, and I got frustrated because I'd walk up to him to start attacking and he would just jump away. I could only get a couple hits in before he'd just jump away again.
are youtube links ok instead of webms or you are not using it for a reason?
Am I cuhrayzee yet?
Not until you turn on the fucking turbo.
nah bruh you weak as fuck, you gotta learn how to kill unkillable enemies first
People realized it didn't have much of a reason to even be there. When confronted with the simple question as to why, the general response proved people couldn't say anything worthwhile about the gameplay.
It was a pretty outrageous and depressing time. It's been about a year already I think.
Hello CGG, I was wondering if anyone has CGGMAD2 to offer. It kinda got taken down a long time ago because music companies, and I didn't download because I'm an idiot.
I would post updates if I weren't so dead. But I do think this is good for CGG and motivation.
Dude where can I find more of these pixel-DMC3 enemy images? They look cool.
nah, it's old tech
old fucking around with moveset files tech
Ayy what's up /cgg/ homies. Ayy, let's go twist this nigga's cap back.
MT frame work, the greatest engine ever made. Action games of infinite potential at one's fingertips. With it we could rule the world with an iron claw. To acquire it, we must infiltrate capcomHQ and steal the MT framework source code.
This mission, should anyone choose to accept it, will be a dangerous one, most likely resulting in severe wrist injuries and permanent arthritis. Navigating through the impossible capcom security systems will require a variety of technical agents:
1: A guardflying expert
2: A frame perfect input master
3: A short and long range air combat officer
4: An inputs per second champion
5: A parry specialist
6: A gameplay mechanics autist
7: An enemy state manipulator
8: A touch screen contortionist
9: A creative and unorthodox team leader
The names posted under this post will fullfill these roles in the order that they are posted.
After i beat them i discovered that they weren't magical. They were using some faggot tech in their hands. Bunch of Pussies
Unlocked the staff ryu, clear the grip of death in the jungle and gonna go sleep, i'm tired.
But this game is fucking fun, and hard. And i'm only playing on normal difficulty.i guess hard is just for autists, FUN
Do you know if the difficulty changes the AI? Or is it just a damage thing.
MGR the AI gets significantly more aggressive the higher the difficulty so it's suggested to play on hard or very hard even if you're not good at the game because having enemies circling you and waiting to get attacked is detrimental in a game that's balanced around parrying.
be real with me /cgg/. how would you feel if itsuno went back to making fighting games?
Pretty okay so long as nobody else touches DMC with a five foot pole.
DMC where it is now is okay in a way. Sad, but still manageable for its best point which is gameplay. New DMC would make the series not dead for about a year with lots of new players and such but that doesn't mean the current stance isn't still just "okay".
so it's definitely not like the thing in this vid?
if so, i've never seen it before- i feel like that'd kinda be huge news
( webm is unrelated and i am easily entertained)
oh i forgot to mention but there is a case where i've seen chained perfect JCs before but it's unlikely to be legit as it's the result of framerate fuckery. when i crank up my resolution stupidly high and then do an instant judgement cut, mashing it i sometimes get multiples like it was DMC3 when the game is running at like 20fps
I was actually hoping that a variety of people would start posting named at random but this works.
It requires learning the timing of enemy attacks. So it's simple but it requires focused training on defense.
Confirmed for not actually having played anything that uses the d-pad
>everyones hates any playable character that isn't Ryu
Thanks. I've only drawn Pride and Lust so far.
But all those are normal vertical and horizontal inputs which the 360 controller doesn't have a problem doing. You made it seem as if switching styles required the Dragon punch input from Street Fighter or something.
>Trying to figure out more combos I can do with quicksilver. Trying to be more mobile.
>Most of the stuff I've came up with is consistent(because it is easy heh) but I keep missing Revolver sometimes when trying to hit airborne enemy. Don't know why it happens, but it fucks me up quite a lot.
And I am missing not because I mistime it but because dante hits a bit to the left or a bit to the right leaving enemy intact.
Did Yoshe surpass Brea as the maximum potential female cuhrayzee player in the world? Then again Brea's gender is questionable, so Yosh should have it by default right?
What best technical female gamer in the world? I'm pretty sure that would go to someone in the FGC probably since fighting games require a higher level of skill than action games.
Still playing the demos of NG2 and NG3:RE, it is a shame that ng2 doesn't allow for more difficulty settings, and it is a shame that i don't like ryu's design.
Still having fun with ayane.
Not mature enough to have this conversation? Mad that your questionable gender waifu is no longer playing DMC and now Yoshe holds the title of maximum potential female? which is it?
Did I trigger you?
Is this all you guys ever do, shit post? Since when has it became a crime to discuss which female in an competitive environment is the best player, since when? Do tell. I need source and everything.
Or are you just mad that a girl is better than yourself? A girl has done more for this community than you and you hate the thought of that. Your sexism is showing.
I just think it's stupid to worry about.
>A girl has done more for this community than you
Well if you wanna throw around e-celeb street-cred:
Back then yeah. But as of now? No.
keking so hard no reaction image will be suffice.
>caring about gender anyway
>fiving praise to somebody because they have an extra x chromosome instead of because they are good
you the sexist, fuckboy
Two educate you both; Female gamers get categorized this way because well.. they're females in a sub culture that mostly consist of males. So when they first enter the community thing like that happen. They always happen. I'm going to assume that both of you live under a rock.
Anyway it isn't until they mark their grounds e.g win a tournament that consist of both genders. Now you might say Yosh won VST, which she did, but VST isn't a competitive tournament and therefore the title of "female gamer" remains. People could be voting for Yoshe simply because she's a girl and not because of her skill. They could always have voted because "oh look, it's Bayonetta!". Both do not determine the skill of the player.
And.... when you have a community mostly of men and there happens to be two/three females around... we(us humans creatures, not sure about you aliens) start to compare boths level of skill.
TL:DR Become a Dictator and set your own rules if you don't like the current state of the world.
You seem to care seeing how you replied with such hatred towards the comparisons of two females instead of just comparing the two players skill level.
By the way Brea DID break the "it's a female gamer!" barrier with her skill alone. Surprised you didn't acknowledge this.
Now that you've been educated I think we can get back to who is the maximum potential female player, Yosh or Brea?
People assume Brea is a female because of his/her name, but there is actually no trustworthy or valid information whatsoever about Brea anywhere. So people just started saying "her" because Brea sounds like a girls name.
so i've been wondering, how come nobody in cgg ever posts any ng footage?? it's always the same guy over and over again
it's like how nobody except pops ever did any vj stuff
Brea was not the best at her time.
And while yoshesque is probably the best bayonetta player active, she isn't the best overall.
they are (were?) great at their games, and that is what matters to me the most. Yoshesque being more to me because bayonetta is a more interesting game IMO and because she is still active and somewhat improving.
Even early era DMC4 is more demanding than current era Bayo 1. Mostly cause the Bayo 1 meta hasnt really evolved much at all, since theres too many technical factors working against it. Mainly Platinums misguided obsession with slowdown.
>People assume Brea is a female because of his/her name
Brea's channal name is Breatoal and has always been Breatoal. Brea is short for Breatoal. Breatoal is NOT a female name. So where is it that implies Breatoal or Brea or Toal.jp is a female?
It being a name or isn't the point because
>People assume Brea is a female because of his/her name
People think/believe Brea is female because of a name that's NOT female and is used as his/her Youtube channel name. Again where is it that implies Brea is female? No one knows, right.
You guys really don't know what "First Era DMC4"
First Era DMC4 was back when people didn't realize that Flying guard was a thing yet.
In fact this is a video showcasing that.
That right there is first era DMC4.
Devil may cry 4, more demanding, more boring at low, mid and high level to watch, and this is in every life cicle of the game.
Bayonetta, 1 player reached a level that no one reached in 5 years, the closest player besides him is yoshesque, still more fun, and intersting game overall.
How many of you are american? I know the iron grip of feminism has influenced your country greatly, but that's no reason to start acting like a bunch of chronically offended lesbians.
Thanks mate. That was probably what I was thinking of and I'm just misremembering.
I was only asking because the AGDQ speedrun got me thinking if there's a higher DPS you could do than iJC basically every attack (when you aren't distortion punching bosses), and iJC->iJC seemed like the logical next step.
>DMC babies music selection
LMAO got damn man. I fucking lost it as soon as the vocals came in. It's like the same nigga has multiple Youtube accounts or the nigga who made the music asked the DMC community to promote his album.
Have you not seen Sakaki's non JC combos? Dino's non JC combos? And I think Aku's non JC combos? What I mean is they require some thought and creativity to make them look interesting.
When you plan to make one you have to figure out how to make them look appealing. Jeez some of you really don't use you're fucking brains before responding. Low I.Q. morons. Literal cuhrayzee over there.
>Ninja Gaiden is a series known for being "Nintendo Hard"
>Ninja Gaiden isn't available on pc
>There is no current emulator available that allows you to play any of the Ninja Gaiden games
Not him, but i believe the point is. When you have a certain mechanic or tool, that you would use 80% the time, and you decide to do something without using at all, is way more impressive.
I don't have the money to get a capture card because I blew all of my pocket change to get a PS3 + Ninja Gaiden games. I could just use my phone to record shit but I am nowhere good enough to make interesting stuff
>Ninja Gaiden isn't available on pc
>There is no current emulator available that allows you to play any of the Ninja Gaiden games
meme excuses, people record Bayonetta and it's not on PC either
>Ninja Gaiden isn't available on pc
>There is no current emulator available that allows you to play any of the Ninja Gaiden games
Are you all trying to lore me out?
The short answer is; Bumfags. Bumfags everywhere.
Notice this Bum's reply >>128116991 is that it's not on PC.
we already know the real answer
a few months ago someone else asked the same thing. The response was that in reality, people who play or have played the games are too fucking casual and any attempts at getting good end up in frustration.
Everyone is too fucking shit at the games and they don't have the patience to learn them beyond maybe beating the games on master ninja once
I don't want to shit post or sound like a troll but maybe they just think the games are boring as fuck?
While NG definitely has some aspects that I think it does better than anything else, I think the games are boring as shit to play. There's no dicking around, there's no fun allowed. It's all serious fucking business, and then you complete the game. I can sort of understand man, and I hope you can too that not everyone is willing to invest time in something that in the long run will not really give them as many creative options like say godhand, bayo, or dmc.
>Everyone is too fucking shit at the games and they don't have the patience to learn them beyond maybe beating the games on master ninja once
To be fair, there isn't much incentive to play a lot of games here. Which is a shame. I can't say i'm doing something to change that, since i'm basically trying to get good in a lot of games at the same time.
>since i'm basically trying to get good in a lot of games at the same time.
So how's that going? It's my experience that pushing your boundaries in one game makes it easier to do so in other games, so I think it's better to focus on 1 thing and get really fucking good at it.
Not critisizing, just trying to discuss.
They haven't even made it past the first step, their words are nothing more then excuses.
>I don't have recording equipment
Then go get some.
The fuck are you doing in /cgg/ with this mindset?
I'm kinda decent at bayonetta, bad at everything else, but i can't just play one thing over and over, so i've been having fun in the NG3: RE demo recently(trying to get the game somehow), while also playing w101, and sometimes i boot my dmc hd collection for 3 and sometimes i play vanilla dmc 4 and MGR.
While i don't think i'm improving much, is the best way to have fun while playing, and i think it is the most important aspect. And i'm better at bayonetta because is the one i like the most and is also the one i had more time put into.
I just want to say, this is a very personal feeling. For some people devil may cry 4 will be boring, and if that person says so here, a bunch of white knights will raise their weapons in deffense. Some people will find NG more fun than DMC, and vice-versa.
No it's not when people have proved you can be flashy and play the game without having to cheese your way through the harder difficulties
People just don't bother because they're lazy and they don't feel like practicing in a game that doesn't have a BP and debug mode so they always need to be playing in real time against enemies that always fight back
I was talking about the people who play and like the games
like idk dude i know not everyone likes the same games, but if your personal opinion is that the games are boring why bother saying that. That some people don't like ng doesn't explain why the people that like it don't do anything for the games
Could defiance be considered crazy ?
They kinda ripped off DMC
Couldnt find a good combo video but i remember you could be creative once you got all the powers
I have a job, but I'm saying not everyone can run out and easily get one.
There's people that live in rural areas with shitty internet connections, without a driver's license and have to rely on others for rides
There's people who can't get a job due to where they live and how crammed the job market is/don't have experience for getting a job.
Getting a job is not easy for everyone and can be downright impossible depending on where you live.
Dazzle's cost like 40. There's easycap but it only supports AV cables, just like Dazzle capture cards so if someone only has an HDMI setup, they can't record with it.
KEK. Speaking of Dazzle... yo I gotta get em; One time I tried to recommend the dazzle to these bums and they were all against it because not 720/1080p. Like, not only are you Bum but you're a picky Bumfag? What right do you have to even speak on such things, LOL!
And i guess the two few of us JUST SO HAPPEN to live in these situations, right? If so, then 4chan and videogames are the last thing you should be doing in your spare time.
By the way, who the fuck are these people you are even referring to, because no one has openly said any if this shit, you're just making stuff up for them. Bumfag Defense Force in action as always.
>is the best way to have fun while playing, and i think it is the most important aspect.
Can't argue there. And if you're enjoying yourself it often means you can get better easily if you keep playing.
>That some people don't like ng doesn't explain why the people that like it don't do anything for the games
I mean I think people who play NG have less motivation to be creative. They like NG because of the challenge it sets, and not as much because of it's creative potential. Most serious dmc4 players on the other hand will focus on creativity since the game allows it. The same for bayo and gh. I think it's a matter of what kind of personality the players have that a game attracts. dmc4 attracts creative players, and NG attracts players who seek a challenge.
