Almost all games are only beaten by around 10% of the people that play them regardless of the difficulty. And no, this is not a "modern gamers" thing, it's been like this since the 90s when they started looking into it.
>>322992060 >pacing ruined by cinematics every three steps >hitsponge enemies and bosses, many of them really annoying to combo (some impossible due to required time witch to kill them) >seriously the bosses have TOO MUCH health and your input damage is so little, it takes age to kill them (they also dodge basically every move after your first hit) >'epic' aerial boss fights with limited movement (mahority of them is like that) >bland weapons, both mechanically and aesthetically >annoying nigger as a compaion instead of useless loli >story is worse (they are both shit though) >ost still good but less so
My opinion desu. the first one is a 9/10, second is 7/10 at best
>>322993251 You just equip guns and dodge to hit enemies and then continue that long combo/wicked weave finisher whenever you need it without wasting time and dropping the combo by doing it from scratch each time.
>>322993048 >I was able to beat the first release of Ninja Gaiden on original Xbawcs on every difficulty including Master Ninja Amazing feat taking into account vanilla NG didn't have Master Ninja difficulty.
>>322992812 >pacing ruined by cinematics every three steps Bayo 1 suffered from this too >hitsponge enemies and bosses, many of them really annoying to combo (some impossible due to required time witch to kill them) I think you mean witch time, and combos were way more easy to do in 2 >seriously the bosses have TOO MUCH health and your input damage is so little, it takes age to kill them (they also dodge basically every move after your first hit) The input damage isnt that much different, also learn to stun >'epic' aerial boss fights with limited movement (mahority of them is like that) I actually agree >bland weapons, both mechanically and aesthetically Eat a bag of dicks, rashaka, salamandara and chain chomp are the most fun weapons i ever used in a hack and slash >annoying nigger as a compaion instead of useless loli To be fair, they both were pretty terrible >story is worse (they are both shit though) Less convoluted than the first and inproved bayonettas character, though yeah it is less curayzey >ost still good but less so Moon river>fly me to the moon
Honestly my favorite character action game. I realize that it's not the best in either mechanics (DMC) or difficulty (NG), or even ridiculousness (W101) but something about it just has always clicked with me. prolly Bayo.
>>322994107 >Bayo 1 suffered from this too in no way it was this intrusive, but yeah it did
>I think you mean witch time, and combos were way more easy to do in 2 i didn't say they were hard to do, it's just the enemies that prevented you from doing them in one way or another
>The input damage isnt that much different, also learn to stun the input damage is drastically reduced, what the fuck. it was clearly done to accomodate the introduction of multiple characters (rosa is OP in this aspect, but really frail)
>Eat a bag of dicks, rashaka, salamandara and chain chomp are the most fun weapons i ever used in a hack and slash all shit
>To be fair, they both were pretty terrible yes, but the nigger was much worse
>Less convoluted than the first and inproved bayonettas character, though yeah it is less curayzey >bayonettas character top kek. it was way less interesting and the action scenes were so tame in comparison (prelude still good tho)
>Moon river>fly me to the moon nope. also mysterious destiny > tomorrow is mine
Things Bayo 2 did well: >humanoid bosses >added a shuffle >removed frame freeze on 360 kick and tetsuzanko >demon enemies >love is blue moveset, including more ground to air setups >better tetsuzanko cancelling.
Things bayo 2 did wrong >no sai-fung >certain weapons only have half movements with no utility at all >damage numbers increased but weave damage lowered and stun taken away comepletely. Meaning use of umbran climax is needed >UC takes no positioning, has a 1 second activation delay which ruins distortion, basically button mashing with too much damage >witch twist useless and only uses weaves in UC >enemies break combos >WT in NSIC >360 punch gun aim now does knockback which ruins combos and consumes magic >magic punishment for getting hit taken away, combo counter diminishing returns lowered so that you no longer have to manage combos/magic gain. >salamandra is killroy 2.0 with more damage and a stinger >more floaty, less gravity on moves meaning airtime is more of a joke. >cooldown on jump cancels >skill challenges are a joke >overall easier >more enemies to break combos not that it matters since WT on NSIC >air fights restrict movement and are pretty meh at best.
Bayo 2 is good but not great and did more reductions than added anything worthwhile.
>>322995141 >in no way it was this intrusive, but yeah it did At least bayo 2 didn't have sucker punches where enemies attack directly after a cutscene >i didn't say they were hard to do, it's just the enemies that prevented you from doing them in one way or another The only enemy that does this is allegiance, and the shield enemies (if you can't air combo), and remember grace and glory, the shield affinities, inspired, fairness, and fearless from bayo 1? >the input damage is drastically reduced, what the fuck. it was clearly done to accomodate the introduction of multiple characters (rosa is OP in this aspect, but really frail) Huh, never noticed, but the boss fights are still better though >all shit Shit taste >yes, but the nigger was much worse At least he did stuff, not defending him, just saying >bayonetta's character >top kek. Whats so funny about that? >it was way less interesting and the action scenes were so tame in comparison (prelude still good tho) That's becuase all the action scenes were in the gameplay instead of watching it >nope. also mysterious destiny > tomorrow is mine No
>First play through of Bayonetta >See all these new equips I get from LPs >Assume that I need to purchase them from Rodin >"Man, that shit is expensive. Fuck that noise, I'll just buy abilities and witch hearts/pearls" >Get to the point where I have nothing to spend halos on >"Guess I'll give the weapons a shot" >See that only 3 weapons are in store >"Wait, I could have sworn I unlocked more than this. Where the fuck is the sword? I wanna give that a try." >Look all over Rodin's shop like a dick and give up, because I just wanna play more and it isn't worth my time really >Just beat the whole game with starting guns >Decide I may as well give those claw things a try even if I can't find where the sword is, maybe I unlocked them but need to buy the first set of weapons before I can buy the other ones >Wait, how do I equip this shit? Start menu doesn't have any options to equip >Hit select >WHOLE NEW INVENTORY INTERFACE I LITERALLY WENT THE WHOLE GAME WITHOUT REALIZING WAS THERE >ALL WEAPONS ARE THERE >Feel like a fucking moron and enjoy my new toys on hard mode
Items actually lower your score. You are NOT intended to use them if you intend to get good rankings at the end of each chapter. I guess they could be used as a crutch but if you do, it basically means that you suck at the game and it pretty much acknowledges that fact, like Devil May Cry.
>>322992521 >Almost all games are only beaten by around 10% of the people that play them regardless of the difficulty. And no, this is not a "modern gamers" thing, it's been like this since the 90s when they started looking into it. That is the saddest thing.
>>323001216 I wanted to avoid using items at first in Bayonetta 2, until I got super low on health and found out that actually using items in that game didn't hurt your score the way they did in the first.
I wanted to have some integrity and avoid using items anyway, but in the end, I said, "Fuck it," and abused the hell out of them.
They're pretty much one of the main reasons why that game is so much easier than the first.
I always forget that items even exist in these types of games, ever since DMC where I ignored them because of the rank reduction.
Even in Bayo 2 where you're not punished for using them I still never remembered to. And I've been playing Transformers Devastation lately and always just sell the items even though that game is absurdly hard on the highest difficulty.
Fuck flame Ardor. Fuck Kinship. Fuck the Temperentia fight. Fuck the one hour bike section with the bugged curve. Fuck the highway level in general. Fuck OHK qtes. Fuck Golem. Fuck the shmup level, seriously stop putting them in each of your games, Kamiya. Especially fuck Gracious and Glorious. Especially fuck Jubileus' black hole attack. Especially fuck the lipstick and solar system section on higher difficulty.
No bayonetta 2 is literally easier than 1 by a mile, you just kinda suck especially if you had to use items. They hand you WT on the highest difficulty if that isn't easy enough with umbran climax in the mix.
>>323002252 That doesn't make it much better The humanoid bosses in B2 are still the most stale and boring boss fights. >>323001762 Infinite Climax in Bayo2 is about as hard or even easier than hard in Bayo1
That's exactly what I said, air combos are a joke in bayo 2 and way too easy to pull off. I didn't mention charge bullet because I didn't feel like listing all the other shit like the piss poor co-op, the handing out of rings, the addition of whips that can actually combo and turn the game into GoW without punishing the player at all, it goes on and on really.
Also the lumen sage fights were pretty great, especially when you disable WT using trinkets. The problem is that you can't really stun them without UC and they don't match up to the double jeanne fight in Bayo1
>>323002380 You get revived right were you died. You have infinite continues. Everyone can finish that game, you will just have really really shitty scores at the end and will have barely unlocked anything.
>>323002557 Even though it was better in almost every way Bayonetta 2 is the inferior experience. I think it's just because Bayonetta 2 never hit that level of fun that Bayo 1 had. Probably because the lackluster climax
Also this is a ridiculously stupid argument, all you've said is that it's dull and you just have to spam WT. Which is just as stupid as saying all NG battles are dull and boring by having set movesets and reactions to said movesets. Moreover bosses have always been the weakness of the game, but please explain how lumen sage is a bad boss mechanically without resorting to just saying it looks 'dull'
>>323003417 >that video Thanks for proving me right All he did was shoot and get one hit in every hour The problem is that it's literally impossible to combo them without WT, they will always get out after a maximum of one single hit. As soon as I opened the video and saw the time code I knew this would bore me to no end. It takes for fucking ever Not only that, but the whole fight looks completely the same.
>>323004546 Any souls game basically Nearly all of my casual friends quit DaS1 after like the first 3 bosses >>323004574 Every single Jeanne fight Just watch this and orgasm at the double Jeanne fight After that watch every single video she ever made and see the light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiPnBzaxKvo
>listing a bossfight I already said was superior in every way
Okay so you don't really have much of an argument then thanks for the reading comprehension. Which by the way only really works on jeanne because in the trails she doesn't have her full moveset because her singular fights are just as dull which is why you fight two and why bayo's strength is never the bosses. The singular ones have always lacked combo potential.
You've given me no mechanical reason other than not building combos which is inherent in every singular fight except for large bosses which have been subpar at best. Maybe if you actually played the game rather than just listing vstyle tournament players you'd have something to go on.
>>323005685 I have played and finished both games on every difficulty. I don't claim to be a pro at the games though. The combo is all I need as argument. The Lumen Sage fights are "no fun allowed" incarnate because you simply can't do shit without WT and it just takes forever. Your video is the perfect proof. No other fight in the franchise is that redundant. Not one.
>>322984926 >stop playing for a few weeks >can't remember the controls or which combos are best for which situation anymore >gotta sit in a fucking loading screen testing combos before i can even start playing again
>Guy asks for an interesting Lumen Sage video >Links John "I'm the best Bayo 2 player ever just let me remind you in every comment I make even though in truth I'm pretty average/mediocre and got easily disproved several times at VST that I'm not the best as I hold the shoot button for years" Chin >Entire fight is just him doing the same thing over and over again
